Room size is ok, quite old, bathroom towels are very old and yellow, not comfortable to use
This hotel boasts an unbeatable location, just 5-6 minutes walk to many must-visit attractions. Plenty of restaurants nearby to pick from. Initially, we were assigned a very small room with an exceptionally tiny standing shower. However, the staff kindly accommodated us by switching to a much better room with a view of Batalha Square. The staff is friendly and attentive and the breakfast spread is very good. Housekeeping does a great job of cleaning up the room everyday. We really enjoyed our stay with them.
Mediocre
The stay was fine. Parking was deceptive it was a walk away from the hotel entrance and had to pay. We were given a suggestion for a restaurant for dinner and could not find it. When we found it, it was closed. Neighborhood was a little sketchy but it was pretty central. Room was tiny balcony felt super unsafe and the bathroom was very poorly designed leaving barely any room to use the toilet. It was almost under the sink. No toiletries to use either.
Fue un poco ruidoso domingo por la mañana, pero por lo demás todo muy bien
Centrally located, walking distance to many restaurants and the main shopping district. Pricey for our stay, maybe because it was a holiday weekend. No parking on site but can park underneath IBIS hotel and grocery store for $12 Euro a day.
good and worth for price.
This was a lovely hotel with comfortable, clean rooms. It was centrally located. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent place to stay. Walkable to everything. Parking lot was nearby at batalha. Food options and great wine next door. Would definitely stay here again
The Legendary is well situated in Praça da Batalha very close to the main shopping street in Porto (Rua Santa Catarina) and about 10min walk to Porto São Bento train station. It is close to many restaurants and cafés which are within walking distance (at most 10-15 min) of the hotel. The room itself was good size but the bathroom was almost an after thought. It was super cramped and the bathroom vanity had to be cut at an angle to allow the door to close properly! The door also grazed the toilet bowl so you had to stand awkwardly in the back corner between the toilet and vanity counter to be able to close the door from the inside. There is a tiny elevator that could barely fit two people with luggage but it was functional. There was no mini fridge in the room but there was space in the lobby fridge which is behind the front desk (inconvenient if you have items to keep cold). In general I think this hotel is in need of a room update but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
Walking distance to Ribeira and other sites. Great staff.
Fantastic location!
Excellent location very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again next time I am in Porto.
Room was much smaller than expected or advertised. Difficult to find a place for 2 luggage
Location and short walking distance to the center.
Very nice hotel with a fantastic breakfast and excellent, friendly and helpful staff, in a nice location. Nothing to dislike at all.
Everything was great
Room seemed to need some extra cleaning of floor, couch, etc Staff was excellent and informative
3 night stay. Good location.
Good location. Great breakfast.
Great location. Room was large but needed some work.Little noisy at night. Staff was good but not quite the warm feeling you get from a smaller hotel. Breakfast in the morning was ok but not great.
The beds were uncomfortable and the rooms cramped and basic but everything else was great!
Excellent location, very close to Sao Bento train & subway station
Loved how everything was walking distance from the property and the complimentary wine that was given as part of the stay
Location is in the middle of Porto with all points of touristic interests within reasonable walking distance (most within 10 minutes), including the train and metro stations. Room was spotless and cleaned daily. I had a single room which felt spacious enough, the view from room of the square in front was fantastic. Area was safe albeit a few homeless people around (I was traveling solo). I received a complimentary bottle of local red wine from the bar as an Expedia VIP member which I enjoyed during the 4 nights that I stayed there.
Great area. Good Hotel.
Great location and staff!
Room is very nice, clean and lot of spaces. Very beautiful view of the street. Hotel is very well situated. Elevator is very tiny. The breakfast is offered at a reasonable price.
This was a great hotel! Staff was very kind and helpful. Room was extremely clean. It’s in a very good area that was a 5min walk from Sao Bento train station and metro. Only problem is…it is a straight up hill walk to the hotel from the station. Other than that it was a perfect, quiet and safe location for us.
Its a great location from all shopping, and touristy locations. There are many eatery options also. Bus leaves you right in front of the hotel. Perfect location 👌
Very good breakfast. Suitable location.
Excellent hotel with a good breakfast. Breakfast staff was very nice. Gym was small, but sufficient.
Location is perfect
Great hotel
The Hotel and staff were excellent. Disappointed with the bus route links - none available outside the hotel to south of the river. Coming back after a day out was the most difficult as totally up-hill.
Pleasant stay and great location!
The third time we stayed at this hotel. Quick check-in and great service. Staff goes beyond in order to assist the guests. Great location, right next to Saint Idelfonso Church, many restaurants around the hotel, and next to Rua Santa Catarina. Clean and comfortable rooms. Thank you!
Close to any entertainment.
This hotel in a good location.
Great place for the money
Friendly, comfortable hotel
Breakfast is amazing! Staff is wonderful. Great recomendations for restaurants and sight seeing. Great location!
Great
Service, breakfast buffet was splendid, friendly staff and the hotel's location is perfect.
Room basic and Elevator very small Staff friendly Breakfast very good
Excellent location to see the best of Porto. The funicular from the river and the bridge are only about 300 yards away.
This hotel is in a wonderful location and was lucky to have a room with great views. The local architecture looks impressive day and night..Friendly and informative at Reception. I was here last year and had to return !
Mother/Daughter trip
The hotel was well located. Attractions and the river were a short walk. The hotel was clean and the front desk were very friendly.
Dingy Hotel needs an update And some friendly staf
After almost breaking my neck, walking into the hotel because of a step that is unmarked, and only 2 inches tall we proceeded to the front desk where we were greeted by a miserable teenager who is very unhelpful. The bathroom in the room that we stayed in which was $200 a night Was so small you had to stand on the toilet in order to close the bathroom door. There was a step up into the bathroom as well. That was so small. You also tripped staff was very unhelpful.
Noise from arguments in nearby rooms.
Lovely staff and location
Front desk staff was very helpful in answering my questions. Location is lovely
It was centrally located. The property did have its shortcomings like a big gap in the shower door that let water spill onto the floor, having said that it was clean and staff friendly
Basic room...Great breakfast.
The room was basic. The floor remained dirty throughout the stay as shown by the bottom of our feet each night. It was overpriced for the days we were there (200). The people that worked there were so nice and kind. I would stay again if the price was lower.
The hotel is in prime location to dining and shops very clean nice bar restaurant next door is great tea and coffee facilities small showers best location in Porto
Hotel staff friendly and extremely helpful
The hotel is in a great location and close to a lot of main attractions. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are lovely and friendly.
Lovely Stay
me and the 3 people i travelled with (all own rooms) had a great stay. the location and rooms were all excellent, would definitely recommend. some rooms have a balcony, i would reccomend
Convenient location for access to the train, restaurants and pharmacies with a good tour operator next door. The manager was at the reception when we were checking out and was pleasant and cheerful. The staff serving breakfast as well were courteous. Everyone else at the front desk was very unfriendly and noted first hand to be quite rude to another guest. The breakfast buffet daily was plentiful with various options and the highlight of the stay. The rooms are very noisy despite notices posted on the walls stating they were “quiet zones”. The door to the toilet did not open all the way, scraping and getting stuck on the floor. The commode is adjacent to the sink, mere millimeters between the two. Towels hang close to the commode from the sink and close to the bidet from the wall…something I find quite unhygienic, and utterly impractical. There is no exhaust in the bathroom so the humidity and mist lingers long after a shower. There was a couch in the room that put us off immediately, for all the visible stains on it. The curtains are not hooked properly and very dirty. Mold was noted in the bottom of the wall near the balcony door. Overall, we would not want to return to this hotel.

Older hotel nice staff. Room was small.
Clean and modern.
Great breakfast.. Room was sparse… not a picture on the wall.
It was close to everything and so many choices to choose from for restaurants.
I would recommend this hotel. The location was great. Walking distance from everything you want to see in Porto. The only reason I gave a 4 stars was because we didn’t get the room we booked the first night. They move us to a very nice room the following day. I would definitely return to this hotel. The breakfast buffet was really nice but a bit pricy if not included with the room.
Right in the middle of most of attractions. The cathedral for those who are religious, the famous Bridge to Villa Nova de Gaia for wine tasting, shopping area is around the hotel. Don't forget the food, restaurants at very reasonable prices are plenty are also within walking distances.
Hôtel propre mais chambre minuscule.
Hôtel propre mais chambre minuscule. Bien situé pour visiter à pied les principaux monuments et points d’intérêts .
Overall very overpriced for what it offered. Very old hotel, but ok. Room was quite small, and some times the bathroom was a bit smelly, but not particularly noticeable. Breakfast had a lot of choices, but I think it’s worth more going and exploring the city and all the cafes and boulangeries around. I think it is definitely expensive for the amentities it provides, but the location is solid, and maybe Porto is very touristic so it’s the demand that makes it expensive. Overall can’t complain about something being bad enough to ruin my experience. Room was very hot but there was AC that was working just fine. The stuff was overall OK, most of them were speaking good enough English to communicate. Overall, I give it 3 stars for the price and the quality of the services and the room, which is very basic.
Two days in Porto
First room, there was only about 12 inches clearance around the bed... not OK. Moved to a bit larger room. Overall hotel was clean, however observed that many fire extinguishers were undercharged. Notified front desk they called Maintenace immediately. Location was great so would return.
The breakfast was very good and the location was perfect to see old town and to get to Rio Douro.
This hotel has a great location - easy to walk to the river and to Metro stations. The breakfast was also quite nice. However, the service was uneven. i asked for an extra towel and was given a hard time (you're just one person, a small towel should be enough), and they had problems with the wake-up call system. On the other hand, the staff were helpful in giving directions.
Overpriced Not bad place, considering
Good location not so good parking
View from room was a construction site. Lots of scruffy people outside. Toilet in bathroom was in the way of the sink.
A nice hotel and friendly staff
Great location to explore the historic sites. Great staff. Great breakfast.Parking for 7E a few blocks away.
Great value for service!
Perfect setting for a lovely few days in Porto. Easy access to public transit
Pretty perfect Ended up staying an extra night due to flight cancellation and chose Legendary. Really great location for all sights and crossing the Dom Louis bridge. Rooms were spacious and clean with water available - no fridge but to be expected with 3star. Staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again
The hotel is right in the center of town. Walking distance to many restaurants, stores, and all attractions we wanted to go. It is very clean and has good breakfast. Like to commend the staff, especially. They are very friendly and helpful. We have a group of 12. Not all of us stayed in this hotel. We would need a place to store our luggage while we went to lunch and before our bus arrived. The staff was very nice that they offered a late check out and allowed us to store all our bags in my room. Highly recommended!
Good breakfast
Breakfast was excellent
Accessibility
The hotel is in the middle of everything! It is accessible near Bolhao station and less than 10 mins walk from San Bento station. The room is clean, very basic furnishings and bathroom. Highly recommended for people on the go.
Convenient location!
Great location, you can walk from the hotel to any place to visit, clean and secure.
Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Bathroom needs a bit deeper cleaning. Good location
Good location
Nice and clean hotel ,staff very nice and helpful ,can left suicase after check out .
Excellent stay
Excellent stay. Good breakfast. Pleasant staff. Central to everything
Central location under 10 mins walk from metro . Great staff across all areas very friendly and professional in their approach Rooms basic but clean and sufficient. Breakfast exactly what you’d expect from buffet offerings
Weekend trip
Friends weekend trip to Porto. Hotel is in a good location. Very clean. Helpful staff. But bar wasn't open on the friday or sunday
Centrally located, great breakfast, quiet and clean rooms. I had to switch rooms after the first night due to overwhelming sewer smell from the bathroom, rm 613. Rm 612 was better but still got a whiff. Stayed for 4 nights
Right at center of Baixa. Shopping, restaurants, Sao Bento Station, and Gaia across the Luis Bridge is a 10 minute walk.
Great breakfast. Loved my free bottle of wine. Desk staff was very friendly and attentive.
The staff was outstanding. Enjoyed my visit.
Good location but staff its rude, they do not even say hello
Ok stay.
The rooms are large but old and somewhat run down. The bathroom is very crowded and one can not sit on the toilet comfortably. There is a balcony but no furniture. Sound proofing could be better. Great location in City Center.
Very nice hotel in good location
The location to all the best places to visit in the city and around .. would love to visit the place again
Good location, simple but effective amenities
It's in a great spot. Everything good. Only downside was - could have done with a fridge
Not impressed
Likes: comfy bed with very nice fresh linen. The bar man in the evening. The room is best described as ‘worn basic’. The room floor was like walking up a ramp, I did watch an empty plastic water bottle run downhill from the window to the door without any assistance other than gravity. Toilet flush just kept on running water into the toilet bowl. Lino on the floor in bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast room was a free for all lacking in management and staff with quite frankly disgusting looking scrambled eggs is you did not get down there before the rush. Would not go back and would advise anyone to check out alternative hotels. This place is not cheap either.
The room was simple yet spotless clean. The staff was ok. Small elevator but thisis Europe. The breakfast was wo derful. We had a lovely view.
Ok Hotel. Horrible service.
Decent hotel for it’s price point. However, service is the worst ever. I am dead positive I left expensive brand new sunglasses in the hotel. I left them in a place the is not at all visible. I tried calling the hotel for 2 days now, and they will not answer. They will not even answer Hotels.com. My current hotel and I have sent them an email each. We stated that I wanted to speak to them personally on the phone so I could “walk” them through where my glasses would be. Instead they emailed me back in a standardized email stating the same thing. “Sorry, housekeeping has not reported anything found”. Obviously, it’s the reason why I wanted to speak to them. I don’t want to accuse anyone there, but I KNOW the sunglasses were in that room…..or still be there. This was the reason I wanted to speak with someone. I sent a second email again making same request. This time they didn’t even responding. What kind of “customer service” entity does not answer their phone ever or reply to their customer? A very poor excuse for one.
Positive: location is good Negative: moldy bread on our first day. Very strong smell of the sewage coming out from the toilet. Very disgusting smell.
It was great stay. Thank you!
