Really upscale hotel with breakfast and onsen. Walkable to Kyoto Station and Nishiki Market.
Good property, accommodating staff and good facilities. Only down side is Expedia’s room description, I paid a higher price for a room with a view the view was of a wall I would have been better booking a room with no view.
We LOVED staying here! It was such a convenient location by the Kyoto station with it still having a more traditional vibe. They provide Pjs that you can walk around the whole hotel in without your shoes since you drop them off at the hotel entrance. The onset was really nice and there were so many different pools to choose from. Would definitely come back next time we’re in Kyoto!
We had such an amazing stay. Great experience overall. Minutes from Kyoto station and other surrounding train lines. Welcoming, helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are very decent sizes. Public onsens were easy to adapt to, especially if it’s your first time ever. The unlimited ice cream at night, yakult in the mornings, massage chairs, late night ramen and breakfast was a huge plus. Very convenient, and fulfilling! Loved it!
I liked the onsen experience and the free ice cream!
This was our favourite hotel while touring Japan for two weeks!! Loved the Japanese feel, buffet breakfast, onsen and other amenities.
Too many people!!
This hotel is A
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was really nice and the amenities and breakfast was superb. Staff was nice and friendly. They helped us with shipping our luggage too. If you have tattoos like me (I have a whole sleeve), be ready to buy patches to cover them before you get in the onsen. It took us an hour to cover my arm up and an hour to remove. We spent about $60 worth of patches but rules are rules! Regardless, highly recommend and would come back again!
Cozy room, nice onsen
The onsen is the main attraction, several pools, nice changing room with amenities. The room while small (is typical for japanese hotel rooms) is very cozy with nice wallpaper.
The lobby was a little chaotic with luggages everywhere and lots of people walking in and out. Staff is super friendly. They don’t let you wear shoes in the hotel so there are lockers right when you walk in to place your shoes. The place was really clean, room was pretty spacious. Didn’t get to utilize the amenities bc I felt really sick so I’d definitely come back here to experience it. Hotel location is very walkable to the train station. Would recommend this place to my friends
Outstanding!!!
Popular, busy. But so quiet too.
Amazing!!
奇跡的に連泊で予約が取れたので利用しました。 京都駅から徒歩圏内、設備がきれい、安定の朝食ビュッフェ。大満足です。
Excellent property, close to Kyoto station in a walkable distance. Staff are super nice and helpful. The hotspring is so nice. Breakfast is excellent and it's what we look forward to every morning. Daily icecream, probiotics drink, and late night ramen just make the stay even sweeter. We can't wait to go back!
Amazing hotel. You walking in and it’s like you step back in time. You take your shoes off and lock them in lockers. Staff is right at the door to direct you. Staff assisted with arranging taxi for extra luggage to train station. Free ice cream from all afternoon and evening. Free ramen 9pm-11pm. Breakfast is an additional cost but well worth it. Massage chairs are available for free but usually in use. Unfortunately we could not use the onsen because we both have tattoos and they are clear they don’t allow tattoos. Bed was quite hard but we founded this to be true of all the hotels in Japan. Shower was large. Plenty of space in the room for luggage storage which was nice. Free washing machines, dryers take 100 yen coins. Small fridge and waters in room. Microwave by vending machine. It’s a 10 min walk to the train station. There are several bus stops within 2-5 min walks. Gorgeous temple about 5 min walk away. Plentiful shopping about 5 min away. Excellent Wagyu steak all around. Found a spot you cook it yourself just a block away.
Absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to come back! The onsen is spectacular, the breakfast was so good, all the extras like late night ramen and ice cream were great. The room rate was very reasonable. We’ve stayed at fancier and more expensive hotels in other parts of Japan, but keep talking about how much more we enjoyed our hotel in Kyoto.
Unfriendly staffs, very unusual in Japan.
Good place to stay
Good place but a little too big. Don’t bother payer ahead of time for the breakfast buffet, I paid for 3 days could only get in once. Wouldn’t waste hours out of my day to wait for the buffet to have some places to eat. Also, it is not near any train, you always have to walk at least 10minutes.
Walking distance from Kyoto station
I stayed three nights at this hotel and I enjoyed my stay very much. The breakfast buffet spread was superb! Many items to choose from and the food was delicious. The public bath area was nicely maintained too with staff performed the housekeeping regularly. The ramen supper and the ice cream were very nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent services, good communication (English and Chinese), nice hot spring, updated facility and room. Its location is convenient, about 8 minute walk to Kyoto station, and 400 feet from several major bus routs. Our 280 sq room is spacious. Bathroom and toilet are clean and top notch. Hotel lobby has coffee and matcha tea. Hot spring (no charge) has free ice cream. The only issue is that the hall way upstairs (4th floor) is too hot, feeling like >80 F (25 C)
Very clean, staff professional and courteous
Great relaxing get away in Kyoto with Hot Springs
Amazing stay in a Japanese style hotel. Service was amazing, people very willing to help and work through the language barriers. Room was spacious, particularly for Asia standards. The amenities were great and it was so awesome to have access to the hot springs on site. It was very easy to honor the local customs and traditions. Very convenient to the Kyoto train station and bus lines.
Favorite hotel during my Japan trip. It is very traditional so you cannot walk around with shoes. The hot springs and massage chairs were great. The food was also amazing. Just make sure to get there before 6:30 cause the lines get long
Lovely hotel and amazing onsen
The location is very close to the Kyoto station.
Interior is fully lined with tatami, letting you walk everywhere with socks. Hallways are heated so you stay warm in robes. Food was excellent, including the Night Noodles.
Great breakfast buffet! Awesome attentive staff! Our first onsen experience and we loved it. My 4 year old and 10 year old loved the onsen experience too! Free ramen and ice cream! When we come back to Kyoto, we will be coming back to Onyado. This hotel is close to Kyoto station(10 minute walk) and buses. Gyukatsu is across the street (you definitely have to try their Wagyu katsu which is mind blowing). There’s a store that sell Japanese skin care and other goodies close by too.
Convenient location to different train/subway and bus stops. Few eateries within walking distance as well as convenient stores like Mini Stop and 7-11
As it was my first experience with an Onyado, I did not know quite what to expect. The staff was very helpful in explaining and answering any questions that I had. My only disappointment was that it was very difficult to obtain bandages to cover my tattoo. Luckily I had brought some bandages and was still able to utilize the mineral pools. For all I would highly recommend this in. Very clean, delicious food and beautiful setting. Thank you.
This hotel was amazing! Take advantage of all the amenities!
Solid spot to stay at for a Kyoto trip and the onsen baths were really amazing after long days walking 20K steps. Don't expect this to be like a Ryokan, its more like a regular large hotel with a nice bathhouse attached. The breakfast is really solid as well, recommend trying it at least once.
The onsen experience was great the only thing that you have to get use to is that when you enter it’s fully nude. Which for westerners for the most part is not the norm. There are massage chairs just before entering the onsen. However, was hard to get a seat as there are only about 5-7 chairs and though they ask individuals to only use it for 15 mins people were on there for a while. There is also a relaxation room where they have free ice cream which was really nice they didn’t have any probiotic beverages while I stayed there for some reason. I believe they normally do. It’s a 5 min walk from the bullet train. And there are plenty of restaurants in the area and omakase spots.
I loved staying at this property! It had so many amazing amenities in addition to the onsen like the free late night ramen, all day ice cream, and morning yogurt drinks! There was a wide spread of items at the breakfast buffet for a great price. The tatami mat feature throughout the hotel was also so unique. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would come back to this hotel next time!
Clean and great amenities (free ramen, yakult, ice cream, matcha latte, onsen and massage chairs)
Onsen, onsen, onsen First time trying it, didn’t think I would like it but ended up loving it. Shoes aren’t allowed in the entire hotel, there’s a bunch of shoe lockers just before the lobby, you’ll be provided with socks and PJ for your entire stay, you’ll see everyone wearing them to their fabulous breakfast, onsen & other free stuff like late night ramen.
5 minutes from Kyoto Station. Nice hot springs. Great breakfast!! Overall nice and convenient stay.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property. It's a nice blend of traditional Japanese and western needs. We loved the onsen (although highly recommend going in the afternoon around 5pm or later at night because it gets BUSY), the complementary massage chairs, ice cream, and drink machine with matcha latte. We also took advantage of the 9-11pm complementary ramen, a nice pre-bedtime snack. The room was very nice, clean, and a good size. The only thing we caution is that the mattress was hard and the pillows aren't substantial, so if you're sensitive to that, bring your own pillow. We didn't eat breakfast here, but it looked good! Because of the tatami floors, you take off your shoes and walk in your socks, so be prepared for that.
unique style hotel
nice and unique hotel
It was an unique Japanese experience.
Staff was very polite and helpful. Free amenities like the morning yakult and evening noodles were very nice. Baths were very relaxing.
The service staff is very helpful and the room is always very clean and tidy. The bath spa is also quite large and enjoyable.
This was an amazing experience! The hotel, its amenities, and the room were beautiful. It all felt like heaven during my stay.
It was a wonderful stay. My adult kids and I enjoyed the hospitality, shoe-free, hot spring and professionalism. will definitely come again.
Excellent property, amazing staff, great food and awesome hospitality with cultural immersion sums up our memorable time here. Highly recommended!
Walkable to Kyoto station in 5-8 minutes, shopping, dining. Natural Spring spa is the best , won’t find other better choice for such a large clean spa. Only slight drawbacks are the size of the room a little small.
Less than 10 mins walk to Kyoto Station. Very convenient location for tourists. Very nice guest room and public bath. Only thing I can complaint is the AC of the guest room floor aisle was bit too hot during winter.
This was one of my favorite hotels during my stay in Japan. The onsen was extremely relaxing, the room and facilities were clean, and the hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. They even offer (limited) tattoo cover sheets for the onsen. Daily breakfast was also worth it. Will definitely be back in the future!
cool one
Amazing place to stay with, will come back next time.
Clean
The lobby is a bit chaotic and the room is very hot. Would be nice if housekeeping refreshed the room but they did not. The massage chairs are smelly. The onsen smells like chlorine. The chairs in the relaxing room are filthy. Check in was very pleasant. The young man was very polite, but i didn’t receive any service after initial check in.
Very clean! The staff were super nice. Easy to walk to a station close by.
Beautiful hotel with lots of great amenities. The onsen is a great way to relax after a long day of walking.
Relaxing onsen on site
Very family friendly. Very busy at night. The staff and amenities were worth it though for 2 childless travelers. Rooms were big, great free laundry, front desk offers luggage delivery, clean, great location, loved the onsen and massage chairs. Would go back
Overall I loved my stay here! It made my visit to Kyoto so memorable and added to how much I loved the city. I cannot comment on the breakfast as none of it is gluten free but I hear it is wonderful. It was in a good place close to the trains, about a 7 min walk. I loved my stay here I just wish the pillows were softer as they are really firm but otherwise it was perfect!
The location is close to railway station, shopping mall and site seeing spot. Hot spring is good, breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended!
Great amenities, very relaxing
We stayed for 2 nights and it was my favorite hotel out of the ones we stayed in Tokyo and Osaka. The amenities were great - the AYCE breakfast, hot springs, and midnight snacks were definitely the best parts! The room and shower was very clean and comfortable. We did, however, notice a small smell in the room when entering which wasn’t a huge concern but something to note. Other reviews mentioned it being overcrowded due to it going viral on the internet but it was alright during the 2nd week of January. I would consider staying again, however it is a slight walk to the nearest train station.
Loved it
The breakfast is amazing, the room and facility is clean and comfort. The staffs are very nice and helpful. We really enjoys the hot spring, laundry, and the foods there.
Fabulous service, wonderful Onsen, phenomenal breakfast.
Pretty good experience. The noodle and breakfast were pretty good.
Good stay
Amazing property. Recommend the onsen and breakfast was awesome.
It's a nice hotel, but I did not like the idea of not wearing shoes. It was quite a bit of a hassle.
Loved the breakfast spread and onsen
Easy walk from train station. Wonderful onsen with many pools. Great massage chairs and free ice cream! Very clean! Bed was long and large for taller folks.
Great stay
Walkable location from the stations
Absolutely amazing staff. Ideal location for tourist, would recommend for sure
If you want to experience culturally traditional Japanese stay that is very spacious with modern amenities, this is the place. Onsen and breakfast buffet are top notch. It's also conveniently closed to the high speed rail station.
Nice
Great hotel! Breakfast is a must! The ones is amazing! Would highly recommend!
The ryokan hotel was within 5 minutes walk to two stations and is very well maintained. Highly recommended
Wonderful hotel. Highly recommended!!
Family loved it. Property was clean and comfortable. The area was in walkable distance to the main station. Staff were kind and helpful. Food was delicious. Son loved the free ramen and ice cream bars.
Great experience for the whole family, 2 adults and 3 teens. Enjoyed at home feel in socks, excellent breakfast spread, good onsen and massage chairs!
Lovely design for a modern hotel
A most enjoyable stay in a modern hotel with traditional japanese feel. Nice onsen on site and very well designed room.
The amenities were abundant and useful. The beeakfast, ramen, and ice services were great. Laundry was convenient
Our stay at this property was for 3 nights and it was beyond excellent. They are pretty strict about tattoos so be aware that if they small enough to cover with a skin colored sticker (they provide 2 per guest) then you should be fine. The hot springs were magical and so therapeutic. We had issues trying to ship our luggage to the next destination but one of the girls, her name was Ba, working the front seat was beyond helpful and patient with us despite the language barrier. We were so grateful to her and will definitely be staying there again.
Staying at Onyado Nono Hotel was the best decision we made for our trip! The ambiance and service were incredible. The unlimited ramen at night and the delicious breakfast buffet added so much comfort and enjoyment to our stay. The onsen was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring Kyoto. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend it!
Great service and food.
Great location
Great location, beautiful facilities. Great stay!
Very nice place to stay with kids
I had a great experience start to finish at Onyado Nono from check-in to check-out, my room was comfortable and clean, the food was great and the Onsen experience was better than I could've imagined. The massage chairs and onsite laundry were a huge bonus that I was no anticipating but appreciated.
This hotel has hot spring and mid night free ramen popsicles. Rooms are a little small. Staff are friendly.
I loved and appreciated the services and amenities offered, found the style and aesthetic where traditional meets modern very refreshing and relaxing, and thoroughly enjoyed the onsen, ice cream, and late-night ramen! I really appreciated how attentive and considerate the staff were and how hard they worked to ensure our experience staying at the hotel was pleasant and enjoyable.
Rapid service, very clean and very convenient. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
Relaxing Experience
It was amazing to come back to the hotel and have the option to go to the onsen! The location is not the most convenient but I think it was worth staying here for the onsen experience in Kyoto. The Japanese breakfast was amazing with many options and was super filling. I think the evening noodles was alright but it was nice to have the hot drinks available at the lobby and ice cream after the onsen.
Everything is perfect
The hotel is close to Kyoto Station, which makes it convenient. Close to transportation, shopping, and dining options. The hotel amenities were great (hot springs, free drinks, and ramen, free drinks and snacks, washing machines). The only complaints are we stayed there for 5 days and they don't do any room cleaning (although they do provide fresh towels and Yukata daily) and the room is small.
Very clean. Most staff could speak English and were very friendly and helpful.
Cannot fault the property with tatami mats everywhere just wearing our socks and in house amazing mineral baths (must try!) and relaxation center complete with goodies. The best ever Japanese buffet and international selections free ramen. Plus superb Japanese authentic hospitality and experience by just being inside the hotel. The only one thing i could pick on was how hot my room is and cannot control the aircon but thats it. Everything is just went beyond my high expectations , given the chance would come back to this place in a heartbeat!
Good hotel, okay ryokan
Although this place was good overall, however it felt more like a hotel than a traditional ryokan so for those who are looking for the traditional experience, I would not recommend this place. With that being said, as a hotel or hybrid ryokan, I would recommend this place. The highlight of this ryokan is the location. Less than 10 min walk away from the JR Kyoto Station, which makes it an ideal place to stay when you are planning to look around Kyoto. Furthermore, their buffett breakfast was superb. Very good selections and some foods are cooked in front of you to maximize the freshness. Now to the negative side, this place was very crowded with tourists and noisy families. Also the tatami in our room was not in a great condition. It was scuffed up and looked quite dirty. Other part of the room was nice and clean.
Great place to stay to experience an onsen. The free cold treats at night were perfect for late night snack after visiting the onsen.
Wow wow wow :) I had an amazing time. I definitely will be back. The staff give off happy vibes and very close to places tourists go.
The onsen resort is a 5-10mins walk away from the Kyoto station. Love the onsen facilities, the breakfast and the evening ramen served to guests for free! No housekeeping to make up the room but towels are refreshed daily. It would be great if the trash in the room can be cleared daily.

Great hotel in a great location! We had a very relaxing experience at this place. The pillows were a bit hard but the room had plenty of space and the mattress was comfortable. This was our first time staying at an onsen and while they can get a bit crowded at peak times they were very clean and a great way to relax at the end of the day.
