Incredibly friendly management, room was everything we needed! Very convenient being right off of i70. Would come here again.

Perfect place!

Modestly priced. Great location close to I-70 and Hermann MO. Super clean. Very friendly manager who upgraded our room at no charge so we could be next to our friend in another room. Not fancy but spotless and you have a fridge, micro and a sleep sound machine that was great.

Staff was fine. room was just cleaned but had 15 or more ladybugs. That is not acceptable. I know they are not considered harmful but didn’t want one falling off ceiling into my snoring mouth or going home with me

Very pleasant stay for a budget hotel.

This is great little motor inn of the old-school type, with actual door keys instead of key cards. It's right off I-70, so it's very easy to get to. It seems to be family-run, by a very nice young family. Lots of channels on the TV.

Pet Friendly, had large grassy area for walking our dog.

Friendly staff, convenient off and on freeway. Perfect for a good overnight as we travel cross the country and back.

Excellent value for a basic room to spend the night. It's an older property, but is clean and well maintained and they do update things when warranted (the mattresses are comfortable, the tv's are modern, etc). The owners clearly care about their guests experience and spend time and effort to address any shortcomings of an older property. For example, the layout of the motel with external doors directly to the rooms combined with the property being very near the interstate mean that noise could be an issue for light sleepers, but the rooms have a "white noise/nature sounds" speaker device to efficiently address the potential issue. That type of attention to detail extends to every element of the property.

We found 2 cockroaches in our room. There were gnats flying out of the overflow drain in the sink. We informed the staff when we checked out. He stated that a family had been in the room next to us for one week and left the cockroaches. We asked for compensation but got nothing. Very disappointed with our stay.

The place is old, room carpet was clean, the towels were nowhere close to being white - dirty yes! I will not stay there again. I had no choice because traveling with the dog and not many hotels are dog friendly. Thank you

The facilities were very old, but renovated and clean. It was a comfortable stay and management was very nice.

Family run budget motel. They are extremely friendly and helpful if you need anything. Room was very clean, and bed was comfortable. Convenient to the interstate. Great area behind the motel for dogs to roam. Great one night stay.

Not a franchise - this is a locally owned property I think. The office was in disarray and so I wondered about the room but I was pleasantly surprised - it was as good as a newer motel. These guys did a great job with the renovation (at least my room).

Excellent option

Don’t expect the Ritz , but it’s a great budget alternative. Friendly staff , large room large bathroom . Excellent option to overpriced options which give nothing more .

Room was clean and neat. Owner was very nice. He even called to see we would be arriving so he could have the air on and the room ready. The price was good and the room very comfortable.

Room was not as clean as my wife deemed acceptable. Property appeared well kept, but still lacked that final touch. More a working man crash pad.

While our room was clean, this property is very dated. The carpet needs to be replaced & you can feel the springs in the bed. We stayed one night, but found a different hotel for the next night. As others have mentioned, there is literally nothing at this exit except for this hotel, so make sure if you need food, you stop before you get here. If you are a woman by yourself, I would not stay here.

Ok for the price. Located right off freeway. Front desk very personable and accommodating. Picnic table to eat outside. Outdated but expected for the price.

Off the beaten path Motel

Very comfortable, clean room for an overnight stay. It’s right off the highway but a noise machine was provided, I was exhausted so I really didn’t hear much. There is nothing else off the exit so if you need munchies stop before checking in.

I was highly pleased with my stay here! The room was quiet, clean, and cozy. The staff was extremely helpful, and customer service was obviously his number one priority. Great place to rest your weary bones from traveling all day!

No frills but clean comfortable rooms

The staff was friendly and the property was clean. It was close enough to the interstate that there was some traffic noise. Also, there are no places to eat nearby. My main disappointment was the in room coffee pot had not been cleaned.

Booked as a pet friendly stay. My $160 stay turned into $260 because of our 2 dogs. Also got downgraded from a queen to a 2 full room because of pets. Was told room was nonsmoking yet reeked of smoke when we checked in. Room was dirty and beds were super uncomfortable.

DO NOT be tricked (like I was) by good reviews. We tried to check in early, nobody was there, it was deserted and CREEPY. Once in our room, there was a dirty wet washcloth left on the shower head, yucky patched walls, and pet smells. So we bailed. This is a run-down motel right next to the interstate (major road noise) in a bad location. Nowhere to eat. No refunds. Spend an extra $30 in Columbia, or you will regret it.

Small, clean independent location.

The room was clean. There was a hole in the bathroom wall, caused by the doorknob. There was no remote for the television when we checked in, one was provided when I went to the desk to ask. The beds were a little tired in condition, but definitely clean and freshly made. Coffeemaker, microwave and mini fridge all functioned correctly and were clean.

Great motel value.

Motel was at a mid point in our trip to Colorado.This room had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, sound machine were great.Left key at room door and off we went.

Do like: It had great service from the staff. They had a Gideon Bible in the room. The cleanliness was good. What we didn't like - we had to run the fan on high to be able to get a good nights sleep. This was because the motel was so close to the freeway. There were also trains that came by.

Nice, clean hotel, family-owned. An oasis when we needed a place to sleep for the night on a cross country road trip with our cat. My priority was finding a hotel that would allow cats. Many pet-friendly hotels are actually dog friendly only. I called several hotels and found two in High Hill that would let our cat stay with us. We chose this one based on the recommendation of the first hotel I called (their credit card machine was down, so they could only accept cash - but directed us here). Good communication when I accidentally booked one of their non-pet-friendly rooms through hotels.com. They assured me they had a pet (cat!) friendly room for us, just not the one I'd booked. Easy check-in, comfortable beds, a non-smoking room, hot shower, and we didn't have to leave our pet in the car alone overnight - exactly what we needed for the night.

Hotel room dirty and pillows looked slept on. After seeing the room my husband asked for refund. Proprietor said no. Husband left and is now overnighting in St. CHARLES

The owners were delightful but the interstate noise and beat up furniture were unexpected from how high the reviews are.

The room was clean overall and was a good place for an overnight stay. The room could use some updates however it was a good value for the orice.

I was skeptical about this place, but after staying in it I'm glad I did. The place was very clean. The bathroom was absolutely perfect, everything seem new. I would absolutely recommend this place. The only thing I didn't like about it was I payed 30 more than what it was advertised on Expedia the night I stayed.

Basic room. The attendant at the desk was friendly. Room was in good order, relatively clean and quiet. Bathtub had soap scum but everything else was clean. I appreciated the Folger’s coffee in the room!

The wife found obvious dust on the micro-fridge and dirt in corners that I would not have noticed. We ascribe that to the male/female divergence on cleaning.

Would never stay here again

I'm not sure why this motel had such a good rating. I can only assume it was because people have low expectations of this level of a place. We just needed a decent place to sleep and shower so I booked it online. When we arrived the person behind the counter ask if we had pets or children with us so I told him just our small dog. Oh, he said, we don't have any king size beds in the pet friendly rooms. We had reserved a king online and it said that the motel was pet friendly. He said they can't possible have all rooms as pet friendly. I have never heard that one before. So I guess just the worn out rooms are pet friendly. We had to take a room with two small beds and it was in rough shape. I'll say that we survived but it was not worth what we paid. I should have gone with another place with more realistic reviews. The room smelled like a smoking room which it said it was not. Around the toilet was pretty disgusting. Air only kind of worked. Drapes did not close all the way. They clearly spent more time cutting the grass than keeping up on the rooms. We travel through here often and will never stay here again.

The family running this motel cares about their customers. This is a very simple motel, but it is clean and cared-for. A very pleasant stay on a very long road trip.

The Staff was very accommodating to us. We had a dog but I messed up when reserving the room and reserved a no pet room. They were so nice and gave us a room that was not for a pet and allowed us to keep the dog there. They also gave me great suggestions for dinning 4 miles away in a small town (i cant remember the name) the food was wonderful. The Hotel is right off the freeway so there is easy access on and off..

The owner’s were very friendly and the rooms were quite comfortable.

Located at the High Hill exit on I-70, Motel 70 is the only thing at the exit. THE ONLY THING! No food. No gas. No homes. Nothing! We had to drive 9 miles to find a Denny's restaurant at a truck stop for dinner. For any real choices, you have to drive about 14 miles. Motel 70 is an old-style motel with about 16 units with doors opening to the outside. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were showing some age but you could tell that updates were being made. Our unit had a brand-new toilet but the toilet paper holder was so old that the new, narrower rolls wanted to fall out of the spring arms. The door only has a chain as a security measure. I suggest you take your own door alarm system. Price made this a real value for your money.

Sweet Surprise

What a sweet surprise this place was! I booked it because of all the great reviews and it did not disappoint! It is literally the only thing off the highway at this exit, and as I drove toward it I thought "what have I gotten myself into?" But it exceeded all my expectations! The gentleman who checked me in was kind and interested, and upgraded me to a king room at no extra charge. The room itself was super clean, though parts seem a bit shabby. You can tell they are investing in the property to make it exceptional, and are on their way to success! The bed was super comfortable with lots of pillows. There was even a sound machine beside the bed if needed (I didn't use it). A fridge, microwave, and lots of TV choices. Great shower, though the towels were a bit thin...but clean and certainly did the job! This motel is exactly halfway for me on trips east and back, so I will be staying here again!

PROS- spotlessly cleaned. Good TV, microwave, refrigerator. Softer bed-maybe a 5-6 for firmness was comfortable. Right off Highway. Light blocking blinds. Noise machine worked great to block roadway noise—I liked the rain setting. In room coffee. Info on where to get fuel and gas in the area. CONS-carpet has seen better days. No breakfast. This is a great stop in the middle of not much. I would stay again.

Nice Stop over Motel

This is a very good overnight stop. The Motel rooms are very spacious which is nice after traveling all day. The negatives is that the freeway is noisy at night. It would also be nice if they had a few lawn chairs out in the grassy area by the picnic table. There really is nothing to do in the area so it would have been nice to sit outside at least. This motel is very basic but please keep in mind that they also priced it accordingly. About a mile up the service road we found an Arby's and a full service Loves gas station. The owner Harry is very hands on and is very proud of his place.

Highway noise was terrible. In desperate need of remodel. No gas or food within 5 miles.

Great stay

The property staff was extremely nice but the accommodations themselves were not great. The headboard had a thick layer of dust that grossed me out. The bed was pretty uncomfortable. They did provide a noise machine in the room which helped to block out the Highway traffic noise.
