All was good. Nice city view.
The hotel is very old. The bathroom was full of mould around the tiles and the silicone in the shower. The floor in the rooms were visibly dirty and required vacuuming. The indoor pool is extremely outdated. The staff were lovely and helpful.
Excellent!
Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is a bit old - needs to upgrade
Stay clear of this trashy hotel
Hotels.com is getting worse by the day. They are recommending hotels which have no standard. I tried phoning this hotel as well as contacting them by mail and could never get through. I then contact hotels.com because I could not travel as I was sick and they could not get through. What a joke
Great Hotel, Noisy Elevators
It was a great hotel; however, the pool was not open. That was a major disappointment. The administration should do something about the sound produced by the elevator ducts. There is a constant humming sound coming from them. The poor front desk people must deal with that sound all day long. Perhaps a set of extra doors separating the aisle would be enough. The administration of the building should think about their employees, too. The restaurant dinning service was not good for the prices. Service was fine, but should be better.
Everything was very good, except for the bad conditions of the bathroom and all the mho in the shower.
2nd time staying in this hotel. Happy with the service but the swimming pool and fitness room were closed during my stay.
No AC, Very bad Wi-fi
The Hotel its nice but it was not a nice stay: 1) we had two room and we find out that The AC was not working, because they said was still cool outside and they offer to open the windows #!!@. 2) The Wi-Fi connection was unbelievable slow and from some device I was not able to connect at all. 3) they claim they have a Wired internet connection but in both rooms the hub where you should connect was not connected to anything and there was not power cord attached to it. 4) of the 3 elevator they have only 1 will work (they alternate them) that will result in awfully long wait time for the elevator to arrive at your floor and many stops in the elevator before you get to your destination. I can list many other problem (swimming pool, breakfast and so on) but I don’t think will be fair for the people working there, because most of the hotel stuff has been very nice and I just hope that the management fix all those problems, because if they do this hotel will be a very nice one to choose, I have been there twice already, hoping that will be improved this time but unfortunately was worst.
I’d stay here again
The service here is wonderful. Used the gym daily and pool is in full service. Enjoyed taking advantage of their room service special. You can also get food delivered here too. Room is spacious and people are friendly. 5 min walk to Pudong Ave. Station and about 20 mins to Century Park Station
Good location and good view. Easy to access and clean
A standard International brand hotel
This is for a business trip for our company, basically, the room is good and spacious, however, the air conditioner did not function very well. Verity choices for breakfast, local style, the international style also have. The hotel also arrange a chef to make the fresh egg, noodles & etc
safety, location, quality, price vs infrastructure, great restaurant with live music in the 50th floor, also great food international options in the 2nd floor restaurant.
Nice hotel
The view was anazing
Good location with convenient food and transportation.
Awesome views of the Shanghai skyline from above the 30th floor hotel rooms
Great staff. No ac, room sweltering hot in autumn. Otherwise lovely.
Very clean and smells good. The crew are very helpful. The foods are good too :)
I got upgraded to room with terrific view. Room was in great condition. Breakfast was fantastic.
very good room
1. room spacious 2. it has bathtub 3. bed comfortable all are perfect
Very nice and pleasant place, I like that and offer it
a superb hotel is located at the heart of the Shanghai financial centre, the Lujiazui area.
Staff wasn't helpful to foreigner..... Concierge not friendly enough to take bag to a cab.. Food downstairs
A warm return
long time not been in this hotel as most stay in the other side of Shanghai in recent years. This time to Novetel Shanghai Atiantis is very warm.
I have stayed here in the past and I love this place. Why, well while the staff are friendly and proffesional they have a little informality about them that makes you feel relaxed and welcoming. Brilliant!
I do not recommend staying here.
There was a bad smell on the entire floor. The carpet was peeling from the floor. The breakfast was gross. It’s a 2 star hotel not a 4 star hotel!
The USB charger port was not working. It is within walking distance to a Metro station in some rooms have a pretty good overall distanced view of the Bund and the Pearl Oriental TV tower
Location and room view are good. Room space is a little small. Room service is good. Local free smart phone with free 4GB data is bonus. But front desk didn’t tell until we found out by ourselves.
Facilities quite worn. Location not accessible to amenities. Lots of construction works in the area.
Staff were friendly and professional hotel was clean and smart The food top rate, gym and pool lovely Great time
Good
Customer service by management sucks
The hotel was clean and nice as well as the staff but I accidentally booked the wrong night and they refused to help me change nights. The restaurant on the top floor was disgusting and made me sick. It takes a long time to get there from the airport. Skip it
Nice quiet hotel good breakfast
I’ve stayed here many times this is my go to and Shanghai is comfortable quiet good breakfast has a swimming pool and a hot tub
Staff are friendly n helpful. Always with a smile to help us
Decent place to stay in Shanghai
Comfortable hotel with good breakfast.. Comfy bed and good shower. I had a larger room but it had a small window so not too much natural light during the day. Smaller rooms may have bigger windows.... Staff were all very nice and helpful. Pudong Avenue is under construction for a new Metro line at the moment although the road is open. Its a 500m walk to the nearest Metro stop
It is a nice hotel, room is clean and nice view if you have a room facing the city. Location wise abit out of way, night time will be very quiet.
the hotel is a bit far from underground station. Breakfast choice quite good.
The staff is amazing at this hotel! Everyone is so helpful and friendly. They are very accommodating and made our stay at Novotel wonderful.
Nice hotel, centrally located
I enjoyed my stay very much.
Five star services.
I am impressed by the attentiveness and high service level of the staff. Requirement is attended almost immediately. The room is clean but is showing obvious signs of wear and tear. Take for example I noticed that the carpet on near to the door is disaligned already and dust is trapped at the corner. The bathroom needs a face-lift too. Good Sound proofing has always been a problem for most hotels. This hotel has the same problem. On the first night I was startled by the slamming doors in the middle of the night. Then there was some noises from the ceiling. Hopefully this can be improved by doing some renovation works.
Weekend in Shanghai
The room was on 34th floor, good size and had fantastic views. Disappointed with Art 50 Revolving restaurant. Food was not up to standard; lacked variety and overpriced for what was provided. Advertised as free drinks but did not include alcoholic drinks. Breakfast was good.
Very good
Loved everything about the hotel. The staff were fantastic. Will stay there next time
Birthday surprise
This hotel blew me away. I was staying there on my birthday but I really had not said anything to anyone at the hotel about it. When my husband and I got back to the hotel that night, to my surprise, the hotel had delivered a cake, candles, plates and silverware. Wow, just wow!!!
Solid hotel
Stay was good staff very helpful
Nice hotel with nice staffs
Nice hotel with nice staffs.
Room is clean and comfy with great city skyline. Staff are friendly. Food is nice and surprisingly not expensive.
Really great hotel. Close to public transport. Great staff especially the concierge. Knows all the place to shop. Good breakfast buffet with variety
Close to the Metro and supermarkets. Hotel staff are friendly, courteous and smile warmly towards guests. Truly enjoyed my stay at Novotel Shanghai Atlantis!
Overall, the experience is excellent except a few pointers to highlight. First, none of the requests that were put up during the booking were fulfilled, wondering did Expedia put forward our requests to the hotel staff. Second, the location of the hotel is far away from the Metro station and the road leading to the station was uneven due to construction around the hotel.
decent stay in shanghai. nice stay, good view in the executive floor
good
Too far from everything.
Beds had very firm mattress which ruined the stay. Location was not appealing. Although service was excellent and friendly we would not stay in this area again instead would choose to be closer to the tourist area and shopping.
A great place to stay. Close to the subway and the river.
Wonderful!! Employees are outstanding!
I've been traveling to China more frequently these years, and I have to say, this time I've got the best experience. Not just the room got a fantastic view, but also the warm and nice welcomes I have received from all hotel employees. This is really impressive! And Thank you so much!! :)
Maybe a little too far from the subway to get top marks. Jaded but clean, and great bar where can chill and drink cold large beers aftee a busy day up town. They even encourage you to double up at last orders. Breakfast was a bit poor from a westerner perspect in the restaurant on the second floor so maybe goto the deli instead
Nice hotel, within walking distance to the subway. We arrived by the bullet train and purchased 3-day subway ticket on arrival at the train station - 40Y/person. Walking distance to a very nice waterfront park - East Bund - jogging/biking/walking trail + restaurants. Foreign exchange machine in the lobby. Free WiFi, an Android smartphone in the room, free calls to some countries, with google maps, free to use while visiting the city - very handy.
Excellent stay will like to stay again during my next visit
Overall very good. Clean rooms, good food, comfortable beds. Fast elevators
Clean, Friendly
A good place to stay.
Not a great location for tourists..... Will take a good 30 minutes to walk to pearl tower. Rates are good. View is superb. Slightly older chain of facilities
Nice hotel and good area. The view of the Bund was awesome
Fantastic view (we were on the 42nd floor) - the staff was exceptional from check in through departure. The facilities (pool, workout room) are state of the art, the hotel restaurants were fantastic. We really enjoyed our time at the Novotel.
Shanghai Trip-5 Novotel
excellent ... just like my previous stay !
Pudong Gem
Nice place Nice Price
The Novotel Shanghai Atlantis was my stay in Shanghai from 7/12-7/25. I stayed on the 33rd floor with a great panoramic view of the city. First when I settled down in the room, I noticed a personal letter from hotel management to welcome me to the hotel, that set the stage of the 2 weeks stay. During the second week of stay, I received another letter to remind me that all the hotel staff were still eager to help me anyway they can. The management and hotel really got all its way to make the guest feel at home. The hotel is conveniently located close to city center and to metro (A less than 10-minute walk to/from Pudong Avenue line 4 Subway Station). During my stay, I used the metro daily to travel around the city. The hotel has a top-notch Customer Service. All the hotel staffs are very helpful and courteous. The front desk welcomed our family as guests. When I made calls asking for additional toiletries and towels or sink drainage problem etc, it was dealt with very courteous and speedy manner. The hotel has four restaurants and a Deli shop that I had tried them all during my stay. Again the restaurant service staffs were very helpful and considerable. I also used the hotel fitness center quite often during my stay. The staffing member there were always happy to see me and help me to sign in. I found the well-equipped fitness center and pool more than adequate to meet my needs. Because I jogging every morning, the hotel is conveniently located between several jogging
Non smoking room which stinks of cigarette smoke...…..not comfortable even for a short stay
Professional staff, good location. Nice room, clean, good breakfast.
Affordable hotel with excellent service.
the front desk receptionist is very helpful and our check in experience is very good. It was done very fast. Breakfast buffet has wide variety. Me and my family went to go swimming pool. We found there are floating algae in the pool. Me and my family get out of the pool in fear that we get disease from the pool
Good Location and near city
Room is clean and house keeping everyday. Staff is helpful and friendly.. Location of hotel is near mrt which is pudong station and century ave station.
Hotel near to Pudong
Internet is slower than expect and difficult to login, also block of many apps. Bath area design no good and water run out.
Staff
it is the staff at the Novotel Atlantis in Shanghai that makes it stand out above the other hotels. a Big thank you to Jon and Colby the concierge Elva and Hebe in the Exec lounge and Quentin and Elena at the front desk. They went out of there way to make my trip so enjoyable
Value for money
The hotel location is conveniently located near to a metro station. Hotel staff (receptionist and concierge) was helpful. Room was nice with a big window overlooking the area. Plenty of tv channels. The only thing is during my stay, the area was in construction so do expect some noise in the morning.
I had a very bad experience here. Hotel staff were not very accommodating. I wouldn't recommend it.
Nice hotel near the Liujiazui business district.
Cozy place near the business district. Room was clean. easy to get a taxi before rush hour. Nice Gym and Pool. The complimentary mobile phone though needs to be replaced... poor battery life. The hotel is also near the metro but also near a construction of another metro.
Great hotel to stay at! It's within walking distance to subway station. Many English speaking receptionists available. We were on the 40th floor which had a pretty view day and night. People are friendly and very helpful! I had many luggages, they were able to store them for me 3 nights before my actual stay. Would recommend this hotel to my friends and family!
Service
Excellent staff. Francis is the best
easy to access to MTR
Friendly and helpful staff. I lived at the 33rd floor and got a very nice view of Huangpoa River.
Excellent Stay
Everything was excellent. When my safe needed fixing or a light replaced in my room, it was done quickly. Excellent customer service. The only thing that was not perfect was the smell in my room. It smelt like mild and mildew but the room was clean. The smell came from the vent. I got used to it. I did not mention it to staff. It won’t prevent me from staying there again.
Pleasantly surprised :)
We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Atlantis! Our room on the executive level had a wonderful view and was clean and comfortable. We never heard a single noise coming from other rooms. It felt like we were alone on our floor. Being on the executive level allowed us free food and drinks at the executive lounge, which was very appreciated when we were just too tired and jet-lagged to head out for dinner. The pool is really nice and the morning buffet was incredible. We also recommend the massage parlor right next to the hotel main entrance, which is open until 2 am everyday. If you want to get an intense, yet inexpensive foot massage in a decor of the 70's, this is the place! Don't be shy. Just walk right in :) The only downside of the hotel is the location. You have to walk a good 10 minutes to the closest metro station in the middle of a dirty residential area that doesn't have much to offer to foreigners. With heavy suitcases, this is not an ideal situation. This metro station is also incredibly busy during rush hour, so it can be intimidating for some tourists. It would be nice for the hotel to offer a free shuttle service to the metro station a few times a day. It would definitively mitigate the "location factor". Thankfully, there will be a new metro station right by the hotel soon.
Very nice and convenient
Perfect for any type of traveller!
I accidentally booked the wrong room type, but reception was kind enough to change it for me without struggle. Concierge service was outstanding and gave great advise on sightseeing and the use of Metro - the day pass for Shanghai isn't well known, but very handy. The room was terrific and I had a great night's sleep. I will most definitely stay here again.
Handy for Metro, nice area for walking or cycling.
Novotel Shanghai
Very quiet hotel with attentive staff and service - highly recommend. A 5 minute walk to a metro station- not much to do around the hotel itself but a very enjoyable stay
Will never consider this hotel again!
Location is good as close to metro station. However, two things that made me not to consider this hotel anymore. 1. When I was stayed at room for rest, a staff opened the door so I asked her out immediately. I am not sure why she could enter any room when there are guest inside. 2. Bad smell seeped out of the drainage system not only at the toilet but the entire room. So I had to turn the ventilation fan on for the whole night.
Staff were very nice. Unfortunately bathroom had sewer smell, which can block by covering drains in floor with wet towels and filling sink up a bit. I’ll pass next time.
Nice and clean with great view
Stay one night with my kid after long flight, my kid love this hotel the moment we walk into the lobby, the staff are friendly, the room is spacious and clean with great view. We were lucky we got this room with great view. The breakfast are really good, comparable to the breakfast buffet in the all inclusive resort we visited before. We asked for check out at 2:00pm, the staff said no problem. We went to the swim pool, it has great view and nice facility. My kid wants me to stay in this hotel next time .
Great great great location with an amazing view
Room was perfect, cannot stress how good the view was of the skyscrapers over in Lujiazui. But I think you should make a request for it when you check in! We stayed on Christmas day & Boxing day and the hotel was fairly quiet so we may have got lucky. We got takeaway (waimai) delivered to our room for every meal while we recovered from the jetlag and the staff were very nice about it. They also had a baby cot for our newborn which was satisfactory. Taxi service was also good.
The airconditioner in our room was not working properly as it was set on very high making it unbearable to sleep. It was difficult to communicate with the personnel and the problem was sorted out only after two nights. Rooms need updating.
We went as a family and requested for connecting room in advance however was not given. Children have to use common corridor to go to the other room which my family was located. This is not so convenient as safety is a concern. The staff stationed near the main entrance of the hotel were friendly and helpful. Provided good service and information.
Not up to expectations
Pros: - Room was big as it was a corner room. - High level room (level 37) afforded some decent city views. Oriental Pearl Tower can be seen if your room is facing the right direction. - Location is prime and near to city centre. Cons: - Hotel pillows differ in quality, half those in my room are way too soft with zero support. - Toilet rolls were not replenished despite both rolls being used up completely. - Blinds in the window between bathroom and bedroom not adequate. - Charged the wrong breakfast fee even though we specifically said we wanted the basic rate.
Hotel B'fast Good. Location not many shopping. Hv to walk 20mins then can find shopping & food.
Very nice hotel
Not a so nice location; but very nice hotel
The room is dark and feel pressure inside
I don’t like this hotel. The cleaningless are so so. The room is dark and feel pressure inside.
Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. We required a wheelchair and one in great shape was quickly delivered.
Nice staff but, very humid in the room, smelled moldy. Surrounding neighborhood is boring and inconvenient. Won't be staying there again.
Nice View, nice staff, good room.
Nice View from the rooms to the city, Really nice staff and near of one station of the metro
Nice hotel in a quieter area
We spent one night in a lower rating hotel around the corner, before checking out and moving to the Novotel. The staff were wonderful. I particularly liked the phone that they gave us to use during our stay. The bakery in the lobby was great for breakfast or a snack. Would definately stay there again
Good Hotel at a Competitive Price
Good hotel at a reasonable price. The hotel is located in a residential area on Pudong side with limited local shopping possibilities and just a few Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. It worked out well for my short business trip and the hotel is located near Dalian Road tunnel so easy access to Puxi side. Staff was very helpful, in particular the concierge manager who provided an outstanding service, always with a smile. The rooms have a good layout, but wear and tear shows. While I was there the shower had no hot water.
No control over air conditioners, and the room was hot like a sauna. The phone in the room was also broken so we needed to go down to the front desk to ask for help. The staff in the reception could not speak English at all. We asked to lower the temperature of the AC but they came to our room to open the window instead. The room was above the 30th floor and they just opened the window and there was no screen door or anything. We had such a difficult time staying in this hotel. The location was not good either. You need to either take a cab or change trains a couple of times to get to most of the tourist spots. I would recommend not to choose this hotel if you are going to Shanghai for sightseeing, especially for those who does not speak Chinese.
