Pro's: clean. great views bright with windows. it was close to plenty of hiking and cross-country skiing. Cons: the room we were in - needed a new mattress a decade ago. I see they are updating the rooms with sound proofing etc. but the bedding should be a priority. I would have asked to have the room switched if I laid on it earlier when we checked in.
Recently updated with a new owner, the Minnowaska Lodge is better then ever!
renovated and cozy!
Fabulous lodge for a mountain getaway with easy access to nature and trails. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Staff are wonderful. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be having more of a pantry type market onsite since the only nearby restaurant (which is fabulous) closes quite early! Would absolutely stay here again.
Nice place, beautiful views.
Great stay at charming lodge style hotel. Recently remodeled with comfortable accommodations. Delicious breakfast and comfortable room for dining.
The host was nice and helpful.
Wonderful
Wonderful stay near Lake Minnewaska
Lovely staff and beautiful property. Very relaxing stay.
Liked everything. Wonderful place.
Honestly better than I expected. Renovations wonderful. Staff attentive an helpful. Building clean and really authentic for area. Grounds perfect and beautiful.
I love how quiet the place is! And lots of nice energy with the view of the mountains
Keep up the good work Eric. Updates looking great!
Great stay for my daughter's move-in day at New Paltz. Beautiful lodge and setting!
Under new management this was excellent stay. The new owner obviously cares about the property and investing to improve it. Loved the room, the quite, and the breakfast!
Such a nice little place to relax and hide away. The staff truly make the lodge! Eric was super helpful with a late check in and personal touches of handwritten notes as well as knowing customers by name at breakfast. The rest of staff was equally accommodating and friendly. The lodge was under some construction with upgrades during our stay, but the quality and experience never missed a beat. Will certainly come back to see the finished product!
Nice people
Poor condition for high price
This property isn’t worth the money. Needs an upgrade. Good location for hiking/biking. Breakfast was pretty good. No other amenities on site for high price.
Amazing place to stay
This was a great experience in an area accessable to so many things to do. The hotel made our stay in the area feel like a home away from home. Thank you all for the great experience.
Stunning and cozy lodge, warm and friendly hosts.
Friendly staff
The people running the place were fantastic. The room was clean but dated. The bed constantly creaked and the one time I needed to hang clothes up there was no rod to hang them on. The tv remote only worked in one spot because of how they installed the box. All and all I liked the place and it was close to where I needed to be.
Pretty resort!!
Son’s wedding trip
We had a wonderful stay at the lodge! Eric and his staff were friendly and very helpful. The lodge was very clean and comfortable and the grounds were gorgeous! It was the perfect place to stay for my son’s wedding. We would absolutely stay there again!!!
Peaceful
Great location and peaceful. Room was clean, slightly dated decor, breakfast was very good, more then we expected. Hand rails for showers should be added.
Great stay
Great location with wonderful views. The new owners have done a lot of work to upgrade the facility. And the breakfast was excellent.
It is a great location for hiking Minnewaska State Park
Close to the state park, a couple of trails on the property. Clean rooms, great view from the cliff side rooms.
This Lodge was beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The staff went above and beyond to make my husband's birthday truly memorable. The grounds and rooms are well maintained and clean. The trails on the property are great for little kids. The Inn keeper is super nice and friendly. I plan on definitely returning in the future.
Weekend Getaway
I had the pleasure of staying here for a much needed weekend getaway and let me tell you this lodge delivered. I had the most relaxing and peaceful stay. Definitely what I needed to recharge. Eric was super friendly as well as the entire staff. I have a very weird obsession with gnomes and this place had fairy gardens !!! I even bought some spring gnomes for them in hopes Eric would add it to their fairy set up. The lodge is dog friendly and while my furry friend didn't accompany me on this trip, it was so nice seeing the other puppers have fun on the property. The fire pits were amazing. The views were amazing. I will absolutely be returning.
Wonderful time! The staff was friendly and helpful, the views beautiful We couldn't have asked for more.
Visiting New Paltz to enjoy a weekend of walking/hiking and didn’t want to spend what it costs to stay at Mohonk Mountain House. Found this place on Expedia and are so happy we did. Everything about it is charming with lots of cozy and inviting common spaces sitting on a great piece of property with fire pits and Adirondack chairs scattered about. The complimentary breakfast every morning is excellent. Conveniently located to town and many beautiful walking trails. If we return to the area, we will stay there again.
We had a great time at the lodge for 2 nights during Easter week-end. We have enjoyed the property, the fire pit, lounge with its continental breakfast, chat with other guests and the owner Eric whom was very accommodating. We have enjoyed the room and the restaurant across the lodge. We will definitely come back!
Amazing place
Amazing! This place is magical. The views are breathtaking, the owner is warm, attentive, welcoming, and hospitable. The breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room such an awesome and gorgeous space. Outstanding!!
Great time, cool place and helpful people…. Just i need to tv watch youtube i didn’t connect any wi-fi.
Lovely property with very friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent staff, nice breakfast, beautful mountain views, good restaurant nearby. They are undergoing some nice renovations.
Perfect stay!
This is my favorite place to stay on the Hudson Valley . The serenity , and comfort is outstanding . They treat you like family here. I will be back !
What a gem!
Wonderful relaxing stay. Perfect in every way .
First visit since new ownership. Eric, the new owner, is a very welcoming host and is making wonderful improvements. His team members are extremely pleasant and helpful. We look forward to recommending the lodge to friends and to our own return.
We had a wonderful stay - everything was clean & breakfast delicious ! A perfect place for a weekend getaway.
Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Setting was very picturesque. Breakfast was very disappointing - first morning I had a bagel that was very hard, eggs were cold as was the coffee. I thought maybe just a bad day. Unfortunately the 2nd morning, the breakfast was the same - hard bagels (not fresh), eggs cold, etc.
A+
Stayed for a night before hiking in Minnewaska. Amazing service and a great place to stay! Friendly staff and a beautiful location.
Everything !
Excellent
Great
Nice but housekeeping needs work
Front desk staff was very nice. Breakfast was good and the place is cute. We have stayed here 3 times over the last few years. My only complaint was I left the sign for the room to be cleaned and no one ever came. We ran out of tissues and had to go to the front desk to get a box. Plus my husband emptied the tiny garbage cans. I don’t need new sheets or towels usually over the weekend but the bed should have been made up and the garbages emptied! The staff also would have noticed we had no tissues if they actually entered the room.
New management has made some nice upgrades since our last stay. Love the trails on property! Eric was a great host and nice breakfast included. We will be back.
The staff at this hotel were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay so enjoyable and comfortable. definitely will go back.
Had a great weekend and it was our first time, super quiet and cozy. The grounds were just beautiful
Tranquility in the Woods
Beautiful building tucked away off the road welcomes you to a very tranquil space. Very friendly helpful staff. Eric is always present to make sure you’re happy and comfortable. The room was very large with a king size bed. Bathroom very spacious and bright. We enjoyed the smallness of the inn where you could leave your door open and feel safe. The guests are all there for the peacefulness and the beautiful grounds where you can relax by a fire pit or walk thru the several trails off in the woods. Breakfast was plentiful with a great variety that would please anyone. Really loved our weekend there.
Rooms are ok but no soundproofing between rooms or floors . Only redeeming feature was manager and staff who were excellent. As a result not a relaxing or quiet place at night
Anniversary Stay
Eric and Staff at check in were great. From Rochester NY, so not used to $$$ like this for one night. Understood it is easily accessed from NYC. View is amazing...very nice overnight for a anniversary stay. Bed was very comfortable.
Personal and employees were professionals
“luxurious on-site accommodations, you can experience quiet serenity and world-class hospitality all at nature’s doorstep; our lodge is in proximity to numerous local Hudson “ Clean & well taken care of but Luxurous and world class service (No WAY)
Not too good.
Staff at the front desk was very friendly and location is good. But …. Very noise, we hear everything around us, like people walking and people talking in the back. AC was very loud. Breakfast was terrible, coffee was super weak and just bagels and some pieces of cake. All fruit was left overs. We had to ask for room service ( cleaning ) and changing towels. Also, they show pool in the amenities, but they DON’T have a pool.
Minnewaska Lodge
Comfortable and clean room with a beautiful view off the back deck. Conveniently located for both the Minnewaska State Park and the Mohonk Preserve.

Beautiful location
Perfect Getaway.
I took my husband for a quick getaway for his birthday. It's a family run establishment, with a personal touch. There was calming music and treats, tea at check in. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable, with a stunning view! We went for a hike in Minnewaska State Park during the day, and then we walked across the street from the lodge to the Mountain Brauhaus for a delicious dinner! Perfect night!
Great hotel perfectly located for hiking and enjoying nearby New Paltz and Minnewaska park. Clean and friendly. Highly recommend Minnewaska Lodge
Easy to get around. Good location. The owner was not friendly.
Not worth the money.
For $500+ a night I expected more than a mediocre room and a haphazard buffet breakfast. Beautiful view of the cliff, gorgeous location, nice staff. Try the German restaurant across the street!
Clearly a place to return to whenever you can. The view, quiet, and relaxing environment are perfect for a few days of rest!
$1000 wasted on this hotel
This was a return visit, and soooo disapointing. I've never wasted $1000 before on a hotel, but I did here.
Wonderful staff. Close to everything but feels secluded and tucked away in a gorgeous mountain side Loved the fire pits and comfortable beds
The location is incredible with spectacular views of the gunk mountains. The only suggestion I have is to avoid on the first floor. The noise from rooms above were very disruptive. Very little soundproofing between the rooms.
Kid Friendly, good wifi.
We have been coming every year, they just changed management and everything was vey nice, with breakfast and fire pit. We enjoyed the multiple on-site trails which we took our kid to everyday, without it the hassle of driving. We also enjoyed the board games by indoor fireplace. Good wifi. Bed was very comfy.
Great
It was very quaint and personal.
It is so cozy and warm and the staff are so accommodating. It's always such a lovely stay.
Staff was very friendly and attentive especially Rachel! Offered suggestions for activities and restaurants that were very good. Would definitely stay again.
Exemplary customer service!
We love it here…comfortable clean and beautiful, great staff:)
Great place
Beautiful location, cozy lodge with fireplace, great service! Just beware of thin walls- we had some “bunnies” going at it for three days next to us all hours of the night. Still will go back! Highly recommend a room with the cliff view and deck. Also walk the 1.9 miles around Lake Minnewaska.
Very attractive, tastefully furnished and comfortable...extremely pleasant and helpful staff. It was too cold to sit around the fire pit so we'll have to come back.
Lovely. Will go back.
Beautiful location and views. Outdoor deck, walking paths and lovely breakfast offerings. Very friendly and helpful staff that offer hiking options and places to visit in the area. Yoga onsite offered on the weekends.
Location was great! Close to hiking and the funky town of New Palz. Friendly, helpful staff. I wish you wouldn't hear noise from other rooms such as footsteps right above me - quite loud, walls s bit thin. I suggest taking a room on the top floor and one not facing the road. Continental breakfast was sufficient. Guest parking was removed a bit and near the road. Not the safest feeling as a solo woman traveler, making my way up to the hotel at night. However, I would stay again.
In dining room napkins were missing !!!
Nice place great staff
Didnt honor the reservation made
Booked my room on hotels.com 6 months in advance. Got confirmation for 2 double beds for 3 adults, cliffside. Got reservation confirmation. Got a separate confirmation from the lodge. As a precaution, i called the lodge in august to confirm our reservation was still ok. Was told we had 2 double beds, cliffside, for 3 adults. When we arrived to check in, we were told they had us in a cliffside room with one king bed. We told them that wasnt what we were guaranteed and 1 bed wouldnt do for 3 people. We were told its a big bed! When pressed, they acknowledged our reservation, but said the mistake probably occurred due to us using a 3rd party to book. They did provide a rollaway, but that really took up space. Also be aware they had one of the worst breakfast selections of our trip. We were on a 5 week road trip to see leaves and this was week 4. Their service does not reflect their fees. We will not go back and will not recommend.
This was our 4th stay at the lodge , the scenery surrounding the lodge is amazingly. We really enjoy lounging by the firepits at night.
Minnewaska Lodge
Lovely location, room clean and comfortable, staff nice. I only have good things to say about the Lodge.
Beautiful view … nice outside area with propane fire pit with Adirondack chairs
I liked that it was tucked away in the mountains. Wildlife all around.
Lodge
Lovely lodge, fine service. Nice continental breakfast. Great setting and views. Beds were small, bathtub was slippery .
Quiet but simple lodge near mnts of Hudson Valley
Quiet and peaceful with great, friendly staff. Beautiful view of mountains and outdoor trail/fire pit/deck to enjoy. Room was plain with no extras. Good value but very limited. Continental breakfast was fine. Fruit was good.
Nice property. Nice grounds. Lit fire pits at night were very nice. Room had no cups.
Fabulous lodge.
Fabulous boutique lodge. 26 rooms. Great outdoor space. Loved the fact that there are no TV’s in public areas. Plenty of time to commune with nature. Close to Lake Minnewaska and Mohonk Preserve. No pool or gym.
Fantastic and comfortable place to sit out the storm. A great home base from which to explore the Catskills. The fireplace in the suite was a lovely and cozy. A light, fresh, organic breakfast was perfect!
Very cozy place. Staff wonderful and many nice touches. Recommend if you’re in the area!,
The property is in a beautiful setting. We did the trails. The rock scramble was challenging. What we didn't like was the room. It was pretty pricey for something like a cheap hotel room; paper thin walls, no hair dryer in the bathroom and no opportunity to procure ice.
A Cozy Place to Stay near Great Hiking
Hiked the Ice Caves at Sam’s Point with the grandchildren. Had a pleasant overnight at the Minnewaska Lodge. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at night roasting marshmallows. A nice touch. The next day we hiked at nearby Minnewaska State Park.
simple , yet delicious breakfast, some locally sourced.
It is a mountain lodge near the Minnewaska Lake. Wonderful location to experience the mountain within two hours from NYC. Fresh local fruits, tea and coffee were available all day. The only negative is that for the price of the room, the bathroom can be better - it is below the quality of an average hotel like Comfort Inn.
The staff was excellent and the rooms were clean.
I loved almost everything about the lodge. The staff was very friendly and provided helpful information about the area upon my arrival. The food and facilities were wonderful and I especially appreciated the availability of excellent coffee at all hours. The grounds were beautiful and I loved the trails around the lodge. My only complaint was that sound traveled very easily through the walls, making the room rather noisy.
Eric and staff are the absolute best. I did a book signing there and it was the perfect place for it. Clean. You can’t ask for a better ambiance. Absolutely beautiful!
