The spa and wellness centre and the staff make this the best hotel in Hanoi. Special shout out to Thao from the executive lounge , she was so helpful and kind.

overall, it looks good but I need to highlight 2 things here : a - executive lounge shortage or baby chair, on 31 Dec, only one available b - breakfast variety but one of the staff attitude needed to be correct, as I requested him to help me put the hot chicken feet herbs soup on my plate but first, he wanted me to take it myself but it was hot, therefore I am requesting him to put onto my plate, he did it unwillingly finally. Excellent service, clean rooms and great restaurants!

The stay here was unlike anything we have ever experienced in any other JW Marriott properties. The staff is warm, knowledgeable and accommodating. Dining was exquisite. Buffett and Japanese cusine were memorable. Spa services including sauna, jacuzzi, steam rooms were comprehensive and tranquil. Location was a 30 minutes drive away from most Hanoi attractions. Live music and jazz club on site. Overall, it will be a worthwhile destination when in Vietnam for any traveler.

Most amazing stay at a JW Marriott hotel. As always true 5 star service, attentive staff, delightful generously sized rooms and the most comfortable beds. Breakfast selection as always wide and full of international cuisine. Spa was good quality and very well priced. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We could highly recommend staying at this hotel. We stayed with access to the Executive Club, and was the best club experience we have had. They staff were amazing, nothing was to much to ask for, and all they wanted to do was enhance your experience. We were very impressed.

Urban retreat

Great service throughout the hotel. The restaurants are delicious and the happy hour had great food. We loved the gym and pool, very spacious. It was nice to be away from the chaos of the city mopeds it was the perfect retreat in the city

I travelled with two small kids and was asked to pay room extra for them - this is ridiculous. And I also had to pay extra for their breakfast. We’ve stayed in many hotels around the world but never had to pay extra for the kids. The hotel was already overpriced. Staff were professional but artificially friendly in a negative sense that I felt uncomfortable. Absolutely not recommended.

Furniture is ok, I like grohe brand name. I dislike flower which has heavy mell.

We ate at several of the restaurants and all were very good. Especially the Buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner. there was a female server named Tutta , that remembered us everyday, she brought what we like to drink before we could ask for it! She remembered my wife and mother in law everytime as well. The whole group knew our name our room number from the room service people, to front desk people ,to restaurant hostess, and waiters and waitress . My wife and i own several companies around the globe including 4 restaurants in Houston Texas, and the staff we had in Hanoi was every bit as good as anyone we have encountered in the world from , Dubai , to Russia , to Singapore , to China . Great Job ! Especially to our friend in the breakfast Buffet Restaurant, Tutta !

WOW! - Fantastic 5 star hotel in every respect

This was truly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Hotel is modern, clean and rooms are spacious. Definitely earned its 5-star rating, would stay there again in a heart beat. Staff were friendly, efficient and overall very welcoming. The hotel is located outside of the downtown area, so taxi rides were needed to get to most places. This was my one concern when booking the hotel but discovered after staying in the Hanoi area it was nice to have a break from downtown noise. The breakfast buffet was the absolute best I have ever seen, almost too many choices and excellent food.

Far from Ideal Location-wise

The hotel has amazing facilities, with prompt & professional service as you'd expect from a 5-star hotel, but the location near the Hanoi Convention Centre some 30 - 45 mins away from Downtown Hanoi (Old Quarter) is far from ideal. Taxi fare to City Centre can cost up to 200k VND (one way) with very heavy traffic during rush hour (can take more than 1 hr). Local tour operators will refuse to pick-up/drop off at the hotel at start & end of your day's activities. The Lakeview rooms are also not worth the money; the views do not equal other 5* hotels facing Hanoi's West Lake. Very few restaurants in the immediate area so you will have to eat in-house and pay sky-high prices. Breakfast is extra but not worth the money in terms of "quality" of the offerings.

We stayed in the executive room, the executive lounge is great! Staff are polite, especially Andy in the JW cafe breakfast buffet, he introduced some Vietnamese local fruits to us. Just there is not much to do nearby the hotel.

Really excellent

5 star introduction to Hanoi. We enjoyed 5 nights at the JW Marriott and it was so relaxing - a welcome retreat from hustle and bustle. The staff were so helpful, friendly and attentive. I loved the zumba and yoga classes and being able to do the jog circuit. Dinner at Akira Black was out of this world - the food was a taste experience and Toto the maitre d was the ultimate host. I would recommend to anyone!

We had a lovely stay, but we were booking at the last moment, and the only thing which could have been better is the location!

The hotel is beautiful with so many amenities. The hotel staff is exceptional and helpful. We loved our short stay here. It is about 30 minutes by taxi to the Old Quarter (around $10 each way). The hotel has a free shuttle into the Old Quarter twice a day, but you have to find your way back.

Yes, Obama stayed here. So did other heads of states including Xi, Jin-Ping and Moon, Jae-In. China and South Korea's leaders, respectively. You can see many reasons why they chose this hotel if you stay here. Best English speaking staffs among Hanoi hotels, quiet rooms, super comfy beds, fantastic restaurants, etc. The breakfast buffet with beautiful view of outside was not bad at all. Can't really think anything bad except, possibly, a long walk from elevators to corner rooms. If you want privacy and security, gotta give up something.

The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel is a bit far from downtown but the area was quiet and open. The time we stayed was the New Year Holidays in Vietnam and most of the restaurants were closed , so we spent several meals at the hotel, not much choice cause only the coffee shop and the lounge were opened. The Chinese restaurant was very difficult to make reservations, the food served there were quite good. The hotel should consider to have the French Grill opened during the New Year Holidays ,may be just closed for the first 2 days but not all through. In general, we enjoyed our stay there.

We can find ZERO fault with our stay at this hotel. Amazing executive level rooms, with plush and luxurious furnishings and construction, every comfort and attentive service as needed and best breakfast buffet imaginable. A wonderful jewel in JW Mariott group.

Great resort experience in middle of a busy city

Had a very pleasant stay at JW Marriatt! The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Spa was also top notch as well as other amenities. Jason (Bell Desk) Ha and Hanna at executive lounge were very helpful and pleasant to us! 👍

My best hotel experience ever

Simply great hotel. I was well attended by the staff during my check-in, especially by one of their staff (forgot his name, he can speak my language Cantonese fluently and he's a mix) and got an upgrade to a huge room, made my Christmas stay impeccable. The pool looks great but I didn't have the chance to use it. Used their gym room which is nice as well. The outdoor area of the hotel is huge and nice, don't think the hotels in the Hanoi urban area can give you that. The lighting decor at night makes it even better. It's out of the main tourist area(around 30 mins taxi ride) but it's not a problem for us. It keeps us from the mad noisy traffic during our stay. Can't complain anything at all. The only hotel choice for me in Hanoi if I'm coming back next time.

Nice but not worth the cost

My room wasn't ready even after I arrived after 2 pm, so they asked if I wanted to pay for an upgrade. They saw how tired I was so they knew I wouldn't refuse. The suite was nice but definitely not worth the upgrade cost. Also, my final bill was riddled with so many expenses that I didn't approve or understand that I will not stay at another Marriott overseas.

Great 5 Star Hotel

Everything you come to expect from a 5 star hotel in Asia. The staff were fantastic and the facilities really were stunning. It is out of town, so for those who don't want to cab it into the centre each day probably not the right choice. We didn't mind this however as it was nice to escape the hustle and bustle and let's face it cab fares are not significant. We loved our stay. Thank you.

Excellent hotel in Hanoi

Our experience with the hotel was seamless. The room was spacious and well-arranged, the food was the best experience we had in the whole of Vietnam and we loved the hotel facilities such as the big lap-pool and the steam and hot water pool. We had a truly relaxing couple of days at the Marriott and we hope to be back soon.

This hotel was AMAZING. We were extremely happy with everything. Bella in The Lounge, Tu was amazing. The breakfast buffet had so many options, totally worth it. There was not one thing we were unhappy with. I felt like we were in heaven at this hotel. Top notch service.

Convention and comfortable Hotel

To attend a conference held in the hotel. Restaurant excellent, sound system in the conference hall has room for improvement, other facilities are good.

Dim sum must try

It spend more than 16 min to check in. Reason is the hotel didn't have my reservation number from hotel.com. Compare to hostel near old quarter more faster and no much waiting time. Suggest both party need well communicate to reduce customer "waiting" time. However the staff forward my "reservation number email " from hotel.com to JW front desk email and solve this issue. Can't imagine right ? Am select this hotel as got best dim Sim in Hanoi. The dim sum here delicious and with good service. Congee, char sao bun ...Must try...

Definitely a sure returned hotel when I'm in Hanoi

The service staff were extremely friendly and up to standard. The wide spread of buffet for breakfast and lunch made all spoilt for choices.

Excellent hotel

The hotel is superb. !! It is an oasis I the middle of chaotic Hanoi. It is little further from old Quarter but Uber did the rest. It was very unexpensive taxi service. Buffet was excellent !!

My partner lost his wallet in an uber as we came to the hotel. We told the front desk as we had to go out for an appointment. They contacted the driver and got the wallet returned to the hotel. When returned to the hotel everything was in the wallet. The hotel also upgraded us. While everything was excellent, the staff was truly exceptional. Perhaps the best experience I have ever had in any hotel.

Great hotel, but very far from the center

The hotel has excellent facilities, spectacular pool with a view and wonderful buffet breakfast, both western and Asian breakfast items. Location wise, it is close to what is sometimes called new business district and Landmark tower, but very far from main business area or anything of tourist interest. Plan for a 40 minute taxi.
