The space is really small. The TV was tiny. I almost couldn’t believe I paid money to stay in a room so poorly updated. I guess it was only 80 dollars but I don’t understand why it hasn’t been renovated since 1982. We still managed to have a good time in spite of these hurdles with the room.
Very dated and old
I loved everything from the owners to my room to the people.
MOTEL HELL, false advertising they show a pic on expedia and give u a different room. My closet is as big as this room the owner and employer at Nova Motel are rude and liars and are only interested in trying to switch and bait and then try to put u in the right room by upcharging u $20 more for the right room that u should have got in the first place. Also the floors are filthy and they have a space heater in the wall and u burn your arm passing by it, totally elegal. And the site says they have free wifi and they claim they have no wifi and just laugh in your face about it. Total false advertising! They will be answering to the Attorney General and Consumers Protection Bureau soon. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! BEWARE of staying here for real!
The owner was friendly and very quick with our arrival.
Thank you! Was a last minute stay, was very satisfied!
Great stay
Great stay! Friendly, clean, good location!
There were no outside lights on when we arrived after dark. It was a run down area.
I like that it is reminiscent of days gone by before all the big chain hotels started taking over. It was a very warm and relaxed feel to the room. I flew solo so I didn’t use the jacuzzi tub for two but I’m sure that would be a nice add-on for a couple “kids” in love, no matter what your age. 😄
Clean, cozy and quiet. The office staff was very friendly and accommodating.
So gross, we had fleas in our room and it smelled like vomit in the bed
It is a great place to stay at a reasonable price when fishing in the area. They have coolers available for your fish at the end of the day. Definitely nice for a no frills guy trip.
My stay was quiet and comfortable. The gentleman on duty the next morning saw I was having trouble with getting my friend out in to my cast.He came over and help me. He was very kind and concern for us.
This property looks like it was built in the 50’s and never repaired or remodeled. Door and windows were old and windows didn’t even lock. Chair and carpeting in the room were old and the place smelled musty. We left to find a different hotel. Unfortunately lost out on $148, but I wouldn’t have been able to sleep in that room if we stayed.
The entry door had over a half inch gap leading to outside. Had to put a blanket under the door to keep potential mice and critters out. Ceiling tiles were stained. Bathroom plug not working properly Ants on the carpet Blanket Used to cover the door was probably 10 years old or older Very old rundown would not recommend it to anyone
Loud ,
The swimming pool
It's an older motel, room was clean, staff was welcoming and pleased to offer assistance.
We stopped for a night at the motel before staying at the state park. Really did love the motel, rooms, bedding, towels were all nice and clean. We didn’t use the pool but it also looked clean and well kept. There was fresh coffee and muffins in the office in the morning. I was able to park my camper in a lot behind the motel. Not far from town and close to a Dairy Queen :)
TV did not work, had to keep askingmanagement to fix it.Desk clerk refused to come help with tv. Floor was sopping wet by entrance and under air conditioner upon our arrival. Soap not replaced after room cleaned. No extra roll of toilet tissue left. Room was not as pictured as shown on website. Room looked like hadnt been updated for 20 years as opposed to updated picture shown on website. Desk clerk was rude and unwilling to help, just kept telling us to call manager but didnt give name or number who to call. This is the worst place and misrepresented place I have ever stayed. I'm going to pursue getting a refund!
Nice place could use a little updating
Older motel, beds dominate room space. Old but clean. Freezers for salmon. Must swap out towels. No bed making.
Easy commute to S.S. Badger.
Cute
An older motel. Rustic and dated but nice. Bed was very comfortable. I slept great. Lits of seating outside each room. Quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed my stay. Cleaning could be a bit more thorough.
We drove 3 hours and it was pleasant. So we stsyed an ectra night as well. I would recommend.
The place was nice, friendly, fairly clean, old rustic look, reasonable on price, swimming pool which was clean. Stayed 3 nights.
Great location
This is a great location to stay at when going to the Silver Lake Off-road park. it is only 30 min from the park, and a few minutes to downtown Ludington. They have great trailer parking, and good prices. The pool was very nice. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
The people at the Nova were extremely nice and accommodating. They were booked and made room for us. Clean room with new flooring, offered beach towels for the pool instead of just standard size and had fresh coffee ready at 6 am- great little place- will stay again!!
The Air Conditioning and WIFI didn’t work well. The room felt humid and musty. The curtain rod fell off the wall. The man at the front desk was very kind and friendly though.
The owner is wonderful and super helpful! The outdoor pool and hot tub were super clean and fun! The hotel is outdated but we had a blast! Would stay again!!
The exterior is rough due to age, but the room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff very friendly and allowed early check-in. Important to know that the room is basic. No frills but the price is right for the area and season.
Shower water changes immediately to hot to cold n vice versa. No hair dryer. Not enough plug sockets for charging. No glass or cup provided. Hanging area of clothes wrong place on d head part of bed which touches head when in bed
Nice workers and clean room, but…
My husband was alone on the trip. There was not a “single usb” in the room. He also did not appreciate that there was no coffee maker or even cups in the room. He said people were smoking outside his room until 3 am, and they started up again early in the morning. The ac pulled the smoke into his room.
Run down. No internet and no hot water. Poor lighting in the room and a shower i chose not to use.
Friendly staff. Good value
Not real impressed but it was the cheapest place that i found. Very basic and mostly outdated but the bed was fairly comfortable.
Clean but Small Room Mix-up
“The room was clean but quite small. We thought we were getting the larger deluxe room with a large bathtub, but ended up in a very small queen room with a toilet, sink, and standing shower. Additionally, there was no information provided about an extra charge for pets; it said pet-friendly, but there was a $25 daily fee.”
Booked on Expedia as dog friendly only to be confronted with a 25$ charge for having a pet and in addition further charges for using a credit card and adding state/town tax.
Very helpful staff and owners.
Convenient location
Property owner was friendly and prompt with requests. Room was clean and neat, carpet appeared new. Bed was comfortable. I did not use the pool or hot tub, but both appeared clean and inviting. Hotel is older. Room air a little stale.
Dirty. Out-dated. Do not recommend staying here.
Old and quirky and small rooms.. but endearing! Clean and comfortable.
Refridgerator didnt work. Good food went to waste because of.
The staff at the motel are friendly. The rooms have new carpet, and the room I stayed in had a newer, very comfortable bed. The bathroom is dated. The small shower leaves a lot to be desired. The steaming hot and freezing cold water in the shower, does not help.

Guy at the desk was friendly and helpful.
We love how accommodating and friendly the owners were, it’s a family-owned. Our room was one of the cheapest room so of course we don’t expect luxury. This was a budget overnight room. Despite it being old, you can tell they make efforts to make the place clean and maintain it. At the time of the booking, it was peak season so our room was over $100, on normal days you can get is for less than that and it’ll be worth it for me. Hot water works fine, AC was cold - it has basic comfort you need for a quick stay. Location - wise it’s good
Worst hotel
It was dirty and had a strong mold smell so we did not stay at the hotel and had to book another room at another hotel
Room was cramped, not enough room for 2 queen beds, could not walk in room. Lacked basic amenities, such as a phone or drinking glasses in room.
