Stay here a few times in the past, still my preferred hotel when goes to Xaimen.

A beautiful hotel with a great swimming pool

We had a very nice stay. The room was very comfortable and we slept well. Good bathroom amenities, shower, and bathtub. The shopping mall next door is very convenient for meals. We loved the pool, which was great for laps and not crowded during our stay. Throughout the hotel, staff was very friendly and made every effort to be helpful. When we ran into a few small problems, it was due to management. For example, there's no concierge to help with arranging local tours and no information available about sightseeing. There's no information about spa treatments unless you physically go to the spa and ask there. Maybe the hotel only recently opened? It seemed like a standard level of services expected from Langham were sometimes missing at this location. It's still a lovely, comfortable hotel and good value.

LangHam Hotel Business Trip Review

This hotel is amazing. The enviornment is great, the gym is extremely big for a hotel gym and the staffs were extremely accommedating. There is also a conference room on the 25th floor you can reserve. I would like to thank Audrey, Mandy, Eva, Jamie and Andy for their continuous assistance.

A hotel I never want to checkout

The hotel is amazing but the inhouse restaurants are only opne on weekends. Also more staff need to be trained to handle customers especailly on the phone.

Enjoyable stay

It was an enjoyable stay. Rooms are well maintained, service staffs are friendly and helpful. Nice bath shower. Bed is comfortable and I slept well for all 4 nights. Gym is well equipped. Mini walk in wardrobe is a good touch. Day and night curtains are electrically controlled, a very nice feature.

Beautiful

I booked and paid in advance for a non smoking room. When arrived, no non smoking room. I was forced to stay in a room that been allocated for children. As a gold member I was not even offered an upgrade.

Room is clean and comfortable. Just hope that aircon can be colder in this hot weather.

Nice and elegant. Decor in room is modern and clean love the all marble bathroom. Gym is nice and well appointed. Next door to a nice mall and many restaurants. Bartender was slow and a novice. Did not speak much english!

My favorite in Xiamen

Great facility 10-15 minutes from the airport. Walking distance to 2 upscale shopping mall. My favorite place in Xiamen.

The reception and concierge staff members are professional and nice. I had a very good welcoming experience as soon as i arrived.

Great location and good buffet spread. Staff were polite and attentive in noticing travelers who needed help thereafter render their assistance. Room were clean too!

Air conditioning was weak, drain in the shower was clogged.

Langham Place was spectacular! My husband and I booked this hotel after learning that we would be having a very long layover in Xiamen. Check-in with Jess was a breeze and we were even upgraded to better room. Our room on the 25th floor was great! There were a couple scuff marks here and there which I thought didn't belong to a 5-star hotel but everything was very much in order. We had a little trouble communicating with staff at times as English isn't spoken throughout the hotel, but we found that all staff would happily whip out their phones and try to translate whatever they were trying to say. This made everything easier and I appreciate their effort! The pool was a fun treat for us and we spent a good hour swimming laps after visiting the gym in the morning. Don't forget you need a swim cap! If you had forgotten anything they had them conveniently for sale at a good price. Belinda assisted us later at the lunch buffet, which was delicious. There was plenty to choose from and a lot for new treats for us to try. Lastly, Lucas helped us with an easy early check-out. Lucas and the men at the information desk quickly set up a taxi for us to be taken to the airport. This was a big plus as we were nearing check-in time for our flight! All-in-all my husband and I had such a great, even though short, time at Langham Place. We were sad that we only had a layover here and would have easily extended our stay otherwise.

Room on the 23rd floor was large and nicely decorated with a view of the bay. Bed was very comfy, the closet space was a little small but ok for one night stay. The breakfast is mainly focused on Chinese style food, if you prefer more western type of breakfast the choice is limited. Staff was always friendly. The hotel is next to a large shopping mall Wanda Plaza, it takes about 15 -20 min car ride to the airport.

It's an older property as far as Langham's go. It's ok, not nearly as nice as the one in Shenzhen or in Hong Kong. The staff was not very friendly. They weren't rude like sometimes you find in China, but still neither the nice Chinese restaurant or the concierge made us feel especially welcome. We love Langham's, but we will probably stay at another location next time.

Attentive staff, always willing to lend a helping hand in making my stay as comfortable as possible, truly awesome hotel. I changed my room easily when there is some smoking smell detected. Breakfast is a a wide variety with sushi included.

Staff is very nice and helpful and taking initative to give recommendations for the sightseeing places. Room is clean and spacious. Its a surprise that they offer free mini bar. Location is fine with a shopping mall next to the property. Its a reasonable deal and I have no doubt to recommend this hotel to other travellers.

I had a great stay here. Not in the downtown area but plenty of shopping and eating right next door. It’s closer to the Xiamen North train station and the airport than being in downtown as well.

I WISH TO VISIT AGAIN IN JULY

I was staying in 2501, It was a very superb property with superb level of customer service. It’s internet wifi service can allow international visitors to keep in touch with the outside world. The property is in a superb condition and yet it’s convenient location allows its visitors to maneuver so conveniently. Finally I would like to say that the front desk agent who help me to check out had done a very professional job although she was a very young little lady. She had handle my “early check out” nicely and professionally. I really wish to express my appreciation to her and my apology to her for my temper in my rush “early check out”

Excellent hotel at good rates

We have chosen the Langham Place Xiamen bacause we had positive experience in Langham HK. This time, we are again very happy with the big, King bed and bathroom with lots of marbles!

Comfortable room but poor service.

Hotel relatively new with spacious room. However, staff not proficient in English and service not up to par. Location a little far from attractions. Breakfast mediocre, most dishes( apart from made to order) luke warm at best.

Great value in Xiamen

Great stay at the Langham. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent. No problems with the service.

Some room has cigarette smell. The lighting is kinda dark. Other than that it's good.

The lobby and receptionist service is good. But the housekeeping is not consistent. I had 2 rooms we were asking 4 bottles drinking water. The first request I got it FOC.Then I asked 4 bottles for the another room. To my surprise she said 2 bottles FOC and another 2 bottles I had to paid RMB10.00 each bottle. End-up when I checked out I was not charged for the water. What was she playing at?

Mediocre Hotel

Nobody speaks english in the hotel, very difficult to communicate with staff. Its supposed to be 5 stars but rooms are not up to level. Noisy hallways and many chinese children screaming and running around the hotel. Hotel lacks exclusivity and its clientele reflect it.

I only checked in rather late at night, and got upgraded to a suite. Seriously impressed!

Nice hotel

Nice and clean, but the main, and only issue is the fact that in this five star hotel no one speaks English. I couldn't find anyone in the hotel to understand what I need even on the most basic level. Would I return to this hotel in the future? Maybe. Would I learn to speak Chinese for my next trip? Probably not.

Amazing service, amazing room, amazing stay.

I checked in to the hotel late at night, and I did not at first know that my room (Executive King) granted me access to the lounge on the 25th floor. As I had a late flight, Tom graciously allowed me to have a late check-out and for that I'm extremely grateful. Amazing service! The hotel's 1F restaurant also provides an amazing breakfast spread. Definitely worth a visit!

Check in was very slow. I have stayed here before and check in was slow then also. However everything else is amazing. 5star. 100% stay again.

Average experience in recent stay

Long time favorite hotel in the area. Room is clean. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Very convenient with shopping mall, food stores and Wal-mart store across the street. But, recent stay was an unpleasant one with room's air-conditioning couldn't go below 26~27 degC. Approached front desk but was told that nothing can be done during winter season. Will consider other hotel if travel during winter season next time.

March Business Trip

A well managed hotel with very good service team. Relative big size but comfortable room. The only drawback is the sound insulation of the windows is not that good. I could hear very loud traffic on the main road that my room was facing.

Improvement on Service

Its service was not to par for carrying the name Langham. Check-in staff were not friendly and unprofessional, never asked if we wanted smoking / non-smoking rooms and arranged us on smoking floor. Customer service were not responsive and took a long time for our luggage to get delivered to our room. The fridge was not working, so the milk we had got spoiled. Langham Group has really disappointed me and I will reconsider my choices in the future. Their hotel at Xiamen has lacked proper and professional training, the management should investigate and improve on it before the international forum in September.

Should have clean air indoors

Air pollution is a big problem specially in China, and in Xiamen is not so different. I measured the air inside the room and saw a very high level of inhalable particles, so you don't feel good as it could be with a cleaner air. All hotels in China should use filters to clean indoors.

Excellent stay

We stayed there for two nights. Staff were friendly, room was big & comfortable, breakfast was reasonably priced and nice. We enjoyed the stay very much. We will certainly go back.

Got ''smoke'' room in a non-smoking room. But I got a smoke free room after request to change.

Good stay. Had just a few problems with internet, but they send IT manager who solve everything fast.

Wierd

The hotel was fine. Nice place to stay. Near mall. But when i ask hotel staff to call a cab. ( i ask twice, at 5pm to go to restaurant and 10pm to go to airport to pick up my friend, They say no taxi available. They say they tried, But no one responded to their call. It's wierd because there are so many taxi at xiamen. And they say they dont have any car at the hotel that can help me go to the restaurant that i want to. So that day, i stuck at the hotel for 1 day. (Only can go to the mall beside the hotel)

Great hotel convenient to everything. Big shopping mall next door in case you forgot anything. Hotel staff fully accustomed to Western Customer service. I travel to Xiamen a lot. Going to make this my mainstay.

Typical lower-tier Chinese "non smoking" room

Club-level non-smoking room smelled terribly of smoke. It was a late checkin after a long business day and just a one night stay or I'd have complained and gotten another room, but I have my doubts that they offer a non smoking room here. The room finishes were nice but showed scuff marks and also cigarette stains here and there. Gross. My colleague had a second room with the same smoky condition, so it wasn't just a one off mistake but rather poor hotel quality in both instances. Skip this place and stay somewhere nicer if you care about having a non smoking room.

Disapointing, prefered the Le Meridian.

A/C, Internet, & TV Didn't work. Changed rooms twice, as did a colleague, we both experienced same thing, and a general unwillingness to address the issues raised.

Very nice place, slightly away from tourist zone

The staff are amazing and the hotel standard as a whole was far better than expected. The room was cleaned beautifully every day including all new towels, robes, slippers, bottled water etc Having Wanda Plaza just next door is a big plus.... there are lots of places to eat (maybe 100?) including Chinese (obviously), Italian, Greek and plenty more.... and a few big chain's (Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC). The Plaza has mostly the same brands you would expect in a western mall...... And a Walmart downstairs can be very handy for anything/everything purchases. The hotel staff all speak some English, some of them speak it very well. Outside the hotel be sure to have Waygo and I-translate installed on your phone to smooth out the language barrier... and download the offline version so that it will work without connection... When taking a taxi from the airport, the drivers probably won't know where "the Langham" is... and even street names/directions/address don't help. (GPS systems in China aren't at all reliable). However almost all taxi drivers know where "Wanda Plaza" is, which can be a big help in getting there.

Comfortable stay with good service

Overall the hotel is very new and in great condition. The lobby is impressive and the room is very comfortable with a nice layout. The breakfast buffet is very good with a nice variety of western & Asian choices. The concierge was very helpful in giving us a list of recommended restaurants and pointing out which ones are suitable for business vs pleasure. The main disadvantage is its location, which is close to the airport but a bit far from main tourist sites. The hotel is opposite from Wanda Plaza which is convenient if you need to do some shopping. Otherwise, the street atmosphere is nothing special. All in all though, we had a great stay at this hotel.

Cozy & Convenient

Located right next to shopping mall. Quite convenient location, not too far from airport. Breakfast spread is not much, very minimal basic western, and slightly wider choice of Chinese cuisine. Stayed for 4 nights, staff were super helpful, warm..from concierge to housekeeping...all are friendly. They speak minimal broken English..still managed to communicate. Will come back again.

Splendid in its very own way

If you are from mainland China, you should have better hotel options to look for. However, if you are from other parts around the world, this Langham Place could be one of the best stays you can get out of Xiamen or presumably the entire China. . To be straight on the point, you may access sites like google, facebook, twitter, youtube, and more here, very untypical in China due to many restrictions the country has. I've tried some other hotels, Days Inn to the Four Seasons, but none had ever realized my pursuit to my youtube follows. This hotel did, which is my sole reason to rate it 5 stars. Nevertheless, if you don't have the urge to go on these global social networking or media sites, this hotel does not stand out from the rest. The staff is eager to clean up my room despite the fact that I had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on. The Chuan Spa, on the other hand, is rather a common experience, although the hotel markets it as one which adapts some Chinese Taoism insights. Breakfast buffet is nice; it provides cucumber and watermelon juices alternatively. However, they do not have peanut butter for toast. Well, they do, but they don't show it, and only once out of my four visits to the buffet did the chefs spooned me a bite. That's it from me. If you feel like going out for the day and come back at night doing some routine networking, this is the place. If you are expecting the awesomeness of a luxury hotel, I recommend trying your luck elsewhere.

Very short visit with flight delays coming in but the Langham staff made my short stay a very comfortable one. Excellent breakfast!
