Unforgettable stay

We had a room on high floor facing Sakurajima! It's amazing! Breakfast was excellent! Shopping malls and restaurants just across the street. Staff was friendly. Special thanks to Haong! He's super and always offered help!

They have a great spa but if you have tattoos they will not allow you to go to the spa

Perfect hotel with magnificient view of the Sakurajima volcano and bay. - Our room was very spacious with two airconds, great beddings, bright clean bathroom, good amenities - Breakfast was great and nicely presented. - Free shuttle bus to the chuo line. - Staff and services were top notch, probably one of the best we have come across. We would highly recommend this hotel.

This was our 2nd stay at Kagoshima Sun Royal Hotel..says it all. Wonderful staff..great breakfast..great onsen. Thanks to all the staff, especially Geoffroy. Hope to come back.

The panoramic bathing and the views from my room. Superb.

I booked with half board option with dinner and breakfast. My room was a bit oudated but it was clean and nice. The buffet breakfast and dinner had plenty of choices, and both were great. The hotel had other restaurants too so you dont have to eat their buffet if you dont want. The onsen was also great with a view of the volcano. The free shuttle was also great. I really enjoyed my two night stay here.

중앙역과 덴몬칸에서 호탤까지 무료 셔틀 있어서 잘 사용했습니다. 화산 바라보면서 호텔 온천하는것 아주 좋았습니다. Half board 로 아침과 저녁 부페 먹었는데 충분히 가치가 있었던거 같습니다. 전반적으로 가성비 짱이고 나름 저렴하게 2-3일 호캉스하기 아주 좋습니다. 호텔시설도 전반적으로 훌륭한데 조금 낡아보이는 감이 없지 않습니다

Location and view were wonderful. Breakfast buffet was so many choices and delicious. Hot tub steam sauna with Sakura volcano view were unforgettable. Hotel stuff were very nice and kind. I ‘d like to come back and stay again. Thank you.

Whilst the hotel is a little dated it was clean and the staff very helpful. A good base hotel for exploring the local area and taking a trip to Yakushima via the local ferry a couple km's away.

A great stay and a great breakfast

Loved everything about this hotel. Great view of volcano from our room, attentive staff and the Japanese Spa was awesome.

The Hotspring was pretty cool. The water was warm and it had an amazing view outside of the window. Also, it was very relaxing. The rooms were small but overall, the room was nice. In the seating area, it was so relaxing, and enjoyable. The service was a bit too good. The butler didn't even let us push the cart ourselves and when we tried, he'd say : Let me push the cart, or, I'm pushing the cart. Stay back" or something like that. I really appreciate the service, but they should at least let us push the cart ourselves sometimes. I don't understand Japanese 'cause I am from a different place, but I sorta understand. I loved the hotel a LOT mainly, because this is the place that my parents lived in about 20 years ago or 15. The Chapel was cool and nice too! Thanks for your cooperation.

Breakfast buffet

Breakfast buffet was good. Well worth it. We stayed in non smoking room- apparently formerly smoking. Nearly suffocated. I was expecting Onsen soak in front of Sakurajima as in the pic, but Onsen bath area was relatively small compared to the hotel size and fairly crowded PM and AM. The hotel offers free bus to and from Kagoshima Chuo station but not frequent. We ended up taking cab to and from station. Approx 1000 yen + each way.

Extremely filthy property with carpet that looks like it has not been cleaned or changed in a hundred years. The room blankets are also super uncomfortable and dirty. Would never recommend.

Not a pleasant stay

Service was good, counter staff tried their best. Hotel was old and not upgraded. My room smelled stale and condition of the bed was not ideal. Felt very dusty overall in the room.

Excellent service and food

There is no information to access to the panorama bath for the people who have trouble to take a staircase from the guest floor. By the time I fouud out the way to get to the panorama bathe through the door from the 13th floor, it was too late as it was a day of our departure. My elderly mother could never experience the enjoy of taking the panorama bath.

Our experience was wonderful, the hotel had the best view in town of the volcano and the staff was amazing. The interior was a little dated, but with how amazing everything else is I can look past that. It also is located pretty close to a lot of stuff.

13階の温泉は桜島が一望出来る。 朝食は種類が多くて美味しかった。 鹿児島中央駅から無料シャトルバスがある。

Shopping and restaurants nearby. The hotel provides shuttle bus service to the railway station. The airport express bus stop is right in front of the hotel, very convenient. The onsen has a great view!

Balcony view, large room, excellent breakfast, attentive staff. Would have preferred softer mattress.

Overall is fine, the hot spring is a little bit disappointing because it is small and only indoor.

Relax under full view of Sakurajima!!!

1st time in Kagoshima, not sure if location of Sun Royal is too far off the main shopping district at first... Glad they provide an hourly free shutter bus that goes to Kagoshima Chuo Station and Tenmonkan district, makes city-seeing so much more convenient and effective! Room is large, we got a twin room which they say all face Sakurajima... Onsen at top level also faces the impressive mountain view, which makes the expression even more unforgettable!!! The hotel property can tell has aged a fair bit, some sort of refurbishment should be considered. Area around hotel is self-sufficient enough, with 2 large malls across the road, boosting hypermarts, drugstores, restaurants and cafes, even a Daiso, Uniqlo and GU.

We stayed in a triple corner room with mountain view. Room was very small with very little space to walk along. Hotel was a bit old but it was well maintained. Staff were very friendly but only a few could speak English. Buffet breakfast provided a vast variety of local and western food and was very tasty. It was value for money.

Amazing onsen and great service

This hotel shows its age (as I do myself!), but that kind of gives it character - or a kind of "wabi-sabi" esthetic quality, to use a Japanese term. Furthermore, everything works perfectly, as one expects in Japan. The greatest asset of this hotel is it 12th floor onsen, which guests can use for free. It has a magnificent view of the Sakurajima volcano. The location is not optimal, but the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to downtown, so it works fine. Curiously, the hotel asks you to pay an "onsen tax" of 150 yen a day, although the booking information says the price includes all taxes and fees. It is a small amount, but it is hard to understand why this isn't included in the room price.

Fantastic view

Excellent view with the volcano view from the balcony of your room. The hit spring view is also amazing.

This is the second time we stayed in the Sun Royal Hotel. We were, like the last time three years ago, met warmly by the same French gentleman Geoffrey in the lobby. He is most friendly and knowledgeable about the places in the city. The hotel is about 1200 yens taxi journey or 10 minutes from the city centre. Very convenient. What the Sun Royal gives you that other hotels can’t is the spectacular view of the Sakurajima from the hotel room. The hot spring on the upper floor offers the same unbelievable Sakurajima view. The last time I was here I saw a snow cappped Sakurajima. Most amazing. There is an adjacent parking lot, free of charge, for self-drive guests.

Disappointing.

Hotel staff is very kind and polite. Excellent view , but the room need urgent update.The carpet smell very bad and it was not clean enough.

Wash let on the toilet seat was not clean, thus smelled fungus odor , noted black fungus growing on the nozzle of washlet/ wish they provided body lotion/ cafeteria buffet area is very crowded in the morning. There is no starting line to serve their food, people run to each other and fight for the food from all directions . Especially Asian tourists were no manners and cut in the line I front of you to crab the food they want , really was awful! Told the manager to create starting line for food but nothing was done

Spectacular view of Sakurajima from the room.

The view of Sakurajima from the room was spectacular! We could see the age of the hotel but very clean. The restaurant on top floor was very formal that made us uncomfortable with jeans and shirt travel clothes, but the staff were very nice. The hot spring public bath was very nice overlooking Sakurajima volcano, and it was well equipped and very clean. Free Shuttle Bus to and from Kagoshima Chuou Station but not often as you want.

Friendly staff. Older hotel. Great spa

As others have said the hotel is a bit older. But it is worth it for the spa and great view of the volcano. Not that close to the main train station or Sakurajima port. The area near the port seems much more lively.

Great hotel with a view

It is a great HOTEL with a view of the volcano (from their hotspring room at least). It actually has a shuttle pick up from the main train station, but you don't know about it from its website, and not until you get to the hotel by taxi or a combination of city trains and walking. The hot spring opens only till 10am, which they won't tell you either, even you pay for the tax of its use, although just 150yen.

Good view on Sakurajima volcano is the great part of this hotel, and others are average level.

とても素晴らしかった。 特に温泉は水風呂、サウナもあり アメニティもよく最高だった。

建物は古そうでしたが、清掃やメンテナンスがしっかりされていて、古さは気になりませんでした。

外国人スタッフが何人かいて、笑顔が不自然で聞いている方は気疲れしました。全体として、建物は古いですが、内装はきれいになっており、特段不満はありません。部屋は狭いですが許容範囲。 朝食はいろいろな種類があり、鹿児島名産のものもたくさんあったので楽しめたのは良かったです。８時位だと朝食会場に入れない方が並んでいたようでした。 温泉は広く、混んでいないので良かったです。サウナも水風呂も良かったです。 ただ、注意書きはありましたが、男性更衣室に女性が何度も入ってきて居心地が悪かったです。業務であることは理解しますが、裸でいる人もいるので、国際的なことをウリにされているなら、外国人は驚くかと思うので、改善した方が良いかと思います。

前台員工服務良好，環境舒適

桜島を観ながら、朝の温泉に入れると、気持ちがいい。 市民文化センターに歩いて行けるため、当センターでイベントがある時は、いつも利用させて頂いている。 何人いらっしゃるか分かりませんが、外国の方もスタッフとしておられ、国際的な鹿児島らしさを感じるホテル。もちろん、日本語上手で対応バッチリ。

절대로 산전망에 테라스있는방으로 하십시오 도시전망은 방도 좁고 환기도 잘 안됩니다. 다음어 온다면 다른곳도 생각해 보겠습니다. 중심가(텐몬칸,중앙역)까지 셔틀이 있지만 그정도로 멀다는 뜻이기도 합니다. 전망온천은 실내에만 있고 규모는 객실수에 비해 작은편입니다. 그래도 사쿠라지마가 한눈에 들어오는건 정말 좋았습니다.

Can view the volcano island from Room. Purified water is prepared inside a clean boiler. Nice tea and coffee pick. The onsen at rooftop is smaller than I thought, but still nice, and it has steamed room. Since it is indoor onsen, the mist on window actually makes it hard to see the volcano. Shopping mall and outlet store nearby, some close at 9, the opening hour of shops nearby is comparatively long, quite convenient. It has free shuttle to pick up from JR station, supplement the shortcoming of location. Overall it’s nice with reasonable price for relaxation.

11階に宿泊、最上階にある大浴場への階段を昇る足音が若干うるさかった

酒店員工友善及用心，工作效率高，早餐質素好，溫泉設施可以望到櫻島火山，附近有兩個商場，也有很多食肆選擇，整體感覺很好。

温泉からの眺望が素晴らしい。部屋着が快適。朝のバイキングのお料理が美味しい。ホテルは駅から離れているが無料シャトルバスが鹿児島中央駅からホテルまであってよかった。

좋은 호텔입니다.

아주 좋은 호텔입니다. 친절하고 깔끔한 서비스는 미소를 짓게 합니다. 매일 매일 이용한 13층의 욕탕은 지친 몸을 깔끔하게 풀어주는 장소였습니다. 조식도 좋았습니다. 욕실의 환기 팬 소음을 멈출 수 없는 것이 하나의 단점이네요.

作りは古いかなと思いますが、綺麗です。温泉の大浴場もあり、疲れが取れて良いです。入浴できる時間ももう少し遅いと嬉しいかなとは思います。食事もホテル内でできるようでしたが料金がお高めだったため、外で済ませました。ホテル前から無料のシャトルバスが30分おきくらいにでているのでお出かけも気楽です。なんと言ってもスタッフの方全員が心地よい挨拶、接客をしてくれるので幸せな時間を過ごすことができました。

鹿児島を代表するホテルですね！ インバウンドのお客様が、多い様でした。

ロビーに待機し、案内してくれるスタッフの方々も、レストランのスタッフの方々も、親切で爽やかな対応でした。 展望風呂から桜島を望め、とても気持ちよかったです。 朝食ブッフェの鶏飯が美味しかった。 お部屋も清潔でよかったですが、正直、古さを感じるところがあり、そこだけ星を減らしましたが、問題はないレベルです。

価格のわりには清潔な設備と従業員の温かみの有る対応が印象的でした。リピート率確定です。

空港バスの乗り場がホテルの案内と違って希望時間に乗ることが出来なかった。
