Seminar stay.

Stayed in this hotel because the seminar was held in the same venue. Breakfast was excellent with a multitude of choices to suit any palette. Location was convenient to get to some of the big shopping malls yet not on the jammed packed main streets. There's lots of eateries nearby as well. Lunch and tea break that was served during the seminar was very tasty as well. One downside was the street outside is one way and my taxi driver did not know that and had to loop back. The hotel is undergoing some renovations so the scaffolding comes right up to the window which meant that I had to keep the blackout curtains closed. The bed is quite hard which suits me just fine but not my colleagues. So it depends on your preference.

Hotel is a great place in Jakarta. But the bed needs more cushion/topper.

One of my regular hotels in a great area. Nice staff. I hope they can do more to improve sustainability which is an issue in Indonesia. No more plastic bottles in the room please!

The Morrissey is a very welcoming place to stay, with friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and some great amenities including the pool, the fitness room, and the dining area. Lovely hotel, highly recommend!

Excellent stay for business trip

This hotel was wonderful overall. There is a lot of construction going on which does cause some morning and evening disruption but the rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the service is really great too.

I requested a queen bed and when I arrived the room is not ready and they provide me a twins bed not comfortable at all ! and the sofa leg is broken and I requested from the front desk 3 times to repair it or replace it and they just make a note with no action , and the shower floating as well I got no comment how to describe this just take a fast shower before the water go out to room !!! It was a nice hotel but not anymore.

My go-to in Jakarta

This hotel is conveniently located, has a lovely pool, and a great breakfast buffet. The ability to do your own laundry for free is also a nice touch. I definitely recommend!

Great staff and convenient location

So far my best accomodation experience in Jakarta. The service is great and staff super kind and very helpful and any small problem or my request they would be able to solve very quickly and flexibly. (e.g. First day I asked for Balsamic vinegar for salad, other day it was there). The room is cosy and it is very well equipped. Wifi works. They have 24/7 gym which is sometimes hard to find in Indonesia. This was my first stay here in Morrisey but definitely will come back again. Hotel location in Mentang is very convenient in case you need to stay close to Thamrin area where you can also walk [approx 15 min walk]. This was my first stay here in Morrisey but definitely will come back again.

Excellent hotel with the best service!

When we got to the hotel to check-in, the front desk person was very welcoming. On our way to our room whenever we went out and came back into the hotel, all workers had their warm smile on their face and greeted me and my friend. Breakfast was very high quality. We had many kinds of food that we could choose from which was a good thing since we were sort of craving for Western Style dishes due to our long stay in Indonesia. The location was around 25mins walk from Grand Indonesia Mall (we walked). Pool was awesome, tea area(?) right next to the pool had lights above so it was pretty at night (so as the pool). And finally, when we ordered our room service, the food that we ordered was delicious. Overall, I would love to stay in this hotel again in the future.

Top quality service staff

We enjoyed our stay at Morrissey. They were accommodating when we requested for a change in room because the air-con was not working well. The rooms are definitely in need of slight maintenance. The staff however were superb - they were friendly and polite and were ready to help.

i asked for a non smoking room because of my asthma, yes it was a non smoking room but it did not prevent other people on the floor from smoking; best to designate non smoking floors! otherwise, all good.

The design and concept is very modern and unique. Cafe at the 1st floor was terrible interns of quality of the food compare to the cost.

Fantastic hotel in a great location

Really good customer service, nothing was too much to ask for, fantastic breakfast with both local and Western options that changed daily, suits/shirts perfectly dry cleaned and pressed, great views of Jakarta and an infinity pool on the sixth floor. We stayed in a loft room on the 3rd floor. I was not expecting there to be an actual staircase leading upstairs to a bedroom, but once I got used to the idea it was great, because I was able to leave my partner to sleep undisturbed while I went downstairs to watch TV and work. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the decor was modern. Would definitely recommend. Fantastic location, lots of local food outlets and shops nearby and the Grand Mall just 15-20 minutes walk away. The only thing I didn't like was that the toilet upstairs in the ensuite had a glass enclosure - I prefer it to be concealed, like the toilet downstairs.

Helpful, friendly staff, good food (particularly in the adjoining "Ocha e Bella" Italian restaurant. Good central location. Great wifi, and a comfortable space for relaxed business meetings on the 2nd floor. Small gym/exercise room and pool but fine for a short stay.

Pool with view is nice. What stands out is service. They seemed to genuinely care about guest satisfaction, and were attentive and did not act as if things were a hassle.

My second returning stay and more for sure

Love everything about them from breakfast, room, facilities, staff and that's what make me choose them again. And most importantly I can use the washing machine and dryer whenever I want for a long business trip. The only thing to improve is gym facilities otherwise I have no complaint at all. Will definitely choose them again.

Unsatisfied

It was very good when I first wehn but over the time, it has really run down now and the breakfast is so bare. They used to have simple but good breakfast spread but now no.

Good standard, large rooms & central location

The Morrissey is a good hotel with a fairly good standard of service. I stay there often: a total of 15 weeks between August 2015 and January 2017. Despite this the hotel refuses to extend any special offers to me that they have extended to other colleagues staying roughly double the amount of time. The breakfast is fine for a few days but grows very boring after the third or fourth morning as there is little variety. Also the rooms could use some repainting and artwork.

Great hotel, horrible management

The management of this place is absurdly bad. I left my iPad in the room, called immediately, then six more times, plus emailed a dozen times to the lost and found email address -- and while they confirmed on the phone that the iPad was there, and I set up a FedEx pick-up, they refused to send it back to me and then ignored my subsequent communications. Now, four months later, I'm completely in the dark.

Close to city centre

Reasonable hotel, very helpful staff and good location. Kitchen staff even offered to make my lunch for the 7 hour train trip to Yog for no additional charges. Hotel could do with referb. Staff makes up for the worn down conditions.

Reasonable location hotel

Hotel was near to Jaksa street but i did not find much to my taste along the street. Anout 5-10min taxi ride to the Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia malls.

Well located and comfortable apartment hotel

There was a minor glitch on check in in that they couldn't trace our Expedia reservation. But that was sorted out quickly while we relaxed with a refreshing fruit juice. The rooms and decor generally are slightly quirky, but they are comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent and the pool is good with an engaging view over the city from the poolside. The staff are friendly, energetic and have a real can do attitude. We would recommend Morissey.

Breakfast trays was mostly empty and they didn't top it up fast enough even though I was there at around 830am. Their double bed is actually two single beds joined together so it wasn't as comfortable as an actual double bed. Other than that, no major issues

Have potential but needs to improve

The service apartments looks great at first, cool lobby, but shortly one discover that hotel is not up to standard. Many staff is inexperienced and needs training. Rooms looks interesting, but because of cheap material used, this place looks tired and partly dirty.

The studio room was excellent. Breakfast was also superb!! The only problem is the receptionists were not coordinating well! I always had different status of staying from every different receptionist...Also It took times to check in and you must pay/put deposit in advance for the whole price of staying :/ In all, it was not flexible!!! Otherwise, I love the place and the place has great location..

Great value and space for the price

I usually stay here on business trips to Jakarta (2-3 times per year). Very good service, rooms (apartments) are big and cool swimming pool and chilling area on the 6th floor. Gym is a bit small but good enough to do some training. Breakfast buffet is not too big but still good enough with different choices. Apart from that, the Italian restaurant Ocha Bella on the ground floor is fantastic, with great food and cocktails and live music.

I used to praise Morrissey alot, for its buffeet breakfast, and the fragrance in the lobby and room and the aisles. however this is my 3rd stay within 2 years here, and i find the standard dropped tremendously. first, the lobby ain't comfortable as in no fragrance at all, and it smells funny secondly, the mattress in the room wasnt comfortable at all and the room rather stuffy third, the aisle is very hot and humid, the moment i am out from the room while waiting for the lift, i was sweating. fourth, they limited to give you bottle of water. fifth, the buffet food for breakfast, they still maintain a very good quality. good job for that. but the room comfort and the hotel comfort as a whole has been declining. i hope you can improve it. the staff as friendly and accommodating as ever. great one.

The neighborhood is run down and way too much disrturance from the near by mosque which keeps you awake from 4 am . I would avoid at all costs

Terrible terible stay

Honestly this was one of the worst stays/ places to try to sleep in my life . Unfortunately the hotel was located near by to a local mosque and the noise / loud speakers playing the pray chants were intolerable . They started at 4 am and played loud chants for 1 hr and 15 mins . They had the speakers on for around 6 to 8 hrs total in the day time. It really does spoil the hotel . Btw my wife is Muslim so I am not at all discriminatory but his particular mosque and hotel location are just NOT COMPATIBLE. I warn against staying here at all costs

Excellent location as we were watching movies at Europe On Screen Film Festival in downtown Jakarta. The service is uneven, with some people excellent at hospitality, and others seemingly clueless on how to deal with even the smallest queries. The noise due to neighbourhood loudspeakers can be a little bit disturbing in the early hours of the morning, but for the most part the rooms are impressively soundproofed.

A great hotel at a reasonable price

Morrissey is a great hotel - the staff are very efficient and friendly; the rooms are spacious and comfortable; the décor is stylish and the breakfast has a huge range of delicious options - which are also varied daily. It has a small and very clean pool and gym on the top of the building with a great view of central Jakarta. It also has a laundry room where you can do your washing for free (a first in the many hotels I've stayed in around the world) and also offers free printing for most needs in the Business Centre. I really enjoyed my stay here. The only downside was that it was sometimes a bit noisy at night.

Good Breakfast, not so well maintained facilities.

I stayed for 5 days 4 nights this time. first impression, the hotel wasn't as nice as last year. no aroma therapy or air freshener in the lobby area or dining area, and rather unpleasant smell. i got the room in 914, the bathroom grips was losen. and the bathroom door can't be closed. also in the corridor has some musty smell.. however i like their breakfast choice, the chef did a good job to cook for the breakfast. and the location is great. near to menteng, near to thamrin and sarinah mall. the receptionist ( lady ) not so friendly, she gave me wrong instruction on wifi connection, and when i reminded her, she was rather impolite and unpleasant, (showed me bad gestures). additional inconvenient for me, the free parking needed to be register every single time the car come in, you need to ask the signed and chopped from the receptionist, if you failed to do that you will get charged. i like the room interior though, the dogs acrylics statue are good.

Noisy, but clean rooms and awesome food

This is a hotel for foodies. They have a great selection of food from all corners of the world, and they take pride in serving high quality. Personally I think they're selection exceeds that of some 5-star hotels. The room itself was nice, clean, and spacious with your own small kitchenette. The only problem I had was the mosque next door. The windows should have been better sealed or thicker, as they didn't shield much for the call to prayer sound early in the morning. These are the reasons why I give room comfort only 2 points, together with the note below. Internet and wifi was not very impressive. It was rather slow compared to other hotels I have stayed in around central Jakarta, and the connection process created some frustration as I had to keep reconnecting.

Not bad for the price. Drainage in the bathroom clogged up, so flooded the bathroom. Other than that, decent breakfast and wifi speed.

Regular guest

I'm a regular guest at the Morrissey. I usually get the executive room, as my stays are usually 10 days or more, however I have stayed in the normal rooms. The hotel is good value for money and quite stylish. My only complaint is that the hotel could be maintained better as it is showing a bit of wear. Otherwise the whole experience is good.

A great stay.

Service was really great. Everyone was very attentive. Check in was easy. Getting a taxi was no problem. Breakfast was a good mix of international and Americana. Italian restaurant was a great add. Shower in my room should have a tiny bit more of a lip to help the water stay in the shower but that was it! Great hotel. Would stay again.

Sick stay at Morrissey for Jakarta rave. AWESOME!

Morrissey serviced apartments catered to a group of 10 of us, in 3 rooms (2 x Studio and 1 x 2-Bedroom Apartments). We traveled from Singapore to Jakarta to attend the DWP (Djakarta Warehouse Project) 2-Day Music Festival. For a group of hardcore ravers, it was a dream stay. Breakfast was ample and not overly complex in its vast variety. Rooms were ample sized and priced very well for the roominess and quality. The pool is 24 hours so that provided us with some ample reason to kick back until the wee hours of the morning. Fortunately no rooms face the pool (on the 6th floor - infinity pool with a view of the city skyline). There is a room service option, but if you collect the food at the lobby, the price is about half, which is sweet. There is a street next to the hotel that has a lot of bars, supermarkets and shops so getting necessities was a breeze. Definitely would return for another stay here. Overall the decor is new, hip, chic, SOHO, hipster, ugh I guess it's just new-ish and isn't dated at all.

An oasis in a concrete jungle

5th time here & enjoyed every second of it. Staff are warm, knowledgeable & professional. Room is impeccably furnished & very comfortable. Breakfast spread is unique, varied & absolutely delicious. Ocha Bella the Italian restaurant serves excellent authentic wood -fired pizzas.

Great place to stay while in Jakarta

My wife and I stayed 3 nights while we were in town for the Jakarta Marathon and could not have found a better place to stay. The studio room was spacious and comfortable; we enjoyed using the pool and laundry facilities; the breakfast was one of the best "hotel breakfasts" we've ever had!

Unusual and quirky hotel which worked well.

Au usual slightly quirky hotel which can appeal to back packers and the more mature alike. Had a great pool and fitness centre on the roof. Breakfast room and food was fantastic. My only gripes were the size of the shower room and toilet which were tiny compared to the size of the room and also, although there was a room with a washing machine, if the hotel did it for you, they did it well but the price was very expensive indeed!

I stay at morrisey just one night at weekend to celebrate our anniversary.. Overall hotel was good. There are swimming pool and gym center which was quite nice. Breakfast many kinds of food but taste is not so good. Bed is small and i felt itchy. May be need some improvement of bed cleanliness.

Quirky fun and friendly hotel.

Quirky hotel with many clever little additions like a safe in which I could continue charging my devices while locked away; a very unusual breakfast room attractive comfortable and well stocked; the name which could be derived from the leader of a band; and the odd Vespa lying around. It offered a free shuttle to the local shopping mall which actually was not a difficult walk! In addition it had a glorious roof pool with fitness centre and chill out room. My only complaint was the size of the toilet and shower room...the rooms were a good size but in relation to the size of the room they were small. This probably stops it from attracting the 4/5 star traveller keeping it firmly in the younger back packer market. I liked it!

Parking lot too small and crowded, barely got space. Dusty carpet and (velvet) sofa in the room, toilet kinda small but still ok. We got a unique pair of sandals.. its left and left side Hahaha Noisy neighbourhood in the night But overall the breakfast buffet is tasty, the ambience is nice, so comfy and unique.. complete utensils at the studio

Stylist and modern

It's a great hotel, brand new, stylistic and well decorated. Comfortable. There is also a free laundry. Rooms are equipped with iron and iron board. Location is good. In the negative side: staff is friendly but inefficient. Upon to our arrival we informed the manager of the front desk (who was passing by in the corridor) that the toilet was dirty. When we come back in the afternoon it was still uncleaned. At the next day we leave the room around noon and tell personally the cleaner -who was working in the opposite room- that room was done. When we come back in the evening the room was still undone. In addition the swimming pool is small. If you come for swimming this is not your place.

Downfall of the chic hotel

Morrissey was my favourite hotel in Jakarta for quite a while. It came highly recommended from a friend who stayed there for a month at a time when he was sent to the city for work. This most recent trip was my fourth time staying at Morrissey and turned out to be greatly disappointing. The non-smoking room that I had requested in advance was not ready when I tried checking in. I was told to come back in a few hours and when I did, it was still not ready. The room that I was finally checked into stank of smoke. I was given an alternative room which was fine until I discovered bedbugs in the early morning. Instead of sending someone in a seniority position to address the issue, they sent a bellboy to help with the luggages, moving me yet again to another room. The hotel staff failed to understand the seriousness of having bedbug infestation in their hotel. The management did not follow up with this issue so I had to, on the 3rd day, reminded them of this problem. Only then was I told that the reception will send pest control and cleaners to the room - the one that was not affected by the bugs - to reassure us. Customer recovery skills and issue management were poorly executed. I doubt I will be returning. On the positive side, it is a great location and the staff are friendly and warm. Such a waste if management does not look at ways of improving the hotel's standards.

A refuge in Jakarta

The hotel was clean, modern, and had great amenities (laundry, business center, beautiful pool,etc). There is also a wonderful Italian restaurant connected to the hotel. The front desk staff was also extremely helpful.

Everything was great. Simply love the theme of this hotel..If you love spa treatment, there is a spa located just opposite the hotel. Street food can be found along the mainroad beside the hotel building. Im sure to return and would recommend this hotel to others.

excellent place to stay

This is a great hotel: the room is comfortable, it is centrally located and staff were great. The pool area on Level 6 is excellent. The Italian restaurant on the ground floor (Bella and Ochna), separately managed, is very good. My only (small) gripe is that the bathroom is a little cramped... and the (early morning) call to prayer in the neighbourhood is pretty loud. I definitely will stay again.

Excellent location near to Grand Indo and Plaza indo Mals. Rooms very suitable for long stay with kitchen facilities. The breakfast was very fine with a good range of foods which were fresh and well prepared. Great restaurant at the front of the hotel

Really enjoy the service of the staffs and I love the rooftop swimming pool plus the view of Jakarta Central. The room was awesome but it will be nice if have bathtub. Easy access to Jakarta Central and tourism places nearby, many good street foods and near to Sarinah Mall, Bundaran HI and all the major malls.

Almost excellent service

Nothing to complained about, except check-in time. I was there around 2.30 and had to wait until near 4pm because my room was not ready yet But overall it's a value for money and definitely will make Morrissey as my choice again
