Saved my holiday
I had a terrible experience at Great Fortune hotel and spa when the staff were violent, calling unsavoury characters to the hote and I was forced to move to another hotel. I came here and within 5 minutes I was checked in and given a cup of tea..really really friendly and excellent services..I will use this hotel this hotel has renewed my faith that good people exist again..Thankyou
Is not worth the money.
Hotel quality was pretty bad, everything is old, even towels and bad sheets looked like they haven’t been changed in years. Description said they would provide free transportation to the airport, but of course they did not. Room had a bad smell because of the poor sewerage. Hotel breakfast didn’t have any drinks but tea, coffee or water, no juices or anything else. The food quality was average. Location was central, but that’s about only good thing.
Good location
Disappointing experience
Hotel is conveniently located, but I had some issues. I had a 5 night stay, the Bathroom light was broken on the first day. I asked multiple staff members to fix it, but nothing was done so I just had to make do without it which was very annoying. They didn't clean the room so during the stay I asked for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels to be provided but these weren't provided until 9pm the night before I left. An error in my booking resulted in me being charged an extra night and the hotel refused to refund this. Overall I was disappointed with the level of service. The bathroom was nicely decorated, however the bedroom felt old and dated. If I am back in Istanbul I will definitely be trying somewhere else, as there were cheaper options nearby which seemed at least as good.
Passable, but lacking for a 4* hotel
The hotel is in a good location and the price seemed competitive. Unfortunately we were allocated a bad room at the front of the building, with no view, overlooked by apartments opposite with loud noises at all hours from the street. The room was also dirty on arrival (hair and mud on the wooden floors) and only cleaned once (we had to request it!) in our three night stay. The room was large (big enough for 2 couples), but the duplex layout meant it felt like having two separate, smaller rooms. The door to the outside balcony couldn't be locked, which felt unsafe for this central, busy area. The breakfast service was good and the kitchen staff were lovely. Staff were friendly, but could do with better organisation and more cleaners.
was said to have access to the indoor pool / jacuzzi but sadly did not have access till last 3 days of my visit p:s was there for 12 days seems to pull customers into an expectation but did not deliver as Advertised on the website. the Staff are Great and helpful , just be sure the facilities are active and running inbefore you book!
No amenity such pool gym
It is a lively neighborhood but no swimming pool.
Everything is perfect I had enjoyed 6 days and i felt. Like im at home one of the best places ever stayed
Helpful Staff
the recepetion staff was very friendly they offered us water, cakes and small pastries on arrival. mehmed on the reception was very friendly. the first room given o us had and issue with cooling so they promptly upgraded to a different room at 2AM. the midnight reception - Osman was very helpful.
Good things about Miapera hotel: The location is great - on a quiet side street but only 1 minute walk to Istiklal street with all the shops, bars and restaurants. Galata tower is also very close. The price is reasonable for the area, particularly as the hotel has a spa/pool. We found all the staff very kind and helpful. The hotel Turkish-style buffet breakfast had lots of choice. Unfortunately there were a few things that let this place down. What could have been better: We found the mattress on the bed uncomfortable and we woke up each morning feeling stiff and achy. The air conditioning was ancient and didn’t work properly so the room was very hot. We asked about this and were told nothing could be done. For these reasons alone, we wouldn’t stay here again. Also, although the interior decor in the lobby and restaurant was nice, in the rooms and spa it was quite shabby and run down in places (stains on floors, mould in bathroom, loose and cracked tiles in the pool) which didn’t make it feel clean.
I had a very good experience at miapera, the staff was very polite and willing to help at all times when required , yesil ve, savas bey and hassan Oz were the best staff at miapera always helpful and always smiling excellent service from the staff, cleaners were upto the standard, housekeeping staff were very good and made my room when required. Not forget yollah from receptionist was very helpful and always had a smille too not least but last mehmet korkmaz was very helpful whenever i wanted chail or coffee he was there to help. I would highly recommend the hotel and would come back again. Burcu was kind and helpfull too

Lovely hotel but poor check in
The hotel is well located siper comfortable mattress and bedding. I enjoyed the sauna and the pool My check in was long and tedious with a young member of staff at the desk who seemed very distracted by a woman who arrived and took his total attention, although he had been aytending to me. No apology.
I like the location and transportation also staff they were nice and front desk also
Stayed here 2 days and always had to ask the front desk personnel to open my hotel room door everytime I needed back into my room. This was not ideal
Facilities inside the room were old, room was small with restricted view, no welcome from stuff, they look like robot, no appreciation even if you tip them generously, reception lady wasn’t friendly at all , breakfast buffet was terrible, cereal were too old never recommend this hotel to any one
I think they need better management.
Everything was great, easy access to the shopping center and restaurants, transportation, bring, there were good facilities in the hotel
All amenities, including restaurant after 11am, were out of operation, and it smelled of sewage in the restaurant and elevator area. Staff was extraordinarily helpful and considerate.
I found all the staff to be excellent, friendly, helpful and willing to make your stay pleasurable. The chefs were great and fun. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you all for making my experience of Istanbul better than I could dream of.
This is a great hotel in a perfect location, the staff go above and beyond to help . I will return . Paul
The
The location is excellent. 5 minute walk to Taksim. Very clean property and very well managed. The staff is friendly and speaks English. You can order coffee and some snacks in the room but step out for food which is perfectly fine with us..
The room was extremely hot and I Could not control the temperature in the room. I asked the front desk guy for a fan and he basically laughed at me and said he could do nothing. I paid 85 usd for a room and it to hot to sleep in and the staff refuse to provide a fan or alternative room where all windows open. Definitely would not stay in again
Worst hotel in Tamsin
The location is good however everything else was horrible. No AC, horrible staff, they wouldn’t even give us water. Rooms are tight. We were there for 2 weeks and they only cleaned our room 3 times; they did a horrible job at cleaning. One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at
Small and dirty room ac not working bad customer service no housekeeping I don't recommend it
Don’t spend your money in this place
They don’t have a wifi!!! Just in lobby, we asked for clean Towel It’s takes 1 hours and after 4-5 times calling!!! Services is very week not worth at all!
This tourist class hotel in the Taksim / Beyoğlu neighborhood is in an excellent location in the heart of the action. The Miapera is just a block off Istiklal Caddesi, Istanbul’s most bustling pedestrian street. There are tens of thousands of people out and about every evening until after midnight. It's great for young people and families. The street is full of bars, stores, charming restaurants and fast food joints. Though steps from the action, it’s removed enough as to not be too noisy. Just about 200 meters from the Sishane Metro station, a car is totally unnecessary. You can get just about anywhere on foot or on the Metro. The hotel received a stylish makeover within the last decade but, like most new stuff, things are starting to wear out. For instance, my room safe was broken, the sink stopper was loose and the door handle came off in my hand. At the end the day, it didn’t really matter. I didn’t spend much time in the room. The staff was nice, even friendly. I had moved from a nicer hotel in a quieter area and I’m glad I did. The breakfast was good, the place was clean, and it’s so nice to be able to get a good night’s sleep and still be able to step out the door and be in the heart of the fun.
I like the location a lot but when I got to my room it wasn’t clean enough trash can in bathroom was full of trash from previous customers the bathrooms wasn’t that clean at all also I have found half bottle of water on table also from previous customer I didn’t like this hotel just because they can’t keep up with basic cleaning.
It is in a perfect location,The staff was really helpful and cordial, and the room was quite spacious. What I did not like was that the surroundings was a bit noisy.
The one night we stayed, There was no water and no technician on site. And the reaction of the staff was as if this is not a problem and happened often.
The room was not the one we purchased, luxury with 3 bed. The first night we had a small 2 twin bed! Second night 1 queen bed and a sofa bed ! The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The pool and the spa wasn’t available. Only one person at the desk was kind (Ian) .
The hotel Is situated in heart of the taksim tourist area . Everything was walking distance from the hotel . The room I stayed in was ok but is small with double bed . Not Similar what shows in the picture.night staff was very helpful . Swimming pool sauna wasn’t working , So they have sent us another hotel about 20 minute walking distance to use the swimming pool and sauna which is not a great experience . Room cleaning service was ok .
Experience not be repeated
Overall a nice hotel
Hotel very good friendly staff but do not take a room overlooking the street very noisy especially weekends from opposite pubs
Very clean and great location and the staff was so friendly and helpfull
everything is great, the location , the staff, early check in helpful
Guzel
çok temiz ve konforlu bir konaklamaydı
It was close to downtown and subway.
Xxx
Great room when booking the deluxe room
Great rooms for the price we paid. Extremely helpful staff. Modern rooms when booking the deluxe rooms and very spacious.
Ac was not working the whole time. I was not offered a refund or discount. I believe it wasnt working when i checked in. I should have been emailed so i could cancel or advised when checking in.
Great place to stay. Nicely located! Rooms are big and sunny. Staff are super friendly and helpful. We mainly dealt with Ayoub who at the end saved us from missing our flight! Thank you for everything we will comeback again.
Not good at all
The Staff are amazing and the location is exceptional
Excellent hotel at a good location
This hotel and its staff are amazing. Very helpful. They made us feel at home. Answered all our questions. Good pool and jacuzzi sauna. Excellent breakfast. Room met our expectations. Will stay there again.
Nice bed, free gym is good - especially as it seems only i was using it, staff very pleasant, only complaint would be that they charged about $50 to launder two t shirts and some socks and undies - could have bought new everything for that price !
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Will stay again
Nice hotel, but extremely slow lift.
Nice, clean, comfortable rooms. Mind you in case you are going with a friend, not your partner, that shower has glass wall, not very transparent but still wouldn't be my choice with a friend!
Gem near istiklal
This hotel is absolutely wonderful! We had a great stay. Very reasonably priced, and perfect walking distance to istiklal. It was on a quiet street. The rooms are on the small side, but we didn't mind because the bed was comfortable and we were out exploring most of the day anyway.
Good place excellent staff
Except location and staffs the rest was very poor never going back ☹️
Barcelo
We didn’t actually stay at that hotel, but management transferred us to another location , Barcelo Istanbul hotel which was perfect .
Occidental Pera is in a great location being close to some of the main areas of cultural interest around Galata, Pera and Taksim, plus all of the shopping, restaurants, bars and nightlife of these central zones of Istanbul. The street that the hotel is on is quiet but only 2 minutes from all the bustle of Taksim and Istiklal Street. The rooms are clean and adequate in size with decent bathrooms. The staff are warm and friendly and extend a true Turkish welcome to all their guests.
One time only
In a nutshell, I wont be staying here again. The main manager/receptionist was not super friendly and was rude when I had asked for an early check in. He didn't oblige. The room itself is modern and clean but there were ants next to the floor of my bed. The housekeeping came and vaccuumed them up but they reappeared the next day. I'm not sure how that happens on the 7th floor. The pool is rather unimpressive and they insist on you wearing a head cap - which they'll sell to you for a ridiculous 30 lira. Whilst in the pool, a man slipped and fell on his face really hard on their tiled surfaces. I ran to get help and asked them to bring someone who knew first aid. Apparently there's no one at the hotel who has this skill which is quite worrying.
Love Istanbul
Six of us stayed no complaints, really friendly staff , great value , breakfast great for the price highly recommend this hotel
Great location, service and comfort
The location is great. It's just over a block to Istiklal, so lots of places to go nearby but not noisy. The staff was great, especially Fattah at the front desk who really went out of his way to help us on several occasions. We had a beautiful view of the British Comsulate and it's lovely garden from our room. There is a beautiful indoor swimming pool and hot tub downstairs. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only bad thing was the smell in most of the hotel, which I am told is a neighborhood problem that is worse in certain weather but is being worked on. Our windows opened in our room so we had no smell there.
What made the stay was the amazing customer service in general but in particular the way Ebru went out of her way to be helpful, incredible! The room temperature was a little too cold even with the air conditioning switched off but overall the hotel is lovely.
The staff is always ready to help and friendly. The location is excellent. The facility is very good. Spa and turkish bath are brilliant. Thank you for your hospitality
Great customer service and very confortable rooms. The location of the hotel is another plus. .
Great hotel with good customers service and excellent location.....
Terrible room next to the big air conditioning unit ( very noisy) and a huge pillar through the room. Horrible cheap floor.
Unbelievably bad
With no exaggeration, the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. For the below reasons: The whole hotel’s airconditioning system was down and the room was getting warm and uncomfortable. The room service was bad, one day towels were forgotten to be changed, the other day no bottles of water, the other day they had left their cleaning gear in the room, and overall cleanness was bad. And the worst experience was when the staff suddenly got into my room, without my permission , without knocking on the door, while I was undressed and made me too shocked and scared.
The staff was very helpful & accommodating. They helped us to get into the lounge on the roof, and a lot of questions we had during our stay, and gave us some good suggestions. Would definitely recommend staying here if it's within your budget. The location is pretty good as well if you don't mind a 10 min walk to the metro station. The shower had a waterfall shower which is a little tricky to figure out (pull the knob out and hold it then turn on the water).
Nice place, but could be better
Good location, nice rooms, clear beds but poor breakfast, especially for Istanbul, recommended to take w/o breakfast abd find any at nearest area
Nice hôtel , friendly staff
Nice hotel but a bit dated
The decor in the hotel is midcentury and chic. It is, however, a little dated. We were upgraded to a duplex suite which was fantastic ... but the air conditioning downstairs didn’t work and the air conditioning upstairs by the bed was really loud. Bed was comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was a luxury. Breakfast was okay. Bar upstairs is really cool. Great location.
very bad no air condotion thn location is good breakfast normal
the smell of the hotel is sewerage all the time; in the lobe that couldn't be tolerant, and we preferred to stay outside the hotel most of the time. the room is so small and not clean at all.
We booked this hotel last minute after being let down by another hotel we had booked. We were not disappointed. Lovely staff and great location ! Accommodation is very clean and our stay was so comfortable . We had a great stay and will definitely return to this hotel.
wonderful hotel and location!!
staff was very helpful and courteous. Provided adaptor and packing material when needed.
Great One
Well, it was a great one. Room was fine, staff was helpful and friendly. Great SPA area. Only thing I found is that poor selection of tv channels.
Prime location, super helpful staff
Prime location, super helpful staff. Prime location, super helpful staff. Prime location, super helpful staff
Nice location for a good price
I highly recommend this hotel it's very nice stuff very helpful and friendly the only thing that I don't like about it they don't have 24 hours room service only in the day time and Limited menu they have gym from 9 AM till 10 PM
Good location and friendly staff
Memorable, comfortable and friendly The rooms are tasteful and functional The location is well appointed and the staff offer friendly and professional service The hotel offers a personalised touch which is lacking in big hotel chains I would recommend this hotel to friends and family without reservation
Nice location
I highly recommend this hotel definitely I'm going to stay in it next time
very warm and helpful staff, family like hospitality
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. I will absolutely stay here or at any othe Room Mate hotel again.
it was great! staffs were very helpful! highly recommended!
Great value for money
Really enjoyed this hotel, which is in a pretty decent location, the rooms are fitted out nicely and are extremely comfortable. There appeared to be ongoing air conditioning problems, however it wasn't a major problem for this time of year. Would stay here again.
Very good price to performance ratio in a perfect location. Comfort rooms.
A good one
Quiet location at the same time close to business centre. A little bit hot in the room, even though my stay took place in a cool Autumn.
Great location and really nice hotel.
I am a fan of the Room Mate hotels. Great accommodation and location with a personal touch. I would choose this cozy boutique hotel over large chains any day.
Good Value Good Location
Short 3 day visit to Istanbul before heading to Bodrum. Great location, proximity to Taxim square and VERY energetic heading into the weekend. If you're looking for peace and quiet be careful which side of the hotel you stay on. I was woken by late evening techno from the nearby clubs. The rooms had an odd shape but most likely because of retrofitting existing architecture. Solid value for what it is.
Nice hotel.
I liked that it was quiet whilst in hectic center. Helpful staff! Disappointed that rooftop was closed (second time this happened with a roommate hotel) i booked the hotel for the outdoor space ! Take room overlooking UK consulate gardens.
nice hotel
staffs are great ,very comfortable room, positive atmosphere, good location, easy access , very good services, nice and cool bar . THNX GUYS
Good value!
Staff was extremely friendly and the hotel is in a wonderful location, just a block from Istiklal street. Only negatives: the room was clean but there were a few items that seemed to be trash left behind from the previous guest when we arrived. Also, the lighting in the rooms is extremely low so if you like a lot of light to see your outfits before going out, it is tough. We asked for extra lights but they were also very dim (makes you wonder if they are trying to hide something - like not so clean furniture??). Anyway overall we had a great experience. Our rooms (I traveled with my mom and a friend) had adjoining balconies on the second floor which was wonderful! We did not get to take advantage of the roof while we were there, sadly.
Great spot
Great spot, nice design, fun and lovely rooftop bar. Helpful staff helped me book some transportation when I couldn't read the Turkish website. My only complaint was that the pillows on the bed were too lofty.
You will not regret picking this one!
The staff is just AMAZING! Cagatay outdid himself to make us more comfortable and feel at home. Every hotel should have employees like him! Cheers!
Roommate Kerem made Istanbul feel like home!
If you like good quality and like good prices this hotel is for you! They're working towards star qualification and I think they deserve all 5! Beyond that, the hotel staff is exceptionally attentionate, whatever you ask they are always ready to attend your every need as strange as they may be! Keep our luggage for free while we visit other cities? Check! Want veggie juice that's not on the menu? Done! Need a last minute private guide to bargain for you at the gran bazar? No problem, one of the receptionist took us after his shift! Just ASK and you shall RECEIVE! As far as the rooms, the basic ones are on the small side so pay a little extra to get more space. Beds are comfy and rooms are kept clean. Breakfast is well presented, varied, super fresh and is served until noon for those who like to sleep in :) LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION: Roommate Kerem is perfectly located: small quiet street 1 min from Istiklal, the fish market street and so much more! Thanks guys for making our stay absolutely memorable, we fell in love with Istanbul and you are a big part of the equation!
Loved this hotel great location, fantastic views from hotel room
good location hype
Good location, friendly staff. Could be noisy at night if you are in room close to the top floor (terrace bar)
Great Staff,well designed hotel,Istanbul Sanctuary
Great staff and service, great breakfast, lovely pool and roof top to relax at. Loved the location right next to the main street and not too far of a walk to the tram or bridge that takes you to the touristy sights. Also have to mention the design of the main areas and the gorgeous bathroom! Our room 506 was quiet and we could even see the Bosphorus. The staff gave us a cake for my husbands birthday and even leant us a metro card, they couldnt have been more friendly or helpful! The only thing that could have improved our stay was softer pillows and colder aircon but these are very small issues and I would highly recommend a stay at Room Mate Kerem
Great hotel in best part of Istanbul
one day after cruise and couldn't be happier with the hotel
Rad little city hotel.
staff were absolutely fantastic. Very cool, perfect location to explore from. Would recommend to anyone.
