Firstly I would like to say that the staff and cleanliness of the hotel were above reproach. Special shout out to Luis and Erik, who went above and beyond. Sadly this is all that can be said that was good about this resort. I did my research, read the reviews and picked this resort for a few reasons. Firstly, Expedia states 3 restaurants. This is not the case. There was one restaurant outside of buffet that was spread between 3 resorts. This restaurant did the a la carte on most days but was closed Monday and Tuesday of our stay. First night we did the A la cart I was very ill all night. Buffet was over run with pigeons. They walked all over the "clean tables" and utensils and were frequently shooed out of the kitchen and food area. Second reason I picked this resort as swim up bar, and pools. The swim up bar was closed and we were told hasn't been open in years. The main pool was in horrible shape, loose tiles etc. the second pool has a big sign that says adult only area but was overrun with kids. Security refused to do anything about this. bar at this pool was frequently closed. It wasn't until half way through our vacation that the pool in the adjacent Star Palace was opened. this pool was small but at least the bar was open. the last few nights of our stay, the hotel allowed people to party and blare music past 3 am. it was so bad that people were throwing things off the balconies at the partiers to try to get them to be quiet. Overall I would not recommend this resort.
all good
Everything Exelellent
Decent Hotel Stay
Amazing stay loved the view of the beach. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I do not recommend unless you’re on a budget. I waited 45 minus in the hot humid lobby for my room to be ready. Check-in was crowded and a big mess. There’s only one pool and not nearly enough pool chairs. There’s not enough seating in general. There’s only two bars and there was always a long line. Worst, you had to carry around a hotel cup in order to get drinks. If you didn’t have it, they wouldn’t serve you. There was not enough access to drinking water unless you waited in the bar line or brought down the bottles from your room. The buffet was pretty much the same everyday. It was not appetizing. Some of the items seemed like frozen food meals, and they always ran out of soft drinks and ice. No one wants to drink warm water especially in a room with no air-conditioner. Always a line at the elevators. I will say that the staff was nice, especially Fidel our bartender. He was so patient. My room was great. It was spacious and looked modern. However, the rest of my family slept in outdated humid rooms even though they paid the same as I did. The beach is beautiful, so visit Mazatlán but stay somewhere else.
I don’t write reviews. And this is my first all inclusive, but I was with my sister who is more than well travelled and had just arrived from Asia. If possible, pay the extra money and stay at Riu. I stayed here because I met my family from Mexico and this was more in their price range. Umm not cheap btw. $1400 3 nights. Sub par food, bare minimum on everything. They act like I’m gonna steal their towels or cups. They give you a 10 oz reusable cup in your room that you take down and have to keep reusing all days for the drinks. Gross. Everyone buys thermos on the beach for like $12. Stupid. You have to reserve seating on beach at 7am or your SOL. Bring a pop up cabana if possible. Only one pool. EVERYONE is there. My sis says beach should have water refill stations, and more shaded cabanas. Same with pool. Our room was humid, bathroom is clean, but looks dingy. We did get ocean view as promised but just keep track of receipts. My Expedia app says I paid a deposit when I reserved. Both Expedia and hotel said I didn’t when I arrived to hotel. I checked my cc transactions and have many Expedia transactions for my 3 week trip all over Mexico. I’m weary I got conned out of $450. My sister had a room on 7th floor. No humidity, way better look, toilet paper folded in origami. She paid same price per person. I won’t be going back. I’d tell my family to save a little more next time, or let’s visit a beautiful small town like I’d rather do.
My room smelled like paint. Definitely won’t stay at this location again.
Good location. Hotel was ok. Beds were low and tiny. Our queen bed felt more like a full size.
The pools were so small comparing with the number of guests. Almost always were full of people. at the beach the Bandas were playing too loud
The room was passable but had to ask for toilet paper and soap - the containers were tiny. The kitchen didn’t supply soap- how are you supposed to clean the dishes? The burners were rusted out. We didn’t plan to cook anyway but it was pretty beat up and poorly stocked.
Old and outdated furnishings. Room needed a good deep cleaning. City view windows were filthy. Stairwells not cleaned my entire ten days there. Safety deposit box required maintenance on my arrival and door required a striker plate and then I was locked out of my room until further repair to lockset. Response to my requests were prompt and chambermaid was very accommodating. Paid big and didn't even get breakfast included.5/10.
The elevators are dirty and the room had smelled like humidity
My room smelled very very bad, as well as the hallway. Very disappointed about the buffet. Very limited choices, and food was horrible. I expected more from an all inclusive hotel. Bad experience overall, I will never stay in that hotel .
Ok
We have been to Mazatlan 7 or 8 times and have always stayed at Oceano Palace. It is very family-oriented. The beach is lovely. It is also close to many family owned restaurants near by. You do need to enjoy Banda music if you stay here.
Too noisy. Could not get to sleep. Scratchy bedding
Lobby staff not very friendly and accomadating.
The place was old and outdated. The beds in the room were the worst I’ve ever slept in. When I first checked in the shower was not working. I would not recommend this place for a vacation stay.
I didn't like the swimming pool is too small and always full during the day and they close to early at nights. Also, elevators are too small and is only two and the stairs are not easy available. Everything else it was really good!!!
Only issue was getting a lounge chair, they were all taken before 9 am. They really need to get more.
This place sucks
A/C sucks, noise level high, maintenance every 2 days and consistently had to ask for clean towels
BE CAREFULL!!
This hotel chain has really declined in the past years. This year my family and I went and service was horrible, elevators were very limited, cleaning service was not done on a daily basis - consistently asking for clean towels, ac hardly was working. Asked for maintenance on AC 3 days later they show up - still ac was warm. Customer service was non existent. They charged my credit card 2x and now have to dispute with bank - just not a very good experience this year - very dissapointed
This needs a lot of improvements the worst property that I had ever stay at super dirty very smelly and staff is not nice at all would never stay in this property ever again 0 ⭐️
Customer service is non existant. A complete dissapointment. Management never took time to ask what they could do for us. Oceano Palace is a motel by no means a hotel. Food was pretty dissapointing. Tried charging us $100 per COVID test when most hotels do it for free and airport does it for $28.00. Do not waste your money at the Mazatlan Palace "hotels".
Pools are nice and clean.
Had a leak from the ceilung in my bathroom also the toilet paper holder was loose bent down.
It was over crowded. Staff lacks customer service skills. Food was the same everyday during our stay there. It was bland/no taste. Servers served and touched food on your plate with bare hands. Gross!! Rooms were okay. We did go there on memorial weekend; this could be why it was overcrowded. We will not stay in this resort again. Very disappointed.
Food was awful. Very disappointed. And you can't get into a restaurant if you have not schedule your visit, even if the restaurant is EMPTY...
The rooms were very dirty The sink was cracked. Do doors were lose. The food was bad. The security was bad. The people were drunk. The beds were hard.
Loved it, would stay again. Food was amazing.
The service was really bad I paid for all inclusive the food was not good at all there’s no social distancing there was loud music played all night till three 4 o’clock in the morning people were loud no respect at all the staff did not do anything about the situation The four nights That we were there we only had one quiet night do not recommend this hotel at all for a quiet vacation
It’s in a great location, you can get anywhere from here, via walking, buses taxis. The rooms are very clean but very basic, so if you don’t need much then it’s perfect. The food could be better, it was ok. Lots of other options outside of hotel. The gym is really nice, good equipment. The biggest downfall for me was, there were way to many kids!! They were everywhere!!! So I more than likely won’t stay there again because it’s to family friendly for me.
Great service and atención waiters were cordial and allways there
The hotel was packed and there was not enough employees for so many people. The rroms were old and the beds not so comfortable. I opened the glass shower door and it broke in pieces. I'm just glad the kids were not the ones in the shower when it happened
Not clean and warm at the reception and around bar
Not that bad not that great
For the price it's alright. Reported no water for toilet nobody ever showed up. Parking is awful security wants money to allow you to park if not they send you far away
It was good but not amazing! I really didn’t like the food out there and drinks weren’t strong. But what I did like was that you can eat or use the pool at all 4 hotels that are connected. I would definitely go back to Mazatlán but Stay in a different Hotel
Do not stay here!!!! Worst customer service & it’s filthy!!!! Check in was at 3 & the room wasn’t ready till 3:30. You’re not staying in this hotel they have 3 and they put you were they want. The food is Disgusting! Like really bad! The room I got was filthy and unsanitary! I recommend you pick another hotel!
I wasn’t able to check in until 7:30 when it clearly says check in at 3pm. The last day I was there the water was disconnected so we had no running water.
No Hot water! Whenever we realized it, we immediately went to the let the people in the front desk know. Nothing was done. We reported it 3 times to different people and it never got resolved! The food was horrible! The snack bar was not even open. The service was mediocre. I don’t recommend it at all. I have paid the same amount for other beach destinations in Mexico and have received way better service. This is expensive for bad service and hotel. I will never go back!
excellent servers and attention
i was given the best service attention by the following servers
Everything was perfect, even though there was a lot of construction going on honestly everyone is so helpful and willing to help it doesn’t fill like construction zone. The only thing I would change at the hotel is the mattress nothing else.
The hospitality and prifessionalism was excellent. Very attentive with evefything. Very nice
i like the fact that it was easy to check in and check out
The property was undergoing repairs as well as street repairs The room was across the clubs were it was loud until The late nights, were not told non of the above. Overall terrible experience
It was very difficult to get change. Plus the hotel has a 2 peso mark up which is more than 10 percent
Food was good, infinity pool was nice! The bands that play on the beach are very loud!!!
Staff all very friendly, property was clean. Only con is the pool is a little chopped up.
Under contruction a lot of noise thru the day and the rooms where not very clean
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, a lot don't speak much english but they make do or find someone else who can help. Affordability, location and gorgeous ocean view. Access to the 4 different hotels was somewhat helpful but we mostly just used the amenities at oceano and park. Cons: The room was not cleaned well the first day the bottom sheet only covered half the bed and there were hairs all over the sheets. Some days we were given face towels and other days not so very inconsistent. The food was mediocre, the buffet was better than most of the restaurants on site. The mexican option was the best dinner we had. Amenities were okay but it was slow in January and on the day the weather was the coldest none of the pools or the hot tub were heated... It is outdated but it is easy to get on a bus and get into town for the day, the ocean view is well worth the extra cost.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Oceano Palace and would definitely stay there again, either as all inclusive or otherwise. The staff members were more than helpful at all times and we were sorry to leave. Our room was clean and comfortable, the food was certainly ample and diversified enough for anyone to be happy about the choices they were given. We would recommend this to anyone wishing an all-inclusive in Mazatlan. Our room was on the third floor, in the Pacific Palace section of the hotel, overlooking the ocean and it was very quiet there.
The room AC was not working, we reported twice and the staff called to check but never works, towels very old needs for owner to renew
THE SERVICE IS REALLY BAD . THEY HAVE AN ATTITUDE AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE FOR EVERYTHING..... NOT AMUSED NY THEM
Older hotel but first class all the way
When you travel to different countries the culture is most important . My stay here in almost 99% Mexican guests was what I wanted I enjoyed all of it . the staff took care of me with my english only . from morning to evening I enjoyed all the entertainment and the different restaurants.
The food was tasty. Very helpful staff. The loud drums in the morning and night was annoying
This place is worst all inclusive resort I have stayed at. Reception staff is not professional at all and un organized. Rooms are very outdated and maintained poorly. Beds are uncomfortable and old. Did not rest while at this resort. The buffet option is gross. Food options are very limited and cleanliness is very much needed. I had to search for a plate on the stack to find one that didn’t have food remains from previous person that used once they were washed supposedly. Definitely a very bad experience here. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. I will pay 2-3 hundred dollars more per nite and stay somewhere better.
The view was nice , pool was okay , pool bar and snack bar are closed on Wednesday, food was ok
Liked the area, near beach. Our room was in need of renovation. Staff was not friendly, food was not tasty. Lobby was not air conditioned, no where to sit and cool off.
The property was nice. The problem was they served the same food on the buffet every day and most of the staff was racist against white people. There were 3 of the wait staff that actually served us and didn’t just stand and look at us or even ignore us completely. Even management treated us different
I didn't like the mess with the people and the lack of information when I went to check out my room..
Horrible the people I the front desk, the manager was super rude. The room super old, look dirty, we even had a water leak in the ceiling.
Outdated facility noisy and overbooked terrible food poor choices Would not return
I will never stay in this Hotel again. I had money stolen from my room and when I went to complain they told me that i should of left it in the safety box. Only problem is that the safety box was broken. We called the police. They claimed it wasnt the fist time. The hotel did not want to take responsibility and threatened to kick me out without giving me a refund. I had my 4 and 8 year old with me. Worst experience ever. Thanks for ruining my trip.
The property had a beautiful location with great views and an excellent balcony. The rooms were big and spacious yet to get towels for coffee or water it was like pulling teeth. Also one thing to note, if you don’t speak Spanish you will have trouble communicating at this property.
Not the best place I’ve stayed, but it wasn’t the worst either. Food was tasty but not many options and they really need to put labels the food (e.g. pork in salsa, beef, chicken enchiladas, etc.), specially for those with food restrictions.
Excellent staff, beautiful beaches, and delicious food. We especially loved the Italian restaurant for dinner. This resort was a great location and a great value
Loved the staff! Beautiful views of the ocean and great food! Such a great value!
A very relaxing and satisfying retreat. The staff were very friendly and accommodating...especially Phillips and Edgar at the lobby bar. The rooms were neat and a good size and the food was good for the value . I would totally return .
Super
La ubicacion y la atencion
Buen hotel
Recomendable
EL LUGAR MUY BIEN. SUS INSTALACIONES MUY BIEN. LA ATENCIÓN DEL PERSONAL EN EL INTERIOR MUY BIEN. EL AREA DE PLAYA MUY LIMPIO. LA ALBERCA LIMPIA TAMBIÉN. LA HABITACIÓN MUY CÓMODA. LO QUE DEJO A DEBER FUE SU CHECKIN. EL PERSONAL DE RECEPCIÓN MUY DESORDENADO.
Bien .
Nicenannd close to the beach

It was alright
Our first room had mold , and the second was freshly painted we had no other option. Food was okay, and drinks.
