Beautiful 2 bedroom villa with private pool. Excellent staff and the most perfect vacation

While the resort was in a remote area of the island it is an ideal place to spend a couple of days to spend a restful vacation. The staff was very friendly and helpful in any way. More than similar resorts of hotels in other parts of the world.

Lovely eco friendly type of hotel. Feels like you are in a rain forest minus the rain.

The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. It felt personal and that they were very happy to have us to stay.

Could do with an upgrade

This resort was quiet, beautiful and the staff were as helpful as they could be, since their English wasn’t always the best. My only complaint is the trash on the beach.

One who knows

We came to celebrate our honeymoon, the location of the hotel is in an area far from the center of Samui, but quiet and magical with a beach and an amazing view. The room was relatively large with very maximum equipment, in my opinion a good hotel and justifies the high score it received, there was one case of dirt on the bedding but the case was not substantial. Really enjoyed!! In conclusion: For those looking for a calm and peaceful place to spend their next vacation, the hotel definitely meets the needs

Very good hotel, especially for quiet holiday.

Isolated in the north easth corner, far from the busy beaches and villages, situated on private beautiful beach. Excellent service, reach and very good breakfast. The rooms are wide and big, the whole hotel is like a small village, beautiful gardens and swimming pools. It is not a new hotel, and it do need some maintenance, and a little more care around the main swimming pool.

Beautiful property! Excellent breakfast. We also enjoyed a delicious dinner, lunch, drinks... The staff is absolutely wonderful! May at the Spa is amazing. I highly recommend this property, and the spa is a must.

Far from any commerce like pharmacy or convenience stores.

Property was beautiful. The grounds and rooms are pristine and calming. The amenities are very limited. A pool table that is oversized and a table tennis table that is falling apart. The main pool closes at 7pm which is an inconvenient when you want to relax after day excursions. The drinks are overpriced and very weak (I could not tell the difference between a virgin and non). As much as we loved the property and rooms, I would say the experience is lacking for the price point.

Staff was very friendly, very warm and welcoming. Beautiful facility, pool was amazing, restaurant was delicious, esp the Thai one. Breakfast had a lot of options but same things every day, could have improved there a bit. It’s good for visitors who want to stay and enjoy the resort. Kids club was good, my 6 yr old enjoyed it a lot. If you are more of a party place person or family, you ll have to go to Chaweng-Choeng which is 400 bht one way. Hotel provides courtesy shuttle twice a day.

We had a wonderful stay at the Melati. The pool and beach were beautiful. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate us in every way!

The pool was fantastic and the view is mesmorizing...the staff was very polite and helpful...he only drawback is the breakfast buffet which didnt have alot of options...the location is also far from town

Beautiful property. Very helpful staff, my daughter and I hurt ourselves on a moped and they picked us up from our rooms anytime and took us around in a golf cart to wherever we needed to get to within the hotel.

Fantastic Samui Resort!

We’re still raving about our wonderful week @ Melati-everything was top notch…a huge well-appointed room, fantastic food & gigantic breakfast buffet, 2 great pools, clean & relaxing for couples & family fun alike. The Staff was the most friendly & accomodating we’ve met in Thailand, which is saying a lot. Bravo Team Melati! We highly highly recommend!

Wow! What a great place!! Staff were super helpful And friendly. The beach is amazing. The pools were incredible! The room exceeded expectations. I wish I could live here. This is the best place I have ever stayed and it was sooo affordable. Ten stars!!!

The pool and swim up bar are amazing. The Spa treatment was wonderful and family priced. There was a seafood bbq on fire show on when were there and it was spectacular!! The breakfast buffet and food at the restaurant were five stars and the staff were absolutely delightful. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend for couples as well as families.

An amazing hotel! We stayed here for three nights and can honestly say it was paradise. The hotel contacted us prior to staying to inform us of activites and transfers at the hotel. We were able to pre-arrange for the hotel to collect us from the pier, and also reserve spaces at the spa and for activities if we wanted too. We wanted to do a boat trip/snorkling which the hotel didn't directly offer but were able to arrange this with a third party on our behalf. From arriving we had a lovely welcome and were given a lift to our room. Some of the reviews state it is a long walk around the hotel but it's very spacious and means that you have privacy which we appreciated. The rooms themselves were stunning. We had one of the most basic rooms that the hotel offers but it had everything and more than we needed. The bathroom was huge, with walk in shower and then a bath outside. The tv channels were good and lots of choice in the room bar/snacks. The rooms were very clean and cleaned in the morning but also the option for them to prepare your room for the night in the evening also. Staff here were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was fantastic and lots of choice of food to choose from in buffet form, aswell as items on a menu. We had dinner at the view restaurant, and the view over the sea was stunning. We enjoyed the food there also, thai food as well as burgers, pizza salad etc. Cost of the food was what you would expect for a 5 star hotel on the beach. 5☆☆☆☆☆

This resort was beautiful and just what we needed to relax at the end of our Thailand trip. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They also decorated the bed for our anniversary and for my birthday which was really sweet.

Pool is nice

We travelled to the resort as a family of 4. The pool is very nice and clean with lots of kids playing in it. There is also an adults only pool nested in the middle of the resort. The beach front is however very small due to the location on the island. Because the resort is stretched inland, rather than along the beach ask for a room close to the beach front if this is where you intend to spend most of your time.

Horrible hotel experience!! The front desk staff was the rudest I’ve ever dealt with. They added ridiculous extra charges to my final bill and ended up charging my card TRIPLE the amount. There are fruit flies and ants in all of the rooms, the restaurant does not serve fresh food, you can obviously tell it’s all frozen and reheated. This is NOT a five star hotel.

A gem of a resort on a secluded beach.

Our family of four was immediately upgraded to a pool Villa upon arrival. The grounds are tranquil, well space, so you have no feeling of being in a large resort. The staff is courteous and friendly to a fault, and the restaurants on property survey good, if someone expensive range of food that will fill every pallet. The beach is small, but there’s only two other properties facing the ocean. As a result, you have a very intimate feeling rather than a big resort vibe. The property is part of a chain of two on the island, and benefits from not having a “corporate feel” about it. For us, for a short sprint of a vacation away from the traffic at Bangkok, it was ideal.

Nice resort set in a mini tropical jungle. 2 great pools. Nice food and a great breakfast location. Staff were amazing especially Best, Peach and Tub.

A Great Place to Stay

Overall, it was a great holiday and a nice place to stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the facilities were of a good standard. Having the family pool, bar/restaurant, and beach in close proximity provided a fun, convenient, and tranquil vibe. The food, on the whole, was good and was offered at a reasonable cost. The villa we stayed in was quite spacious, however, it didn't contain a full-length mirror which slightly irritated my wife. This is a minor thing, I realise, so I only mentioned it because it would very easy to rectify.

Sisters on holiday

It was low season, so we had attentive staff and they were all quite helpful and friendly. Buggy rides to get around was great, as I have some difficulty walking long distances. Room was very comfy and spacious. Restaurant food was outstanding! We did the cooking class at the hotel and loved The experience!!!! And the food! It was a great time!

Overall excellent, but avoid dancing show/buffet

Overall, staff were excellent and so was the food if a bit expensive. However on our last night there was a special buffet with live Thai dancing a boxing. Hors d'oeuvres were good but the rest of the buffet was terrible and it was not worth the 1,290 Baht per person we paid. Another problem was the bedroom which was very poorly lit.

The beach is immaculate as well as the infinity pool. Most of the wait staff are very friendly and attentive - including but not limited to Peach, Mint, Tup, and Dream.

We have stayed here twice and looking forward to the third. Staff are wonderful, nothing is a problem. 2 outstanding restaurants which includes an outstanding Thai restaurant and rooms are to die for. Superb buffet breakfast, two pools and if not enough, a private beach. The resort has a award winning spa catering to beauty treatments and massages.

Loved our stay at Melati. We had a garden pool villa and wAs fantastic. Very private and beautifuly furnished. Bit of a walk to the pool as we were right near reception. Staff were fantastic especially Best, Great gardens but pool bar needs a definite upgrade as looking quite tired and run down. Food fantastic. Location was a bit remote and although the resort offers free shuttle buses into Chaweng the times are not suitable. Need to add on more free shuttles and also ones to fisherman’s village. Overall great relaxing holiday.

Beautiful resort with lovely staff. Waking up to a gorgeous view every morning was the highlight of our day. The resort had lots of things to do for guests and it’s own private beach. Couldn’t fault this resort at all.

Paradise on Earth

The location and property is outstanding. We finally found our paradise. The grounds, beach, recreation and dining areas beautiful. The trees, chirping birds, streams, water falls and meandering pathways made it feel like we were in a heavenly retreat. The staff was over the top friendly and accommodating and food was delicious, with ample selections. The villas could use some updating, as older closets and lighting systems were somewhat awkward to operate. We had a private pool villa, which we loved and used often.

Good hotel with well maintained facility, friendly staff, and good location near to beach. Restaurant was good as well.

This is a very comfortable hotel with large room choices. The pool has a great view of the ocean with a bar centrally located. The breakfast buffet has many choices of good quality food. The hotel was very accommodating in providing a driver to take us to local Fisherman’s market (must see). There is a shuttle to Chaweng main shopping area. Central Festival plaza recommended for shopping. Overall can’t fault this hotel. If you don’t want to stay in the busy city area this place is set in lush garden setting.

The staff are lovely. Location okay. Resort facilities average. Food and drink expensive. But our biggest issue is that we we had to be moved rooms three times... First time we were in a room with elephants above, second time the party animals kicked off at 2am in the morning... Third time lucky!

Honeymoon trip

A truly amazing place! From the spacious suite to the best service we’ve had! All brilliant. Best and the bar team have to get a special mention, service at its best! Nothing was too much trouble and we were so sorry to leave!

Nice for a short stay.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel seemed to be a bit over priced for what it had to offer otherwise. The breakfast was not as good as other similar hotels across Thailand, but still good.

Really nice hotel.. particularly good as away from the main hussle and bussle of town but only a 15 min taxi journey away. Rooms very big and lovely touch in the evening when they light scented oil in the room and leave little sweets for you when they do bedside turn down service.. pool a fair walk from some rooms but they will pick you up and take you in a golf like buggy if you ask. pool was big and all round great service from staff.. food at restaurants great, buffets a little bit expensive but if you order off menu it’s not so much. I would highly definitely recommend this hotel..

MUST VISIT

Absolutely amazing. From the moment we got out of the shuttle bus and arrived in the reception area we could not have asked for anything better. All staff were awesome, very friendly, kind and bent over backwards for us. We arrived for our honeymoon and it didnt disappoint. Check in was painless and quick, with everthing explained to us. We were walked to our Villa where we were greeted by a bottle of bubbles on ice and rose petals in the shape of a heat on the bed. The room was huge, very clean with a garden pool and outdoor area for meals / relaxing. The main pool was an oasis, looking out across the ocean with a view of Koh Pha-ngan. The lads around the pool, Baw & Tak were two of the funniest & cheeky guys we met, they made our stay a memorable one. We booked in for the traditional Thai banquet which included Thai dancing and a Thai Boxing exhibition. Great night along with beautiful food. The hotel offers a half day tour that we took advantage of and our guide, Paech was extremely knowledgable and informative as he took us around to the the big Buddha, Fisherman Market and local temples. Breakfast had a great variety and the fire show in the evening was a must to see. The head Chef holds a cooking class which we went along to where we had the opportunity to cook four (4) dishes and be guided by the talented Chef Ken. I would highly recommend doing this to all guests for the culinery experience. The Melati is a must for all visitors travelling to Koh Samui, easily 10/10

Excellent staff and facilities for a relaxing resort style getaway.

The resort was beautiful as was the beach. The pool staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful! The front desk staff we’re also helpful but not nearly as friendly. The rooms were very nice however, we had a couple issues with ours. The power went out twice and on the last night there was a leak in the room due to the storm which wet our luggage. The pool and beach are beautiful however, the beach was ‘closed’ majority of the time due to jellyfish. Guests were whale to swim if they wanted by were recommended against it. Overall, awesome stay!!!

Beautiful hotel, great staff, just perfect. The hotel is very isolated which Was ideal for a relaxing break and we loved everything about it. It was very cheap to hire a moped and get around Samui which suited us, we had the luxury of the hotel but could go out exploring. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back soon.

Fantastic all in one hotel

Great place to stay and relax, prime position on the beach with very friendly staff. The rooms are really well maintained very clean with well operating fixtures. They provide activities throughout the day so if you wanted a little more to occupy yourself with you have the option. Breakfast is fantastic in the morning and if you get the opportunity the BBQ dinner night is an unbeatable experience. We had some other beach dinners on our stay at Koh Samui but nothing could compare.

Gorgeous place to stay to unwind and relax

This was our second visit to Melati beach. We recommend it to everybody as it is such a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The chef makes the best poached eggs we have ever had and remembered how we ate them after our first order. They were ready everyday as we arrived for breakfast! Amazing! The spa is gorgeous- very well trained staff and a perfect environment. Definitely looking to return again!

Great for families, just watch the weather

Great service, nice beautiful private beach. Kids club wasn't great but does its job. Free kayak is great. Location a bit secluded, could be good depending on what you prefer.

Perfect

Wonderful resort, set in a tropical botanical garden. Great food, happy hour drinks,very friendly helpful staff. The only problem, if you could call it that, is if you want to for a walk away from the resort, it's not really practical, you have to get a taxi just about anywhere that you'd like to go.They do offer a bus service to their sister resort at Chaweng, but really thats the last place on the island that you would want to go. A wonderful five star resort, that I'd highly recommend.

Stayed 8 days at Melati resort. The resort is peaceful and relaxing. Staff was good and helpful. Food at the resort was very average especially breakfast buffet was extremely disappointing. Very little choice. Overall rating 7/10

A Hidden Gem

We fell in love with this place and can’t wait to go back someday. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. The pool and restaurant are located right beside a beautiful beach that faces the island of Koh Phangan—stunning sunset views! Our room was very luxurious. The resort is simply beautiful and a highlight of our vacation time in Thailand.

Wonderful Hotel, Breathtaking Room, 5 Star Service

WOW! This hotel is absolutely stunning...tropical thai feel, 5 star amenities and service, this hotel cannot be beat! I loved every minute of my stay, felt so relaxed, had so many activities to do and the food was top notch. The hotel even helped plan my transportation as well as touring the islands nearby. I definitely recommend any and all to stay at this hotel as it was one of the best experiences I have had in my life.

Disappointing: overcharged for excursions

Main attraction of the hotel is the beach which is beautiful. I booked an excursion through the hotel to the marine park for 4600 BHT for 2 people. On our boat there were 19 other couples that had booked the identical trip at different hotels for only 3000 BHT per couple. On returning I asked the hotel manager why they charged 50% more for exactly the same trip but he had no good answer and wouldn't refund the difference. It's disappointing the hotel was willing to irritate its guests by so obviously overcharging guests for excursions organised by 3rd parties and then when caught out refusing to make it right.

Beautiful hotel but mix up from Expedia

After arriving at this stunning hotel , we were informed that our room we booked 3 months earlier was not available. Because we booked though expieda they didn’t have our email address to inform us earlier. We were very disappointed , but were compensated with free dinner every night of our stay . And upgraded to a family pool villa on our last night which was AMAZING.. thank you Leo for your amazing service & we hope to come back soon.

Certainly not 5 star

Very poor management.The staff were friendly & helpful. The Beach was dirty and not cleaned regularly enough. The Children's Club needs investment. The Spa was adequate. This hotel is not 5*

Fantastic hotel and atmosphere! Staff was very pleasant, breakfast was delicious, pool and sea view amazing!

Loved the hotel and the vibes, perfect for a retreat. It’s a 15 min drive to Chaweng which is the only downside. My only complaint is that the breakfast spread should be changed, it wasn’t that good or as much as other hotels and the shampoo is too drying.

Nice quiet location

Stayed for a family holiday. Villa was very big, with 2 separate rooms and huge bathroom and private outdoor pool. It was very close to the main pool and restaurant which made the stay very easy. The private beach had a red flag every day which meant not safe for swimming, but we swam on 2 of the days and it was perfect. When I asked the staff member why it was a red flag and the water was so calm, he said it’s because there’s seaweed in the water. The food was average, but expensive. Thai cuisine was better and much cheaper at the restaurant next door to the resort and also on the beach. The Thai food at the restaurant near reception was much better. The staff were generally friendly and helpful and treated the kids really well. The staff at reception didnt seem to care. We organised a private taxi for half day tour, and were told English speaking guide/driver. The guy didn’t speak a word of English, but we somehow managed to communicate and he turned out to be nice and friendly. But the hotel had not told him what our plans were for our trip. On the last day we were checking out, my daughter said there were ants all over he bed. I went to the room and sure enough there were ants everywhere. I took a photo to show reception as we were checking out. Her response kind of summed it up “I’ll let management know”. I understand it’s Thailand but to have on a bed is not right! Overall nice resort, good location, and relaxing

Go there ONLY if the weather is perfect

Go there ONLY if the weather is perfect... The positive - the beach restaurant had very good food. the rooms are very good, large and clean, great shower. The negative - If the weather is not perfect, (as we had, and we visited at the end of December that should be perfect - not the hotel to be blamed..) this was not the place for a stay with the kids - There is nothing really to do comfortably in the hotel - No beach, as the wind/waves covered it all. the pool was not usable due to the weather. "Kids club" - a small room with some games that is done after 1 or 2 H....GYM is small and out dated. SPA - the sauna is a separated area in a small villa that you need to pay for. Every trip to the fisherman's village or the other chawenge area take too mach time....

Incredible!

We flew in from Chiang Mai and it was a much needed relaxing and peaceful cap to the end of our travels in Thailand. The whole resort smells amazing! The jasmine oil in the diffusers made the place seem even that more luxurious. Staff was incredibly nice although the service could be somewhat slow at times. The menu had a wide variety which was nice to have after eating Thai street food for weeks, yet their traditional dishes were some of the best tasting we had on our travels across the country. My only complaint is that the pillows were very lumpy and hard for such a nice resort otherwise. The private beach, spa treatments, and happy hour made up for all of it though!

Beautiful place to relax

My husband and I came here for a 7 day holiday - I'd just booked everything when we found out I was pregnant - and the morning sickness was hitting hard! I ended up dreading coming on the holiday, but it turned out to be a beautiful way to relax and ride out another week of feeling off. The room was positioned perfectly between the main pool/restaurant and the lobby, and reception was a quick phone call away and were super prompt in sending a chauffeured buggy if I wasn't up to walking that day. The main pool was stunning, and the quality of the food I did manage to eat at the restaurant was just amazing. Happy hour by the pool for both drinks at the pool bar AND massages by the water were a great deal, but the one thing that impressed me the most was the staff. Not only did we witness some quick thinking by a staff member who jumped into the pool fully clothed to save a child who was drowning (happy ending!), we were made to feel welcome and at home by everyone we passed, even if it was simply the gardener doing some maintenance - everyone was always ready with a smile and happy to chat. 'Best' became our good friend by the pool side, he was just the nicest! Would highly recommend the pick up service from the airport too - nothing quite like walking out into steamy weather to be greeted by a smile, an air conditioned car and ice cold water!

Great in all areas

This hotel has class. It is nice and quiet, great size rooms, great facilities. You feel like you are walking into an experience when you arrive. They do they're best to make you feel special. Highly recommend.

Quite hotel away from it all

Nice hotel within a small bay and quiet. 2 pools and restaurants with a reasonable food choice. You'll need to travel a bit if you want to sight see or shop but the hotel reception are very helpful in arranging taxi transfers. Friendly staff and spacious rooms.

Wonderful hotel,great location

We have stayed in many hotels over the years, but have never experienced such professional and obliging staff, they made you feel totally welcome and at home. All the amenities were first class ,thoroughly recommend the Melati to anyone visiting Koh Samoi.
