Spacious

Lots of activities to do there, nice swimming pools and plenty of food options. Unfortunately the lazy pool was closed. Food is convenient to eat but pricey. Complimentary breakfast has lots of food options but challenging to walk a far distance and a bit hot as it is outdoors. Walking to the beach is also a bit far compared to other hotels, about 200+ meters. Beach has convenient shower areas and toilets. Room has stairs which are challenging to walk up for expecting mothers. Outdoor elevator to the room sometimes does not work.

@ Road signs--not clear enough to show direction of rooms or block. @ Shelter-during raining shelters are not link from block to block. @ Handicap-not convenient for Handicap. Paveway are not convenient for wheelchair bound especially raining time. Shelter pathways are not link. Halfway, need to move into open to reach next block. @ Lift-only designated blocks got lift. So need go to that block to go up to the floor & U-turn back to block where he/she is staying. Again for handicap, due to some blocks got no life is inconvenient. @Room-looks old. Housekeeping in rooms on bedsheet folding don't looks professional- not fully properly or fully folded.

Bathroom very bad water not draining and wash bash also the same bath tup drain plug not working aircon also not so effective.

Other than the musty smell of the rooms, our stay was great! Beach is clean. Many food options. Buffet breakfast was sumptuous!

Shower could use non slip mat. The existing is not safe, check the top steps in G105. Hope my lost items turn up. Check bus E3 on Saturday’s event.

Quite safe and quiet environment

We get to stay at newly renovated room, which is modern n clean. We love the in house water park and the many activities the resort put together. It will be great if the beach front is cleaner.

Suitable for family

Room is spacious but a quite old. Breakfast spread was good, suitable for family with young children.

Good place for family as there are activities for all ages. However, housekeeping does not come in everyday. Cleanliness can be improved. One of the air con is not working and nothing was done after we informed the management.

Inconvenience place to travel around....

It's a self contained resort. Rooms are big and clean. Plenty of activities, ie; water sports, archery, paintball, gym, pool tables, PS room...... There are 3 restaurants, convenient store and cafe for your daily needs. Good breakfast spread with ample seatings. The best thing is the service and friendly staff!

Review of family vacation at Lotus Resort Desaru

Good experience. The check in took longer than I liked but it's not too big a deal. The first lift was a bit confusing as we went to the wrong floor and had to take the stairs. Rooms were spacious and clean. Not the newest of conditions. Couple of aircons were not working perfectly. You had to manually open the louver as they remained shut even after turning the aircon on. Whenever my kids showered at the common bathroom, the water will flow out of the shower area and flood the floor of the bathroom, due to the odd placements of two gaps in the tiles. My eldest had to resort to blocking the gaps with her beach toys to stop the water from flowing out. Restaurants were nice. Food was good. Pricing was ok. Pretty much resort kinda pricing. Our family tried the seasports on our 3rd day there. Nice experience but felt a bit rushed by the crew. Perhaps they had to quickly turnover the equipments to cater for other guests. Overall, will I stay there again? Yes. Is it a place that I must visit again? No

Impressive Resort

Excellent place for a family vacation. Lots of facilities and activities. The room is big and spacious.

The unit was super clean and services was very good.

Pls check the elevator for block J . lift does not seem to work right about 9pm onwards. Everything besides that is all great. Food at Teratai cafe , lotus spices , seafood reatirant all amazing. Price of food is also cheapest among all other hotel in Desaru. I can honestly say, we really enjoy the food. BREAKFAST ,for RM 30 a person is seriously worth it.. Splash park was okay but for the childrens area , i find the play slides is a bit to steep. Also if the hotel is not so crowded, it will be best if we can be placed to a lower floor . Just sharing honest opinion. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. PS : my son calls the Lotus Desaru Resort as the Princess Peach Castle , Mushroom Kingdom . If can have some mari theme room , it will be really great. Will visit again in the future . Cheers team lotus !

Short staycation. Perfect ..

Don’t boil water frm tap water!!!

This property is extremely pathetic. Its zero star. Very dirty, outdated, bad room, bad evevator, horrible restaurants and looks like a temporary construction and we got food poisioning.. The new year celebrations was pathetic. When enquired, we got to know 11 more guests got food poisioning and local authotiries are investigating.

The ambience was good, things happening at the lobby area and yet quiet at the apartment area. The staffs were polite and attended to your requests fast. I can see updates of some of the furniture in the apartment. We are also very happy to have engaged the transport service by the concierge, friendly, punctual, safe and clean vehicle. Just a suggestion, although it is generally clean -from bed to floor and toilet, however a little more attention to the dust in the apartment will be good. Also, it is a little disappointing that some of the activities listed by the resort is no longer available.

Our little short getaway with Lotus Desaru

The stay was pleasant. The staff was friendly. But I'm unsure if it was due to the festive season; the housekeeping missed cleaning our room the last day we were there. It was raining heavily those days, and we noticed water seeping from the walls. Otherwise, all is good. Value for money. I will still return again.

Nightmare. My family, 2 adults and 2 children, have either stomach flu or food poisoning, we had stomach cramps and vomitted many times during and after our stay. We think it's probably because of the dirty swimming pool water (and also splash park), or because of the food.

Quite, very spacious & easy to walk around the resort

Went during the shoulder season. Resort is big with many activities. But the amounts of rooms is huge and could be very packed and busy during the peak season.

Everything was good. Definitely will come again!

Smiling "Lotus"

Friendly staff always showing smiling faces, furnitures a bit dated though but the room is clean and spacious, will definitely visit again.

Housekeeping is lacking. From sm til late pm. Room still not clean up. No toilet rolls. No topping up of amenities No tissue in room But Restaurant in estate is nice n reasonable. Housekeeping need a lot of improvement

For a family outing to remember…

On the whole, my family and I (10 of us altogether) enjoyed our stay because the resort’s plus points (e.g. the prompt and friendly front desk staff, the wide variety of activities on offer, and the prompt and efficient clearing of the tables in the restaurant despite the big crowds) outweighed its negative points which were as follows: - my granddaughters reported that there were some flies (or other insects) floating in the water of the waterpark pool. The water there also appeared dirty. The water in the pool near the gum was a lot cleaner. - my daughter told me she found a cockroach in her suite. - the food my daughter ordered-in was underwhelming.

good facilities and game area for adults and children. noting to complain about. overall good place to relax and recharge.

The experience was horrible!! On our 1st day there, on the way to the room, we took the lift which halted midway and when the doors opened, the lift was not levelling!! There were 6 adults and a baby in the lift at that time and we could have gotten injured. It’s quite clear that the maintenance is not done properly. There was another group who also experienced the same thing and pressed on the emergency button near the emergency phone but no one turned up!!! The lights along the pathway also did not turn on until after 7-8pm despite it being so dark and quiet. The shampoo container and bidet in the common bathroom were not properly secured and were loose. The common bathroom drainage also had issues, bath water did not go down and it kept choking. Breakfast was the only good thing about this place. I would definitely not go back to this place nor recommended it to my family and friends. For SGD300 a night, a much better experience was expected.

Pleasant Stay

This was my second trip to Lotus. First trip was one night stay. This trip i stayed 3 nights. Breakfast was good and not changes. There are a lot of Parking lots available - Park at lobby during check-in/check-out and when you have the access key, drive next to your block. No hassle driving in and out as i have been going out to local attraction daily. Furnitures are a bit old but usable.

Water heater for the master bedroom not working.

The resort is not so far from my home country.

Room is big and spacious for 7 people. However we find that the pillows are too soft. Even when you stack 2 pillows it is still flat. therefore can't get a goodnight sleep. Hope the management will improve on the pillow quality.

stayed on 31st Dec. on 1st jan once we are back in Singapore, 15 out of 21 suffered vomiting and diarrhea which shows clear food poisoning. All rushed to emergency hospital at midnight. Food were very unhygienic Very dirty water in swimming pool

Not too bad for a 2D1N stay. Had a fun time counting down to 2023. Customer service was good too.

Beat resort in Desaru

The hotel location and facilities is fantastic. You can enjoy water park, beach activity and dining without stepping out from the hotel. The front reception and all hotel staffs service was very good. Room was specious and clean. Highly recommended especially for family!!!

The lotus had a nice beach, which is why people go to desaru, the beach. But it was closed half the time. We also thought there was mould in the room but realized at the end our noses were bothered by an inch of dust and cigarette butts under the bed. House keeping never came. The stairs also weren’t safe for children. I had a hard time walking down them. My daughter took a fall and scraped herself up.

The water park on site is good for young children. Rooms were ok but toilet smelled badly of urine. Food at breakfast is bad. Rates are cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

We booked on the very day hours before check in but there wasn’t any hiccups; hotel has our booking in order. Check in was smooth. The 2-bedroom we got fits the family. It is not super fancy but clean and cosy. The hotel has direct access to the beach. Facilities: they have 2 separate pools area; deep pool is a good size for proper swim. The splash pool is more suitable for families with younger kids. Gym has quite complete equipments - my son has the gym all to himself! Simple amenities provided such as dispensable bodywash/shampoo, toothbrush/toothpaste, cotton buds and towel. Activities: there we many within the property; karaoke room, table tennis, paintball, gaming, pool table, sea sport - all chargeable. Areas of improvement: the beds were okok, pillows were too soft, put more cutleries. Overall I would recommend this property for big families, and will not hesitate to return if we are heading to Desaru again.

Good short break at Lotus Hotel

Just a regular hotel but reasonably priced with spacious room. I booked the 2 bedroom Suite that comes with 2 bathrooms. Generally ok but maintenance / cleanliness (floor has sand) a little lacking. Breakfast is simple but is tasty and more than sufficient. Hotel has good location - at the beach and near to town.

Good working staff and services. Feels safe and practical.

Plenty of carpark spaces. Friendly, helpful and very sincere staffs. Security patrols were seen frequent, that Is a good sign.

Family long weekend stay

Overall the resort has a lot to offer, good restaurants and a wonderful family vibe. There are plenty of activities for people of all ages, water sports (jet ski, para sailing and banana rides), games area, and kids play area. Breakfast was very local cuisine however the quality was quite poor and the queues were quite long. The worst part of the stay was the actual cleanliness of the room, we stayed for 3 nights, on arrival the room had not been cleaned, the floor was very dirty. Each day we had to call late in the day to get the room serviced. The resort is quite dated however it does have a great atmosphere.

overall staying at this hotel was so great except i lost my shoes bag with shoe n slipper inside after the room cleanning.. try to call the housekeeping due to communication was so bad (cannot spek english) with the maid and during check out we need to wait again another half hour just to double confirm but still no body not admitted taking my shoes bag...

we have booked 2 suite but they insist only one suite and keep us waiting even though we provide them adequate documents, it takes a long time only they admit their mistake and arrange us 2 suite. we called and booked 2 suite under one name but they separate us far apart with different floors. it is not a nice experience during check in but overall stay in the hotel is comfortable.

Good stay. Staff friendly. Meals great. Able to do water sports. Enjoyed the CNY activities including fireworks. Facilities are older. Water park good fun but would be better if the slides were better maintained.

Lack Of Lamp.

Thanks for gave me free 1 upgrade bedroom. Everything is okay but lack of lamp especially at dining hall and master bedroom. At balcony also lamp not function.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious for family of 5. The kids really enjoyed the stay.

Shuttle service to and from Desaru coast would be great

It’s was good. Hotel and rooms are quite spacious. Water park was bit of not expected and lot of local crowd there make it worst. Breakfast was okay okay.

A good holiday and suitable location for family trip

The only problem to stay in this hotel is cannot call Grab, but you can ask hotel concierge to call cab for you, a bit pricy but that's the only way to move around. Overall is good, staff are helpful and friendly.

Complete with theme park n near to beach.. Good place for family with children but quite a distance from room to breakfast terrace. Not that suitable for the elderly, even though the hotel provide buggy service but we waited for almost half an hour to get one (called before we went down).. Receptionist who attended to me for room extension stay was quite slow n looks like not properly well trained..

Overall is okey but few activities in under maintenance such lazy river & sea. We cant play at the sea. So disappointed. It should be my main purpose go there. The food also cant acceptable & the variety of food like WARUNG.. thanksss

Expedia and hotel never communicate and informed about bed preference. Requested for 2 single beds but was not available.

The maintenance fixed a door just outside our room at 8.10am, which we were still sleeping. Has feedback to reception that they should not fix something outside or near to the guest room and not during early in the morning.

Very enjoyable resort for family

The hotel is very well maintained considering it's been around for years. The room is clean and everything is functional. Staffs are friendly and responsive. The hotel is filled with fun amenities, including swimming pools with water slide known as Lazy River, a simple gym, a simple fun fair, a retail shop etc. My kids spent half a day just hanging out at the pool and Lazy River. Its Teratai Cafe and Seafood Restaurant offer good selection of western, Indian and Chinese cuisines, and yummy too! To my positive surprise, the menu is very affordable considering this is a resort and there's not many options in the vicinity of Desaru. A beer hut by the beach where adults can chill out at night, what more can we ask for! We enjoyed every minute at the resort!

Although it is an old premises, the management strive to keep the place through upgrading of the room. Been here annually and has never regret it. Now they have in room wifi. The staff are generally provide great services. Definitely will come back.

Acceptable short stay with family

Spacious 3 bedroom suite. Nice western ala carte at Cafe. Recommend old fashion chicken chop and grilled salmon. Rooms acceptable though not top notch. Generally clean. Offers combination of swimming pool, gym and beach.

Nice stay but can be better

Overall was good. But they should have clearer indication where the reception is (was shifted to the clubhouse) and should have catered cloth hangars for customers staying there.

Overall, we found this place to live up to its name & claim. Definitely a must go again. The only problem was reasonably priced transportation to & fro....

Overall the resort was nice. However, the following need improving : 1. Front Desk : Long time for check-in & check-out. Staff didn't explain how to get to the room. Rooms numbering very confusing. Thankfully the Housekeeping staff helped us. 2. The resort looks old from the outside & so is the room furnishings. 3. Parking was difficult as too many 4WD taking up the parking lots. Plus point : Good facilities. Children pool area was great with ample life guards. The breakfast was superb. Credit to the chefs & staffs. Other staffs was polite & helpful.

Not as expected

Family of 5 having a 3days 2nights stay . The room is more like a flat then hotel suite . One of the bed can even feel the spring poking . The compressor outside the room is so noisy that my hubby can’t even sleep well , water pressure for shower is so small that we have to take longer time . Most important things for my families is the food there is not like wat it’s reviews , I can say is below average or lower . During our breakfast, lunch dinner time is accompanied by houseflies...

The staff were extremely friendly. Facility feels a bit dated, however, it was very clean and there are lots of options for eating.
