This hotel is run down and depressing.
Helpful charming staff. Cheery white ( of course) ambience.
No communication and totally irresponsible. Would not reply to me so l would not recommend
Very close to Arles historical center. Rooms are comfortable, well-equipped and quiet. Shower and breakfast buffet are good. Definitely a good buy for short and long stays alike.
Thes size of the room and the location. The manager Christopher was a big help and real nice.
Parking garage easy to access, nice bathroom and location convenient to attractions and getting in and out of town. Staff made restaurant reservations for us.
Great business hotel. Rooms newly renovated! Strong recommendation
Well located hotel with well equipped rooms including "french balcony" windows.
Very friendly upon arrival and accommodating!! We loved the hot tub!!! Well located!!! Great breakfast!!
A good place in Arles
We enjoyed everything, nice and clean. The only small inconvenience was that the toilet is separated from the bathroom. There is a pleasant veranda for breakfast and this hotel is very well located, and just a few minutes walk to the very center of town. A nice Tourist information center is just a block away, very helpful for the whole region. Also driving to get there is easy.
Great staff helpful and jolly great location
Enjoyable stay great bed and great breakfast will book again if I return
Solid choice
Nice people, excellent location, great breakfast
A good location on the edge of old Arles
Being somewhat away from the traffic and crowds made for a pleasant stay. Everything we wanted to see, and then some, was within easy walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping us find various, and off the beaten path, sites that made the visit all the more interesting. Morning breakfast was great and very handy for us. The Wednesday street market was right out the front door and a lot of fun to stroll around in.
Friendly, convenient and comfortable hotel
The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. It is a simple hotel, but the rooms were clean and comfortable and quiet, with good air conditioning. Quality of breakfast high. The hotel is conveniently placed for the main sights, restaurants etc., although it is the other side of town from the railway station.
no more than 1- 2 stars
The real room absolutely different from the official pictures on the website. Bed are uncomfortable, the rooms need major renovation.
Convenient and quiet
Easy, no problems. Checking simple, stay very good.
On ring road, 10 minutes to arena
Slightly remote, it was a 10 minute walk to the arena, etc. Not easy to take bus. Hotel staff very helpful always. It was very satisfactory for our needs. Standard France breakfast but fresh squeezed OJ (do it yourself so you know) was superb.
Hotel within walking distance of attractions
Staff at reception helpful and friendly. Room very basic but acceptable. Limited paid parking in building. Would not advise driving in old town! Arles historically interesting, great photo ops. Recommend dining at L'Affenage, Rue Pres. Wilson
A comfortable and friendly hotel
Great location for a stay in Arles. Central location and good for parking nearby. Good sound proofing in room. Bathroom and complimentary toiletries were excellent. Bed was most comfortable and huge, a really great huge bed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, more than most hotels in UK I've stayed in. Toilet room and bathroom tiles need some repair, but overall the hotel and rooms are very well maintained. A good hotel that cares for its residents.
We had a very comfortable stay at the Cheval Blanc. The hotel staff were really friendly and welcoming. We were grateful for their English.
Budget but well woth it
We used this hotel for a two night stay. It was more than adequate, staff were excellent and the location was good with a short walk to the major attractions. We found free parking near by after recieving a ticket outside the hotel while checking in, beware of this. The hotel 7s easy to find. Wifi was very good and rooms quiet. No hesitation in staying there , good value for money.
Great hotel
The staff was very helpful. They spoke enough English to be very helpful. Also very nice. The breakfast was a little high but tasty. I would stay there again. They have an elevator too!
Good, well located, unpretentious hotel.
Comfortable and well located for walking to all that Arles has to offer. Plenty of nearby restaurants. Street parking available (often free at the right times and overnight). Had a problem with the toilet over flowing (major problem with the main sewer!) but staff were very helpful and moved us to another room, that was much better than the first, which had been OK. I suspect the sewage problem was just a one-off. I would stay again.
Nicely located
Just a few minutes from old town, and a few minutes from archeology museum, which is a must see.
Be careful directions end you up across street from hotel,
Excellent upgraded rooms. Amazingly warm staffs and kind managers.
The hotel offers options of cheaper room or upgraded rooms. I like the new look and prefer more modern and clean white sheets. When I arrive, the first room's air condition is out of service and it happened to be hottest week in South of France. They offered me a much better room facing the side street of the hotel and I was delighted to be able to see the old roofs of the neighborhood across street. I loved the soft, clean, white sheets, comfortabl bed. The hotel not being in the center of all Arles' attractions, is actually a very good thing. You're still very close to everything but without the noise of the busy restaurants and tourists. I was in the middle of my month-long trip in France when I realized I have booked one day shorter than I should have, I wrote to them and ask if they would let me add another day of stay with same price, they were able to accommodate. It was a very pleasant 4 night stay. A foot note to this place is the very warm and kind staffs. I was having trouble adding value to my France cell phone's SIM card, and the young owner/manger, Christopher was more than helpful! Since the phone company's website are all in French, he helped me with online purchase of the cellphone time, really solved my big problem as I really needed the phone for communication. Arles is an enchanting old town, I would defiantly go back and will stay at this very same hotel again.
Nice air-conditioned hotel near all Arles sights.
Parking is scarce, but our host helped direct us to a free public lot within easy walking distance. He also quickly set up a rollaway bed for one additional traveler who joined us on the way there. He apprised us of local cultural experiences along a timeline. I would love to stay here again.
Good Central budget hotel
Excellently placed central hotel for downtown site seeing. Pre book parking to guarantee a space, very small garage! (Sketchy on street parking outside otherwise) Very helpful cheerful manager / owner (?) nothing too much trouble. Cracking aircon in room. Recommended budget central hotel for tourist site seeing.
We particularly liked the friendly staff. Breakfasts were excellent value. Arles is a good place to stay ... No too large.
A clean basic hotel
This was decent no frills hotel, and for France it was a good stay as most hotels at this price do not have double beds. The morning buffet breakfast is a bit expensive for what it is, just very basic items like breads, ham, cheese, jellies, butter, etc.., you are better off going to one of the many surrounding restaurants, it is the same price for larger foods (like omelettes, fried eggs, bacon, etc..). The people at the front desk were very nice, no complaints, just a clean, very basic hotel. The wifi is fast and easy to access once you understand how to put in the right codes. Only thing it is missing is a coffee maker in the room, really needs that as it is hard to just get a coffee, you need to buy the buffet.
Pleasant stay and good location
We had booked a superior room but felt it was a standard room in appearance and facilities. Garage very small and they couldn't fit in our car although the instruction on our booking said self parking and did not emphasis booking garage so we had to park on the street. Did not stay for breakfast therefore cannot comment.
Amazing hotel with clean spacious rooms
The hotel was clean and convenient. The staff was very responsive and professional. The room felt safe. The rooms was spacious and clean. T The hotel was a 5 minutes walk to the city center. I would recommend and stay here again. It had a quaint, provencal feel to it. Great terrace and strong WiFi.
Not a romantic getaway, a step up from a hostel
The location of this hotel along with the free parking are the best. The buffet is well priced and if you like Coffee a good deal. The bed linen is hard and felt like sand paper. The bathroom is in two locations, the toilet in one room and the tub and sink in another room which was very odd to us. We had two single beds on rollers pulled together but then the sheets were not big enough to be tucked in to hold the bed together, again a step above a hostel. Market is right out front of the hotel on market day though.
Very polite and helpful staff.
Comfortable bed. Very quiet. Limited parking (additional €'s per night)- make reservations if needed. Staff was very helpful and spoke excellent English, Portugese, and of course, French. Staff provided great advice about area attractions. Stayed for 2 nights. Would stay again if in the area.
The hotel was great, close to the bus station.
I enjoyed the stay at the hotel, staff was great, and close to everything.
Nice hotel at walking distance from historic Arles
Most pleasant stay during extraordinary bullfighting festival in and around roman arena during Easter weekend
nice small hotel.excelent location , warm staff.
very pleasant small hotell ,good equiped clean and modern. excelent location. we planned just one but stayd there-two.
good location hotel for value
Hotel twenty minute walk from train station, across the other side of city. Good location to city center and sites, bus stop, and tourist office. Clean, quiet from outside noise.
A great location and a more than comfy room
First, this place was super easy to find and free parking abounds. The staff at the hotel made great suggestions about taking a self guided walking tour and some places to eat. It is very centrally located for all you want to see in Arles--the Saturday market which starts in front of the hotel is awesome. The room was clean and relatively large. Bed was very comfy. Don't be put off by the old school exterior and reception---the place is safe, clean and staffed by friendly and helpful folks.
very nice room, little pricey for location
My gf and I spent a night at Le Cheval Blanc during our trip to the south of France. We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and spoke good English which helped us out. We got the impression from other reviews that the hotel was within the city walls but sadly it is not. However, it was only a few blocks away and was still convenient. The one downside of the hotel is we were on a very busy street that was loud at night with car traffic and people. The rooms are very modern and the hotel has free WiFi. The price is a little high.
Everything was fine.
Nothing super special about the hotel, but the staff was very helpful, the rooms very clean and comfortable, and I felt very comfortable there. The location is pretty good as well.
Air-conditioned room - was needed.
We loved our stay in Arles, and the central location of the hotel made it very easy to access the town. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. We were told not to leave our car on the road outside on Friday night because of the Saturday market - another customer forgot and had to retrieve it from the pound. There is a large free car park about 300 yards away as well as room to park in the adjacent street. Helpful and pleasant staff.
Would stay here again
We were very happy with our week-long stay at Le Cheval Blanc and would recommend it to anyone who wants a welcoming, clean and comfortable hotel in Arles. The old city is only a short stroll away and there are several very good restaurants within 2-3 blocks. In fact, the pizza place across the boulevard was excellent and there is a self-service laundry a block or so away. As the hotel is on the edge of a residential section, it is very quiet. Parking is on the street but we felt very comfortable leaving our car parked a block away.
Good price, good location
Overall: Good location, good price. When we stayed: 4 Nights in July 2012 Who we are: Husband & Wife - American Sleep Quality: Decent. Conjoined twin beds, average comfort. Moderate sized room. Did not hear neighbors and window blocked street noise well. Stayed on 3rd (top) floor. A/C worked well and quickly. Room was clean though somewhat dated. Lights in hallway/stairwell did not work. Location: Good location - average safety - 10min walk from downtown Arles. Groups of unemployed men sitting outside hotel every evening - not at a restaurant - just sitting there. Staff: Pleasant, but spoke very, very little English. Bathroom: Split bathroom - toilet in one room, shower/bath/sink in another. Those rooms are joined by a pony wall so noise/air passes. Good water pressure. Parking: Cramped but could park 6 (by blocking-in 3). Had to leave my keys at the desk one night because they might have to move my car.
A éviter
Ottima scelta
Good hotel for a night over
A good hotel, good breakfast, working wi-fi, clean and modern rooms with air-conditioning. Nothing to complain.
Solid hotel, newly renovated rooms.
Good solid hotel for the price, rooms have been renovated and are pretty comfy. One of the employees was rather off-putting (no spot in the garage though we reserved it), the other was eager to help and really nice. The common area of the hotel (breakfast, lobby) smell of bleach and are rather bleak, but the rooms are fine. The hotel is on the outside of the "old town" and you need to walk a few minutes to the many areas of interest, but in all a good hotel
Good value hotel in good location
Stayed one night to spend the day in Arles mainly to bisit some photographic exhibitions. Hotel is comfortable, clean and efficient. Beakfast was ample and good value. Receptionist very helpful. Parking soaces limited so book if needed.
Godt hotel til rimelig pris
Godt hotel
Charming location
Location was great, staff was nice. All in all ok for the price.
Brutta zona
A very warm welcoming presence!
