We had some delays on our check-in due to some issues with our car, so we arrived pretty late. However, we called before hand to let the host know and they were extremely nice and understandable, extremely recommended.

Great place to stay after checking out Cahuita National Park. The couple that owns the property were absolute beauties! It’s a beautiful place, really good bang for your buck.

The owners of this property are amazing - very kind and helpful. The grounds are nice and well kept and breakfast was really good. The room itself is quite small but does have air conditioning and a small fridge. There is also a shared kitchen that is well stocked.

Great place, would come back again!

This place was really awesome. It’s one of the best prices in the area and perfectly located close to Cahuita with Punta Uva only a 30 minute drive. The people running the hotel are great and very helpful with information on where to go and what to do, they will also help you book activities if you want. You can purchase breakfast for only 5 or 10 dollars depending on what you chose and it’s made fresh and very delicious. Parking is on the property and there is a gate keeping the car safe from break ins which is especially important in Costa Rica. The sign for the hotel outside is “El Colibrí Rojo” so be aware of that when finding the place.

I love this hotel it is simple and beautiful there is a pool and a hot tub a communal kitchen and a communal eating area. The breakfast made by Mateo was great. We would recommend to everyone we love. A million stars!

Perfect Caribbean Costa Rican Stay

We enjoyed our time at Le Colibri in Cahuita. The owners were helpful and communicative. It was obvious they took pride in their business and worked hard to make it an excellent place for people to stay and enjoy. The grounds are exactly what I would wish for in a Costa Rican holiday near the rainforest national park. The pool was awesome, parking safe, room clean, and water hot for the shower. Nothing more was needed - it was perfect for what we needed. Loved the added bonus of the hammock, honor fridge, community kitchen,

It’s a super cute little place and the owners are so friendly and helpful. I didn’t get to enjoy the place much because it was only one night stay because I wanted to go to the beach. But I will certainly come back and stay here longer next time.

We had an amazing experience during our time at the colibrí rouge. The couple that run the place were very kind and helpful about what to do in the area. The vibe was super cool. I will come back and recommend everyone this place if you are looking for a real Costa Rica’s Pura vida!

The place was wonderful ~ clean and very friendly....it is however a short car ride to the beach. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Paradise in Cahuita

A little piece of paradise with lush tropical plants and flowers. Reception was most welcoming by Mateo (Mathew) and his wife and most informative about the area as well as different options available for tours etc.

Really good relaxed place with a mixed group of all ages. The owners live right on the property and are extremely nice and friendly. Grounds are very well taken care of. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. Especially useful as the property is right near an entrance to the park which makes an ideal day hike from town (free shuttle in the morning) back to the hotel. Good pool as well!

Hostel not hotel

It's ok if you are looking for something basic as an hostel. Not the right place if you are looking for an hotel or a bit of comfort.room is very basic and general conditions as well.

Extremely helpful owners and staff. The rooms were adequate and clean.

This is a family run hotel in a beautiful place with the perfect amenities for families or backpackers who want a nicer place to stay then what you find in the area. The couple have made the property a little heaven and they are wonderful hosts. Best part is the ability to walk the entire National Park and be at this hotel by foot.

We loved our stay, especially when we were given a ride to the start of the Cahita Park and walked 9 km right back to the end of the trail which was 10 minute walk from our house!

Rustic, tucked away, good value.

It's a nice little motel that's a little out of the way. You can take the public bus into Cahuita, otherwise It's a 45 minute walk. Or they offer a morning ride into town. Puerto Vieja is farther but again reachable by us. Room was not big but large enough for me. A/C and a ceiling fan. There were ants, especially in the evening. The couple who are caretakers are very nice. The French-style breakfast was better than expected. I think the place caters to French tourists mostly, but one of the caretakers speaks English. The price seemed fair to me.

Beds were a terrible experience $7 breakfast was a sugar feed...chkc. cake and bread with marmalade

Quiet and comfortable

We had a quiet and relaxing time. The pool was nice fo the kids. Maybe needs more cleaning. There are common areas, very nice.

Best place to stay close enough but not too close

Comfortable, friendly, quiet with air conditioned rooms and communal kitchen, pool and ideally located away from the noise and business of Cahuita and Puerto Viejo but still close to both. The owners are very caring and went out of their way to ensure we had a stressfree and very pleasant stay. Excellent value and honestly worth more than we paid. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed every one. Would highly recommend and will stay there again! Alex, Paula, Talena and Taylor (Vancouver, BC, Canada)

Amazing stay for very good Price

The rooms were clean, the owners of the place are really friendly and helpful. The location is very quiet and peaceful. Swimming pool is well maintained. The best thing is the about the value you get as compared to the price you pay. Amazing deal i would say!!! Thanks for the wonderful stay and i would definately like to come again

Ok hotel but wouldn't stay again

The room was clean, had an air conditioner and a functional shower. However, the room was not cozy - very small and dark (dim, florecent blue light that made you not want to be inside). The oweners were helpful and polite but not welcoming.

Ithis place was advertised as in limon , it was not even close 55kms. south of limon on a very bad narrow road , when I located the hotel it was desolate , dirty , no one in attendance but a janitor who spoke no English , he contacted the owner by phone and she said she would be there in 3 hours or more , the place was awful and I refused to stay there and then had to drive 5 hours back to San jose to get a room for the night . I then called the next hotel on my list in La Fortuna which is where I am right now . I paid for 2 nights in advance , this is a very nice place excellent and friendly . I do not feel I should be charged for the hotel in lomon being as it is so bad and not worthy of being on your list of hotels.

So peaceful

Very close to the national park. The kitchen and honour bar were great. We spent an entire day on the property just enjoying the pool and facilities. Feels like a down to earth resort.

Séjour agréable à Cahuita

Accueil chaleureux des propriétaires en français. Un grand merci pour avoir personnalisé le petit-déjeuner de mon épouse. Séjour très agréable et une bonne recommandation du guide Cristian pour la visite du Parc National de Cahuita.

La atención increíble y las instalaciones muy limpias

Très déçus

Hôtel mignon, bien entretenu MAIS Surfacturation de 30$ non expliquée et nous n'avons jamais reçu la facture promise! Eau filtrée payante, 500 crc pour remplir sa bouteille ...nous n'avons jamais vu ça en 6 semaines de voyage en Équateur et au Costa Rica !! La proximité de la route, très fréquentée, rend le jardin bruyant

Excelente servicio al cliente por parte de los dueños. Riquísimo la comida, lo unico detalle es que las camas y las almohadas son un poco incomodas. Fuera de eso todo perfecto 👌

Lugar muy tranquilo. Súper atentos los dueños , muchas facilidades para hacer muy agradable la estancia . Muy limpio. Lo recomiendo. El jacuzzi delicioso . Aire acondicionado perfecto.

Un avis partagé

Un bon accueil et un accès à notre chambre avant l’horaire. L’hôtel est au bord d’une Grenade route très bouillante. Il faut prendre la voiture pour se restaurer et le soir c’est pas facile. Pas de pression pour la douche. Une bonne gestion des déchets dans l’hôtel.

Un lugar sencillo pero muy agradable y acogedor. Lo recomiendo si quieres pasar un rato agradable.

Excellent sejour

Voici un endroit où l'on se sent comme chez soi. L'accueil est super, de précieuses informations (aussi en français) sont fournies pour passer un excellent séjour relax dans et en dehors de l'hôtel. J'ai d'ailleurs prolongé mon séjour d'une nuitée, cela veut tout dire. 10/10 !!!

Une très très bonne adresse

D'une nuit réservée, nous y sommes finalement restes six.Nous avons pu apprécié la qualit3 ce cet hôtel qui est beaucoup plus qu'une simple " cabinas ! Perrine et Mathieu deux français ont repris cet établissement depuis quelques années, grâce à leurs talents et gentillesse, ils ont valorisé le Lieu tout en gardant Costa Rica in Disponible, de bons conseils pour notre séjour, maîtrise quatre langues ... Détails pratiques, possibilité de faire sa cuisine sur place ( equipement, vaisselle, barbecue, produits de base) Une piscine et jacuzzi toujours bienvenu sous cette latitude. Petit déjeuner sain et copieux et à la carte. A proximité ( 200 metres) l'entrée du parc national de Cahuita d'ailleurs nos couchés et levés étaient bercés par le cris des singes du parc Les plages de sables blancs et noirs sont à quelques minutes de voitures ainsi que bons restos et bars ä cocktails, le village tout proche de Cahuita est cool et vraiment sympa ambiance caribbé et ticos assurées.

Bien con algunos detalles.

En general bien, la administradora muy amable, la habitación acogedora, cerca en carro de muchas playas y lugares. La piscina no estaba del todo limpia (Puede mejorar) y el aire acondicionado tenia algunos problemas, enfriaba poco. La señal de wifi no llegaba bien a la habitación era intermitente.

Mejorar la limpieza e higiene de la Pila de la cocina de muy mal aspecto y pilas que no son de cocina sino de lavado (cemento y mal pintada partes negras y partes rojas de la pintura Además el aire acondicionado de una de las habitaciones muy mal ubicado para las dos camas No cuentan con porton electrico debe uno bajarse abrir y luego a cerrar por unos perros que tienen Para el previo deben mejorar condiciones

Gut

freundliche Gastgeber, schönes Grundstück mit Pool, Gemeinschaftsküche und auch nutzbarer BBQ Bereich. Zimmer von der Auststattung ok. Das Bett war recht unbequem, für eine Nacht aber ok. Die WLAN Verbindung war größtenteils nicht nutzbar, kann aber daran gelgen haben das andere ganze Filme gestreamt haben, so dass z.b. eine einfache Banküberweisung unmöglich war. Highlight: Warmwasserdusche. Mein Fazit: für 1 bis 2 Tage In Ordnung. Möchte man länger bleiben und reist mit Kind, doch lieber was anderes, gleichwohl die Gastgeber Kinderfreundlich sind.
