Smart price for very good apartment
We visited Athens for 2 days/nights. Meni Apartments Hotel has very good location: Metro station just within 2 min walk and City Tour Red Bus is 2 min too. We were 5 people in spacious and very clean two rooms apartment. Thanks a lot for comfortable accomodation!
See lots homeless people on the street.
We got better than what we pay.
It was a spacious and well maintained apartment that fit our needs and then some. We are thinking about staying here again if we find ourselves in Athens.
The front desk are brilliant and accommodating. The walk around the area, to the north east is to be avoided but the walk to the metro takes 1 min and is completely safe. Shop right opposite, popular coffee place and bakery. But the best thing is the people staffing the place. And I think that’s the most important.
The apartment is spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen. We were given 2 keys and 1 electronic card key. The 2 keys unlocks the outer door and the apartment door. But what we didn't know was we needed the electronic card key to lock our apartment door. Our electronic card key wasn't working. It took us awhile to realize we didn't actually lock the car. Once we realize the problem, we brought the keys to front desk and they addressed it quickly. The area is nosy. I'd advise wearing ear plugs at night. The area is transitioning. While we felt safe walking around during day time, and nothing bad happened, we didn't feel comfortable exploring the area with 2 young children. We chose this hotel because it's close to a subway station, also very close to the Athens train station which we took to get to Kalambaka for a day trip.
property was renovated and looks ok. Neighborhood, is dirty ....Liked the proximity to the metro station. This is important! Kitchen can be better equipped and a shampoo one dose is a must!!...small things to please when you arrive.
staff are friendly and helpful. Location near to the metro station.
Highly recommend!
We loved the apartment. It was clean and well stocked with everything we would need for the few days we stayed in Athens. The AC was excellent (and much needed as it was blistering hot in Athens in late August), the beds were SO comfortable, and the staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The neighborhood isn't ideal, mainly because there aren't any street lights and the sidewalks are pretty rough, meaning you really can't comfortably stroll through the area at night. There are plenty of mini-supermarkets in the area, a laundromat across the street, and the Metro right around the corner. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Meni apartments
Staff very accommodating and friendly and close to public transportation
The apartment was great for our family of five and we were able to walk everywhere to see the sights of Athens and also to visit Monastiraki and Plaka. It was also just a couple of minutes from the Metro station.
Our apartment was very clean and was perfect location> Receptionist were very friendly and lovely.
They don't clean the room every day ...............
Very clean, two bedrooms, modern bathroom, and a kitchen with a mini fridge, stocked with dishes, glasses, pans and silverware. Housekeeping is outsourced and cleaned 3 times from Saturday to Friday. It is located in the city center and about a 30 minute walk to the Acropolis. Two mini marts are two blocks away. Also, The Bread Factory is 2 blocks away (excellent bread and pastries). The only issue we experienced was the first night we arrived. The owner said Expedia didn't charge enough and that we owed $200 for the week in addition to what we paid. We argued this and attempted to call Expedia. The owner said not to worry about it and we didn't pay anything extra.
Large Apartment
This 2 bedroom apt was large and close to the metro. The service at the desk was excellent.
Noisy outside with not so desirable folks. Apartment was super clean and spacious. Location close to Metro.
This hotel is not in the best neighborhood, but its only 10-15 min walk to the touristy areas. Staff smokes in the lobby. The staff were friendly at first but then we discovered three different windows in our first floor apartment did not lock - and one bedroom window had a LADDER up to it! We had to ask them to come fix them three different times. They were not so friendly after that, but at least our windows locked. The apartment itself was fine, but construction across the street was loud all through the night and our bathroom light stopped working on day 3. They also claim to clean the room EVERY DAY and change the sheets every two... No cleaning for us on second day and when we asked, the receptionist offered no surprise or explanation. When a maid did come, she didn't even change our sheets OR TOWELS after 2 nights!! It has potential but it is not run professionally. Would not stay here again.
Live like a local
We were first surprised by the lack of common space for two couples in an apartment. The photos show a sofa sleeper in the living room, however we had a single chair(a pull out) a tiny table and two chairs. The kitchen was fully equipped, however we didn't do any cooking. The bedrooms were large, and both had air conditioning. One bedroom had a wardrobe with only two hangers, the other had no closet, wardrobe or drawers to unpack anything. The beds were firm, but okay. Both rooms had a flat screen TV, where we could only get one channel. That's okay - we were not there to watch TV. The local area had restaurants. We especially loved the Bread Factory, where we had breakfast every day. Right from there, we could get on the Hop On/ Hop Off Bus or catch a cab anywhere. The bread factory was a short 3 blocks away. We found that a cab ride from the hotel to the tourist areas should cost about 7 Euro - negotiate before you get into the cab! Most drivers asked for double that to begin with. We were close to the subway - but never used it since 4 of us in a cab actually cost less. There is a food market just across the street, and a drop off laundry. We were charged 10Euro for each small load, I think they overcharged us since we came in right at closing time. The check in was smooth, the staff helpful. We were given fresh towels each day. For the money, we felt happy with our choice. We wanted to feel more like we were "locals" rather than at any chain hotel anywhere.
Value for Money
It was amazing stay. We will return soon :)
Smoking in the lobby by some of the staff, good location but not the best neighborhood
We rented a two bedroom apartment, which works well for our family. The rooms are nice and clean and having a kitchen and living room is really convenient. The only downside is that the location is not ideal. It is in a neighborhood that looks run down and it takes about half an hour work to the city center.
Wonderful stay!!!
Absolute amazing service we really enjoyed the owner and staff. Location right next to metro, and rooms are well kept with AC and lots of space. Will absolutly book again
Comfortable stay in a central location
We just left Athens after a wonderful 3 days of stay. The staff was very helpful. Due to this hotel’s central location, we could walk to the Metro, several eating places and a stop for tour busses. Especially, Mariangela was prompt in responding to the messages before our visit, and kept our luggage safe on the last day, while we went for a walk around. Julia gave us helpful suggestions on Metro routes and arranged taxis for pickup. Overall, I recommend this place for a traveler with family and will stay here again.
There was a lot of poor communication. I mistakenly booked two rooms for two nights and told them on several occasions but they did nothing about it. I asked for a credit and they told me to go through you. I requested a taxi from the airport but gave them the wrong flight number. They tried to reach me but my phone was not working in the airport. I ended up taking another taxi, but they made me pay for their taxi. They offered breakfast but I had to pay for it and it had to be after 8:30. Overall bad experience with staff but comfortable rooms. I am requesting a credit for one room for 7/17. Please advise.
Great stay all around
Meni Apartments was the perfect and most welcoming beginning to our first trip abroad (me, my 2 teenage daughters and their friend). Our experience began with the taxi ride to the hotel. The driver was the hotel owners son. The hotel clerks were very nice and accommodating. They also spoke English. The room was very tidy. We had 2 bedrooms, a small common area and a kitchen with all appliances. The hotel is very close to all conveniences.....ATM, laundry, cafes, restaurants, tavernas, Super market and mini marts. The Metro was also close, very easy to navigate and had been updated for the 2004 olympics so very modern and clean. We had a wonderful experience mixing with the locals. We will definitely stay here if we ever get the opportunity to visit Athens again. Thank you Maria Angela, Julia and others that made us feel so welcome and at ease on our first trip abroad!
Excellent condition
Meni Apartments is well located, George was very helpful giving us information about the area. Very modern and well kept. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
For the price and location, this is a great apartment for visiting Athens. There's a bakery shop nearby and that was great for breakfast. The apartment was not cleaned very well--there were hairs on the floor when we moved in. One bed was tilted toward the center and there were also some mosquitoes in the room. The bedding could be better. Also they kept asking us about checking out and taxi reservation that were a bit annoying.
Meni Apartment Hotel reveiw
We really enjoyed our stay! The location is really convenient, the apartment was very clean and accommodating and the staff was great! The elevator, transportation, and air conditioning were great benefits! I would definitely return if I am back in Athens Andre would highly recommend the apartment!
Large suite with two bedrooms in Metaxourgeio
Meni Apartments on 8 Psaron is actually close to an entrance of Metaxourgeio Metro station which even has lifts for your luggage first to the station gates, then onto the train platform. Alas when we first arrived, it took us sometime to orientate to our surroundings, so we were a little lost. The lift was very tiny and could only take one luggage at a time. Reception was English-speaking, and helpful where they could be, although they do not operate 24h, and provide a key to the premises after midnight. Only 1 soap and shower gel were provided for 2 days, and we kept forgetting to ask for more. Rooms are not made up daily. They were helpful in extending our stay for half a day, although I had to use cash as they would charge extra for using credit card.
Great apartment close to Metro
Very nice hotel with fabulous person at front desk (Maria Angela, we think). She was warm and welcoming and always helpful, e.g. attractions. The hotel is very handy (few minutes) to Metro station, and some great restaurants. Nice kichenette. Only one strange thing - we booked a two bedroom apartment but at one point the manager wanted one of them locked off.
Great location in Athens that we would recommend !
Staff is amazing!!! We really enjoyed our stay in Athens.
Very frightening place.
Too many people next door. Drunk crowd one night with people pounding on our door at 1 am. Staff too scared to call the police
Very big apartment very clean with nice staff
The apartment in quit street near the metro station. The rooms are very big with beautiful kitchen. Every thing is new in a very good condition. The staff very nice and helpful. Nice breakfast.
Excellent Stay
We stayed here for three nights, but wished we could have stayed longer. The apartment is roomy, comfortable and equipped with everything you would need. The kitchen has an electric kettle, mini fridge, cook top and microwave as well as dishes and cookware. It is close to a movie theater and there is some noise early in the evening, but it goes away around midnight. The bathroom is excellent and the elevator is tiny, but adequate. The apartment is within a block of the hop on hop off bus stop, metro station and a bakery. Across the street is a laundry and a supermarket is about three or four blocks away. The area is working class and we did not feel uncomfortable at all. Some of the reviews that I read said they felt uncomfortable walking at night, but we did not experience this. The staff was wonderful and I would defiantly return and would recommend it to anyone.
Spacious Apartment, coke to all amenities,
Very spacious, modern fully equiped apartment, close to train . Supermarket, gymnasium. Very clean,
Very good for family vocation
Convenient and clean. Good for family vocation
Will recomend it to my friends
we stayed in this hotel twice recently. We love it.
Everything is right
I am always fussy about cleanliness but this hotel was just right for me. Their cleanliness made me feel so comfortable. Normally Japanese people have very high expectations about cleanliness but I can say all of Japanese tourists would be very happy with this hotel.
Confortable and well located
Meni Apartments is well located in Athens, one block away from Karaizaski square(Metalxorghio Metro Station). There are several restaurants and mini markets around, as well as one 24 hour bakery. The apartment was renewed, being clean and confortable. The staff was very polite and helpfull.
Comfortable apartment in great location
Spent 4 nights here in late December - a great time of year to go, not too crowded, not hot ,not cold. Were able to get about the city very easily as the Metro is so close. Our (2-bedroom) apartment was very comfortable, though the hallway - just inside the front door - is effectively the lounge. The elevator is quirky and shiny and tiny (about the size of a shower cubicle) but worked perfectly. Would happily return there
Neighborhood apartment near public transportation
The booking and payment experience were efficient - no surprises. The description and pictures are accurate. The ability to communicate with the hotel directly through the app was helpful regarding laundry options. The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful with information, providing, directions to the Metro (one block away - Metaxourgeio Station, Red Line Number 2), the grocery store, (MyMarket is about 3 blocks away many MiniMarkets also), the laundry (across the street), the fresh bread stores (there are several), the local street market, etc. Neighborhood was welcoming. WiFi was strong and reliable. The elevator, while on the smallish side - did work efficiently,. Balcony welcome. The staff honored our request for a "green" experience - minimizing linen changes, Clean lobby and rooms. From this location - after obtaining multi-day transportation passes, we were able to explore Athens on our own - going to the Acropolis and Museum, the Zoo, the coastline, etc. We rode the Metro, the buses, and the trams. The staff at the hotel added additional details as needed. We had the smaller 2 bedroom apartment and used the "living room" as our dining room. The kitchen was adequately supplied (no oven), enabling us to cook our own meals or heat the take-out. Bathroom was clean, fully functioning with plenty of hot water. Negative was the tobacco smoke coming up through the shaft in the bathroom. Closing the balcony door minimized street noise.
Quality apt close to everything
Very nice apt close to the best sites in Athens. Was not informed about the deposit they charged which is still pending - it through off my finances.
clean and nice place to stay..
especially staff are so kind and good ..if you would like to stay short period it can be good chose to stay there.
A great place to stay in Athens
Great place to stay. Excellent service. Comfortable and clean.
I have comfort a 3 as the mattress of the double bed needed to be replaced, but the other rooms were fine. Otherwise was a nice place close to the metro with easy access to all the sites. Staff was very helpful.
Wonderful staff
Staff was wonderful. Rooms were clean and efficient. I especially enjoyed the kitchen and mini fridge. The bathroom was small, but nothing out of the ordinary. I wish there was more bedding, but the beds were more comfortable than they initially looked. Great for friend groups or families, and take advantage of the very helpful reception desk. They are like concierge service at an otherwise basic facility.
generally good experience. close to metro station. there is a mini market in the opposite
The staff was very helpful. We had a great apartment. The location was very central close to the acropolis
DIFFERENT RATE WHEN WE ARRIVED
We are a couple with 3 kids, ages 12,12 and 13 who stayed 3 nights. When we booked our apartment it stated that accommodates 5 so we booked it but forgot to put 5 persons in the reservation. When we arrived at tge hotel we were charged extra 204 Euros for not putting in 5 persons in the reservation. It is good to know that the exact same apartment differs greatly in price if you forget to put the accurate amount of people staying - even if the apartment is advertised that it accommodatea 5 persons. Apparently you are not renting the entirw apartment for the advertised accommodations and price - you are renting the apartment at a specific rate PER PERSON!
We put things in the safe in the room on the last day the safe was not opened and they forced us to pay a safe breaker they didn't take responsibility
