Love it!!!
Juan a l’acceuil etait acceuillant et tres gentil. Le petit déjeuner etait délicieux et le service excellent! Mayra au restaurant etait polie, souriante et attentionnée. Tout était super , on retournait définitivement!! Merci!
The room we had has a nice view of the lake. The room is clean, large, and close to the downtown.
This amazing place.. clean rooms Has delicious meal in restaurant. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Excelente ubicación, cerca de restaurantes y comercio, el desayuno muy bueno, y la comida del restaurante deliciosa. Volveria de nuevo!!
Best Breakfast, Clean Room. But, noise between wall....
Great hotel with nice amenities.
The hotel is beautiful and well located. However, at the lobby we were offered tours at "market prices." We booked one tour, only to later discover they almost doubled the price of the tour. Makes me really angry when this happens. Maybe it was my fault for not calling their bluff. They do great as a hotel nonetheless.
Amazing service!
Pros: location, property cleanliness, service, view Cons: little things are extra $$ (water bottles in room, cappuccino at breakfast)
Love this hotel!!! Super cozy, helpful staff and just a few steps from restaurants.
This was a great hotel.
This is a perfect hotel, walking distance to the down (10min ish but quick 10min), the waterfront is 1min away. Rooms are big and spacious and clean. The bathroom was big and clean. Highly recommend staying here. Breakfast is included and they have sweets, assortments of bread, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, fruits, and el calafate jam (so you don't have to buy you're own to try!) The staff can answer any of your questions and provide details on tours. We stayed here for 3 nights and have no complaints.
Awesome stay
Mirador del Lago was amazing. The staff is great and friendly, the breakfast is superb, the room is cozy and nice with everything you need, the common areas are cute with books and board games to enjoy. The location is also great, it is close to everything walking and the hotel has bicycles at no cost.
This is a clean property with comfortable beds and good showers. The staff were very good and courteous. The breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. It was a very convenient place to stay.
The carpet in the hallway is showing wear. We were upgraded to a suite but the HVAC dìd not work. We asked for help at front desk but no help was given. No resolution to the problem.
Great hotel, fabulous attentive and helpful staff, large clean well cared for rooms. Right on the edge of town very close to all shopping and services. Very close to beautiful lake packed with beautiful flamingo and swans. Loved our stay. Bus boy was simply amazing
Very good hotel services, breakfast and dining options although less sound insulated and outdated room
Great hotel, walking distance to the city. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
Nice common áreas and friendo y staff. Well located with private parking.
Wonderful staff
I contacted Expedia to cancel the booking and requested a refund the day before the check- in date due to an airline strike. I should be eligible for at least a partial refund based on the timing of the notification but Expedia and the property botched the process and failed to cancel the reservation. So far they are refusing any refund. I will tell anyone who will listen to avoid Expedia and this property until this is resolved in a fair manner.
The staff was outstanding. We were having all sorts of airline trouble because of a strike. They were very helpful. breakfast and dinner was excellent. The view was beautiful. With balconies. A little bit of road noise, but not much. Earplugs helped me because I’m a light sleeper. Very few others would have problems.. It’s not like it was a busy road, but when a car went by, you could hear it because the road is right next to the beautiful lake that they are on.
Room was clean, in-house restaurant was very good, breakfast was excellent (many choices with the freshest fruit), staff were very helpful and friendly and downtown was within walking distance.
No aircon, so stifling hot in summer. You can open the window but there is no flyscreen so then all the bugs come in. Breakfast is decent, dinner is nice.
The hotel was full to the brim, but all personnel was kind, anticipating every need and eager to help. Conveniently located on the Main Street within a walkable distance to downtown and Lago Argentino. The rooms are spacious, bed is comfortable, there is a bathtub for a soak after visiting the glacier and other attractions. No coffee machine in the rooms and no irons, but not sure if that is the standard for the country.
Super nice people. Worked with us when we missed a flight, arriving a day later. Helpful with suggestions. Good service for things like picnic lunch for day hike.
Nice location
The staff was nice. we did not get to try their restaurant. the hotel did not have air-conditioning. Could open the window but was not comfortable because our room was on the floor 0 and it was even with the ground. there was no screen on the window. Gaps in wood covering was wide enough for birds and animals and bugs to come in. Parking was terrible. Insufficient insufficient spaces available.Very good location! Walking distance from restaurants and shopping. Comfortable beds.
It’s a very nice hotel, it’a a shame that you can hear everything, so if you try to sleep over more you won’t be able cause you’ll here everything that’s happening outside.
Super friendly staff. We booked a two night stay and a one night stay separated by a night due to our hiking plans (3 out of four nights). Unfortunately, we missed two flights and were delayed coming to town. We missed the first night but the hotel did not charge us (even though there was no time for notice while we were stuck at our connecting airport).
the property is nice, a little further from downtown
The one big positive was the lake view and proximity to the town, just short walk. Billed as a 5 star, it was far from that. Very dated rooms. It was a regular 3 star with a very mediocre restaurant. I ate much better food in town. The staff were very pleasant, but it an impersonal experience.
Convenient location to downtown. Polite and courteous staff. Clean rooms. Delicious breakfast included. Nice lake view.
El personal es súper amable y el hotel muy bonito
Great stay in El Calafate
Recommend this hotel. Good location, walkable and safe: staff is very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast.
Jazmin was amazing !!! Outstanding!!! she was helping us with our excursions reservations, súper profesional , fast and kind Great location to walk to many restaurants specially “ mi viejo “ ask for Cristian ( great guy )
Amazing hotel
My husband and three teenage children rented two connected rooms at Mirador del Lago and had an amazing experience. Staff is beyond friendly and willing to assist you 24/7. From Juan in the reception to Verónica and her team in the restaurant. Rooms were cleaned daily, beds were really comfortable, good quality of toiletries (very unusual in this region of Argentina), and perfect room temperature for the harsh Patagonia winter. The restaurant is one of the best in town and the breakfast was like a 5star hotel: from the classic eggs & bacon to cured meats, cheese, yogurt, fruits and a huge variety of pastries, breads, and cereals. Highly recommended.
Hairs in the sink upon arrival. Bugs/ flies (more than a dozen apparently coming out of pillows) in the bed.
I really love this hotel, the view, tranquility and the location. I would go back again. Ana Lazaro-Shiben
Incredible hotel.
The staff was friendly and very informative. The room was comfortable and they had a nice selection for breakfast. Short walk to many restaurants and shops. I would stay here again.
Hotel is very pretty- on a hill overlooking the lake. 20 minute walk to town which was easy, though there are stores and restaurants nearby too. Juan at the front desk was especially amazing and helped us rearrange our excursions and gave great advice for how to spend a half day I. El Calafate.
Great staff and service, very good restaurant, Wished I had a better view of the lake but I would not hesitate to come back here again!
One night stay after 22 hrs of travel. Room was clean and front desk very helpful and friendly. Walkable to Main Street. Room facing street was very noisy. Breakfast good. Would recommend
Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Parking is easy. Breakfast is great.
Incredible, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff (especially Juan). Elevated dining experience, excellent common areas. Easy and short walk to town but slightly away from the noise of it. Rooms a little small/basic, good for backpackers.
Great hotel in a nice location. Beautiful view of the lake. The staff are excellent. Excellent customer service. They really take care of the guests. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms are big and quiet. I highly recommend this hotel.
Carlos at the front desk was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and helped us plan our activities while there!
Decent room with comfortable beds. About 10 min walk to town center with multiple restaurants. Our kids enjoyed the game room. Staff were friendly… Carlos was very helpful in arranging the excursions.
Great location, nice rooms, a bit small though. Nice helpful staff, good food.
Beautiful hotel with amazingly helpful and friendly staff! Breakfast was fabulous with so many choices!
The staff is great. They are always ready to help. Great please to stay in El Cafate.
Photos are better than the reality
The hotel is nice but rooms are small with out air conditioning! The service in the restaurant is really bad!
COVID19 quarantine
Not your average hotel stay. We were greeted warmly, had local tourist activities advised, enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant and buffet breakfast the following morning. We then get a call to the room advised that we had to be shut in due to COVID19 quarantine as foreigners who had been in Argentina less than 14 days. Staff were very good bringing us food but it was obvious some were now terrified of us whilst others kept us sane by laughing with us. Our plans fell down around us with flights cancelled, whole towns quarantined as we hammered our iPads trying to get flights home. With 2 more days until our flight out of El Calafate, reception called advising us to go past the hospital, get a travel clearance & get to the airport as it was closing in less than 24hrs. They facilitated the taxi and another taxi to deliver my purse left in the hotel safe in our hasty departure. Would loved to have experienced more of this charming hotel and town. Not their fault and we all did the best under the circumstances.
Clean room, friendly staff, good restaurant with great view over the lake
great Calafate hotel
We really enjoyed our stay. Dinners were excellent and affordable. The staff spoke English and were very friendly. The location was excellent as many tour operators used the hotel for transfers. And we were within easy walking distance of the central city for shopping. Our only complaint is that the room was quite warm. El Calafate is generally very cold so there is no air conditioning.
Great internet, close to town, not noisy, good staff
Service was great the front desk helped us get a english speaking guide and housekeeping did our laundry overnight. Location was great- rooms were very small and we would recommend bringing an eye mask because the curtains do not black out sun light.
good choice
Comfortable, slightly old style hotel. Good breakfast and you can buy lunch boxes for day trips. A little bit of noise in rooms from adjoining rooms but beds very comfortable.Staff at front desk very helpful.
Property was attractive and well-maintained. Our room had a pleasant view (a little above ground level) looking out toward lake. The location was within walking distance of shops and restaurants on the main street (Libertador). Breakfast was varied and delicious - breads, pastries, ham/cheese, eggs, cereals, etc. My two difficulties with the stay: 1) the room was too warm and we were not able to adjust the temperature -- it made sleeping a little more difficult; 2) the staff seemed quite indifferent to the guests -- cool and not eager to take steps to accommodate.
Front desk service was exceptional and made our holiday. Breakfast & restaurant very good so we did not eat elsewhere. Rooms on small size but functional and very clean.
Location room staff That said, staff misrepresented a tour😖
Comfortable stay in Calafate
This hotel is conveniently located at the end of the main strip in town and is perfect for a stay in El Calafate. The hotel is very warm and cosy (even a little too warm at times), with nice spaces and comfortably sized rooms. Breakfast is adequate and will keep you going for exploring beautiful Patagonia.
Clean, very helpful staff good breakfast buffet. Sale of tour guide was misleading and cost more than advertised
El servicio fue genial, te sientes cómodo y bienvenido . El desayuno es delicioso. En general recomiendo el lugar al 100 por 100.
Close to town, beautiful view and the best is that guests ares the last ones to be picked up for tours and the first to be dropped off.
Nice location Nice staff Rooms are very good Did not like that we have to pay for mate. No swimming pool No transfer to airport
Great place
Great overall. Only complaint was that there was no thermostat to control the temperature of the room, and the room was set to a very warm temperature with no way to lower it.
all good. staff very friendly and helpful. lovely hotel
Good place to base out of while in El Calafate. Easy walk to town.
A bit out of town and hard to find due to sign issues.Good breakfast buffet and overall pleasant.
Comfortable, convenient to Calafate, but quiet, very helpful staff.
The location is near the lake, the facility is clean and unique with the wood material, and it is very close to the center of the City. The staff also took time to provide directions, recommendations, and were very courteous.
Leaves a Lot to be desired for 4-star hotel
The hotel has nice service, attention at the reception was great and they put in some the effort to accommodate our food needs. The breakfast has very limited options, and most of the food was bought in the supermarket, not good value for money. The 4-star is nowhere comparable to US hotels, the rooms are super small and hard to move around.
Out room was literally next to reception and over three days they could not get the Wifi working despite numerous requests. They would nod and say we will pass it onto maintenance
The reason I am giving bad review to this hotel is because after having the reservation for more than 5 months they did not have the room for my wife and I. I am very disappointed by the hotel and also Expedia since i reached out customer support but they did not get back to me with the relocation. The initial hotel sent us to another property with totally different quality and amenities.
Good location for the town, comfortable rooms although walls a bit thin. Very good breakfast, pleasant staff, reasonably priced restaurant with good food which was convenient when you don’t want to go out after a long day on a trip.
I like everything excelente ,buena localización buena atención súper limpio , el desayuno Buffet súper bueno
Friendly staff, lovely hotel, large airy room. They had a fridge and the breakfast was excellent
Very good hotel.
Very good hotel.
They accomadated us when we arrived early. They allowed us to frashion up.
The Mirador was a short walk to all the restaurants, bars and shops in downtown El Calafate. The two rooms we had were nice and clean. The property itself is quite unique - it has a rustic, cabin-like feel. The breakfast buffet had a nice spread. I definitely recommend staying here...I know next time we are in Patagonia we will stay there again.
Clean, organized, great staff, close walk to town.
Basic room..noisy....breakfast average. Staff were helpful
Very Nice Stay
Amazing service, comfortable rooms, great breakfast, great location, good wifi!
It was a very good place to stay at El Calafate. The staff in the restaurant was particularly friendly.
Great value and nice location. I would go back if visit Calafate again
Good hotel near to the lake but close enough for a nice walk downtown
Enjoyed Mirador for third time
Third year I have stayed at Mirador in El Calafate, and it is as good as ever. Reception were very helpful, even taking my broken suitcase out to car the day I was leaving - and it was snowing quite heavily! Great location, very good breakfast, not a noisy place, free parking on site, free WiFi. I had a large room [with a view of Lake Argentina], big bathroom, all well maintained. It has a 'Book Exchange'; great idea, so you can swap books you have read for something new.
Really friendly and helpful staff
The reception staff were really helpful with a problem I had with an excersion booking and the service generally was friendly and professional. Also just a pleasant walk into the main town, this is a great hotel I would defiantly recommend.
Great place to stay!
This is a really nice place to stay in El Calafate. We are at the restaurant one night for dinner; it was delicious with excellent service. Carlos was on duty when we arrived, and he was most professional. He went well beyond the norm to make our stay pleasant . It was comfortable and well located on the main street through town. I highly recommend this hotel.
Great hotel
Very good hotel walking distance from the center of town. Updated and clean rooms and bathrooms, beautiful view. Staff is friendly and outstanding customer service. I strongly recommend eating at the restaurant ...the food and service were excellent and the wine list as well and if you make reservations early they extend a 10% discount.
sewage soaked carpets!!
We stayed here in March 2018. Awoke at 7am to the room filling with water from the bathroom. Went to front desk to see if I could get another room and told they didn't have another. Apparently the sewage has backed up many times before. All the rooms on the lower floor had water coming out from under the doors. The staff had obviously cleaned this up before as they all had rubber boots and masks to do the job. All they did to clean was vacuum up the foul smelling water and dry the carpets with fans. DO NOT stay here on the lower floor as these carpets are clearly nasty! Tired to get a refund and the management said since it was booked with Expedia would have to go through them. After repeated calls to Expedia (since they did not follow-up as they promised the first time) I just gave up as they claimed they could not get in touch with the management at the hotel.
Nice hotel near town
We stayed 3 nights in March 2018. The hotel is very comfortable clean, great breakfast and staff was very helpful.
Great views from public areas. An easy walk to the lake.
Beautiful lake views
Lovely, well-maintained modern hotel on outskirts of El Calafate. Beautiful lake views from rooms (recommend 506), excellent staff, easy walk into town, and pretty walk by lake very near. Staff very helpful - arranged Perito Moreno tour next day, helped with transfers. Restaurant tries hard but is a bit overpriced.
Overall a good spot
It's a good hotel. We stayed there two nights. The first night we were in a suite which was great but in the front and it was too noisy. There second night we were in the back on a low floor and it was comfortable and clean but a little depressing, but at least quiet. The staff was very nice. The restaurant is hit or miss. First night it was great. Second it was Flavorless and service was slow.
Great choice for Calafate
The hotel is within a walking proximity to the central area of Calafate, has lovely lake views and the staff will make sure everything about your stay works simply perfectly - from comfort to visiting tours
The front staff was wonderful. They kept my suitcases, answered questions, and went above and beyond. I much prefer this hotel to the Lagos Del Califate where I had to move to.
