Fine for families

This property had a beautiful view, but it lacked soul or atmosphere - it felt like a bit like you could be anywhere and the small bar area upstairs was mostly vacant. We ate in the Chinese restaurant both nights as as we do not like buffet dinners - and if the breakfast buffet is anything to go by then it's nothing to write home about. The service was great - lovely people. If you are a big family and don't want to feel conscious about making noise, with a laid back buffet area and plenty of grass for the kids to run around on, morning and night, this could be the place for you.

Lovely view and pool Wish I had more time there!

My stay at the Jetwing Lake was truly exceptional and easily the best hotel experience I've ever had. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always greeting me with a smile and going out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel's location was perfect, surrounded by nature and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The serene and tranquil atmosphere made for a peaceful and restorative stay. The room itself was quiet and well-appointed, with stunning views from my balcony that left me in awe every morning. The wifi worked fine, not super fast but fast enough. I was also getting a good 4G signal on my phone. The breakfast was a highlight of my stay - delicious and varied, with plenty of options to suit all tastes. Overall, the Jetwing Lake exceeded my expectations in every way possible. If you're looking for a hotel that provides a perfect blend of rest, relaxation, and nature, this is the place for you.

Paradise

Perfect paradise. From the moment of arrival, you know you are showing up to someplace special. The photos online do not do justice. I am a full time digital nomad that has travelled the world for the last 4 years, and this is a stand out place that I have been. You are greeted with a choice of welcome drinks. The lobby is open air outside and you can see the beautiful landscape. The staff was friendly and professional and make you feel very welcome. I was then shown to my room and told about the property along the way. I don’t know how many times I said WOW on the walk to the room and once in the room. The views from the room are stunning. I booked the Deluxe King, it overlooks the lake and pool and a mountain. The trees on the property are large and sound so nice swaying in the breeze. You can hear the sound of the water flowing over the pool and the sounds of peacocks and other animals in the distance with very soft piano music over by the restaurant. The pool is insanely clean, a perfect temperature and depth. The food is all delicious and beautifully prepared. You are a really close distance to the cave temples, which are some of the most beautiful and impressive temples I have ever seen. I am usually quite picky when it comes to reviews, but this place is amazing and I even extended my stay for a night. I saw others talking about it being dated or not being a resort, I don’t find that to be true. If anything, it has an industrial vintage feeling.

Pictures just don't do justice to this magnificent place. We've had one of the best Breakfast and Dinner buffets ever. And I hate buffets. Big rooms, great views. Overall way better than expected.

Excellent property. The road from the main highway to the hotel needs to be mended. It’s scary drive during night especially when it’s raining heavily.

Stunning! The hotel is situated on a beautiful site overlooking a lake. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. So romantic to watch an evening thunderstorm from out balcony. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend.

We had a beautiful suite for our couple of days seeing the old kingdoms of Sri Lanka using Dambulla as our base. The hotel is absolutely fabulous. Wonderfully clean, fabulous pool. Our only problem is that the restaurant was fine if you like buffet - which we don't. The a la carte menu is expensive and was probably 6 out of 10 for us... There is not a lot of restaurants around this place. But overall we loved it and had a great stay

Just wow. As I’ve said about the other jetwing properties - I really have nothing to complain about! And the pool.....it’s ginormous!!!! 100% stay here if you’re in the area during your trip to Sri Lanka

Pleasant Hotel

This hotel is lovely, nice view from room with serene surroundings during breakfast. The hotel room is especially clean and comfortable! The hotel team is just as wonderful and friendly. Do note a car is definitely a must as the hotel is located quite a distance from main road.

Nice property, nice view from the room. We had the deluxe room king bed on the top floor. There are no sun loungers on the balcony like on the picture and if you want one it’s upon request. I’ll suggest the hotel to put the plants on the balcony on the side because when you seat on the chairs it’s hiding the view.

Fantastic hotel - we hope to return one day!

Fabulous stay at Jetwing Lake. The hotel is in a beautiful and remote setting with stunning views. The staff will go to great lengths to make sure your stay is perfect. The pool is a good size and the gym also well equipped. Our top tips would be: Do book breakfast and dinner as the hotel is in a rural area with few alternatives. The food at the hotel is very very good, including Sri Lankan options. Our second tip is to completely ignore the weather forecast as it is frequently inaccurate!

What a great surprise this was. An amazing hotel very well located to explore Sri Lankan's cultural triangle. Service was impeccable and the room spacious and extremely comfortable. Great swimming pool! Breakfast was great, but overall the meals were also at the same level (the Chinese themed restaurant was ok). Excellent! (stayed for 3 nights, March 2019)

BEAUTIFUL Property. Right on the lake and all the rooms have such a spectacular view with floor to wall ceilings. Food at the buffet was fantastic. It's not in Dambulla, but it's a great hotel if you want to see Lion's Rock or any of the ancient cities. The price was also great.

Stunning views

Fantastic hotel, we had an amazing view over the lake. Rooms are beautiful and spacious. All the food we had was great too. Loved the 75m pool, again breathtaking views out to the lake.

Modern hotel in peaceful setting

New and modern hotel very close to Dambulla caves. Excellent base for exploring the cultural triangle. Very peaceful setting with an amazing long pool. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Friendly service but inexperienced (as in most places in Sri Lanka). Good buffet breakfast. I totally recommend this hotel.

The hotel was superb! We had a pleasant and comfortable stay here for a couple of nights, with a room view that was amazing! Definitely recommend this hotel!

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location

I want to keep this hotel to myself because it was so fabulous! Situated on its own lake, the location is stunning with views from every room as well as the pool. They do a great job protecting the local environment and adhering to high environmental standards. The rooms are spacious and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The food is quite good but the spa services are even better. The hotel is also well-positioned for all of the sight seeing in the area. The only minor thing I'll note is that the English of the staff is not as fluent as in other hotels in Sri Lanka. But, with patience you are well taken care of.

Perfect end to our trip

The hotel is very modern with an excellent (and huge) pool. We loved our room, the bathroom was amazing. It was great to have views of the lake and the distant mountains whilst in the shower. We enjoyed the range of choices available for breakfast (especially the Sri Lankan breakfast).

Classy/ excellent service

At first you don’t see how amazing this hotel is but when you walk up the stairs you are greeted with flowers, welcome drink snd smiles. On our stay we experienced excellent Customer service, amazing food as well as options for gluten free (chef came to speak with me personally), pool is huge overlooking the lake and lovely landscape. Close by to dambulla, sygriya and safaris. Wish we stayed longer. didn’t expect this level of quality, we will go back when in Sri Lanka.

Excellent resort in Dambulla

The room was well designed and spacious; the food at the restaurant was excellent. It’s a perfect base to explore the Dambulla Cave Temple and other sights in the vicinity.

Enjoyed the long pool for swimming laps, food selection for breakfast and dinners was very good, room very spacious and had lovely views over the mountains.

Beautiful view from every room, the rooms very spacious and we woke up to a beautiful view every morning. We ventured out for excursions so didn’t stay in the hotel much other than for breakfast and dinner. Staff were friendly but felt attentiveness was lacking after day 1. Food was bland and The local cuisine was lacking in flavour and variety, would have liked to have had more variety in local cuisine. No entertainment as it’s not really a resort.

Lovely oasis to come back to.

The size and the furnishings of the room are excellent. Amazing pool to come back to and you can sit outdoor till even 8pm and swim. Staff were very friendly. A little away from town and but forget away from the tourists spots. Bar was generally quiet. They have a Chinese restaurant and one main restaurant which pretty much always does buffet but can get a la carte too. We started our trip here so did not realize how good the buffet was compared to other places. I would come back and stay here.

Beautiful area

Beautiful property in a beautiful location yet close to Dambulla. Amazing pool! Comfortable rooms / atmospheric bathrooms! with great views of lake and distant mountains. Only negative- the chinese restaurant- needs some improving. Lovely staff- smiling, helpful, welcoming.

Great stay

We chose this hotel as a base to visit the sights in the cultural triangle (Anuradhapura, Sigirya etc). Hotel staff were friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean and the buffets (breakfast and dinner) were oustsanding.

Excellent modern hotel

We took a deluxe room on the top floor of the Jetwing Lake. All mod cons, and spacious and comfortable. The hotel is relatively new, beautifully constructed of modern and traditional materials, all quite delightful. Although situated on a small lake, there were no mosquitoes during our visit (late February). The peaceful location was close to the UNESCO Dambulla Caves, and Sirigaya rock. Pollonaruwa ruined city was about an hour away by car. Also an hour away was Kaudulla National Park, where we were lucky enough to see a herd of some 40 elephants, close up. The hotel staff were universally helpful and charming, and the food was excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

Wonderful spacious hotel

Beware of the rooms on ground floor, as everyone by the pool can see in. Ask for an upper room. Otherwise excellent.

Clean and friendly staff

Great hotel with great view to the lake. Ensure you take insect bite with you (before and after ) as you can't find it in Sri- Lanka. Nice welcome by staff with drinks and towel. Best hotel in Dambulla.

Beautiful location, below standard service

New property. Beautiful location. Gorgeous sunset/sunrise by the lake surrounded by mountains. Decent breakfast and dinner buffet spread. However, hotel staff not properly trained. Took ages for check-in/check-out. Some can't even understand simplest of requests explained in simple language - had that experience more than once. Definitely not 4.5 or 5 star experience.

Stay at Dambulla

Experience was good. Good hotel with clean maintenance and a big pool. A lavish spread in the main restaurant for buffet breakfast and dinner. Had breakfast and dinner there during my stay. Toiletries are refilled in glass bottles on request and each bottle costs LKR 250 if one wants to pick them up. Be careful with the $ - LKR conversions while making payments.
