Older hotel. Clean but in need of upgrades. Higher cost for lower quality. Cannot recommend and will shop around next time.
Different Twist Pretzel
Stay there every year i am in town for St Clair Riverfest.
Mixed review
Great location, but beds were rock hard. Other clientele may be questionable at time.
The bedding was itching. We did not have slept well.
Great locally owned and operated hotel.
It was a great stay. Very clean rooms... breakfast room was a little dated, and I was disappointed by the lack of variety in the complementary breakfast, but overall, the experience was excellent.
Descent place to catch a nap.
Quaint little motel. Could use some updates and a softer mattress, but very clean, and quiet.
Adequate
Stayed there due to power outage. Was clean and OK. A bit noisy. Nice jacuzzi in this room.
Old and dirty. Beds uncomfortable and bad smell in room. Nice staff though.
Miserable.
Would never pay full price for this room
Hole above heater in the wall it ran constantly unless turned off . We plugged up the hole with a bath towel. For my 22 n wedding anniversary I was hoping for perfection. Oh well at least the room was clean
Main Inn & Suites
Staff is the greatest, friendly and helpful, and treat people well. Hotel is very good value, fair price, clean and well kept. Older hotel recently refurbished, nice location if you are visiting in downtown. For a low budget stay it is a great value, especially if you want to be close to downtown activity.
Nice location, plastic pillow covers gotta go
Check in and out was fine. Mattress was comfortable, water was hot and had strong pressure. Room was clean. Price was nice. So all basics were met. However... I had to plug in 2 of 3 lamps in the room, which may sound easy but required moving bed and crawling under table (and finding that only 1 of 2 sockets under table was functional). Breakfast was poor -- please at least remove bread from the bags so guests do not have to paw into the bag. And finally, I have slept in many hotels, from high end to low, but this was the first that encased the pillows (and mattresses) in PLASTIC. Yes, there were fabric cases over the plastic, but they would slide off, and the "crunch" of plastic was always present. Even with the fabric outer covers, the pillows didn't "breathe" properly and became too warm. Management, there has to be a better solution.
Good, clean hotel in a good location.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. It appears to have been updated recently.
Great location for the town
Older hotel could use some updates but overall nice clean room. Great location, good prices.
Port Huron
Stayed one night. Spent little time in hotel. Friendly staff.
Don't judge a book by its cover
The room was impeccably clean, with a refrigerator and microwave. The beds were relatively comfortable. The parking lot and exterior of the motel leave a lot to be desired and I was worried our room would reflect the way those looked. The hallway too could use a good scrubbing, as it wasn't carpet you would want to walk on with bare feet. But, once we got in the actual room, I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk clerk was very pleasant.
good location
Walking distance to restaurants very clean friendly staff
Really enjoyed it here, great location and the price point was spot on ☺
mirrors on ceiling nice touch.
The hotel was nicer than i thought when pulling up, room was clean except housekeeper forgot to empty and clean coffee pot but all in all good .mirrors on ceiling was a nice touch.
My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. I knew nothing about this hotel except for what I saw on-line. With fingers crossed we headed to Port Huron. Main Street is an older lodge but has been completely remodeled and is kept Super Clean! The staff was friendly and recommended local shops to fit what we were looking for. Their prices were perfect for us. This place may not be for everyone but they exceeded my expectations by far! We definitely will be back. Thank You again Main Street Lodge! :)
Awesome little hotel
What a great little hotel. Clean rooms and great service
Black feet and a hard mattress
As soon as we arrived, we made the mistake of letting our 17-month old son run around barefoot in the room. An hour later, the soles of his feet were black. The staff was very apologetic, and steam cleaned the carpet the next day. Also, the mattress was very hard. My wife ended up sleeping on the couch because the bed hurt her back. The continental breakfast was quite spartan. There was bread, cereal, yogurt and cinnamon rolls. No bagels or fruit. The layout of the room was good: we needed a suite so our son could sleep separately from us. Nowhere else in Port Huron had suites available. If you must have a suite, this hotel is your best bet, but it isn't a terrific choice otherwise.
Nice downtown hotel, very clean.
Very good experience, came in for wife's class reunion and decided to stay over at the last minute. Got one of the last rooms and it was nice. Very large room.
Comfort and convenience in a quaint & picturesque town.
The room was clean, comfortable, roomy, and affordable. Wonderful sightseeing along the big river and another river which divides the town - all in under a 5 minute walk. The hockey arena is just across the street and several pubs (incl. microbrew), restaurants, and coffee shops are within 1-3 blocks. I walked about the streets late in the evening with no worries.
Old but clean
Hotel was clean and a/c worked. It is old a probably should be demolished and a new facility built. Was ok for the price.
No Jacuzzi Tubs! But otherwise, nice place!
Reserved a room with a jacuzzi tub, only to arrive and to find out they dont rent out the suites with tubs on hotel.com, and they 'always have this problem...front desk was very nice and gave me the lower standard room rate, but I'm obviously disappointed with hotels.com's listing; we chose the hotel specifically for the tub, so just beware before you book your room! Otherwise, hotel is fine, downtown location is walking distance to most everything, & we enjoyed our stay.
Needs to use guest name more.needs to inform the guest of what's included with the room.
Don't let the seedy appearance put you off.
The room was clean. The air conditioner was quiet. The bed was comfortable. Good value for the money.
Port Huron hotel
The room was clean and comfortable. Nothing special or extraordinary.
good choice for affordable no frills lodging
The hotel is old but recently updated. It does a good job of offering no frills lodging at a good price. If you want amenities this place is not for you. If you want clean quiet comfortable it is a good choice.
Good value for the $
If you are looking for a place to sleep and not spend your entire day in this is a little rough around the edges but was clean and comfy. Pillows are covered in plastic and a bit hard to sleep on but ;ok. No sports channels..on tv or elevator to 2nd floor.
Ok basic accommodations
Good location with lots of restaurants within walking distance. The recently renovated property had some issues with a very noisy air conditioner in room 216. The renovation is okay but there are some things that seem to have been done cheaply and are reminiscent of an older budget hotel.
Smelled of Smoke
Nobody manning the desk at check in waited 10 minutes. No apology provided. Rooms were cleary marked no smoking but smelled of smoke. Very dated, spartan accomdations.
Nice hotel. Walking to the river and shops.
The young man at the counter was very nice and pleasant and helpful.would stay there again. But hotel was full and plumping was very week in the morning. n
clean room for a good price
Ok hotel, close to river
Hotel was very dated, although owners had only owned it about a year, bedding was clean but old, room still smelled of smoke. Spoke to owner, very nice seems interested in improving hotel.
Pretty good..
Perfect location. Deadbolt didn't work. Room was comfortable and roomy. Breakfast pretty good. Fine for the price.
Great value!
Have traveled to many of the vacation sites along the west & east coasts of Michigan. Can't find this kind of value anywhere. Very clean room with a jetted tub. Location was good. Right in downtown area and only 10-15 minute drive to the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful with every request (extra towels & soap). Even made me coffee when up 2 hours before breakfast was served. Will definitely stay there again! Breakfast bar could use upgrade to include breakfast muffins/doughnuts and waffle maker. That would be in line with the rest of the outstanding grade this hotel deserves.
Wouldn't know. Over booked
Booked hotel, had confirmation s, got there to be told they had no rooms.
Stayed for 2 nights and the room was not cleaned the second night. Has to ask for clean towels. They stated they were short staffed and over booked. Breakfast was lame.
Clean, Convenient location, ...Inconsiderate staff
Purchased the room for visiting family friend, retired. He checked-in early and soon realized the reservation was on the 2nd floor. He asked for a 1st floor change but was denied. The facility was schedule to be full and no other rooms were available. (P.H. boat event weekend) Yet soo few guests were onsite / checked in, given it was early afternoon. A room swap would have gone completely unnoticed by any later arriving guest. The desk staff exercised a complete lack of consideration for a senior patron. The presence of an elevator would have mitigated the issue.
A bit of a throwback but overall a nice hotel.
Our reservation was not on file when we arrived but the guy at the front desk was very helpful and took care of us. The room was clean and spacious. The air conditioner worked great. Overall a good place to stay and a great rate.
very comfortable - clean for the money
great people on check in and out.. fresh and clean. nicer feeling than a highrise. walked to river front for a great evening.
Great for Price
Great for the price, rooms were clean and location is walking distance to great restaurants downtown. The staff as friendly & helpful.
Person at desk was sleeping when we got there. Irresponsible didn't know what he was doing
Loved the room and the convenience of the location
They gave our original reserved room away and had to put us somewhere else.
Old hotel.
Old hotel. The area is quite.
Very pleasant staff
