Excellent
Check in was friendly and welcoming. Room clean and comfortable, Good night's sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and goold quality, again service was great.
We parked at the Duke Street car park, which was only a 2 minute walk to the hotel. The staff were all very friendly. The room was clean & tidy. It was a straightforward route into town.
Bit of a nightmare
Accidentally double booked, both the hotel and hotels.com could see that the mistake was an honest one. Both Hotels.com and Moxy Glasgow played passed the buck (Moxy Glasgow in particular one that a mistake has been made and could've positively intervened at an early stage, instead it appears the money was more important). Fair play to the receptionist who cannily manipulated the situation to make it a hotels.com issue. So I am left with paying double for a bedroom (ps hotels.com was nearly thirty pounds cheaper than booking direct) as Moxy Glasgow profit from my accident.
Friendly and helpful staff. Beds very comfortable and clean rooms.
Excellent stay
Loved Moxy. Seemed more like a 4 than three star. Bedroom comfortable and spacious. Nice relaxed feel. Near merchant city. 10 min walk to George Square. Free cocktail on arrival. Highly recommended. Car parking behind hotel at 92 duke st 6.00 best car park bargain ever. Very good price for hotel also on hotels.com amazing.
Very disappointed
Sorry about the scores but we were not able to travel given the hurricane and police instructions not to travel. Non refundable booking for 4 people and two rooms wasted. One night stays are not covered by travel insurance- no one reached out from Hotel or Hotels.com- very disappointed.
Perfect city centre stay. Very friendly staff. Rooms were perfect - clean and fresh. Great location. Breakfast was fantastic - mixture of hot and cold foods. Will definitely stay again.
Second time here ..... location is everything and service is great
Good vibe, fun downstairs bar area, useful fitness centre. Could do with a few small things like a fridge in the room, a sauna or spa would be a nice addition. The bathrooms need to be properly cleaned as there is some mould between the tiles. But still, had a good time.
Well situated and super-comfy!
Spent a night at the Moxy with my sister to attend a gig at the Barrowlands. The hotel was perfect for our needs; really well situated about half a mile from Queen Street station and the Barrowlands, comfy bed, fab shower and great breakfast the following morning. Staff were unobtrusive and polite and the hotel was really quiet despite being in the city centre. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
Breakfast not up too much
Glasgow Live
2nd time stayed here in as many months and both times staff have been great and rooms clean and comfortable
Very good customer service
This hotel was excellently located for where we needed to be, also no complaints with the hotel in any area
Very smart, modern.
very good we love it
Great hotel
Lovely hotel, clean and modern and great spot. Friendly staff and nice lobby to sit on.
Easy place to stay
Decent place, near the centre but not too noisy
Nice
We had a short stay. Staff were friendly & on the whole hotel served its purpose. Was clean. Only thing to say is that bed wasnt very comfortable!!
We stayed there as it was near to the registry office where we were getting married. Staff were so kind and friendly. We were given free cocktails and Photo Booth when they found out about the wedding! I would thoroughly recommend the Moxy. The staff made our special day more memorable!
Yup
This hotel is quirky and fun.
Nice, modern hotle. The staff was friendly and let us check in a little early.
Bait and Switch?
Hotel was ok, no frills kind of place, which was fine for a couple of nights, but when I went to extend my stay, I erroneously double-booked the night I was already in room. (I tried to extend at the front desk but they said sorry I could only book online ??). Even though it was close to 11pm, Hotels.com showed me the same night as an option, not the next night that I was trying to book. I missed that detail, but the next day it was discovered and I was told at the front desk again that I needed to square it away with Hotels.com. A couple of hours and multiple messages into my travels through Glasgow that day, I received a message in writing that stated “Great news Robert, the hotel has agreed to waive your charges and fees for the night!” Which prompted me to rebook the next two nights at the Moxy, covering my entire time in Glasgow. However, when I returned to the states and checked the status of the refund, which was supposed to be posted on my credit card within 5-7 days, I then was told by hotels.com that the Moxy was in fact refusing the refund and considered me a “No Show” on the night in question, completely reversing the position I was informed of while in their stay. I’ve since taken the issue up with my credit card company, but regardless of the outcome, it is more than safe to say that I will choose other accommodations when I return to Glasgow this coming summer. (And unlikely to use Hotels.com to make the alternative booking either).
Nice Hotel
Nice hotel in a great location for Merchant City. Staff were excellent. Rooms clean and very comfortable.
Bog standard moxy stay but yet again the staff rally are great.
Staff were friendly and our room got upgraded.nice break away
I will keep coming back here
The staff are always friendly here and although the rooms are not large, they do contain everything you need for a comfortable stay. I especially like the under bed light which comes on if you get up in the night! Shower is good and the shampoo and conditioner are nice. Breakfast is pretty good too with plenty of choice and decent tea and coffee. For me the location is spot on so I will continue to stay here. takes about 10 minutes to walk down to Queen St station and all the restuarants around there.
Quiet, very clean. Handy for High St rail station
Loved the vibe.
Good hotel but workmen outside
Hotel was lovely, only downside was workmen doing roof repairs at 9am. Specifically booked because of the 12pm checkout, but otherwise a good stay.
Mostly Excellent
Quick check in, friendly staff, good value, comfy bed, and quiet. All good. Give the breakfast a miss though - limited to beans, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon (no black pudding, or hash Browns or potato scones) - so you'd be better going to a cafe nearby. The hotel was good value overall.
Bright and Funky
I guess Moxy is a chain that Marriott are aiming at a younger clientele (I'm a pensioner) but it was excellent value and in a location that suited this trip. The room has no wardrobe or drawers, just a thing to put your suitcase on, so not suitable for a longer stay. Funky lighting - not a problem -I liked the dim option in the en-suite and the motion sensitive light under the bed for when I got up in the night. Very handy for University of Strathclyde, cathedral area and Merchant City. Currently swathed in scaffolding for roof work but not a problem in the room.
Great location, handy for the city. Nice comfortable bed, clean room, helpful staff. Could not ask for anything more.
👍
Usually enjoy visiting moxy hotel. On this visit there was a party of about 20 of us to see the Celtic/Buckie game. As my son in law was playing we had said we could all celebrate at hotel after game with some food and drinks. On the morning of game we found out the hotel bar had ran out of Vodka, Perona, Stella & Merlot wine. We asked if this could be available in the evening and was told we are not sure. Arrived back at hotel to have a few celebratory drinks to find they had not managed to sort the problem. As these 4 drinks were a large portion of our groups favourite drinks the evening didnt go as planned. Spoke to manager following morning and explained our disappointing stay due to this. He said he had went and got the drink that morning, not much good as we were returning home. The breakfast was awful.
Comfortable clean room, friendly helpful staff. 4th time staying and will be back
Unfortunately none of the 4 usb points in the room were working, however this did not put a dampener on the experience as we had plugs for our devices with us. Staff were always on hand, helpful and friendly. Would return.
Stayed Hogmanay as going to an event . Handy to walk into town . Parking in car park £5 for 24 hours . Funky reception and bar . Room clean and everything you need although bathroom small but who cares . Genius feature is when you step out of the bed a night light goes on under the bed ( especially good for women of a certain age lol ) so you can see to go to the toilet without putting lights on then is on a timer so goes off . Will stay again
Modern and good value for money
Great Hotel, close to the city centre. Modern with a few nice touches like games in the bar to keep you entertained, friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay and would return again.
Great hotel
The hotel is well located - not too far from centre. The communal areas in thelobby are very nice and well kept. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating!
A real surprise
Was expecting a budget style hotel, but was really surprised how good Moxy was. Clean, quiet, comfortable room and an excellent buffet breakfast. Good coffee, too. All the staff were really friendly and very helpful.
Reasonably priced near city centre hotel
Reasonably priced near city centre hotel. Clean, in good condition, no noise issues, about 10 minutes walk to city centre and main railway stations, next to High St station. Would use again
A
Modern, clean and cool on a budget - the room was comfortable with some nice touches - great lighting, lovely towels and bed linen, proper hairdryer, big coffee mugs - small details but they added up to a big plus. Parking was 2 mins away and extremely reasonable for 24hrs. We had breakfast which was fine altho the quality of the hot buffet items could have been better - but that would be our only criticism. Having stayed in various Glasgow hotels over the years we will certainly use Moxy on future visits.
I booked and paid for this room online. However, when I turned up at the hotel, they asked me for a £10 deposit, which I was more than happy to give them, in cash. I do not take cards anywhere with me. This is my choice and it should be respected. Cash is legal tender. The 'receptionist' refused to give me a key to my room unless I made a card payment, which I was physically unable to do, as my cards were in Aberdeen and the hotel is in Glasgow. Another hotel guest had to pay the deposit for me to enable me to gain entry to my room! I did not use any of the other services in the hotel. Everything is 'cashless' and the place is soulless. This 'hotel' is nothing other than a pretentious hostel and looks shabby both outside and in. There is no proper 'service' to speak of. I won't be back.
Too far out of town centre. Beds uncomfortable. No control over room temperature.
Fantastic
Clean and tidy, warm and comfortable, friendly staff and good location
Very good
Compact but very comfortable and clean room, really quiet too. Check-in efficient, carpark just 2 minutes walk away and good value (£5 for 24 hours). Very convenient location for a great night out in Glasgow city centre with late night drinks in the hotel bar to finish.
Room was clean and spacious.
Breakfast
Breakfast: Need someone to be checking the food area, making sure that food etc., is constantly topped up, instead of guests having to tell staff when stuff has run out.
Recommend
Great stay, clean hotel up and downstairs in a central location. Lovely staff, at times the bar service could have been quicker.
Excellent hotel would definitely stay again
Very hospitable
Great Stay
Rooms were modern and comfortable. Good access to the city for shopping. Good food. Friendly and polite staff. Definitely recommend.
Loved the under bed automatic lighting. Didn’t have to turn on a light to use the toilet during the night. Loved that it was a self service hotel, sometimes talking to people can be quite daunting but this made the experience worth it. Breakfast options were great, many things to choose from so something for everyone. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We had booked the hotel for our first ever family visit to Glasgow. We booked a family room, which worked well with two separate sleeping areas, better than two large beds in one room. Also, the kids loved having their own tv. The arrival was easy and welcoming, we were all made to feel at home. Loved the little mesages throughout the room, but also generally a really mordern atmosphere and product. The food menu was limited, but would have worked perfectly well with our kids (7 & 4), had a good selection of beverages. Breakfast was nice and bigger selection than expected, with good coffee and fresh produce. The location to the city centre is ideal, even with a little one nothing was too far. We dined out at a local Italian and perfect location about 5min walk. Look out for all the amazing Murals you will spot as you wander around and if interested, the Sightseeing bus tour stop is only a couple of minutes from the hotel, highly recommended trying it out. On check out we left our luggage safely, and came back later to collect before taking the train back to Edinburgh. A big thanks to the whole team for helping to make our first family weekend in Glasgow so special
Fantastic stay.. friendly staff. Although the rooms were a little dusty
Relaxed atmosphere and great for kids with pool table and football game
Short stay
Very comfortable stay. Quirky hotel in a good area for places to eat and drink. Nice breakfast too. Kids loved the fussball!
This location is excellent. Not a single complain.
Worth the stay
I loved everything about this hotel. The vibe is so cute and the staff was super friendly.
All just great, love the cool sensor night lights. Very quiet and restful Lovely lobby very welcoming
Room was lovely, beautiful hotel. only problem was check out was at Noon and at 10am the cleaner walked in the room after explaining I wasn’t checking out till noon she left then about 11:20 she let herself back into the room. Seen someone was still in and left.
Room was nice bed was great..a little too warm in the room though with the way they do the open window a/c thing. Met a great young man working in the lobby named Fuller who was very informative and personable! Give him a raise that kid is going places!
The hotel location is excellent at the city center. The hotel is very clean.
Second visit and equally impressed. Staff are so pleasant and friendly not to mention helpful. So this has become our Glasgow go to place. The atmosphere and vibe are perfectly placed and we really enjoy staying here.
Lovely hotel, nice bar area
Good hotel, bit of an issue when I asked for a pizza before 9pm ,was told it was too late but after a few words barman agreed to serve food. Been here a few times always good.
The location was good
Location was right by by location #3 for the Hop On/Hop Off bus tours of the city. This made getting around the city less stressful. Parking was convenient, affordable and a short walk from the hotel. Staff was very kind and helpful. Great suggestions for dinner options.
Hotel has a modern hip vibe, but it is a Marriott property so you’re getting their quality as well. Rooms had motion sensor lighting which I liked and meant you didn’t need to reach for the light switch in the dark. Overall, very happy with the stay.
2nd time at the moxy for us in last 3 weeks so they must be good . No faults or complaints from us
Great location and staff, great hotel allround, would definitely recommend only downside is the parking situation it’s a bit down the road but £5 for 24hrs isn’t bad so can’t complain too much
What a really pleasant surprise. Great location, rooms were spotless and had everything you needed. Deserves more than a 3 star rating. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Great standard and we will be back very soon. Well done to all the team for creating such a happy place with a great vibe
I’m coming back
The trip was magnificent from start to finish. Friendly and extremely helpful staff throughout. Breakfast was just right room spotless parking was convenient all good
The Moxy tag on a 10 pound per day night security deposit, which was unusual. They say it will be reimbursed back to your credit card within five days of departure. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and quiet.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel and nice clean rooms. The gym is small but had everything needed. Only improvement would be the food. Had dinner and the chicken burger wasn’t good. Also the breakfast was lacking turned up at 8.30 and not much left. Would still recommend but would just eat somewhere else!
Francesco in the reception area was really friendly and provided a great welcoming experience. The staff in general in the check-in area were helpful and even set up a tax service for our return to the airport.
Good hotel. Good location and the staff we very friendly
The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was excellent.
Great hotel
Great room with great facilities. Comfortable and clean
Nice hotel and near lots to walk to. Not fiendly and slow service.
A good place.
I liked the concept of the reception being a bar and there are games around. The hotel was clean and staff friendly.
Ok but not great
It was fine. Room was clean and modern. Uncomfortable overstuffed pillows. Breakfast was disappointing, croissants and pancakes were stale, scrambled eggs cold, overall poor selection. The Moxy brand is all about appealing to the young and hip but it tries a bit too hard.
Nice stay
Chilled stay at the hotel. Relaxing vibes. Car park close by at Duke Street for £5 overnight. Room very comfortable.
Great location, friendly staff, very comfortable environment and good vegetarian options at the restaurant
Great position and cheap parking nxt door .👍
Exellent hotel.and great location ..used before and will use again
Great location, room was clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Vibes of hotel are amazing.
Would definitely stay again!
Just a quick stop whilst I was working in Glasgow but I'll definitely use Moxy again, it was comfortable and clean with a wonderful breakfast spread.
Great Hotel. Good location.
Forced to pay £150 for someone else
The hotel itself has great amenities, however , there was a major issue with the staff. We were in Glasgow for one night, essentially to sleep. After a long day of travel and a 4 AM trip back to London the next day, we were informed there were stains on the wall attributed to us. We were exhausted after 2 long days of travel and spent our precious time in the UK convincing the staff the damage was likely from the night before (New Years Eve) vs our half day stay the following day used to simply sleep. It was a frustrating end to our trip and would absolutely not stay here again. I would suggest you inspect your room, time stamp it, video record it, etc. To prevent a situation like ours. Thank you for staining our last day in the UK.
Great hotel for a city break
Lovey and clean Quiet
Great hotel housekeeping let it down though
Reception staff were very welcoming and friendly however found housekeeping rude. Didn’t want to engage and were very short and blunt. I have stayed in a Moxy hotel before and like the vibe of the hotel just felt the housekeeping staff very dry.
Moxy
Hotel good overall. Welcome cocktail. Food reasonable. Breakfast had good selection of food available. Bedroom basic but clean .
Clean and fresh room. A couple of blocks further from the centre than ideal and just on the edge of a seedier area of the city.
Good Value
Quick and efficient checkin. Good facilities. Friendly staff. Great location for city centre

Good hotel at a very reasonable price
Overall we had a very pleasant night
