This property is maxing value for money absolutely stunning! Don’t let the walk from carpark to hotel put you off if doing it on Friday or Saturday night!
The staff were very efficient. Couldn't access from one floor to another. The lift only went from our floor to ground.
Don't miss out!
Love Staying at the Mayfair. Centrally located, great serviced amazing team. Do yourself a favour, book your stay there today!
Average
Hotel is nice but there was nothing spectacular that would make them charge what they do. Very average
A great location, happy friendly service, room was very nice and clean
Not a good experience, arrived to our room and opened fridge and it smelt so bad the whole room stunk from it rang reception for them to send someone up, guy came and cleaned it out and said he would speak to duty manager I called an hour late for duty manager to arrive and the fridge was not turned on. He said for us to see how we go if in a. Hour it still stinks we can get a room change.. so we did only to wait 45 minutes for the guy from the desk to come and get us to change rooms we didn’t arrive at our new room until 9.30pm horrible service
Great staff lovely atmosphere
Good service very fun loved the inclusive minibar
Fabulous location, close to everything. Clean & tidy, friendly staff.
This is an excellent hotel. Have stayed twice in one week. Never disappointed. Birds incredibly comfortable rooms clean and functional. There is no Netflix or other streaming services available on the TV nor can you mirror. Central and walking distance to all in the Adelaide Central business district. Staff accommodating and helpful. Would definitely return.
Overall amazing stay
customer service was excellent we needed early check in and they gave it to us at 9 am the room was good the beds where good the breakfast buffet was excellent next time me and dad are in Adelaide for the soccer game we will come back to this hotel again which will be next year
The property had a great location and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey and not that great. Otherwise I would highly recommend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mayfair Hotel. We were impressed with the decor; we felt it was very old-school glamour but with a modern twist and facilities. The room was spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We will definitely book another stay at the Mayfair Hotel again in the near future!!
Beautiful elegant hotel right in the centre of Adelaide CBD. The mini bar was all inclusive with the stay and the 24/7 staff desk was very convenient. Everybody was really lovely, great amenities and value for money. Would most certainly stay again.
The hotel far exceeded my expectations. Would gladly stay there again.
This is an excellent hotel. We had a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are outstanding. The beds are very comfortable. The Wifi is reliable. They are generous in relation to items included in the mini bar. The rooms are very quiet and moderated well temperature wise. I am normally a light sleeper but slept very heavily as my partner did as well.
Location is hard to reach. Unhelpful staff and service.Average breakfast.
Amazing!
5 star in heart of Adelaide CBD
Have stayed here many times and it never disappoints.
Had a nice stay
Great location to shops and free public transport (tram service) great staff, very clean property.
Lives up to its 5 stars.
Excellent hotel in a great, centralized location. Beautiful, spacious room, super comfy bed with excellent linens. Water, mini- bar always stocked and free. We stayed three nights and loved it.
Room was excellent, the staff were nice and welcoming and the location is amazing
We stayed at the Mayfair Hotel while in Adelaide for a work event. The hotel was presented nicely and looked lovely in the lobby. The location was great and the room was spacious. However, the let down for us was the cleanliness and the service by the staff. When we checked in, we were told our room wasn't ready which was absolutely fine. But, when we got back the room it was obvious that the room hadn't been fully cleaned properly. There was still a small room service tray with a cutlery set and a bowl of random fruits (unsure if used or not but we we left it) and there was food in the fridge left from the last guest. We called down to the staff to have someone pop up and fix the room up for us, we weren't worried about moving rooms or anything. No one came. Two hours later, we called again. A cleaner came and was confused about what he was there to do. He removed the old food in the fridge but not the try or fruit. He did wipe the fridge out after removing the food but only after we asked. Later that evening, we got take away for dinner. We called room service for some drinks, cutlery and ice to have with it. It never arrived. So while the hotel was lovely, the service let us down alot. For an up market hotel, it was disappointing. I'd stay again, but my expectations would be rather low and I'd choose elsewhere if I could first.
Bed is so comfy and came with free complimentary mini bars
Convenient location. Rooms well appointed, mini bar items included in price. Can get great accommodation deals. Recommend😁
not room 903
I had a noise in my room waking me regularly, everything else wonderful but the periodic noise was very disturbing
Good location large bed
This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Adelaide and suited our 3 day stay.
My favourite place to stay in Adelaide
Great staff, fantastic location and super comfy room
Great stay right in the center of town!
Amazing old Hotel and the restaurant food was exceptional
Lovely hotel in great location. Free minibar a plus. Didn’t get offered a room upgrade for the 2 rooms I booked even though hotel had available rooms.
An excellent hotel would recommend
We had a wonderful time. The hotel was close to all the city sites with shopping and other restaurants nearby. We had dinner in the Mayflower restaurant onsite and it was delicious
Great central location, clean modern rooms, polite and friendly staff. Very nice VIP Terrace Hennessey bar and city views.
Fantastic hotel in a great central position . Highly recommended as the hotel is modern and clean . Service was second to none .
Will stay here again.
Great 2 nights stay. Easy to get to via bus from the airport. Great location in the city, easy to get to everywhere - tram stop right outside. Complementary min bar and wow it was re filled up the second day, we were not expecting that. Roof bar beautiful and also got a complementary drink. Has everything you need, fridge, bathroom items, slippers, bathrobe etc.. Comfortable beds and sound proof.
Overall excellent value for money
Fabulous hotel and staff fantastic will definitely stay again
Fantastic location for shopping-dining. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Great place to stay, staff were very helpful and very convenient location
Great stay. My family and me are all very satisfied with the condition and facilities, comfort and the cleanliness , large room and pleasant smell of the room, walkable to shopping areas, restaurants and museums
stayed before and continue to like the Mayfair for the rooms, style, staff and f&b options
Excellent
I was looking forward to staying at the Mayfair. Usually I stay elsewhere, but I thought that being over the New Year period, I would treat myself. Very disappointed to say the least. Initially, I stayed on the second floor. It was filthy! Took pictures to show staff. Carpet area into each elevator was disgusting. Noticeable stains on carpet in hallway areas. Large chips out of hallway walls that were yet to be patched. Hand shower holder was broken in my room. Lamp in hallway had caked on dirt, literally caked on. Lack of cleanliness could not be blamed on staff being away over Xmas/New Year period, as it was clearly a build up over time. Again, I took photos. I did provide feedback to Last Minute the day proceeding my arrival. The next day I was upgraded to a suite, which was greatly appreciated. However the drain was blocked in the bathroom sink. Surprised the cleaners didn’t notice it when preparing the room. Plus, the suite still had a trundle bed in it, which am assuming was from the previous guests. Disappointing stay.
Great service at front.
Our first stay at the Mayfair after being recommended by friends. Great location, close to shopping and transport. Unfortunately our room had a view of a wall of another building very close by which was not known at booking. Valet parking was the easiest option as no parking onsite. Room starting to look a little tired but clean and staff friendly and helpful.
Bed was great soft and very comfortable room was well appointed and clean
It’s pet friendly so we were able to bring our pets. No other areas in the hotel are pet friendly other than the room. At the costs we paid for pets, would be nice if there a relieving area so we didn’t have to bring our dogs down where they can relieve themselves. Our room is clean but the carpet is definitely not.
I have wanted to stay here since the hotel opened a decade or so ago. The building itself is a 90 year old Romanesque style former office building. The Mayfair has been tastefully fitted out in a style suitable for the building. Because it's a repurposed building, rather than a purpose built hotel, there is no off street arrival or departure zone, so getting in and out of a vehicle is on busy King William St. Our major disappointment was with the TV. They have an older style entertainment system where you still pay $15.95 to watch a movie, and no way to stream from a device. Even with our Chromecast it was useless because the remote had no "source" button to find the relevant HDMI channel. Also, it kept freezing and maintenance had to come to our room to reset the TV. We both are mobility impaired so we spent time resting up in our room so this was rather inconvenient. Location is perfect, on the doorstep of Rundle Mall, Adelaide's premier shopping district. It's only a short walk to Skycity Casino, Adelaide Oval, Festival Centre and all of the wonderful dining & bar precincts within the CBD. Also, there is a 24 hour convenience store right next door. We would stay here again but only after they upgraded their entertainment system to one that most 4 or 5 star international hotels now have.
Very nice hotel right next to Rundle Mall. Tram and bus stops neerby.
Excellent stay at this property. Great location next the mall and was a very busy area. We were pleased to hear that all the drinks and snacks in the mini fridge were complimentary. Not something you typically get included, so that was a nice touch. We also enjoyed a drink on the rooftop bar (bit pricey but expected). Did not check out the restaurant as there is lots of options around.
.
Great staff, let down room
The staff were incredibly helpful. Check-in was efficient. Unfortunately, the property had some features that let us down. The WiFi was so weak we just abandoned trying to use it. The shower leaked and flooded the bathroom no matter the position of the shower door. The cold water faucet fell off in the shower.
Excellent hotel right in the heart of Adelaide city centre. Beautiful rooms. Would highly recommend.
Great location. Lovely accommodation.
All the minibar items were included! I stay in a lot of hotels and it’s either no mini bar or highly overpriced mini bar. Level 7 has a beautiful outdoor deck with a couple of bee hives, and can watch the busy bees and busy world go by.
The room was very nice. We have complimentary minibar The location is very convenient. Just 1 min walk to the Rundle Mall
Love the heritage building and the decor. The bed was super comfortable. Only thing (which is fairly minor) the TV could be improved upon. No information on channels or Netflix, though there were some foxtel channels. It was still a decent size. Very quiet room with a view of Rundle Mall and the hills. Would stay again.
This could be an amazing place. What they don't tell you about this hotel is that it's dog friendly. We thought that meant you could have a dog on a lead in the cafe downstairs but we entered our room to find a dog bed on the floor with dog biscuits in a bowl. While we love dogs, we don't have one and we promptly asked housekeeping to remove the doggy accessories. The carpets are filthy and the place smelt stale - presumably because you can walk dogs throughout the common areas and have them in the rooms. Perhaps we were given a dog-friendly room by mistake but it didn't really matter because anywhere carpeted smelt like dog. Upon re-entering the hotel after dinner one night, we had to step over a vomiting man sitting in the alcove at the front door. Not necessarily the hotel's fault, but the area is not one where you'd feel safe walking alone at night. Positives - it's close to Rundle Mall and the restaurant was excellent. We won't be staying again.
Stay there five times last few year!
Excellent property at a great location. The staff in the reception ( a gentleman with a turban) was extremely helpful in giving me road direction to a place I wanted to go. He even came out to the front of hotel and pointed me which route to take. Whenever I’m in Adelaide I will stay at Mayfair, real value of money for a hotel of that class.
My room was beautiful! Definitely will stay there again.
Perfect luxury break
Beautifu hotel, big room with limited useful space
Beautifully appointed, centrally located, nice people, excellent service. I don’t recommend this hotel if you have a lot of luggage or a long stay, however. The arrangement of the room is awkward, with limited closet space and only space to open one bag. Even though the room is spacious, the scale and the arrangement of the furniture is awkward and difficult to manage.
There was no video casting option on the tv and we had to buy movies. Very old school
Loved the stay however the scent of the skincare in the bathroom is unpleasant and nauseating that both myself and guest had to buy our own body wash to use. Also PowerPoints where in an inconvenient spot to charge phones
Clean, friendly staff, easy check in.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mayfair!!!!!! Best service by far!!
Fantastic hotel. Location, staff, cleanliness, comfort were all excellent. Will stay there again.
Central location
Excellent location but the windows had not been cleaned for a long time. Internet connection was impossible. Ideal parking across the road with Wilson’s was well worthwhile booking through the hotel.
If I could place this hotel in a slightly different location it would be absolutely perfect!! The hotel is amazing, the rooms are cozy an comfortable. All staff so nice and friendly! I am just not the biggest fan of it being on the corner of king william ad hindley street, on one end its a busy road with a lot of traffic, on the other is known for the nightlife and i did get approached a fair bit from some of the wonderers around. However once stepping inside the hotel it truly is a 5 star stay!
Very nice room and the staff were friendly and informative
Lost my booking, was asked to wait in the bar and have a complimentary drink while they found me another room. After an hour they located me a room and then put the complimentary drink on my room tab on check out - thanks guys!
An interesting historical building with a central location in the city. Easy walk to the galleries and shopping precinct. Free tram outside the door made it easy to get to central market. Some areas seemed aged and in need of repair (eg tiles on outside area in rooftop bar and flaking paint on stools) Staff generally helpful. Hennessy bar was closed on our first night due to private function which was disappointing. We also ordered a coffee in the Den and after waiting 15 mins and then enquiring about our order it was stated ‘oh I completely forgot’ I replied that it was unacceptable for a 5 star hotel as they were not busy. There was a mix up when we rang to confirm booking and they said there was no record. Fortunately Wotif online manage to resolve this.
I enjoyed my stay but found the hotel a little strange. I can't put my finger on it, but it's a little unusual Hotel.
The hotel was overbooked
Perfect location for Adelaide Oval and Shopping
Classic luxury
A classical style of luxury hotel with well dressed and professional staff. The room was spacious and comfortable with complimentary mini bar.
Very modern and beautiful decore.
I heard and read good things about the hotel, however upon my arrival I was a little underwhelmed. It overpromised and under delivered. Bathroom was not cleaned on the second day, staff were not knowledgeable on the local area, attractions or food destinations. Pretty disappointing for a hotel with so much opportunity.
Great Adelaide hotel - wouldn’t stay anywhere else
Second time returning to this great hotel. Excellent central Adelaide location close to tram stop and Rundle mall. Rooms in very good condition with very comfortable bed. However, some staining on carpets and loud noises coming from fridge and toilet throughout the night. We have stayed at this hotel before and the noisy amenities were only an issue in the most recent room. Overall, lovely hotel and would recommend to anyone staying in Adelaide.
Central to facility’s! Close to shopping! Quite and comfortable….
Good
A great stay, very comfy beds, quiet room, and convenient location. Would definitely stay here again.
Clean, stuff are very nice
Its a lovely relaxing hotel to stay in, I tend to stay at the Mayfair Hotel as first choice when in Adelaide. Only negative, Some of the front desk staff were somewhat inexperience, there was a problem with their EFT system. I was ask to check my card & be inconvenienced when all along it was their system & the staff did not know what to do??
We arrived late and tired. We were quizzed at the entrance about who we were. We had to pay a surprise $400 bond that we had knowledge of and was immediately withdrawn from our bank account and is still not refunded into our account. We never had this happen at any other accommodation. Rubbish wrappers in the room under furniture. In the wine capital of Australia in accommodation marketed as one of the best.....no wine in the mini bar? We visited a few bars near by including hains and co, but rules list for the Hennessy bar made it sound like a place not relax. There are better options in Adelaide.. give the mayfair a miss.
Best location! Large room, comfortable bed. Staff went out of their way to be accommodating and friendly.
House keeping was not done at 3pm even though I put the “please clean the room” sign up at 10am. Even after I called up, they tried to argue that the hotel policy allows house keeping till 5 pm to make the room. I have stayed at hundreds of 5 star hotels around the world and that was the first time I come across such policy.
Excellent hotel . The restaurant Mayflower is wonderful and I had the best beef wellington in my life . The Hennessey bar superb .
The hotel was very nice and its location is very convenient for a short visit to Adelaide, you can easily walk from there to the Museum, the Art Gallery, the University, Rundle Mall, restaurants and others. There is also a free tram if you don't want to walk too much and want to visit the Botanic Garden, the Zoo is nearby but we did not visited this time. The tram to Glenelg beach is right there and it is a good place to visit. The Concierge is ready to show you how reach all those places. I am pointing all of this because it is not easy to take a taxi or uber in downtown Adelaide as there are many parking/stopping restrictions you have to walk to a taxi station.
Rather disappointing
Very well located in the center of Adelaide but definitely not a 5 star hotel. Many inexperienced staff, lack of response to room service requests, very limited bar hours 5-9pm only. Roof terrace ok but poor outdoor space. Difficult drop off and pick up area . Overall Ok but needs downgrading to 4 star to lower expectations
Comfortable & Lovely accommodation. Friendly staff. Close to ammenities and public transport. Highly recommend.
Loved our stay
Very nice hotel in the heart of Adelaide. Loved the rooftop bar.
Excellent property. Ordered room service dinner - mediocre food.
Nice old building (gargoyles!) Done up well, right across Rundle Mall. Nice rooftop bar, breakfast good though a bit pricey. Area very central, so convemient; but also a bit noisy (tram; Hindley st nightlife). I also found the elevator bing sounds a bit annoying overnight; but was in a room right opposite the elevator, so this is likely not an issue in most rooms.
We stayed at the hotel for a week. Me, my 6-year-old daughter and my 18-year-old daughter. Our experience was great! The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious. We loved our breakfast, the banana bread was delicious, and not to mention the service, the kindness and patience of the waiters. It will definitely be my favorite place to stay next time.😊

I last stayed at the Mayfair a few years ago for work, this trip was for leisure and the hotel met expectations. A complimentary minibar is a nice touch, the bars on the rooftop and den are great with good customer service. Nice rooms, good beds and decent pillow options. It was very affordable given the standard of the hotel.
