Good
The front desk i think his name of Joseph was very helpful. The room was cleaned every day of my 3 day stay. All in all good central place
Not a luxury hotel or guest house as it was advertised to me. Rooms are small even we booked Deluxe room and still very small and we could barely move. The property needs a renovation because bathrooms and everything else in the room needs an upgrade because they are old and not great condition. Our room noisy we heard every conversation front desk made and phones etc.
Very friendly staff, welcoming very helpful, our TV remote wasn't working and was sorted within minutes also helped store our luggage before we had to go to airport all around a great place to stay will keep them in mind for future visits
The property was very cozy. The staff kept everything clean. There is construction in the area now../ despite that I am happy with my choice of this guesthouse. My only complaint would be that the bathtub faucet did not work (the shower worked fine). I would stay here again.
Staffs are very friendly and helpful.
I love hearing the Vatican church bells. The area has lots of restaurants, shops and groceries that are open late into the night. The staff is very helpful and attentive. Everything we need, mini fridge, coffeemaker, a cute tv, bathroom is actually bigger than expected. Would stay here again the future for sure
Great location not far at all from the Vatican. Other than the rooms a/c not blowing cold air, Rome is very hot need that a/c. That was the only con staff and location was great.
Room was way small. I get it it’s Europe but we had a checked bag and no where to store it. Also, of note this is not a regular hotel. More like a guest house. We got the ride they offered to the airport and it was fantastic!!! No train or cab—-get the car service!!!
Perfect location. Easy shopping and walking disitance to the vatucan.
Good value room close to many Roman sites. Metro close by too if needed. Lots of restaurants and found great little breakfast place two mins away. Would recommend for a rome stay.
The property is only 6 minute walk to vatican museum, very convenient. Room is clean and sufficient water, coffee & snacks. Staff are nice and helpful. Recommend if you have an early slot for the museum.
The staff were very helpful and polite room the room very clean tidy also it suit us it was 5 minutes
The property is old and dirty. It is falsely advertised and has unsafe features.
Great location
So amazing!! We loved our stay.
Great hotel.
A lovely stay they were very nice there converted appartments. If you like old lifts this is the place
This property is located easily to restaurants and shopping. Also, close walk to most tourist attractions such as the Vatican.
Very relaxing
Shower was crazy small
Everything was good
Needs better water pressure
Room was nice enough but overpriced. Shower took a long time to get warm (never got hit) and had terrible water pressure. Staff was friendly. Location was near restaurants and shops, so conveniently located.
Perfect
Wow. Loved this stay
Excellent hotel. Very warm welcome. Loved the decor and location. Will definitely return. Thank you
Midst of town center, we can walk to St Peter square, vetican museum, St basilica , shops are open late night and easy to walk around
This property is overrated, the rooms look good but the bathrooms are a NO NO, My 1st room the bathroom was horrible it smelled like you were inside a sewer, I opened the window but mosquitoes were coming in, the shower was super tiny, I am skinny and I could barely fit and the soap dispenser was broken. After three times telling the receptionist lady which was right next to my room’s door literally, she moved me to a different room. The 2nd room at first looked like I was in heaven compare to the first one but after I took the first shower and turned on the air conditioner everything changed, the bathroom has a very poor ventilation so the humidity stayed in the bathroom and room, even with a short shower you could see the water on the tiles and later on the water dripping from the tiles, there were mold on the ceiling and on some of the grout between the tiles, you could even smell the mold. The first night I turned on the A/C and went to sleep, the next day I woke up with a black dust all over the floor, the suitcases and the bed it was coming from the A/C vent. I told the front desk and they only cleaned it and every morning was the same dust but a little less. The humidity was so bad that after fixing my hair it was puffy in less than a minute. The good things are: it has a small fridge and they give you water everyday, they have Arnel he was amazing cleaning my room, close to the train, lots of restaurants around and you could walk to the Vatican. I wouldn’t stay again.
This property was too old, the bathroom was decent, closet was damaged and inside was dirty hungers not dusted off.and under the bed were plenty of dusk. No nobody around between 10pm till 10am. Hot water was unavailable last Thursday 11/29/23. No table to sit on. I highly don’t recommend this place. This is the worst Hotel ever I stayed on.
The man at check-in was so helpful. Room was very nice. Would definitely recommend it
Nice hotel ( kind of BB) room was to small, didn't look like the picture, but bathroom was decent and clean. Really close to St Peter square and Vatican, lots of dining options and transportation, metro is only a few steps away.
The location of the property is good, but the management of the property is terrible. We arrived at the property a bid late than we expected due to the long line at the airport to get a taxi. The manager left the office, there is no one to answer our repeated phone calls, and we were locked out and stranded on the street. We were lucky that the owner of the property was there and gave us keys, otherwise, we would have no there to stay that night.
Stayed in the honeymoon suite, room was a good size, enjoyed the hot tub and big round bed, only bad things were the shower leaked from the outside into the room and the shower head was coming apart needs replaced.
Unique style and features to the honeymoon suite made for a pleasant stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the guesthouse felt central and all of the major tourist attractions were within walking distance.
Great 3 night stay!
We had 3 night stay and had a good time overall. We weren't expecting the room to be so small, but the hotel did list the sq ft during the booking process. The bathroom was the only issue we had in terms of cleanliness; shower head had hard water scaling, the paint was chipping on the trims, and the bath jets had paint or discoloration that made it seem like it wasn't hygienic to use the bath. The biggest pro of this hotel was the location! We were a brief 10-15 minute walk from the Vatican and 2 minute walk to the metro station entrance. The metro ride was easy to get to the other side of the river (colosseum, trevi fountain, spanish steps area). We found that our hotel area was less busy and filled with tourists than the other side of the river, we preferred it! Advice for those checking in soon- the hotel gives you sets of keys to enter the building, for the "apartment" side your room is in, your room, and for the lights in the room. The building itself is a mix of the hotel and residential apartments, but it's clearly marked which is which so there should be no confusion.
es and public transportation. To access staff press call button at entrance for MDM. They will buzz you into the building.
Great stay, easy to get to all the main attractions with the Ottaviano metro station under a minute walk away.
Huge comfy bed, UK YouTube on TV, kettle, coffee machine, fridge stocked with free bottled water, air con, big windows opening onto street view, great bathroom, perfect location adjacent to Metro.
Super nice and very close walk to everything we barely took taxis to places except airport
It was great!! Great service very help staff and very clean!!
Very good place to stay in. The people assisting us was very helpful.
The atmosphere was nice, they didn't have prosecco, which was sad but it's okay, and overall it was pretty romantic
Room was good, a little bit smaller than expected. Bathroom was nice and spacious. Very close to the Vatican and bus stops. We had the room right next to reception and could hear people talking a lot. We could also hear the doorbell which someone rang for at least half an hour one morning around 7:00am
The Air Conditioning was incredible and well-appreciated throughout our hot stay as well as the complimentary bottled water in the mini-fridge. Being half a block away from the Ottoviano metro stop and in the middle of a walkable city center was also lovely. The bed was made well and the towels were replaced every day.
I originally had my travel agency book me at a different hotel. It as expensive and the bedding was really bad quality (sheets and bed) and the a/c broke and they just gave me a fan and were rude. So I immediately booked this property and got out of my old hotel. I was SO glad! This place is super cute boutique. Mattress was memory foam (not a 3in spring like that other “hotel” that felt like a mattress for a pull out bed, with bed sheets that felt as rough as a disposable face mask). This place was instead very very comfortable, convenient, well priced, and exceptionally well located! Staff is very friendly and professional. It’s super close to the Vatican, across the street is a convenience store for water and fresh fruit. Next door is a pharmacy, and it’s walking distance to some really great restaurants bars and the farmers market!!! It also gives you a vibe like you’re living there in an apartment. Which really enriches the experience to me. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!
The hotel was nice, easy to find, clean and check in was very easy even though we got there late at night. The only thing is that our room was very very small.
It was nice. As expected for what paid.
This property is very close to Vatican City - maybe 4 blocks. Very convenient to everything. It is a bit confusing as the actual hotel begins on the 2nd floor of an apartment bldg. You need to take the lift up to meet the desk clerk. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and the taxi stand is down the street in the square. Great shopping and good restaurants nearby.
room was nice
Great stay, hard to find but it was convenient.
I loved the location. The Metro was a 2 minute walk and St. Peter's a 5 minute walk. It was clean, quiet and safe. I would definitely come back
We stayed here for two nights.the location is great - pretty close to Vatican City, close to the metro and surrounded by outdoor cafes and restaurants. The staff was very helpful in arranging airport transportation for us. The room had high ceilings and looked out into a courtyard so was quiet. There was a small elevator to help us with our bag. The AC worked well. I would definitely stay here again if we return to Rome.
Very secure, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great location, poor service
The room was comfortable and in a great location. However the lack of a receptionist really spoilt our stay - when another guest lost their key and rang the doorbell continuously for 20 minutes at 2am we were unable to contact them for help. It also took over 24 hours for them to resolve us having no hot water.
Adequate
The guest house was situated in a convenient spot for us. It certainly wasn’t ‘Luxury’ as stated in the title. The room was small, there was no tub as stated. The shower was a good size but there was a door missing, consequently the floor got wet. The flushing mechanism for the toilet was poor quality and kept coming away from the wall. There was no bidet. A glass shelf holding a large lamp was very insecure. There were limited sockets for charging phones and other electronic items. The room was overly hot. The bed was comfortable. All in all adequate.
Good price and location
Our stay was great, the staff was kind and helpful. Our room was a decent size and they cleaned it everyday! The location is great, it's walking distance to the Vatican and other popular places amongst tourists. For those not big fans of long walks, there's also bus and metro stop 1-4 mins walk from the guesthouse. Would definitely recommend :)
Great location, and cute little hotel room! The staff was very accommodating. We had some issues with the room and they happily switched us to a different room. Gave great recommendations for restaurants.
A little tough to get a hold of the property manager/ receptionist. we spent a lot of time waiting for them during our check in and check out which cut our time for touring. The room is decent, but the shower head was broken and shower door was inconvenient, water would always spill out. The location is okay, decent but pricey restaurants, fairly easily to get to major tourist attractions. Just little things to think about :)
Very accessible, one block away from Ottaviano Metro station, near St. Peter’s square, plenty of shops and restaurants. The only con is that the Wi-Fi signal inside my room is very weak.
Good service
Good service and the staff are friendly
There is no room service and the hotel manager only allows you to bring certain food in to the room ("can only bring pizza up to room from pizzeria next door"). Room picture is NOT what real room looks like. Bed is like sleeping on cement, and desk chair gave me a backache. Horrible experience.
Great deal! Totally recommended!
Great trip. The location of the place is great for sightseeing.
It would’ve been good at most if it wasn’t for the room having a water issue. The water was leaking in the bathroom so it took a couple towels not to walk on a puddle. There was no one at the front desk and we were exhausted from walking in Rome all day. The next day there was no hot water and they told us we could switch rooms? Yeah very convenient given that we had to leave to the airport early the next day. I was told the pick up was going to be the same if not a similar Mercedes Benz car that picked us up and it was a guy on a van who stopped to pick up two more people. Annoying as hell. The airport is pretty far from property. The property is close to the Vatican though and they do have free breakfast but it’s mostly carbs (toast and butter) I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Front desk was basically non existent. The building has an elevator that I dubbed the death trap. It’s an old little thing... nothing good to say about the room. Oh also the heater didn’t work so don’t sleep naked or you’ll come home sick... like we did... the temperature was set at 21 and it was way too little for my preference. Anyway. Find somewhere else if you can. I’d stay closer to Fontana de Trevi next time it’s way more centric...
The room layout was amazing! And the HOT TUB made the stay 10X better Make sure you guys get the Honey Moon Suite it makes a huge difference and the staff was lovely and kind a few problems with getting the Tub working but staff got it sorted straight away when we told them. And breakfast was good must get the orange juice Ishan & Lucy
MDM Guesthouse is a cute, boutique property, perfect for a couples getaway. It is a short walk away from Vatican City, very handy! Also it is in a great location for the metro - round the corner and easy to get to the main tourist spots. Staff were lovely and room was tidy and cleaned well, all I would say is looked like some deeper cleaning needs to happen (jacuzzi jets in the bath and the towel rail were mouldy!). I am a clean freak though, and think most people wouldn’t notice. Only complaint is the curtains as they were very musty and giving out dust whenever moved, I think just blinds are better and more hygienic. Breakfast was good, enough for each person but not much variety if you don’t like croissants or cornflakes. Staff were all kind and helpful! A good 8/10 stay!! 😊
Location is great for being close to the vatican city area. The bathroom smelled like urine unfortunately though... and the front desk rarely had someone there. However, the rooms were nicely updated, and the in room breakfast service was nice. Good sized bathroom & shower compared to most european hotels!
Perfect Location
Great location next to metro, Vatican, & plenty of bars & restaurants, but quiet at night - perfect combination.Friendly staff.
It was a bit tricky to find originally, but once we found it the staff was lovely and got our room ready for us while we waited for an early check in. Its a great location, just down the road from the Vatican. Loads of restaurants and shops around and a Metro just around the corner. Breakfast gets bought to your room at a time of your choosing, lovely! All the rooms are on 1 floor, so it is very quiet, which is good.
Poor service Rude and will never book via expedia again My dress was stolen and told to buy my own iron and the owner told me to get out for complaining
Great location with friendly and helpful staff! Nice building with a cool little vintage elevator! I would definitely stay here again!
Great location!!! Around the corner from a metro station and a lovely area. The staff were so helpful and the place was spotless. I would recommend staying here.
No wake-up service and no alarm clock in the room.
the metro was around the corner so that was great. Breakfast in bed is a great idea although we didn't get breakfast one morning and when we asked why we didn't receive it they said because the person was late.... I called a couple of days before checkin to ask to not get the room next to the front desk because according to the reviews it's really loud. The lady at the front desk assured me that neither of our 2 rooms were next to the front desk but we ended up getting the room I asked not to get. The next day the toilet didn't work so they offered to let us use their employee bathroom over night and for a day while they fixed it. The lady at the front desk wasn't able to reasure us that we could change rooms until about 3 days into our trip. When they asked if we wanted to change, it was too late because we were already unpacked. So if you get this place you might get a really noisey room even if you call to ask not to get that room. We were able to here every checkin and check out for the 9 days we were there. Early in the morning we would be woken up by the front desk phone ringing and people talking! the rooms are also really tiny so don't expect much room to move around comfortably.
Fantastic
Fantastic Stay love both Rooms. I would highly recommend this place for many reasons
Everyone and thing was the best hotel I have ever stayed in . Only one thing. The bed was very uncomfortable to stiff to sleep well
Friendly staff and excellent communication from time of booking to checking out.
Need better quality towels. My first room (22) bathroom was 2x2 feet. Could hardly take a shower. Requested a different room and was given one with a decent shower.Would be nice for the hotel to have a lobby.
The guesthouse is located in an old building near Ottaviano metro station very central. The staff is super helpful and accommodating and the rooms are very clean. I would definitely recommend this place if you just need a comfy place to sleep.
Very good location , clean and good breakfast. Friendly people , we loved it!
Perfect for a short break
Stayed in MDM with my girlfriend whilst we was in Rome for a few days. Situated very close to the Vatican, so handy for that. About 40 mins walk from the Colosseum which wasnt an issue for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful through out our stay, no issues at all. Room was nice and modern inside, bathroom was nicely done, everything clean and the rooms tidied every day. Breakfast was a choose what you want on a card type affair, and then you get it brought to your room in the morning at your chosen time which is nice, a good way to start the day. On our last day we left before breakfast times started but they sorted us out with some cereal and milk in the fridge the night before which was very helpful of them. Would deffinitely stay here again and recommend to a friend.
Good hotel, close to the Metro. Very comfortable
It was a very relaxing stay. Not too expensive either.
Good Location, Lovely Decorated Room
The hotel is at most a 5 minute walk from the Ottaviano Station (Vatican, St Peter's Square), and very easy to find. The room we had was decorated well. The room had Sky TV. The air conditioning worked well too. The bathroom was also decorated to a high standard and had modern decor. Our room had a jacuzzi bath. For breakfast, you put your order in the day before, so breakfast is delivered to your room the next morning at a time convenient for you.
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff. Perfect location
Amazing hotel, very close to all tourist attractions.
Nice hotel a few minutes walk from the Vatican!
Stayed in this area before so it’s an ideal location, 5 minute walk to Vatican City. Really nice staff and breakfast delivered to the door. Would recommend
It was 88 degrees and the air conditioning didn't work....grrrr
Excellent location, really nice room
We were on our honeymoon and the staff upgraded us to the honeymoon suite as soon as we got there. They were always friendly and asked if they could do anything for us every time we walked into the hotel. The room was cleaned well, the breakfast was nice to have, and the wifi worked perfectly. We did have a slight issue when there was a power outage one of the days we were there but they apologized and it wasn’t their fault, a few other buildings were out as well. It was during the morning anyway, so we were already heading out for the day and it was certainly fixed by the time we returned. All in all, we had a great stay, really comfortable, the AC was working fantastically and it was a great value for the price. I would recommend to anyone!
Good location and good hotel
The experience was very good. The staff is very friendly and respectful. They arranged our transportation to the airport at 3 am which is hard in a city like Rome. The location is walking distance from the Vatican, half a block from the metro and nice restaurants and stores are also very close. I would stay there again and recommend it to everyone.
Lovely hotel...amazing room!
MDM Luxury Rooms are in a great location. The old fashioned lift is brilliant and adds to the character of the place. Both staff we met, a gentleman and a lady, were both very nice and on hand to help with anything we needed. We stayed in the Honeymoon suite, the jacuzzi bath was huge and a massive god send after the endless miles we walked each day, the bed was also huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and the cheekiness of the shower being on full display facing the bed was very amusing. The room was a great size, not small at all, although it had a hanging rail for your clothes, a chest of drawers would of been handy as we had to keep a lot of our stuff in our case. This wasn’t a massive issue though. Although located on a busy road, it was very quiet at night and even in the morning when the market stall opened, it never woke us up, the outside shutters on the windows blocked out the early morning sunlight which was great. The building was very easy to find, less than 2 minutes from the metro station. Breakfast was a very simple choice, which you filled in on a card each evening and left in reception, but it arrived to our room at the exact time we selected it for. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We didn’t really see any of the other rooms but the Honeymoon Suite was lovely.
small hotel next to the metro
Staff so friendly, room very clean and comfortable. Next at to the metro so you can get to all the sites easily. Would recommend this small hotel.
Beautiful room but we had some issues
Hotel was beautiful, location was fine - not super close to the action but still easy to find. We dropped our bags off early before "checking in" and upon our arrival, the front desk staff was giving away our baggage to another guest (of which included thousands of dollars of photography gear and laptops. When we stopped them, they pretended they had got them out for us but when we asked why they were in the hall before we had even entered the hotel door, she said because they heard our buzzer and knew it was us - EXCEPT we entered the building after someone else had opened the door. We did not buzz the hotel to let us in. Instead of admitting it was an honest mistake and apologizing, she lied to attempt to cover her mistake. I would have been livid, as well as held them financially responsible, had we not been there to stop the exchange of bags. Rooms are also no where near sound proof, as proven by the neighbors we shared a wall with who played music and screamed all night. If the bag incident had not upset me so much, I would have enjoyed this hotel.
It's a Guesthouse - Not a Hotel
You have to pay attention because the hotel features a small placque on the wall at the enterance of what looks like an alley-way that says, MDM Luxury Rooms. Nothing else. It's within easy walking distance of the Vatican and the metro is at the corner. We took the metro during the day and in the evening. Seemed reasonably safe with people of all types and ages riding. Once you understand the ticketing system it's not difficult to use and ticket sellers are friendly enough.
Nice close to everthing
I like it is close to everthing specially at vatican and a lot of restaurant, i like mdm cause look like ur belonging is safe
very close to local services / vatican
The overall stay was very good however the room we had was a little small, certainly much smaller than shown in the picture, but the staff were very friendly
Trip To Rome
Very satisfied on the location, cleanliness, safety and most of all service.
Good hotel conveniently placed
The staff were attentive with rooms furnished to a high standard. The location was great for the Vatican and the breakfast was fantastic. All round a great stay - would strongly recommend
Not so luxurious (its OK)
The entrance of the hotel is found not on the main street which may be tricky for some people. Beware that the rooms are located on an apartment so you have to get the lift (which by the way old fashioned ones so if you are not comfortable in using these, stairs are the only option). Also, don't be surprise if you see someone sleeping on the ground floor.. on the floor. The place is really accessible to anyone. The corridor was small, felt like i was in a student accommodation. When we got to the hotel the room was not prepared and someone was fixing the bath/shower.. and did not clean it afterwards.. there was black marks on the shower. The style of the room did not work for me, i think they were going for an 'old fashioned' look, but for me it just looked like the room was not finished being renovated. The stuff in the mini fridge was FREE for the first night- these are all drinks. There were not alot of sockets. The weather in Rome was around 15-18oC at that time and was really warm for me, (un)luckily there was airconditiong in the room, however, the room remained warm the entire time! It felt like it wasn't even working! But it made sense afterwards since the heating was actually on.. The bathroom had a funny smell, we think it was because it's new. Breakfast (cold option only) is served in the room, you have to fill in a sheet for your options and time. Overall, it was OK.
Nice Hotel with good location
Very closed to shops, Metro and Vatican City. Convenient and easy to travel within city. Hotel Staffs are very helpful. Good experience during our stay, would recommend.
It was an ok average guesthouse
The service was great breakfast was great helpful staff however the room cleanliness was not as great as I always exspect however it was clean enough to stay for two nights without thinking to deeply about it . The bed was comfortable and clean other areas needs abit more attention .
Not luxury at all
We arrived to be situated in a room directly behind the reception it wasn't at all luxury there was no sound proofing you could hear the receptionist texting!! The door buzzer went constantly and phone, as well as many other guests complaining we heard it all. The bathroom wasn't tiny which wouldn't have been manageable without the horrible stench that came from it we dreaded opening the door. When asked if we liked our room we asked for another told there wasn't one and to ask the next morning. We asked the next day and they told us the same and passed us on to another ... you can see they didn't car either. It was a present for a 30th And it was embarrassing. I am posting this as we gave the hotel many opportunities to remedy the situation before and be after and they didn't. Never again and would never recommend
Great location, great room if all you want is bed and bathroom, lovely breakfast bought tp your door! Already recommened to friends and would certainty return, Tip- sky telle is in Italian so to change to english click the information (i) button on remote and change lanauge to orginal :)
Close to Vatican city, very friendly staff.
Rome is such a beautiful city with lots to do and see. This guest house was close to Vatican city. Breakfast was ordered night before and then delivered to your room at an agreed time. The room was very clean with daily sheets and towels changed. There was free WiFi The standard room was behind the desk and unfortunately we could hear the late check ins. This was the only negative from what was a fabulous holiday.
Great location - even better staff
Really helpful staff, they can’t do enough! We had a 6month baby and they ensured our cot was in our room and gave us plenty of water bottles throughout.
