Can’t love this motel any more then I already do it’s our go to motel every time we stay in Dubbo .. the new Managers we had were absolutely amazing they couldn’t help enough .. I also love how you don't have to fight for your parking spot, it does one parking spot per room .. rooms are clean & they had the aircon on when we arrived it’s the little things …

A Great place, location & hosts 👍

Room was very clean and excellent inclusions with microwave & toaster, crockery & cutlery. Everything we needed. BUT, The hosts were absolutely fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble. I have stayed at Matilda many times and it continues to be one of the best , def amongst the top ,motels in Dubbo. Always clean the only drawback is the small ensuite bathroom which is always a nuisance but easily overlooked with the cleanliness and fit out of the rest of the rooms. I also think the provision of cutlery and accessories is a small but important gesture for travelers.

Our stay was most enjoyable

This motel is good value for money. Very clean, fresh paint in our room, which was pretty sparsely furnished. Yes carpet and bathroom was dated but we are talking budget motel. The bed was firm -ok. Location quiet and we slept well.

Only there for one night, shower was great bed was comfortable. Stayed in a Executive Bunalow, great room for a weekend stay.

One of the soap dispensers in the shower had leaked all over the floor. To look at the floor it just looked wet. When I stepped in I slipped on the soap and only saved myself from falling by grabbing the safety rail.

I have stayed at the Matilda many times over the years for business and it usually is great however people were roaming around creating lots of noise late at night and I felt unsafe. The restaurant is not open and even the drink machine was non functioning. Sad to see it go down hill as it used to be great.

The foul bathroom water smell meant the bathroom door needed to be closed at all times. The mattress needs replacing as you can feel the springs in your back and is very sagged. Don’t tell people you’re upgrading them when you actually downgrade them. Meaning if we book a room with a queen bed & a lounge don’t change them to a queen bed and a single bed, when it’s a couple. Won’t be back unfortunately.

I use to stay there years ago when I was a manager for FACS. It’s changed a lot since then, but the standard is the same. It’s the best motel in Dubbo.

Upon entering room we noticed a strong smell and then found fridge was left open and the previous people that stayed has left food in fridge Disgusting

The bed in my room was in poor condition. It was uncomfortable to sleep on as it had a definite dip in the middle of the mattress. Otherwise, it was what I expected for the price.

Property needing repairs. Dents in walls, vanity basin needs replacing. Bathroom barely functional due to cramped space. We chose this place because it had a restaurant but we were told on check in it was closed.

I booked a room via wotif for 4 persons, 3A 1C. Upon arrival I was advised that the room reserved for me was for three persons only, no solution was offered, and having driven for 6 hours to get there, I reluctantly accepted the room. Which meant that one of our family had to sleep on the floor.

Our poor experience started when the staff member at reception was rude to my husband upon arrival and rudely told him “you came in at the wrong entrance!” Completely unprofessional, should have been handled differently with a paying guest. Our room (117), was one at the of the units next to the laundry. Triangular in shape, it was small, dark. cramped and lacked sunlight. A pungent smell emanated from the bathroom drain, so the door needed to be closed at all times. When we thought things couldn't get worse, we found the mattress hard and sloped downwards towards the head of the bed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Spend another $20-$40 and stay so ewhere nicer.

The Queen Room was an odd shape and cramped with bed sideways across the room (so as to fit in), an old wardrobe up against a short angled wall and the bathroom door less than 1mm clearance from the wrong-sized vanity in the bathroom. Bathroom barely enough room to stand in and use a towel. Bed mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Reception was helpful and friendly. Rooms are ready for an update.

We were put in a room that had a stained bed cover on it. Then whoever was staying in the room next to us was outside all hours of the afternoon/night on their phone screaming and yelling filthy language. Then again early hours of the morning around 5am. Unfortunately, due to this experience we will never stay at Matilda Motor Inn again. It’s an absolute disgrace.

They changed the room we booked with 2 different excuses, gave us the cheaper room but still charged for the dearer room rate. when queried they said oh sorry we will fix it and only reduced one nights rate not the 3! The sofa bed was grubby and when we opened it, with difficulty, it was covered in black dirt! Definitely not a 4 star at all.

It was an easy checkin and check out. Some points that needed addressing: no hand soap in the dispensers when we arrived. Not enough apare sheets to use for the sofa bed which we had prearranged.

My room was next to a thorough fare, noisy in early morning. Linens distributed in shopping trolleys, more noise. Bed was comfy, pillows and linen clean and unstained. Did like that it was very clean.

Place was clean, staff were friendly. However the bed was really uncomfortable, and the bathroom was ridiculously small. Not worth the money I paid to stay.

We were greeted by a friendly and helpful person at reception, who felt like he was the waiter and cook in the restaurant. I wish I knew his name, however he seemed to be everywhere, and did the job well. The meals in the restaurant were good, honest, and tasty, without being fine dining. There was a swimming pool that was appreciated after a sweltering day driving. The rooms were clean and suited us. We will stay at the Matilda Motor Inn again and hopefully next time an extended stay to be able to enjoy breakfast.

Service was good and staff were friendly however the rooms were outdated and beds were uncomfortable. The kettle in the room was yellow inside and wasn’t useable, The water also turned yellow once boiled.

Required pest controls, found so many pests in the room and in bed.

We paid for a queen bedroom and was giving a double bedroom. We approached the receptionist and was told it was queen bed. But there was no way it was a queen bed the room was small and we were ripped off

Nothing to actively like or dislike. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. It was value for money.

Service was very good, bed sheets had tears in them which was rectified. Quilt old and worn. Ceiling and walls had cracks and marks. Smoke alarm was covered with a plastic bag (rectified) overall ok but needs some work to make it worth the $140 a night price tag.

Firstly .. cupboards where dinner ware kept.. was filthy . Grime & coffee rings . Thank God I bought antibacterial wipes .. wiped every surface .. dining table .. sink .. even lounge suite YUCK ! Dishwasher .. no tabs so got those & washed what we needed. Microwave smelt of burnt something so cleaned that Lounge & one bedroom aircon not working despite getting new batteries .. forgot to tell reception about that. Bedding was clean .. didn’t look too closely tho . Towels like sandpaper . Drains smelt in lower bathroom so drifted to close bedroom. Obv no deep cleaning done in this “executive “ suite .. which was really an old house . We had 5 kids with us so the bedroom with ensuite was a great play area . Would I go there again ? Not if I could avoid it . It’s not like it was dirt cheap !

Have stayed many times here before, this King room was not up to scratch, in poor condition with a terrible vibration in the ceiling ducting. Hardly slept at all and could not change rooms as they were booked out. So disappointed 😔
