it was nice and clean and very professional staff
I have stayed here many times on business. It is a once very nice and now decent place to stay in a wonderful location, at a good price and with a good breakfast. This time, unlike all the other times, I noticed that the room (especially the bathroom) were not as clean as usual.
I have stayed here twice. The hotel is aged, but nice. Bathrooms have been updated in most rooms and some other updates have been completed in recent years. Continental breakfast is good. Good if you have business in Frankfurt Bockenheim or Westend and are on a limited budget.
Booked this for my son for one night. He said the room was great.
Great location if you have business in Bockenheim or Westend of Frankfurt. Walkable to the Univeristy of Frankfurt. One of the two affordable hotels in that area and the only one I have found that still offers breakfast. The breakfast is good. Continental. Staff is professional: the front desk manager spoke at least German and English, perhaps other languages as well. So, international guests would feel welcomed. Rooms are a bit dated but bathrooms and some other aspects of the rooms have been updated. Rooms are also spacious by European standards. The hotel certainly has some “faded glory” vibes, but it is a good place to stay if you need a place to rest, have breakfast and get to work the following morning.
.
Not good staff
Good central location for exploring and meals. Front desk staff not overly friendly. Smoked and chatted all night outside rooms on the back, making it hard to sleep or keep window open.
Great
The people are very nice
The staff where unfriendly and not helpful at all.
Would have preferred more options for breakfast, but the facilities and surrounding areas are lovely. Staff are extremely helpful.
Everyone is so nice
Friendly and socialable
No blind or curtain in my room
My bedroom's blind was broken so broad daylight and sun came into the room at 4am. I spoke to reception the night before asking how to work the blind and they said it was broken. The window was very big, almost the size of a double bed. I asked how they could sell a room without a blind or curtain and their answer was they were waiting for the engineer to fix it. They were fully booked so couldnt change my room. At 4am, my room was in bright daylight. At 7am I went to reception and they said nothing they can do. So I showed them a photo, said I'd put it on the review, and only then did they offer to change my room. I asked for a refund too and their answer was "I'm not sure". At 10am I went into the new room they had given me, opened the door, and a man was still showering in there. So the room they switched me to wasn't vacant. I apologised to the poor guy who's room I entered and they then switched me to a 3rd room that was fine. Conclusion: It wasnt until II said I would put a photo of it on the review that they tried to help. I was at a trade fair with meetings all day, and to be woken up at 4am is not acceptable. If the hotel chooses to read this, I would expect a full refund at the very least.
Clean, spacious, enjoyable area.
Clean, spacious, and enjoyed the area. Lots of eating options, shops and a supermarket nearby. Transport easily accessible. Gardens close by. Arrived early, and the front desk checked me in straight away. Friendly, helpful. Would stay again in Frankfurt.
We stayed here during our visit to the Frankfurt Christmas markets and hotel was nice, very close to the city centre, supermarket round the corner and close to the tram. Breakfast buffet was simple and but did the job, fulfilling. Staff very quick to check us in, very friendly. I would recommend this hotel if going for the weekend
laura was the only staff that was help.
Breakfast was good
Excellent! Great location. Close to the Goethe University, the Palm Garden, and shopping and food on Leipziger Strasse. Also close to U-Bahn connections (about 4 blocks).
Staff friendly. Room clean. Breakfast very good, variety choices.
Was nice clean room, but lift didn't always work the whole time there. Lot of stairs to walk on the 6th floor.
Friendly staff
Friendly staff, able to leave bags safely. Breakfast was good and choices available. Beds were uncomfortable and there was one rubbish flat pillow on the beds, we asked for another pillow and they didn't have any for us so they gave us one extra duvet between three of us which wasn't much help. Although the room was clean there was a cockroach on the bathroom floor one morning! The electrics flickered and some light bulbs were broken and buzzed. We were a group of three adults and the bed was set up on the sofa bed which was very hard and the slats made lots of noise. There were only two cups/glasses in our room and they weren't washed or changed daily.
Perfect stay at comfortable hotel
It's a great little hotel in a great location: near a small pedestrian precinct with restaurants/outside seating, grocery stores, etc. It feels like a small city. There is also the Palmengarten 10 mins walk away, the Botanical Garden and the Grueneburgpark. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast! The room was spacious, the window could be opened. It was a perfect stay.
Rooms very clean, friendly staff, great breakfast and coffee. Only downside is no irons or ice/refridgeraters. Otherwise I would stay again.
Especially liked the breakfast setup--never ran out of food, always topped off (right up until closing); breakfast staff was noticeably efficient, friendly, and helpful Shower was exceptional--no low-flow shower heads here Location excellent--easy walk to subway, trams, and buses, and the ReWe (supermarket) was nearby
The building is a little old, but the property is clean. The shades of the room did not work. Some of the staff were not friendly (ladies were surper nice, guys were rather rude). People from brakefast and cleaning were super nice too.
Nothing was unique
Easy going staff
Convenient to s-bahn, Autobahn access as well as ease of access to the Stadt. Ruhig. Staff customer service and friendliness. Frühstück 👍.
Botched reservation
My reservation was for a Comfort Triple Room (supposed one Double and one Twin bed), but I only got a "Comfort Room" with one Double bed, no extra Twin bed. too few towels and the bathroom floor was ice cold Breakfast was ok.
Very neat, spacious rooms, and wonderful staffs to help you navigate the city.
Overall the hotel was an Ok place to stay, but the electrical system in the room was very confusing. The location was a little too out of the center, but that is on me. I would still recommend this hotel.
There was no air conditioner working
Great hotel in a great location
Property is well kept but in the room there is no AC or a small fridge.
Review
Hotel is clean and well priced in a quiet area with courteous staff. Amenities in the rooms have been reduced, no microwave or fridge. Otherwise excellent valure for price.
Good location, walk to stores and public transportation. Good breakfast for the price and friendly staff. The wifi was bad and the room lacked an iron and ironing board as well as a mini-bar.
very good.
Good palace, good restoran, rooms are clean, bathrooms are good
This property is long overdue for an upgrade. Carpets are old and dirty, furniture is not in a good condition.
This hotel is centrally located to the Frankfurt Messe and by a university. Just a few block comfortable walk from the underground and linking you to high speed trains and the airport. The rooms are clean, with free wifi and TV, safe, coffee pot and that is it. The area is very safe and pleasant. Great for business, budget travel or tourists wanting experiences that are not a fancy hotel stay.
Easy check-in Easy commute Not too noisy Room spacious
Good location short walk u bahn. Nice surrounding area
Sehr gut
I had to request a discount because the curtain system didn’t work. It’s the reflection of the city lights getting trough the room window. They didn’t have another room available. In Germany the curtains system are Installed outside of the window to block 100% the light that comes from outside
Novum Hotel is just a 5 min walk to a major metro stop, grocery store, cafe and bars. The room is very clean but you won't be spending much time there because there is soooo much to do in Frankfurt.
Clean and staff was helpful advising of subway routing .
The room was good as well as the location. Could have been nice to have a bottle of water as an amenity.
It is clean and conveniently located. There is no A/C in the room and no iron/board to use at hand. Staff may enter your room to clean up earlier in the morning (10am).
Nice stay
I’ve had a pleasant experience at this hotel: it was clean, comfy, and overall nice. The staff was professional and spoke English perfectly, plus the area was great. The only con was not having a fridge, but it was a minor setback.
Imperial hotel provided services worth the cost
Very good stay
The air conditioning did not work in our room. I checked with the front desk and they were aware of the problem. It was in the high 90's while we were there. It was cooler in the hallway then in our room. We were given a small fan for the day it was 96 degrees. While checking out, another guest also complained about not having air conditioning in her room.
Average stay for lots of money
Extremely expensive for rather no frills room. I have forgotten my iPhone charger, reception could not help. People very kind
worst place we stayed on trip. rude staff, shades did not work on windows, and had to pay extra for parking.
Nice hotel with good transport links to city
Rooms were very spacious and comfortable beds. We were also grateful for the air-conditioning as it was very warm weather at the time of our visit. Our main reason for booking this hotel was to visit family who lived in nearby Ginnheim ( 2 tram stops away) Excellent transport links to the city centre and surrounding areas.
Excellent location and wonderful facilities. Restaurants, public transportation and shopping are just a block away. A bonus is the two large parks that are within easy walking distance. Overall, an excellent place to stay and travel from while in Frankfurt!
small old room, overprice, under service, bad location.
Low value for money, outdated, not a great location
The hotel looks and feels very outdated; it's clear they're trying to save costs by compromising on guests' comfort. I had to work late evenings and found it difficult to read anything as rooms don't have ceiling lights and reception has not been able to provide a reading lamp despite repeated requests. Beds are tiny (I didn't get a double despite requesting one and paying for 2 peoples' stay rather than just 1). Duvets look like they're for children, and I am a petite woman, so no idea how someone else would be able to sleep under one of them. Bathroom toiletries were cheap and full of chemicals so impossible to use.
Location Safe But not good rooms Close to Messe Quiet
A good middle quality hotel close to the city centre.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, clean room, comfortable beds, and good breakfast. I will highly recommend it to someone. I do not have any negative comment about it. I will go back there in few years
We never come back this hotel again : chair blocked No internet , no deck phone , ...
Had no other choice
Not worth the money
It states the hotel is within walking distance to Messe Trade Fair. But it is actually one stop by underground train. The hotel is old. There is no heating in my room.
Good location. It's located on nice quiet street close to everything.
Amazing Stay
Very amazing stay. Rooms are very clean, cozy and big. The reception staff is very feiendly. The washroom is well equipped and clean. I am very happy with their service. It was like home.
Staff, the guy in the reception, I don’t know if he is having a bad day, but I’m not the one who made his day a bad one, so, next time at least a bit better welcoming, i work in the touristy area so I know about this, plus an smile is always free..
There was a glasses lady she was young, When I entered to reception desk , She did not say anything I waited her 7-8 minutes after she said passport, What a disgusting behaviours and her face was fighting with me and I did not like her all behaviours.
Many additional fees
Nice hotel, Excellent staff. will be visiting again
Hotel is well located in Bockenheim close to where meetings brought me to Frankfurt. Cafes, a supermarket and a U-Bahn (metro) station are all nearby. Hotel was good value for the money, and the staff were quite helpful with requests.
very bad customer service
their Internet was broken down with no response even a simple apology
Good location
Nice room and location, however one last night the cleaning staff made our beds and that's it. Left our dirty cups and glasses along with our dirty towels in the room. Gave us no top on coffee, sugar or creamer. Sad end to a great stay in Frankfurt
It was great!
No a.c.
I’m on the top floor with no a.c. And only one window opens..... can’t even get my money back
Nice hotel close to great food area and Palmengart
All good except the aircon had broken down. Fortunately a fan was supplied but in such hot weather it was a bit difficult. Breakfast was great and reception was excellent and very helpful.
A cheap hotel but you get what you pay for
Requested a room with a queen bed specifically and the room we got had no working air conditioner, had a glass window which wouldn’t even open, and an electronic blind system that would not close the window. It was too hot to stay in the room. Finally moved to another room, but this had only 2 single beds placed together. The A/C was not working properly in this room too, burn thankfully the window at least could be opened. The front desk staff are not particularly helpful and were more or less indifferent about the a/c.
Great stay. Thank you.
It was pleasant.
Nice hotel 2 stops from hauptbahnof
Easy to get to the main station . Clean large rooms better than those in hotels at hauptnahnof and nicer area . Bockenheimer warte feels safer and has more to do
Decent but not the best.
A decent stay in Frankfurt. Rooms are large and spacious and also very clean. The hotel is about 15 minutes walking distance from the trains. The only issues I have with this property is that the heat did not work in the room and the older lady at the front desk was extremely rude. The staff did provide us with a small heater to keep warm.
Good hotel
Nothing special does everything you expect for the price. Rooms are clean and spacious
nice area. Easy to get to places by walking
Have stayed here twice. Has been very nice. Is convenient to public transportation.
Sweet
Got there really late 1in the morning and there was someone still at reception to help out and over all really nice place to stay. What was really good was coffee and tea free in the room
Not too bad
It was nice clean big room, tv was rubbish. Our room was facing the street and lots of noise from cars through the night
Good location
Good location and the move to most of the city frankfurt
Frankfurt arrival halt on German Holiday.
Nice hotel, good location, great price.
Relaxing and comfortable
It was an overall good experience, everything was taken care of, clean, beds in good condition, WiFi strong, reasonable price, we only missed a fridge.
Central enough to local shops and eateries.
Used this hotel twice for local sporting event. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Happy to chat and deal with any questions. Parking available. Close to local public transport with nice eateries a short walk away.
Conveniently located
Room was clean, staff was very friendly, rate was affordable. Close to U-bahn, shopping, grocery stores. Could hear occasional guests in the hallway but nothing that kept us up at night.
run-down hotel
This is a run-down hotel with some important amenities missing, for example, no ironing board in the room and no laundry service. When I asked for an ironing board, I was told I had to use it in the breakfast area because the electrical system was too old and was not recommended. The AC no working in my room and when I informed the front desk, the answer was “we only use AC when it gets over 25 degrees but you can open the window. Water will always come out of the shower onto the floor.
Fantastic hotel in frankfurt!
The member is very excellent. Very close to messe!
novum imperial frankfurt
What a dreadful company, they took my payment. Then when I arrived, they had re sold the room. They moved me to an awful hotel in the middle of Frankfurt red light district. They are crooks. Don't ever book with them or pay in advance
Happier staff please! More staff please
I was the fourth in the queue but I had to wait for check in for more than 30 minutes, queueing and standing. One of member staff was available only and we all seemed to be transparent to this person. No verbal comfort was given not to mention apology offered. In the end, i was escorted to my room due that the key to my room was not able to be found or activated.
Convenient for the Messe
Stayed here for the trade fair and its a 20 minute pleasant walk to the entry. The Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful though the hotel could maybe do with a bit of updating as it looks a bit tired generally. Room was clean and decent size, good shower, and not too hot as they usually are. Breakfast was very reasonable at €12.90 for selection of cold pastries, cereals, breads, fruit salad and cooked eggs with sausages or bacon. For a business trip such as ours it was very good.
Great stay
Excellent stay, only a few blocks away from the train and 2 stops away from the central station. The neighborhood felt more residential and less touristy, which I loved. The area was safe and the staff was friendly and helpful. If I return to Frankfurt, I will definitely look to stay here again.
Hotel manager was agressive should not be in this industry other expedia clients unhappy as well.
Easy walk to Frankfurt Messe
We needed a few hours stay over. Room was clean. Place looked nice. They should consider to give free Wi-Fi so many already do.
