Nice spot. Easy to live in for our four night stay. Lovely comfortable king bed and nice large living space. Good shower too. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there and in Kaikoura again — it’s a beautiful part of NZ.

fantastic value in the area

Fantastic place to stay in the area. It was very clean, well appointed, and had very comfortable beds. I got a great night's sleep and there are a bunch of dining options within walking distance. I wish I had another night here.

Excellent stay

This was a beautiful, clean and quiet apartment to stay directly across the beach. The resturants up the street was very good and many to choose from. The parking was convenient.

Friendly hosts and most comfortable bed on our trip

Good sized apartment with comfy beds. Straight across the road from the beach. Needed to be on the balcony to see the ocean being tucked in the corner at furtherest end of motels but weather was nice so we did get to use this. Well equipped kitchen. Beware of ants - bench covered in the time it took for us to eat our dinner. Luckily we brought all our food in a chilly bin so used that to keep our food in. Staff were quick to bring any spray when asked. The bath had pubic hairs in it when we arrived so obviously had not been cleaned between visitors. Owner apologised the following day as they had been on a day off which was appreciated.

We were a little disappointed with our stay here. We booked the “economy room” which was the lowest category, but didn’t realise this meant that our room would be right next to reception and look out immediately onto a wall on one side and someone else’s house on the other. It also meant we had two apartments above us and the staircase to these next to our bedroom. We had a family with young children sharing the two apartments above and they were screaming and running back and forth until 1am and I had to ask them to stop. They started again at 7am. The accommodation itself is very basic and a bit tired and outdated. The pillow case on the bed was marked and there were cracks in the tiles in the bathroom. There were also very few surfaces to put our items and nowhere to hang any clothes. The TV was very small and the internet was unacceptably bad - to the point that our devices wouldn’t even connect. The location was a good 15 minute walk from the town and restaurants and not as centrally located as we had hoped. The only positives were the staff who seemed friendly and nice.

Room disappointed us, it was around the back of the block with no view. The bathroom was very small, there was no table and the kitchen had an esky size fridge. Family rooms appeared spacious, not a suitable place to stay for a couple.

Lovely apartment central to everything Kaikōura has to offer. Walking distance to town. Beach across the road. Ultra comfy. Great staff.

Like: nice unit with generous supply of cooking and dinning kit. Dislike: no extraction in shower room, and wallpaper (?) peeling above shower. No curtains in bedrooms - blinds don't cut it either in evening or morning!

We enjoyed our stay which was right opposite the water. The kitchen was ver usable. The location was excellent and we were able to walk to many places.

The property was clean, and nicely decorated, the pots were small and pan had seen better days. I had a reservation for Oceanview ground floor and I ended up with a partial view second floor, I’m not sure why the discrepancy in the reservation, we were just told that’s all they had. Grateful that they had a room, could’ve been worse.

A nice property with spacious rooms and parking space. The team keeps the place in pristine condition. Highly recommended

Property manager Poppy was so kind and made our stay comfortable and memorable. The property is in a great location that’s walking distance to the Kaikoura town centre. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Kaikoura.

I'm a leisure traveller and usually make it a point to stay at the best accommodation i can find. This visit to Kaikoura however i was there for a very brief stay (just one night) so i decided to be a bit frugal. I was pleasantly surprised when went there. The property was right next to the beach, had ample space and was well managed. But the highlight of the trip was the hospitality. The hosts were super kind and friendly, and put up with my capricious requests at odd hours with warmth and generosity of spirit. Was it the fanciest place I've lived it? No. It is purposefully comfortable without being extravagant, and does show its age in a few places (i did pick the economy room though so it may have had something to do with it), but i slept well, had nice peaceful surroundings and everything was walkable. You don't go to Kaikoura to see the walls of a hotel room. You go there to enjoy breathtaking scenery and warmth of its people and this place delivered both!

One of the best beds of the trip. Sea views from the balcony, nice kitchen and washing machine. Very comfortable and satisfactory!

Loved Kaikoura

This was part of a holiday in NZ. We loved the apartment, the position from town centre and Kaikoura what a beautiful town.

Lovely example of great Kiwi hospitality — clean, well kept and very comfortable.

The best hotel so far in the South Island. Would highly recommend and would stay again no question.

This was a great property to stay at. With excellent views, immediate access to the beach and walkways, and an easy seven minute stroll to shops/dining. I would gladly stay here again.

Beautiful location. Rooms are styled nicely. Clean and had everything we needed to cook in the room. The accomodation was full on our first night and others around us were noisy but was very quiet on the second night. Will be back!

Beautiful waterfront apartment, the sea is just infront of us and you can walk by the sea to the town centre. Rosie was helpful and friendly and gave us good advice on where to eat etc. Kaikoura is beautiful and if you visit Kaikoura, stay here.

Just right, for my partner, daughter and I and convenient for us, as we travelled further out and Kaikoura was the centre of our destinations.

Amazing stay

Our unit was on the ground floor, and the patio was gated which was really nice for the young kids. The unit was very comfortable, warm and adequately equipped. The two bedrooms were separated by a large clean bathroom which had good amenities. We were surprised to find a washer dryer in one of the kitchen cabinets (with laundry powder provided!) It was not possible to watch the sunrise from our patio as the patio faces the carpark, but you can certainly walk out a very short distance to the beach/sea. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Kaikoura (which I will!)

When we arrived the heat pump was going and made our later arrival to our apartment very welcoming.

It is a new and modern, clean and cosy stay. I can see that the apartments are being very well looked-after. The host was friendly. Would be great if there is wall hook in the bath room. Love the quality of bedding and its linen.

Think carefully before choosing the economy room rate at these apartments. We did and found a view of the gas cylinders and the neighbours washing, no way of heating anything in the room except electric jug and toaster, no dishwasher, no table and chairs except outside on the south side, a very small bathroom where sitting on the toilet straight was a bit of a challenge. All of these things are fine if you know that’s what you are going to get, but the website looks so enticing and really there is not that much difference in price.

Fantastic apartments.

Small poorly laid out suite in the back of the property. The toilet faced the door. Internet did not work in the evening on both days we were there. We were told that this was commonly a problem.

Stay was ok,apart from trying to payment off credit card early when we were pay at property. Also you had pay extra for service and clean towels every day,also needed few repairs .

Location and view are great

We were sold a stay at not a cheap price. We received an email saying that the unit was at the back, without cooking facilities and no view, would we like an upgrade. As none of these limitations were in the Expedia description this sounded like a bait and switch. If they were in the ad then why would they have sent us the email. Essentially I feel cheated and exploited and will never trust this establishment or recommend them. The premises themselves were adequate and NOT good value.

We only stayed one night, but wished we were staying longer. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with patio. It had everything we needed and was roomy enough for 2 adults and 2 children. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything you need, it was quiet, parking was good and it is just a walk over the road to the beach/water. We would love to come back and stay abit longer. :)

Sorry to say we were disappointed as this ranks the lowest rating we have put on a motel ever. We travel extensively. The blinds, the fittings were all very tired. Surprised by what the front units looked like our the front. Unit looks like it was fitted out with product out of the deconstructioned houses out of Christchurch earthquake

Fantastic accommodation with reasonable pricing!

The 2 bedroom apartment unit that we stayed in was amazing! Very well furnished with large sitting area and very well stocked kitchen. Highly recommend this accommodation. If you are spending time outside of your room for meals or drinks, we recommend one of the second level units, which have large balconies with adequate seating and nice views. There are 2 units on the backside of the property that do not have a good view. Suggest avoiding these two units.

Beautifully decorated and set up apartment with very close proximity to the sea and township. Lovely area to sit outdoors with view of the sea. The only suggestion I would make is that there be a sheer curtain for privacy as well as the blockout curtains, so that you could have the curtain open in the morning and not worry about people passing by being able to see in. Thanks for a lovely stay, would def stay again.

Great stay. Bedrooms are pretty small, but otherwise all good.

The apartment was roomy and had a large fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer, stove /oven. The large balcony was a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the ocean and mountains. Staff were very accommodating for our late checkin. Easy walk to shopping and diwntown. Beach across the street. A great two night stay.

A lovely stay at kaikoura waterfront apartments. The staff were super friendly. We were able to check in abit earlier which was incredibly helpful. We were gifted milk on arrival and there were hot choclate, tea and coffee packets to use. It would have been handy if there were little butter packets. The beds were very comfortable and we hired a porta cot for our little one Overall a wonderful place to stay.

After tripping around the South Island for the past nine days this accommodation was the best we experienced. Will be recommending to others.

A good apartment that overlooked the beach and towards the mountains. I was upstairs, so had better views than those downstairs. Everything inside was nice and made for a comfy stay. Walking distance to town, or a short drive. The only negative - we had a smoker in the room next to us and all we could smell was smoke. It was absolutely foul. Get with the times and ban smoking from your venue, guys. I wouldn't stay here again simply because of this.
