Thr only place to stay in KL

Have been staying at MO Kuala Lumpur for 25 years and I highly recommend it. There are many newer hotels in the city but please ignore the exterior look and stay here. If you can, book a club room. Well worth it and maybe book an airport car from that hotel and be treated like a prince or princess from the moment you arrive at KLIA

The Mandarin Oriental is a beautiful hotel that is perfectly located in the City Center district. The staff was extraordinarily professional and kind. What made my stay even better was all the front doormen. I want to especially acknowledge Alam and the morning doormen. He was kind and made us feel welcome beyond our expectations. Malaysia is a beautiful country & the Mandarin Oriental reflect its beauty .

Great location and friendly staff

Needs a full refurbishment

I Love this hotel and have been going for over 20 years, so it is sad to score and write this review so low as have such fond memories ! But the hotel is in desperate need of a full refurbishment and my experience for a 3 day stay wasn’t great. They need to close the hotel like MO Singapore to complete the whole hotel renovations properly. The rooms, restaurants and all areas need a total revamp, with some service and client experience training to get this brand in KL back on track.

Overall a very conveniently located, modern and elegant hotel. Due to CNY holidays there were a lot more tourists than professionals. And the queues for breakfast very long. Although understandable, they could have predicted this and opened up alternative spaces to have breakfast. The reason for low stars is the unprofessional behaviour shown by the servers and cleaners after breakfast buffet closed. The buffet closes at 10:30am although guests are usually still around for another 30 mins or so like any other hotel. And the staff keep their voices low topping up coffee etc for a few remaining guests. But not the Mandarin Oritenal KL. Unusually, the cleaning crews started to descend at 10:35am and the extremely high pitched talking and clanging of utensils was very odd for a premium property. Many properties end breakfast at the usual time although I have yet to see a hotel where the staff went about talking loudly, removing left over food with pits and pans clinging, and guffawing as well as back slapping each other. Not one day but all three days. Just something that the hotel can easily improve upon by coaching staff. Thank you.

Beautiful property next to Petronas Towers. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Staff are extremely helpful and very pleasant. Buffet breakfast is wonderful.,

A Well-Deserved 5 Stars

This was my first stay here and I must say it was pleasant, excellent and far exceed my expectations. Staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming, and service was top-notch. A stone’s throw away from KLCC, very convenient. Thank you for making my stay a memorable one. Will most definitely return to Mandarin Oriental for my future trips to KL.

Location is absolutely convenient. However, I disliked the sofa that comes with the room, it sinks too much in the middle. Also external food deliveries are not allowed to be dropped off or sent up to the room by the concierge. Talk about petty.

Brilliant stay, felt very welcomed on arrival, had a room with a great view, the room had been made up specially, was clean and tidy. We ate in the steakhouse in the evening and again all was great. Would stay again.

Amazing service

Outstanding experience.. the location is superb for shopping and dining options without weather affecting the day. The facility is well maintained and food quality’s at the breakfast buffet is one of the best i have ever experienced. But the staff and attentiveness of the staff the the best category to rave about, from concierge with Subra, to the breakfast buffet staff Ryadh, and all the rest of the team.. to the room service, nothing was more than 5 min to brong to room. Its by far better than competitive name brands that i am an elite member of. Would stay there again any time i visit KL.

Excellent stay - book it!

Amazing stay and arguably one of the best hotels I have stayed in! The team, in particular, were excellent and made it for us. Loved the infinity pool area, gym, club lounge and close proximity to the towers. Yes, there are more modern, more shiny and even taller hotels nearby, but I can't see how they would be able to compete on service. I will definitely return when next in KL NB - the upgrade to a club room was well worth it, considering the food/drink options (and of course the great team up there who really got to know you, during your stay).

we loved the staff and the ameneties! What we did not like was that we were comstantly looking for places! Like the Bar, the restroom outside the pool and so on! The signage is just not easy to find and interpret

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was large, and attractive and had one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve slept in. We really enjoyed the park view and it was a bonus to have the park and big ornamental pond below to walk around, and the two big shopping centres next door were great to have nearby too. We enjoyed the cafe option at the hotel which had a compact but varied menu of tasty meals, and felt like a good restaurant at night with its attractive interior decoration and ambient lighting. We found the staff unfailingly friendly and helpful which enhanced our experience. We’d go back to the Mandarin Oriental in a heartbeat if returning to K.L

If you would like to understand how to deliver amazing customer service visit the club lounge area at The Mandarin Oriental and see how it done. This grand lady of a hotel a moment from the Petronas Towers is a warm blanket it a crazy world, tradition holds firm and standards are very high! Customers are front and centre and the kind and gentle service is just perfect. The rooms are light bright and well equipped, our tower view room was mind blowing! The food is very good, breakfast was a treat with many options available. If you want your hotel to feel like a refuge from the madness this is the place for you.

This iconic hotel lives up to its reputation. The room was beautifully furnished and comfortable with great amenities and additional touches. From check in to check out, service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was sensational with a variety of food styles. The options for poolside, bar restaurant and lounge dining are excellent.

Arrived late at night, checkin was quick and efficient. Very courteous staff, breakfast time was busy yet very efficient with a small 15 min wait time. Great stay.

Magnificent hotel and staff

Hotel was exceptional with checking in made so easy and the service at the desk was amazing with everything explained, The room was superb,the bags were upstairs before we were. The pool ,gym,sauna,steamroom and resturants were fantastic A bit of a line up to get into breakfast on the weekend but it was only 10mins and worth the wait but on the monday straight in We had a late flight out last day and was allowed to stay using all facilities until 4pm and was given late check out Out flight got further delayed and left hotel at 6pm. All staff and management should be so proud of themselves as service,smiles,manners and professionalism was 10 out 10 I will only ever be staying there every time in Kaula Lumpa

The Mandarin Oriental is an iconic hotel but unfortunately this property is dated and for the price is not competitive with other 5-star hotels nearby. The service was incredible and they had a WhatsApp concierge which was very convenient. Also the Carthusia toiletries were superb.

Great Stay

This hotel is considered a VIP hotel in the heart of Kuala Lampur. It is minutes away from the Petrona towers, and the KLCC. Lots of dining options available nearby and it is a generally lively area. The hotel staff is super friendly. Only negative is that their roll away beds are horrible. Those need an upgrade, it felt like the springs were poking you, as you slept on one of those.

The staff were very helpful, and when realising our flight was at midnight, we extended our stay for an extra day and the process was so easy (just a call to reception). the flights and early online check made the process a whole lot easier

KL MO live up to its reputation with an impressive property but the overall team graciousness and kindness exceeded my expectations. The location in the city center was perfect for walking or public transportation. The pool and spa facilities was well above average. Food was ample and delicious especially breakfast. Hotels that offer a club lounge is also a fantastic perk, one that we look for. Well worth it as a refuge from the crowds and convenient for food and beverages. From check in to check out we had a great experience!

A beautiful hotel in Kuala Lumpur located next to the enormous Suria shopping mall and the Petronas Towers. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. The staff is very helpful and courteous.

This classic style never disappoints. The staff is actively looking after guests. Only weird thing is we were three guests and we got two complimentary drinks on the host. I'd rather had none or three (nothing in between). Anything else was exceptional and memorable. Thank you everybody for such a good team effort!

What a lovely property, and such genuine and friendly staff, top to bottom! Everyone was so helpful and friendly, and willing to share their time and expertise with us. If you're looking for a superior property with outstanding service and people, this is the place in KL.
