Room temp was too hot, rooftop bar was beautiful, beds were comfy. Thanks
Great hotel and great location
Nice hotel, in very convenient and central location. Rooms were in great shape and the staff was very friendly. Only issue, the elevator would take a while some times!
A place you want to return to
I have been searching for a hotel in mid-town that I could keep returning to for work as I have been having to find a new hotel each time I visit the city - always unhappy with the last. I am happy to say Vacation Club is it! I will be back :) Very nice staff, good size room, and the best blackout curtains ever!
Friendly staff!
We enjoyed our stay.
Good hotel
Location, location, location!
The check in was easy. They had a lovely jazz 3 piece band in the evening. My room was clean and quiet. The only problem was the bed was a little old. Slope on the sides. Other than that my stay was restful.
This was a great NYC visit. The staff really made the experience wonderful!
Great place to stay for a weekend in nyc!
Arrived early, Front desk agent pre-checked us in so when room was ready we just had to pick up the keys. Everyone was friendly. I did try to call down to get an extra blanket but it didn’t work, so had to stop by the desk and got one right away. Stay was nice we did a quick little trip. Staff offered us snacks for the kids which was very thoughtful and nice! Over all would definitely book again.
My daughter's day in Midtown
There's no microwaves in the rooms, the ice maker is all the way on the lower level. It won't let me upload pictures. 😫
Everything is prefect
Business Trip from Hell
I was booked for 2 nights and I even called ahead to pay but when i got there to check in they didn't have a room for me. they ubered me 10 blocks down to the nosiest part of NYC and when I got there they only had one room for one night for me with no direction on what i was supposed to do for the second night. instead of them handling it i had to call the prev hotel and pass my cellphone around the customer service desk to multiple people to try and figure it out. they were clearly annoyed with me and it was a terrible experience. when i finally got to my room my key didn't work and i was stuck bc i couldn't use the elevator to get down so i had to wait for someone to buzz me down. then at 3am someone was trying to get into my room and banging on my door, it was terrifying.
Friendly staff, clean, many amenities, and overall great hospitality.
Staff is great! Friendly and helpful. Thanks to Anna and Oscar for hosting my party. Stephen at the Concierge was great and helpful with my Bonvoy points. Room was bright, clean, quiet and comfy. Rooftop was well maintained. Will come back again!
Great for short stay at a great price close to everything in nyc. Easy to get tp trains...shopping..dining and times square!
Room was small, and very expensive(even for NYC) but that was not the staffs call! They were about a 30/10!! Very pleasant as well as accommodating. Need to lower the price, and open up the rooftop bar a bit earlier(5pm on a Saturday??? Didn’t make any sense. Overall about an 8.5/10
Ok-ok. Not the usual Marriott standard
Location is good and convenient. Room is a little cozy, comfortable for solo or couple with one large luggage. Filter water dispenser available. Lift is slow and staff is not as friendly
The location is good and convenient. The room is a little small, but comfortable. There are filter water refill available. But the staff service and attitude are bad. We left in the morning with our luggages and the staff just walk away instead of helping to hold the entrance door for us. Carlos in fact was the best staff and nicest personality. Carter has the worst attitude
I am giving an overall rating of 3, but it should be much lower. The staff was nice but everything else wasn't. The pictures show food, drinks, big rooms, please don't pay attention to it. The bedrooms are small dated and cheap, the hotel says is a 2 queen and is 2 full unconfutable beds, the water is either too could or too hot, If you are hungry good luck there are not restaurants nor room service the lounge opens 4 times a week and has no variety, the roof top is a popular place for drinks but nothing else. If you want ice, a microwave or bending machine by the way listed as amenities you have to go to the first floor. The internet was off when we arrived, and I really don't know if it was ever fixed, because the TV never worked and Wi-Fi slow or non existent. THIS WAS A STAY FROM HELL... NEVER AGAIN.
Excellent location and especially loved the rooftop bar
Great view and service with minor inconveniences
Best part about the room was the view! Other than that there was a few problems. The first thing that was a problem was the elevators, they weren’t working correctly. There was only two of them in total and one of them wasn’t working all lines were out the door at times and it was super slow to get up to the 17th floor. Also normally if we called up for extra blankets they would get there in about five minutes or so. One night we called, they said it would be right up, 25 minutes past so I called the front desk to ask what was going on and they were just kind of snippy. Saying that there was only one person and we need to be patient it was not in a nice tone. I mean I don’t know why he didn’t just tell us there was only one person when we called the first time and it might be slow but he gave us no indication that it was running slow. That’s why we called a second time. I would have appreciated and update without the attitude. Also the bathroom door was barn door style door and kept hitting a cabinet placed in the room it was kinda like we want you to break the door placement. Otherwise everything was cleaned well and the service was good, if I were to go to the city I would stay there again.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
desk crew, Nikita in particular, we’re fantastic!
Loved the hotel and staff and waling tours. Although the rooms are small they functioned well. Our only negative is the washrooms need a shelf, given there in no counter, and a couple hooks.
The hotel is in walking distance of several NYC attractions.
Great location!
Night light in bathroom a big plus but it didn’t work. Room was gloomy but very clean. Nice handicap amenities.
Five star rating!
Friendly and professional staff! Everyone went above and beyond. Very clean and comfortable rooms.
Marriott Pulse was perfect
This is a very nice hotel. The room was very clean. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend.
AC horrible noise, told them twice and basically said have no other room
Great location, clean, very friendly staff.
Loved our stay here! Very clean and friendly staff. Rooms were a good size. Best part was the location! So close to Times Square, ESB, TOTR and so many other prime locations. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel staff was unprofessional. The housekeeping knocked on our door early in the morning for room clean every hour while we were sleeping. Then some construction work started right outside our room while we were sleeping. As students who were on a holiday to relax and sleep in it was very disappointing that we didn’t even get prior notice about this loud construction work
Excellent value and location
Excellent location, room options, and staff. The rooms are a good size, particularly for NYC and the rates are competitive. Will definitely be staying again.
Rooftop View is beautiful!
The beds have seen better days and are too soft. It was very difficult to get non-scalding water from the sink. There certainly are better options in the city. Nice roof top with an incredible view.
The walls are paper thin, we can hear the rooftop bar from our floor on the 17th floor and the bar is on the roof. People next to us sneezed and we heard them. The Blinds fell on me not once but twice. They said the first time we will take care of it and the next night it fell on me AGAIN. then I;m told the 2nd time it will be ok.....Really? avoid the place
Nice property, comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Although the hours were limited during my stay, the rooftop bar is very nice with a great view of the Empire State. Property is in a great location also.
The building is old but it is updated however with old buildings comes thin walls. We could hear conversations being had in every room on our side of the floor we were on. The toilet also ran every minute or so for an hour after flushing. It’s in a great location. The staff was great. I just don’t know if I would stay there again just because of how much noise is IN the building.
Not worth the price, especially as a Marriot membe
Certainly not worth the price, rooms are small and there’s no possibility for upgrades regardless of your status.
Restful get away.
It was a very comfortable stay, the view was great. Everyone was nice and welcoming. We had no issues. I would definitely recommend it to a couple looking for peace and quiet. I would have liked to check out other areas but this was a short stay. We will definitely book another stay there the next time we need to get away.
It was a very nice stay. Property has a nice café at the lobby and they were always offering free treats, and happy hour. Staff is kind. They also offer free walking tours. I thought that was nice if you are into history.
I love how the staffs are friendly and how the room is big enough for what I paid for. The view from my room is pleasant and the place is just walk around the famous attractions such as times Square,St Patrick and Empire State..the place is just. convenient.
Great location, friendly staff, nice rooms
Liked everything! Wouldn't change a thing.
Excellent customer service. Rooms were roomy and clean.
Excellent location. It has everything you need. Only negative was the air conditioner kept switching on and off.
We could see empire building in the room! The hotel was very clean, staffs were kind. I will stay again at this hotel.
Staff was helpful. Allowed for delayed checkout.
The staff and the hotel were amazing. 10/10
Girls trip
It was the staff that made this trip truly exceptional - warm, friendly and sincere. The hotel is in an incredible location with a stunning roof-top bar.
kind staff, nice location, enough space, great empire state building city view.
Great staff & location.
Had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was cozy and everything you need for New York City.
Convenient NYC Stay
Location was convenient for us. Walking distance from train station and theaters. Rooms were small. Bed was comfortable. Good wifi. Nice view of the Empire State Building.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room and view were great. I did not like that we were unable to get down from our floor to the street for 20 minutes because the elevators were left unmanaged and operated very inefficiently while a private party was leaving from the rooftop. We had to skip dinner and run and we nearly missed our show. I did not like being harangued on the phone after returning home about Marriott offers and Bonvoy deals.
Good size room for NYC and great location.
Overall it was just a nice place to stay. The view of the Empire State Building was wonderful. We didn’t get a chance to do any onsite activities but everyone we talked to was very enthusiastic about it.
False advertisement
First I would like to say this hotel has an old school feel. The room itself could be more modernized. My biggest issue was that this app said the hotel has bars and restaurants. I specifically chose this place to be able to do indoor brunch it was valentines day weekend i was trying to avoid the bar hopping. The plan was just to stay in eat drink enjoy the view. Once i got there i was told the bar was closed, the restaurants were closed and i wouldnt be able to go to the rooftop lounge because it was closed as well. So my valentines day weekend went to waste.
Nice hotel, we were very comfortable in our room and the staff was extremely friendly
Very nice staff. I even got a early check in. I would definitely come back again.
Everything was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Fast checked in clean hotel excellent staff
Staff was very accommodating and the property was clean. Rooms were a decent size for a Manhattan hotel but your just really there to sleep. I would def stay at the property again.
Never Stay Anywhere Else!
Great views, amazing location, and friendly staff!
Good location, helpful staff and very clean rooms - an important feature for any lodging but key for guests during Coronavirus times. A minor suggestion: Improve lighting in the lobby. It's a bit dark.
The first thing that caught my eye before entering the lobby was the strumming guitarists in the breakfast/common area. In case I didn't know my vacation was starting! Staff very kind. Great Japanese fast food restaurant, Boketto, on Fifth Avenue(36th & 37th) Macy's just a few minutes away walking.
No refilling room with beverage tea and coffee. TV not able to connect with phone.
There is all kind of annoying noises. Very annoying
Did not expect the bed to be a pull-out couch, but the room was comfortable. The water temperature was very sensitive--either piping hot, or too cold. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Great location, wonderful room and staff, loved the experience!
Friendly staff. Unfortunately, you can’t know when rude guest are checking in. Loved the convenience of everything around it.
All staff very friendly and helpful very comfortable city hotel
Great location. Great staff. Nice roof bar. Daily events and tour information at the hotel. Could not fault it
-on arrival day (12/27)the gentleman downstairs in Vacation Club area was very welcoming, kind, said help yourself to water bottles, etc. A different gentleman the next day (12/28) , however, was very curt when we wanted a water bottle , telling us to get the small cups of water down the hall instead. He was rude, hardly looked up from his computer before barking at us and clearly letting us know the refrigerated water bottles were not for us! If you are going to have waters, drinks free for some, it should be for all. Otherwise, guests are left feeling less-than, not as important as others. Front desk people were very nice and accommodating w keeping our luggage when our room was not ready when we arrived. We appreciated that very much.
Great time. Clean, friendly staff, rooftop bar, and view of the empire state building.
I thought that visiting this vacation club could have give us great experience as possible future customer . It was not
Awesome hotel!
Awesome hotel. Water and cups in entry way. Coffee and danishes in morning. Friendly, helpful staff. Great rooftop bar with views of Empire State Building
The property was centrally located to local attractions. This was the smallest hotel room that I have ever had. Bathroom with glass door provided awkward moments for guests who needed to use the rest room.
Good location and rooftop bar. For the price you pay too small rooms cheaply furnished. In addition, the very loudly sounding airconditiong system and refrigerator disturb your sleep.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We were so disappointed at little amenities in the rooms. The rooms were so small that my husband and I couldn’t walk by the bed and we are very small people. Bathroom was tiny and the closet was a laugh. It was so small that we couldn’t hang our clothes in it. It only had room for 5 hangers. The tissue was hidden in the cabinet under TV. We really think the hid it so guest won’t see it and therefore won’t use it. The vanity was so tiny that we couldn’t even put our tooth brushes on it it was a tiny sink. Although it was a clean room but We will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
NYC first experience
5 Star Hotel in the heart of NYC
Very small rooms, air conditioning unit was extremely loud and kept me up or woke me up. Carpet was filthy. Pillows were old, nothing modern.
Hotel was clean and the staff was very nice! It was a great location for my stay in New York.
Super hotel i Midttown Manhattan. Vi havde et værelse med 2 store senge, hvilket passer perfekt til en familie.
Service was very good. Staff were more then happy to accommodate especially the night desk who even obliged with a coffee when I was up very early before it was set up. Free coffee in the morning was great and location within reach of anywhere. And the gym, whilst not being the biggest, was good enough being as I was on holiday..
Excellent customer service, amazing rooftop bar feels close enough to touch the Empire State Building! Clean rooms, comfy bed, affordable prices for NYC. We always choose this Marriott hotel when traveling to New York! The location is in walking distance to Times Square and many other sites!
Staff were very friendly and helpful ,they also offer free tours everyday to different areas of Manhattan.Would have been great to know this before I had booked tours elsewhere. Although the 2 Ladies I meet doing the tours were very helpful with suggestions of other thing to do while in New York. The rooftop Bar is also great to stop into every night on the way home such a great view of The Empire state Building.
The Concierge staff were great; very helpful navigating NY! We had a wonderful tour guide.
Excellent location. Compact room but economical as NY hotel prices are high. Excellent, pleasant, helpful staff and a variety of restaurants in short walking distance. Great bar on the rooftop with views of the city. Highly recommended for a short stay.
Great situation nea Empire State Building. Wonderful view of ESB from our room. Roof terrace bar was a delught. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff and free walking tours a wonderful feature.
Great location. Room was small but comfortable for 2. Great service. Roof top bar was nice!
Bait and Switch
Disappointing from A-Z. The room was not ready when we arrived at 1:30pm. That was no problem...Although I made a unrefundable repaid reservation for a double-double room we were given a single King. The front desk didn’t say anything...just gave me a key. When I informed the front desk they gave us us a Tiny double twin Handicap friendly room. We did not discover this until changing rooms..I.e. the French ntdesk did not tell me it was a tiny handicap room. The room was so small there was almost no space to open our bags. The bathroom was not well functioning...the motorized door was difficult to open...and when open you could not get to the sink. When I complained10 minutes later that this room was inferior to the first I was informed that the original room was no longer available. This hotel is a conversion of a postwar building. Tight hallways. Bad WiFi. Rooftop bar has good view but it is too small. If you like small rooms, an slow elevators that are also constantly used by cleaning staff then you’ll like this place.
The room was quite small but was manageable. When taking a shower water leaked into the area outside. Carpet was stained.
Excellent staff, perfect location, very central. Roof top bar had great vibe as well as fantastic views. Rooms kept clean & tidy by maids. Couldn’t have chose a better hotel
I had booked a room with 2 double bed and they gave me a handicap room. The only way to open doors was to push the button and we would have to wait for it to close by itself. The Sink faucet barely had pressure and the temperature of water was very difficult to adjust since the knobs wasn’t working correctly. The bathroom had debris and hair from previous guest.
The room was way too small and way too expensive for what the hotel offered.
The room was tight for our family of 4. Only stayed 1 night and it was fine for that. Wouldn’t have wanted to stay additional nights. Also, our room overlooked the street that the main entrance was on which made it a little noisy. But the most disappointing part of this hotel was while waiting in line for check in, the two employees behind the booth let an entire family just walk right up in front of us like we hadn’t even been standing there for 15 minutes waiting for our turn!
