Best place I've found in winnipeg
Excellent service when we check in! Location great to access hospital.
It is close to St. Boniface heart clinic for 9:00 am appt. 4 minute walk, was nice and easy even at 27 below 0 before windchill. Room was clean and staff were great.
I like the St Boniface area.
The hotel is in a good convenient downtown location but this unfortunately makes traffic noisy and the area a little dirty. The price seemed higher than similar hotels as well. On the other hand the restaurants were excellent, both the breakfast restaurant and the night restaurant.
Hotel overall is pretty good. The new renovations to the Wood Tavern and the other lounge are great. The room is comfortable and clean. The area around the hotel is ok, not much you can do about that. The concern I had was that I would have been charged $12 per day (with taxes) for parking. I asked the check in staff "what do I get for $12 a day?"...because it's not coverd parking it's not indoor it's not heated ,there are a limited number of plug ins for car heaters, and most concerning the security is only there till 2am. So I didn't park in the lot...I parked on a street and walked for less than 1 min. It's disappointing when I spend $169 a night and parking is not free....AND security is not there after 2am...thats when security is needed most. I hope this feedback is valuable.
Nice one night stay after attending a staff holiday party.
Lovely stay
The stay was great, it's clearly been renovated. The bathroom is well designed and modern. I would have liked for my parking to be included in the price (not obvious on booking site) and not find out about the fee when I got there. Otherwise, it was a good stay. Best part is the Pauline restaurant that's attached.
Water pressure not the greatest in my room.
Like clean modern room , to eat there, gamble a little & walking distance to hospital
Good. However because of the one way streets and traffic it’s not easily accessible other then coming from the east down Marion
Fairly noisy at some early and late hours.
Everything was good but check-in. Had problems getting our keys. But were staff were very polite and explained why
Its a convenient hotel close to the hospital and lots of restaurants and shops close by. Its DT and its busy area.
Great stay
We needed a hotel close to the St B hospital. Location is perfect. Close to The Forks and lots of dining options.
The rooms and facilities were very clean.
Good value. Didn't appreciate charges for lots of items that were included prior like water.
Basic hotel room which is all we needed
Basic hotel room. All good.
Location is great in proximity to the at boniface hospital
Highly recommended
Modern, well run, super friendly staff.
Great stay
Large room with couch and chair. Comfortable bed and a nice walk in shower. Great service and lots of options for food in the neighborhood. Was woken up by people arguing and shouting in the hallway one night. A microwave would be nice in the room.
Stayed here while husband at St Boniface hospital. Was conveniently close for going Back and forth to the hospital. Restaurant onsite has excellent food and exceptional service. Highly recommend
The hotel was a 6 min walk to St Boniface Hospital which was very convenient for me. It is an older hotel with somewhat recent Reno’s. Staff were friendly and the restaurant and lounge had really good food and service. The neighborhood is a bit rough for my liking but it is what it is.
Very very clean and convenient for my stay
Good place to stay
Parking in lot was extra for the 2 days was 125.00
Idk
Pay parking
There was no bathtub. Part of my enjoyment when I travel. Way too many people asking for money outside of the hotel
awesome place
The staff was awesome. I would recommend to stay there. Great location .Loved it . Will definitely come back
Great stay, friendly staff. Nice and quiet. Worth the price.
Quiet
Great restaurant downstairs. Clean hotel.
Suprised about the parking charge per night and thought it would add to the parking but it daid on a sign in the lot that others could still pay to park there. I think guests should be the only ones to use the lot if charging for a spot.
Nice
Comfortable and clean
Marion St is noisy. Some people hanging around outside seemed up to no good.
Great!
Overall a good hotel. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet so I was able to get a decent sleep. The location is not the greatest, especially for people that aren’t used to the streets in Winnipeg (I’m from a small town in Ontario). I circled the block about 5 times before I actually found the entrance to the hotel. A little bit of a sketchy area but I never really felt unsafe. For the price, it was a good hotel to stay at for a night during my road trip.
Happy with the service at the hotel but NOT the restaurant! I commend the service and professionalism of the young guy at the front desk, I think his name is Tarik and also Mary at catering
They did not get us a pillow that we asked for many times. A pillow. Cant even get us that for a 200$ night
Very clean, modern property. Close to St. Boniface Hospital. No information about hotel services in the room. I called the front desk 5 times to get the wifi password (free wifi was listed in description), and no one answered. This would be concerning if it was an emergency.
The hotel was very clean!! Even the corners of the shower were absolutely spotless. It was a great location with tons of great little restaurants all around. There was a few loud guests at 2:00-5:00 which was disturbing because we had to get up before 6:00 to head to a marathon. But that was not the hotels fault. I would recommend to stay here again!!
A plus
Came for two nights. It was ok. Walls a little thin.
Love it
Nicely renovated property, excellent shower. Good restaurants in building and around the area.
Staff were very helpful upon check in and again when I went down with a question about safety in the area for walking.
Great little spot right in the middle of the Peg.
Good location, no-frills but comfortable hotel
In Winnipeg for a business conference, so spent little time at the hotel, did not try the restaurant or anything. We had one of the wheelchair accessible rooms, which was pretty spacious. Everything was clean, lobby area is small and perhaps dated but fine. The location is on a very busy road, but I didn't notice traffic sounds. There is a fee for parking, but not bad ($12 per night). Location is good if you want to access St. Boniface hospital or the south end of The Forks park area. A little further from "downtown" proper (25 minutes to walk to Portage and Main, for example, or the conference centre). There is a strip mall immediately across from the hotel that contains a gas station, full-size grocery store, and a liquor store, so that's convenient.
Was expecting the old breakfast and prices.
Lots of drunks hanging around the front lobby and lots of drunken, noisy people staying there long term by the looks of it. The front lobby was under construction which wasn’t disclosed when booking and the prices were pretty high all things considered.
It suited our needs quite well
Hotel was good but out side of the hotel some junkies guy misbehaved with me they were trying to snitch my food
Front desk staff was excellent and very attentive to my knees. The food at Pauline‘s and at the wood were excellent. The bartenders at your bar were lots of fun. Will be back.
Best value in Winnipeg!
Great stay
Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. The food in restaurants was great
Very clean hotel located directly across from tge St. Boniface hospital. Staff were very friendly. Our first room air conditioning did not work so after contacting the front desk they quickly sent someone to check. As it wasn’t able to be fixed they upgraded us to a different room which was more updated than our first. The furniture in both rooms could be updated as it was old but the rooms were very clean. Bed was very comfortable as well as the pillows. Location was perfect for us.
Pleasant and stress free stay.
Great hotel
the room was excellent and clean comfy sleep
Staff is great
Had to stay over a few nights because of a family member in the hospital. Staff was very accommodating with checking in fir anther day with not much notice. And they cared Genuinely
Visiting at the hospital
I had a very comfortable stay. It was quiet and staff were very pleasant.
Always great!
I was in Winnipeg for a Medical Appointment and the last time I stayed there as well. Friendly staff, clean room, quiet, and for a small fee I was able to stay 2 hours past the check out time so I didn't have to wander aimlessly until my appointment at 2 pm. The next time I have an appointment at the St B I will be booking at the Norwood for sure!.
Great and kind personnel
No Food for You
We only experienced one issue. The restaurant in the morning requires a reservation. Even though restaurant 2/3 empty. We never ate in Pailinas and took our meals offsite.
There were bed bugs and bug stains. Hotel wont refund
Nice to have a nice Restaurant though for the price the portion sizes are quite small was still hungry after
Hotel is very clean inside and out. The room was very clean. Staff in their restaurants were efficient and friendly. The food in restaurants great! It is a short walking distance from St. Boniface Hospital. However, chairs in room were old and uncomfortable and we found the mattresses on the bed too hard for our liking.
Seemed like a fairly safe neighborhood. Very clean hotel. Room was lovely and very clean
This is an older hotel with clean rooms and a great location. Sound carries a bit and the beds could be a bit more comfortable. The staff were amazing and housekeeping was friendly and did a great job Both restaurants are great as well.
Attached restaurabts were excellent
Short sray
The staff were pleasant, room was clean and comfortable other than the pillows that were tiny and hard. The walls must be very thin as people taking in the hallway and other guests in rooms close by was very loud.
Kitchen not open Sept 25 morning
Overall it was a good stay. The only thing that bugged me was the children running around until all hours of the night above my room. I called the front desk and they called the room and the running around got worse. Not the hotels fault but definitely made for poor sleep for two nights.
Terrible rude staff. The clientele is subpar, I kept receiving calls after midnight from from drunk guests. That happened two nights in a row. No help from staff, they said they were not able to track calls??? They said the beds were were plush, no they were hard as rock. Thin carpet glued down on bumpy cement. A tripping hazard. A mediocre hotel not fit for any traveller.
good parking
The Norwood is one of my go-to hotels in Winnipeg. The rooms are clean, staff are friendly and the restaurants are very good. I feel, however, that parking costs should be covered as a guest of the hotel.
Bĝĝĝģghhhhhĥhhhhhhhh
liked the rooms... the pillows were small which I like... comfortable.; easily accessible... close to family which I visited.
Quiet clean and comfortable. I would stay again.
Great hotel
My stay was very comfortable and staff were very helpful. The cleaning lady was very nice. The restaurant is excellent with terrific food
Room, excellent bed
I highly recommend staying at the Norwood Hotel when in Wpg.
Nice and clean
Good food
A very modern and well kept property. Traffic is heavy in the area but that is to be expected given the location. Close to the Forks and downtown while other areas of Winnipeg are accessible. Staff were very helpful and professional. I highly recommend this property. A hospital a McDonald's and a Timmy's are across the street. What more can you ask for. Very quiet for a property with a tavern.
Was close to a hospital. Was to expensive
everything was great. Just 2 areas of improvement. There is an oil smell in the hallway of the 4th floor. Elevator lobby on 4th floor has no air conditioning.
We stayed for a night for an event at the convention center only 7mins away. It was a convenient place to stay for half the price of other closer hotels. There is no complimentary breakfast but McDonald's is right across the street. We stayed on the 3rd floor, the hallway was updated, and the bathroom was clean and newly updated as well. Some parts are dated but we did not mind as it's only a night's sleep. There was enough parking space when we booked.
A little messy and a few vagrants around
No shuttle service
The pullout bed was disgustingly dirty. When asked the front desk for a garbage bag….. they said they didn’t have one. They were not helpful at all.
I liked the location within St. Boniface. Products in room were great. No dislikes
Rundown hotel.
Not bad at all. Room is spacious and parking is accessible
