The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was amazing.
Great location with a stunning view from the room window. Food was excellent. Room was very spacious and well appointed. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay.
Lovely place
The staff were great, the room was lovely and clean, the food was superb.
Property was nice enough, but was a 75.00 place vs a 125.00 place. Wifi did not work. Sink is super oddly placed, so water ends up on floor. Bed was a giant hard lump with many lumps. Food was okay. I did not like my stroganoff as it was bland, but the Sticky Toffee Pudding was the best i had this entire week I've been travelling around Scotland.
We did not like the room and the bed was not confortable at all but it is at a small location don´t remember if there were many other options,
One overnight stay. The hotel is in a good location opposite market square car park. Limited parking in front of the hotel. We were in room14 which has great views to the seafront. There were no toiletries provided in the bathroom which has a stepped entrance. The room is nicely decorated, but the hotel entrance lobby is a very dark brown and needs to be brightened up. Breakfast choice was limited to fresh juice and main breakfast dish cooked to order, tea or coffee. No cereals or yogurt etc. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Loved the area and the food there was amazing.
Enjoyed our stay Thank you..!
ok
Clean room, bed comfortable breakfast lovely

The staff were fantastic despite being run off their feet at mealtimes. Always pleasant and chatty. Could not fault anything at all.
Lovely stay with lovely hosts, would highly recommend.
Would recommend as a plan B
Pros: The bar staff were amazing! The food was fresh and very tasty. Beautiful view from the bedroom. Well located. Cons: the reception staff is nonexistent. The decor is very dated. The rooms are cramped, If they took out the two chairs and table and put a dressing table instead, it would be a lot more convenient.
There’s only 3 rooms in the hotel that have a sea side room views we didn’t get one as per requested …. Hotels.com need to not post seaside views if there is none
Conveniently located, clean, and quiet. As a solo female traveler, safety is a top priority, and I felt completely safe for my stay. The staff were all kind and welcoming as well! I will definitely stay here again if I’m ever in the area.

Hotel decor overall was ok a little old down stairs. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and sleep was a problem. The windows could be replaced giving a better seal as noise from the morning chorus of sea gulls started from 3.30am
Centrally located, interesting town, liked that the beach was nearby. The shower temperature was very difficult to maintain. It was either too cold or too hot, and we could not figure out how to control it.
Would stay again
Friendly helpful staff. Clean room and bathroom although very small. Central location
Clean, comfortable, great location.
2nd time we’ve stayed there in a sea view room, amazing once again. Will be back.
Great central location
Loved the location and the friendly staff! Lovely breakfast included.
It's all about the sea view
Sea view with sliding door was fantastic. The room was quite tired looking with wallpaper peeling off the wall and old cupboards. Breakfast was lovely with great quality ingredients especially the haggis and black pudding. Staff were very friendly and chatty.
Lovely waking up to a sea view.
What can say.. really welcoming and marge was amazing
Well presented property that feels newly decorated. Great stay and nice food. Would stay again!
Comfortable and friendly
Lovely room very comfortable but no mirror in room for hair drying etc!
Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely meals. Reasonably priced. be back again soon.
Thumbs down, sorry!
Location was good. Room was tiny, bed was awful… to hard, mattress has lost suspension so it felt like sleeping on concrete! There was a problem with the heating, no heat throughout. Staff suggested the radiators may need bleeding, they ended up bringing a plug in radiator which helped as the room was freezing. Staff were pleasant. Wouldn’t stay here again though.
Convenient to places we visited
Nice quiet hotel with restaurant and bar downstairs. Easy parking and other food and drink option very close.
Great
Great place, lovely food, great sleep.
Good economy stay
excellent service at reception, and bar / restaurant, and good value. Room was very small soprobablyone night was enough. very damp smell in small shower room, think there may be some plumbing issues. Reported on check out and I am sure they will investigate. Late afternoon street parking was a bit of a challenge.
Two night stay on coastal walking trip
Bedroom & ensuite was clean & very ‘cosy’. Bed was very comfortable. Scottish breakfast was plentiful & delicous.
Hotel stay was booked and paid for back in June. On arrival we were questioned about non payment of room and advised it was down to paying by Amex. Never used Amex in my life , lucky i had downloaded the Expedia app to prove payment.
Pleasant stay at No 44
Nice basic hotel , good staff / food and right next to beach . Recommended
It has a real personal touch. The staff go out of their way for you. When you finish your time at a hotel and are genuinely sad to leave, you know it’s a special place. If I could give them 6 stars I would! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Great base for Stonehaven
Just one street from the sea and 5 minutes walk to harbour or the lido, the hotel is in a great location. Excellent breakfast, quick check-in and allowed us to leave bags after we checked out.
Pleasantly surprised
Pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, friendly staff at check in. Fabulous selection for breakfast and all beautifully presented and delicious. Not enough tables set for breakfast, we came down at 9.45 and would suggest going earlier for better service.
The location is wonderful. For sanitary conditions a toilet paper roll holder would be nice. Also since the bathrooms do not have much space some additional hooks on the wall would be helpful.
The Hotel suited my needs for my visit to Stonehaven well. The Scottish cooked breakfast was good The shower above the bath wasn’t convenient for me at my age.
Room was clean and breakfast superb.
Genuine Sea View
Great location, nice staff and really is on the seafront. Good food and really top place to stay in Stonehaven
good stay .
we booked here at the last minute due to a job running late . the hotel is older but the owners have spent money here its more boutique style [ my opinion] which i like . the staff very helpful and rooms very comfortable , bang in town center for everything . my only issue was not the hotel but some other guests who forget other people trying to sleep . but unfortualty this happens in many places . i would def stay here again if i had the chance.
Friendly staff and lovely breakfast
The staff at the hotel are really great. The breakfast was great quality and excellent. The sea view from the room was beautiful but the room itself needed some attention. Clean but tired looking and an odd layout so bed a small double, which could be easily corrected removing the partition wall
break with wife
good hotel food good and staff very friendly
Absolutely loved staying here, accommodation excellent as were the staff. Will definitely be back and highly recommend. Beautiful view of the sea front from our bedroom just added that little bit extra to our stay.
Told us we never has reservation and left us on the street with no other hotels available had to then get taxi to aberdeen and pay for another hotel. Can someone please call me on 07879990249. Marc powell
Enjoyed our stay at 44
Great location right in the center of town. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The room clean and fresh. Breakfast and the food in the restaurant is great. We were very pleased with our stay and do recommend this hotel to others, Although the hotel does not have private parking you can park on the street for fre right outside the hotel.
Loved our stay at Number 44. The hotel far exceeded our expectations for a seaside hotel. Paid a little extra for a sea view which was amazing - floor to ceiling window looking out over the bay. Bed super comfy and delicious table service breakfast. Will definitely be back
Newly refurbished
1 night room 44. No sea view. First impressions.... the hotel looked like it had just been refurbished and to a high standard. Was told free parking out front but could only see limited hour parking with no return. So went and paid in council carpark. Was told later to ignore council parking sign. ? Lovley comfortable bed and room. Again refurbished Lovley however bathroom not that clean. Dirty shelf and old soap down side of cupboard. Glass shelf made it impossible to wash face over sink. Felt safe. Located in town by water. Good wifi. Meals were very nice and breakfast was super. Would stay again
nice hotel let down by the bed
great location. bed was uneven and uncomfortable mattress needs replacing. staff friendly and breakfast nice.
booked sea veiw room and boy was it sea view a totally glass wall looking across a very close beach and sea.The hotel in general could do with a wee bit of t l c but nothing really bad .the food in the hotel is really nice had a lovely evening meal down at the bar/ dining room breakfast was in the dining room the dining showed how the hotel would halved look when first built and breakfast was really really nice
Nice area
Really nice and enjoyed our stay
Excellent stay.
On street parking outside the hotel, bedroom backed on to the sea with the sound of waves helping you off to sleep. 2 minute walk on to Stonehaven Beach. A must stay if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Stonehaven.
Nice central hotel for visit to Stonehaven.
Very nice room overlooking sea. Central location. Staff very helpful. Very good breakfast.
Carpet in hallway and stairs in poor and dirty condition. Room was clean but small. Breakfast was excellent
Restaurant was good and do was the Food served No chair in the room. Impossible to get a good contrôle of the water temperature
OK for one night
Twin room very small. Bathroom small. No mirror on room wall for doing hair, makeup. The beds were very hard. When down for evening meal to find we should have booked. The breakfast was large, but too greasy for our taste. All staff were very helpful. This hotel and bar needs money spent on it, does look as renovation have started. Don't think we would stay again, used only as it was very central for show in Town Hall.
Friendly and helpful staff. The room and en suite were clean and tidy. Bar gets busy but staff try to look after people eating. Evening meal was good but breakfast disappointing.
Location for beach , harbour and market town very good. Rooms were comfortable and did have sea view, breakfast was good. Stair carpet was well worn and ill fitting so didn’t give a good first impression
Sweet little room with an amazing view of the North Sea. Scrumptious breakfast!
Cute room, good location
Cute room, great location in the heart of Stonehaven. Good food with gluten free options. Room a bit small, but served the two of us perfectly. Friendly staff.
A disappointing accommodation
I was disappointed with our stay here. The hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. However, the room was very disappointing. First, there was a loud fan in the bathroom that wouldn't turn off. Ultimately, as we were unable to fix the issue (and they were fully booked), they showed us how to flip on and off the breaker in the hallways to the bathroom which would turn off the fan. They also provided us some electric lamps for lighting so we could use the bathroom without turning on the lights. The room overlooked the ocean, which was fantastic. However, as it was long-days, there were no blackout curtains so the room was very bright starting at 2:30am. The bed was very, very uncomfortable (uneven in parts). Additionally, because of the dampness of the area, the room has a marked mildew smell. No signs of mold or anything and it did not bother my asthma or hay-fever, but the smell was just unpleasant. Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel for the price. Our experience (other than with the staff who were wonderful) was just not satisfactory, especially for the price.
The sea view and the room was very spacious and clean
Number 44
An OK accommodation, rooms were clean but a bit small.
Hotel is nice and central. Evening meal was fabulous. Staff extremely nice, and helpful.
Brilliant place to stay and the food was brilliant
just what I required for the 1 night stay
Everything was perfect. The lady set us up. Nicely. Extra towels. And new remote. Great food and great breakfast
Nice hotel near beach, enjoyed our overnight stay, room clean bed comfy, lovely bathroom, great shower, and the Scottish breakfast was fantastic.
Highlights - great brekkie and lovely people working at the hotel. The decor is a little old and for me there was a problem with getting hot water to come out as the systems had been shut down over the xmas period, but staff were really helpful, and I even enjoyed a room upgrade! thanks guys for a great stay
Not good, cold and charged twice for stay, worst I have been for a kind time.

Lovely hotel, rooms were nice, lovely view of the beach. Food was 10/10, portion sizes were big and well priced
