Zen-like walking paths with cenote swimming pool and lots of room options. Wonderful stay in a charming town!

A very quiet and peaceful large property. Beautiful pool area. It is all like a well-tended jungle, and all walkable to the Centro. A wonderful weekend getaway from work in Merida.

This is not the typical hotel. It's a beautiful space surrounded by the nature. No TV, but you don't need it. Attendants were super nice and helpful. My wife would have preferred to have more or bigger pillows, and I found the bed a little hard, but those small details didn't really affect our experience. It's located a bit outside main streets, but allowed us to walk around this beautiful town.

The hotel grounds are jungle like which was lovely and the pool is nice. The hotel itself feels run down. Breakfast was very slow and the food was ok, nothing great. We paid for two rooms with a king and a twin and one of the rooms we got had only one double bed. I asked about it and was told all the rooms cost the same and they could not accommodate my request despite having reserved it. One room had a mosquito net over the bed. The other room did not and there were a lot of mosquitos in the room at night. I’d recommend Convento hotel over this one. My friend stayed there and it was better overall.

everything was correct except the piscine which is poor

Classic old hacienda with nice grounds, but the room was basic, no hot water. Good full breakfast was great. The town was scenic and the climb up the pyramid was great.

first room had swirling bugs and we were bitten by mosquitoes. The staff gave us another room and it was good. Very little hot water in the shower; barely enough for one shower. Next morning no hot water. excellent breakfast and staff tried hard to look after us the setting is like a jungle though the landscaping is very well looked after

Very unique and interesting property

Izamal is a lovely town and we really enjoyed our stay at Macon Che. We would have stayed longer if we hadn't had committments elsewhere. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

Very Pleasant Hotel

My family stayed at Macan Che after Christmas and had a lovely experience. The family room is very big and the bathroom was a good size as well. We felt very safe and thought that the breakfast was wonderful. We really liked the intimacy of the hotel. The hotel staff were very sweet and made our stay great. The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable but we would definitely stay there again. The pool could use a cleaning too, but again, it would not deter us from staying there. The staff was attentive and took care of any issues that came up. Thanks for the great stay!!

Beautiful hotel with an amazing cenote-like pool!

We had a wonderful time at Macan Che. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and wonderful. Breakfast each morning was delicious, our room was great, and the pool/hammock area was absolutely perfect! We had our 14-month-old with us and they provided a crib for her (so we didn't have to bring one on the plane!) and all the staff loved interacting with her as she stomped around the property.

Great place

If you want a real Mexican experience this is the place for you. Helpful folks, quiet, nice pool, good food. In a neighborhood but easy walk to the plaza. Definitely would stay again.

Relaxing and very good food !

Amazing place ! Very relaxing... I felt like in the middle of the jungle, yet located few minutes walk from Izamal center. We stayed in a huge bungalow nicely furnished and we had a breakfast and lunch (only BF was included). The staff was extremely friendly and you can feel they are details oriented... whether it's the decoration, the pool shaped like a cenote or the cooking made according to your wish (apparently the owner was a french cooker and left some recipes such as Nutella Crepes - mmh awesome- ).

Meh. It's a beautiful property but it hardly functions as a hotel. You constantly have the impression that you stumbled upon your uncle's farm while they were not expecting guests. It has an odd vibe and truly minimal services. No wifi in the rooms. Don't expect the staff to be very proactive with anything.

My favorite place

This is one of my favorite places in the world. The casitas are nestled in a garden/jungle. The rock bottom pool is refreshing after a day out in Izamal. The food is the best in the Yucatán. I love this place.

Private, lush, friendly

Super friendly folks in a laid-back, comfortable group of thoughtfully appointed cabins. We loved this place.

Wonderful place to relax

We only had one night in Izamal, would have enjoyed more. Our "cabin" was clean, convenient and comfortable. The grounds are extensive, and the most attractive we saw in the Yucatan. The ladies fell in love with the cats. With a good breakfast included, we thought the value for money by far the best we achieved in the Yucatan.

Beautiful place

Beautiful property, gardens and accommodation meticulously maintained. Real old world charm with mod-cons (a/c and proper hot water!). Super friendly team, a great free breakfast... perfect for one night as a stopover or several days to really unwind. And EXCELLENT value for money. Thanks guys!

Unexpected Treasure

I lost my heart to Izamal - it is this beautiful little town with amazing ruins and a sacred site worthy of pilgrimage (John Paul II fought so!) and great local artisans and seriously great food!!! But it is the people that endeared me the most. And Machen Che was awesome - a truly beautiful setting run by some of the genuinely friendliest people you'll ever meet!

Hidden Jewel

Tucked away in a lovely jungle setting, individual cabanas spaced far enough apart for privacy. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the morning full breakfast was excellent. We didn't have a car but found that it was an easy walk from the bus station to the hotel. In fact the whole town is easily negotiated by foot.

small town out side Merida, near Chichen Itza and other ruins...take horse carriage ride around town...Manager, Miguel speaks English...Small individual cabinas...clean rooms ( AC but mosquito nets if you leave the windows open)...friendly staff and basic Mexican food... You need a car...2.5 hours from Cancun airport...protected parking lot...Away from glitz of Cancun and Maya riveria...real Mexico so some Spanish helps.

Izamal Heaven retreat in bungalow

Very large bungalow - the safari - for family of 5, very clean. Some fixing requiered like the bathroom door. Great swimming pool, with hamac hut to rest. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. About 15 min walk to Izamal Plaza Central. Some friendly garden visitors (ants)

Hidden Garden

You arrive at the hotel from the street at a door in a garden wall. When you go through the door, you enter a lovely tropical garden. The rooms are dotted about the grounds. The rooms are comfortable clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. The restaurant also offers evening meals and the quality was very good. In the morning we woke up to birdsong.

Relaxing Stay in Hotel with Great Garden

The hotel grounds were overflowing with lush jungle greenery. The Vietnamese coffee wasn't too bad. The breakfast was pretty good. If you want a fancy place with wifi in your room, this is not it. If you want to relax and feel like you're a million miles from home, then this is it.

Belle adresse et magnifique jardin

Un séjour, court, mais très agréable à Macan Ché. Le jardin est superbe, le lieu très chouette. Les chambres confortables et grandes. Très grande salle de bain, tout était propre et petit déj copieux et varié sous forme de buffet. Une très bonne adresse pour visiter Izamal. Le centre-ville est suffisamment loin pour que ce soit calme et suffisamment proche pour y aller à pied sans problème. Petit bémol, une moustiquaire trouée au niveau d'une fenêtre et la poubelle des toilettes pas entièrement vidée à notre arrivée.

Nos gusto el lugar, te desconecta de todo, la atencion de lo mejor, la comida nos encanto, es sin duda un lugar mágico que nos conecta con la naturaleza.

No hay control de quién puede acceder al lugar, está en lugar alejado de servicios. Las habitaciones y mobiliario en mal estado. Los dueños y el personal no te apoyan si necesitas algo, parece que están muy ocupados en asuntos personales y se molestan si los distraes para solitar algo.

Muy tranquilo, mucho contacto con la naturaleza y el desayuno rico y puntual. Nadie te molesta, fui a descansar y descansé como no lo había hecho en años.

Nos gustó mucho lo respetuoso con el medio, está muy arbolado y fresco y muy bonito. Solamente la regadera de uno de los cuartos salía muy mal el agua y era casi imposible regular la temperatura, o quemaba o estaba fría, por lo demás todo muy bien

Hotel típico y original, personal muy amable

Es muy bonito que tenga áreas verdes mucha área verde, no me gusto que por estar tan en la naturaleza me salio un alacrán. Además no me quieren facturar, desconozco si ustedes como expedia ya avisaron que es por nueva ley fiscal los hoteles deben facturar a los clientes. Ojala puedan avisar para que me realicen la factura, de hecho a todos los hoteles de Yucatán por que me paso lo mismo en las otras dos ciudades que visite. Espero me puedan apoyar, Saludos

Con muchas áreas de oportunidad

La ubicación del hotel es buena , sin embargo se nota que están trabajando en su mejora , algo que nos desagradó es que en el baño de la habitación no encontramos los básicos , shampoo , crema corporal , las toallas de pésima calidad y muy recicladas y toallas o jabón para el cuerpo muy corriente “Rosa Venus “ , también considero que deberían tener personal en recepción que dómine el español , ya que no todos los que nos hospedamos somos extranjeros , en general se notan las áreas de oportunidad

Publicidad algo engañosa

Dejo mucho que desear. Primero no hay estacionamiento . Más limpieza d iluminación . No tiene servicio de bebidas . Ni cómida . Poca iluminación y no aceptan tarjetas . Deberían decirlo en la aplicación . Muchos moscos . La alberca estaba bien pero muy poca iluminación . Le falta . El gerente muy amable . Del resto no regresaría . Por último no tenía mucho alcance el internet . .

Place incroyable à un coût très bas! la piscine semble avoir été faite dans un cenote, WOW. Et le déjeuner avec les fruits suivi d'une assiette choix par la suite était très bien. je recommande fortement

Hotel très simple mais beau jardin

Des petits bungalows très simple dans un jardin luxuriant avec piscine (non testée). Aucun débit d'eau dans la douche. pas de wifi dans les chambres, uniquement à la reception. Petit dej compris simple mais bon. parking en face de l'hotel.

Bien pour une nuit. Il ne faut pas être trop regardant. Accueil sympa.

Es un oasis, lleno de vegetación, hermoso, cerca del centro.

Nette, familiäre Anlage mit Garten und kleinem Pool, die Zimmer sind alle Cabañas. Wir hatten gleich die erste Cabaña in der Nähe des Restaurants, geräumig, sauber und ruhig, mit kleiner Küche, aber ohne Utensilien zum Kochen. Sehr gutes Frühstück im Preis enthalten. Das Kloster und die Pyramide sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Nicht die Pferdekutschen benutzen; die armen Pferde arbeiten den ganzen Tag in der Hitze. Zu Fuß gehen ideemos Auto/Taxi fahren.

el hotel está agradable y buen servicio. La cama, el colchon con bolas. y el cuarto de baño no tiene puerta, para el wc sólo hay una divisiòn. Es incòmodo

Preis-Leistung ist in Ordnung. Viele Mücken. Zum relaxen gut, wen die Mücken nicht stören.

En general todo estuvo bien. El hotel está muy limpio y hay una buena atención de sus colaboradores. El hotel en si, está descuidado, pero es acorde a la tarifa por noche, así que nada que decir. A unas cuantas cuadras nos podemos desplazar con facilidad caminando, para llegar al zócalo.

Agradable lugar

Es un lindo hotel, pequeño pero con lo necesario, el personal muy amable como en todo Yucatan, desayuno bien servido, sencillo pero rico, jugo y fruta de temporada, café té o chocolate, mermelada pan y huevos al gusto. Por el Diseño de las habitaciones los baños no tienen puerta, lo q puede resultar un poco incómodo para algunos. Es cómodo para una estancia corta, la limpieza puede mejorar pero en general bien. Aunque no está en las principales calles del centro, puedes llegar caminando.

De jolies cases dans un environnement très "jungle" à 2 blocs du centre. L'entourage n'inspire pas confiance, mais nous n'avons eu aucun souci. La salle de bain n'a pas de porte, idem WC, juste une séparation La piscine est froide mais très originale, elle merite le coup d'oeil. Attention aux moustiques! Une invasion!

Muy bonito

El hotel está muy bonito, rodeado de vegetación en un área muy tranquila. El desayuno incluído está muy completo y el servicio del personal es excelente. La alberca muy bonita. El único detalle fue que la bañera en la habitación nunca pudimos llenarla ya que sale muy poquita agua pero aún así mi hija lo disfrutó mucho.

Muy agradable, excelente que acepten mascotas, desayuno muy rico y sustancioso, el único detalle es que le hace falta la puerta del baño. El personal atento, en general muy bien.

Hotel diferente

Me gustó el concepto del hotel, aunque las instalaciones ya están algo anticuadas, las fotos no son tan representativas del lugar.

Hotel bonito con vegetación agradable , le falta mantenimiento , mobiliario viejo, no muy limpio,,en el cuarto salieron dos cucarachas muy desagradables. Lo mejor es su personal amable y con deseos de atender lo mejor posible .

Hotel muy agradable de descanso recomendable

Un hotel muy cómodo, limpio ,ideal para unas vacaciones tranquilas y buen lugar para visitar pirámides y muy buena gastronomía yucateca .

Hôtel bien placé mais très mal entretenu dans un mauvais état. A l'arrivée ils ne nous ont pas signalé que l'appareil à CB ne fonctionnait pas et ont réclamé un paiement en espèces.

Kleine Oase

Schöne Unterkunft mitten in Izamal. Die Anlage ist wie eine kleine Oase. Überall wunderbare Pflanzen, alles sehr liebevoll angelegt. Wir hatten für eine Nacht die Familiensuite und waren begeistert von dem geräumigen Zimmer. Alles sehr gepflegt und sauber.

Wunderschönen tropischen Garten. Restaurant sehr angenehm mit leckerem Essen

Verstecktes kleines Paradies

Nettes kleines Hotel. Lage OK, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Restaurant ist vorhanden, das Essen muss aber vorbestellt werden. wlan gibt es nur im zentralen Aufenthaltsbereich.

Hotel mit tollem Charme. Sehr freundlich. Umgebung sehr arm. Hotelanlage toll gemütlich. Gutes Frühstück.

Das Hotel ist sehr rustikal und der Garten ist schön gestaltet, der Pool war jedoch kalt.

Gutes Hotel 10-15mn vom Zentrum, guter Preis

Wir hatten 2 Junior Suiten für 3 Personen, nächstes Mal buche ich ein Hauschen nah zur Rezeption, sie haben nähmlich mehrere zweistöckike Häuschen. Gebucht war nur ein, aber da unsere Tochter uns begleiten wollte, könnten wir direkt kurzfristig direkt die 2. Suite buchen. Wir sind um 1 Uhr morgens angekommen, der Nachtwache hat uns mit dem Gepäck netterweise geholfen, aber beim ausschecken um 6:00 morgens hat er die Bemerkung gemacht, dass er eigentlich nicht für das Gepäck zuständig ist, er hat es aber trotzdem gemacht, mit dem Trinkgeld war er happy, da waren wir sehr froh, da diese Anlage relativ gross ist, wo ich mich zu Beginn oft verlaufen habe, da unsere Zimmer am anderen Ende der Anlage war und der Weg mit Kies bedeckt ist. Es gibt kein Haartrockner im Zimmer, der erste Mann an der Rezeption schlag uns vor eins in der Stadt zu kaufen, nach meiner Bitte uns zu helfen und eins zu organisieren, gelang es ihm nicht. Am nächsten Tag Miguel von der Rezeption half uns ohne zu zögern, indem er herumtelefonierte und fand jemanden, der uns eins auslieh. Es gelang Miguel mit viel Engagement und Gutwille, ein Grosses Bravo und danke schön an Miguel!! Am telefon antworten sie einem sehr geduldig die Fragen.

Très joli mais chambres décevantes

Très joli hôtel situé à quelques rues du centre d'Izamal. Le lobby est absolument charmant, le jardin et la piscine. Très agréables. Dommage que les chambres ne suivent pas.... Elles sont mal entretenues et très très sombres. Petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux
