Very solid choice

Very solid hotel stay. The breakfast spread was very good, with appetizing choices of good quality. The hotel room was neither big or small, but it was well appointed, and I was content with all the cable channels available. The shower was modern and the bed was comfortable and a good size. The surrounding area is nice, with good views of the hills. The only negatives were the very busy hotel lobby, manned by only a single employee, and an AC system that was set very aggressively considering the fact it was rainy and cold in November.

This is my fourth time at this hotel and if I'm in Medellín it will be my first choice.

The property is located in a quiet neighborhood. Less good is that the hotel is not always easy to be find by taxis.

They make me a double chicken and cheese only pizza and it's awesome and I'm originally from Chicago the best pizza in the world .. The staff here were exceptional. They would assist me with all my needs and even helped me obtain the ultimate pizzas from Papa John's. Well, I preferred them. The breakfasts were excellent too. Cheese omelets were yummy!

This is a nice hotel overall. It’s clean and the breakfast was decent. The overall customer service was not the best. On multiple occasions we had to ask more than once before getting assistance (e.g. had to ask twice to get our safe in a usable condition, the treadmills needed were on a fuse that needed to be reset, but that took two days, there weren’t always enough towels at the pool, etc.). The restaurant did not have the same hours that were stated online. Earlier in the week it is not open in the evenings.

I stay here all the time it's clean and safe rooms are nice but don't stay in a room near an elevator very loud .... The room doors are thick and loud when closing at night .... Restaurant on 8th floor will surprise you good nachos and decent pizza ... It's very safe and nice area

Our family has stayed at this property many times before, but this time the beds seemed a bit hard, everything else is wonderful, specially the staff!

Problems to resolve

The first night is not hot water in the bedroom and we have to take a shower with cold water, and the second night star a water drip from the ceiling for a problem with the AC.

It's a great value hotel I stay there frequently... Clean quiet smart fit gym below the hotel couple of nice restaurants you can walk to ..

The hotel rooms are small but comfortable and in very good condition. The only problem I had was that I book for one day to use the pool that day but Monday the pool is closed the whole day for cleaning and sometimes is closed the whole day Tuesday. So the pool limitations are an inconvenience. The schedule is also a problem as the days it is open it will close very early. It closes at 6 pm. The days the pool is closed are not that easy to find on the expedia web site while booking and the days is open schedule is also wrong on the schedule. I will suggest the pool schedule is extended and pool does not close so customers can enjoy it on one day stays.

Expensive for area and what you get. For it being colombia. You can be at a neighboring area for half price. Not worth it. Paid $140usd a night. Should only be worth $70 usd or less. Be careful of overprice stay

The only problem was that the cleaning person always turns off the air conditioner and that was a big problem we complained about it with the front desk and they said that that was one of the biggest complained that people give

High Price Hotel for Poor Service

The receptionist gave us a hard time bc she wanted our US passports & she would not accept US passport cards or California Driver’s licenses. After 30 minutes of trying to get her to accept them, I changed the reservation to my friend’s name bc we had a social event in the 8th floor of LQ that my friends were hosting & she still insisted that she would not complete the check in until my husband & I showed her original passports. We had to send a driver back 1 hr to get our passports which made us super late to the event. She should have accepted the US passport cards and driver’s licenses, assigned the rooms pending original passport. Which she did (1 hr after we arrived) after other family members (who were staying the hotel) came & begged her to check us in pending passports. My room A/C was out of order. It kept the temperature at 24 C. When I complained about it, they told me that they had issues with the A/C in the whole hotel. This was not true bc my family had rented 8 rooms bc of the event & their A/C were working fine. The lobby bathrooms have no A/C. My husband went to the front desk & asked for a shower cap. They told him they would send one to the room. I had to call them to requested it. We paid almost $100 per room to get bad service, We have stayed at Monte Rey Hotel where we paid $24 hr per person & they treated us with respect, kindness & professionalism.

The hotel felt very safe. The hot water for showering is almost warm. But in general the hotel was very good.

Disappointed

First I will mentioned why I was highly disappointed: I had a friend who came by to see me for a moment, but the hotel attendant did not allow my friend to come visit me. I was wondering are they trying to make guests feel like they are a child and they are the parent. The attendant told me I must pay an additional fee for my guest to visit me. I was highly and extremely outrageously upset about that. If that incident did not happened, then I would have given them high reviews on the hotel. I must admit it was very clean, efficient, and the food that was served was excellent. I still would like to speak with the hotel manager regarding this incident.

This is a business hotel, pool service closed on Sundays, very dirty pool area, glass in pool is is dirty you can not look outside. Water in pool super cold. Pool service and are needs works urgently. Owner loosing revenues. Servers do not have a POS that comunícates orders directly to kitchen employees have to call in orders. Pool bathrooms clean. Rooms are nice and clean. Beds are good as well.

Todo súper bueno de verdad que nos encanto el hotel todo está súper cerca así que lo recomiendo al 100% el aria de la piscina súper bueno con una vista increíble el restaurante para el desayuno que lo incluye la estadía está delicioso y el restaurante en el piso 8 es pagando la cena o el almuerzo pero es una plato que te lo puedes delaitar bien rico cuando regrese lo tomaré otra ves

Nightmare at La Quinta

When we arrived the entire building was without electricity. There is not back up power. They made my wife, two kids and me climb five storie stairs. They opened the door of my room with a master key because my room key wouldn’t work. I had to sleep without AC up until. We had a very rough night. The pool was in maintenance so my kids couldn’t enjoy it, There was no internet. There was no cable. The car they sent for picking us up at the airport was extremely small for eight suitcases my kids, my wife and me. We asked them kindly to let us stay up until 7:00 pm because my fly left at 11:00 pm they refused to do it for free, I had to pay for half a day. The included breakfast is a joke. I don’t recommend this hotel. I will never stay at La Quinta again anywhere in the world.

Far away location

The location is far away from the main happening place. Getting into taxis is dangerous as hotel does not have its own driveway. you hav to cross the road to get in and out of taxis with cars crossings. Service was good. Overall an average stay

The property and rooms are great. Big and clean. Staff is wonderful and breakfast is very good and plentiful. I gave this hotel 4 stars out of 5 because the pool closes at 6 pm daily AND 1 pm Sundays for some very odd reason that not even the patio staff could explain. The other negative was the lounge chairs have no cushions and therefore you are laying on hard metal bars, which is awful. Every guest at the pool complained about this. It’s very odd and strange why the hotel wouldn’t have proper lounge cushions. The concrete floor was more comfortable and didn’t have metal bars sticking in your back. If they change these two simple things then 5 stars. Otherwise it’s hard to enjoy the amazing pool and view.

El servicio no es muy amable para ser un hotel de cadena hotelera. El desayuno muy bueno. Amenities faltó abastecimiento.

El trato fue muy bueno de los empleados, muy serviciales y honestos. La muchacha de la barra muy amable siempre.

El hotel está en una zona hermosa y segura de Medellín. Sin embargo, es muy lejos de todos los sitios turísticos, es necesario alquilar carro o usar Uber para llegar a cualquier punto.

I booked and checked in on a Sunday night for 3 nights and the next morning I received a call and had to leave because of a confirmed medical emergency with my daughter back home. I explained to the hotel and the refused to give me my money back but instead offer me the remaining 2 night once I come back before 31 Dec 2023. Yes, this year… Not to happy about that
