Fantastic front desk staff.
Good
Surrounding area not very nice
I likes that it was very close to the Villamarta and across the street from a tablao that has shows late at night. It was convenient to walk back when shows ended at 1am .
Muy buen lugar y confiable
Very clean, friendly employees & perfect location for sites, food & shopping.
I had stayed there before. There was a restaurant and not there wasn't. It did not seem "happy" like before ...Covid..
Mini fridge didn’t work
Like very much the situation near the centre. Room very comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Pleased there is no extra charge for the safe. Lovely three area shower. Would have liked an English speaking channel on the television, such as BBC World Service.
Jerez Trip
Staff friendly and accomodating. Room was medium sized beds were comfortable Breakfast great variety really enjoyed The only thing is that we would have liked a kettle in the room
Excellent staff.
The front desk check-in was very nice and they told us several fun things to do in Jerez. The breakfast was also watched closely and food replenished and kept very clean and sanitary.
Pleasant stay
Great location, easy walk from the train station and central to attractions. Room was fine as well as wifi.
We loved the breakfast each morning and found it met all our needs. The bed could have been a little less firm but was supportive. The location was ideal and the staff was quite friendly & helpful.
An oasis in the heart of town
This is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of Jerez de la Frontera. The staff were very friendly and made a real fuss of our two pets. The food was lovely and the hotel is bursting with character. Although the parking was a bit of a pain we managed to sort it out. My only complaint is that we could not leave the dogs alone in the room which meant that my husband and I had to have our meals separately which was very disappointing!
Sensible stay
We had a sensible stay at the Itaca, centric a few blocks to public parking, main plaza and an easy walk to the Alcazar, Catedral and Tío Pepe Bodega. Numerous restaurants to chose in the vicinity and plaza.
We couldn't stay at the hotel as our flights were cancelled i & out of Jerez airport. We did request a refund earlier but were refused.
Stunning hotel
Stunning hotel full of character, perfect location with centre of town a few minutes walk away and a secure underground parking lot at 5 minutes walk. Can't wait to return!
Good location . Underground parking near . Near many cultural site , and good restaurants.
Great location and good price - we have stayed here several times in the last few years and although it is still in reasonably good condition, it would benefit from a refresh?
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very clean however no hot water first morning, no replacement coffee until the forth day for coffee machine and lightbulb on bedside never changed despite reporting these problems twice. Also we were in room 203 on corner of building and it was very noisy from 6am with buses idling and service lorries stopping by the square opposite. I'm sure it would have been quiet in other rooms further away.
Nice clean room and bathroom. Shame the terrace bar was shut and not even any chairs left up there to just enjoy the view.
We are with motorcycle traveling from one place to the other staying for a night or two. This hotel was terrible! In a perfect place in jerez
Good location in the Old City and all the interesting areas of Jerez, Cathedral, Azcabal, Sherry tasting and producers all within a few minutes walk.
Did not like the location. The hotel was in the part of town that was old and surrounded by bankrupt stores.
The hotel was in a good location. Parking was nearby. The Breakfast was very disappointing. Overall the hotel was ok for the one night that we spent there while touring.
Short break
Nice hotel, friendly staff
March trip
Great central location, friendly staff
Room on first floor was dark, no real view, window faced a yard...
The hotel staff recommended at least 4 points of interest and restaurants that ended up being beyond our expectations. They are so friendly. The rooms are very clean. I also love that the mirrors do not fog up after shower. I will definitely be back. Stayed in room 118. Showerhead could be better and I wish the half glass on the shower would swing but these are not that big of a deal.
Convenient location, lovely room in old convent, helpful staff, incredible breakfast Great value too!
Great use of historic venue, large airy rooms for Spain, but a little bit North American for my tastes. Loved the small balcony. Typical of a hotel of this category you had to pay for anything extra. With so many "Spanish"properties I would not stay again. Needs better signage, and the web image shows it as it was not as is, causing me to walk around in circles.
Excellent Location and friendly staff
Close enough to the train station so you can walk to the hotel (or inexpensive taxi if heavy luggage) and also close to plenty of restaurants towards the town centre. The hotel DOES NOT have a parking on site but there is a very convenient parking 5 minutes away. The breakfast is "good" and has enough variety to meet most people's needs. I would suggest the hotel to make clearer they do have gluten free bread on demand. I did not like too much the pillows but I am sure if I had told the front desk they would have sorted it out. It wasn't a deal breaker so I did not mentioned it. :) The hotel is located where a convent used to be so thee are quite nice features left in different areas of the hotel. Due to daily changes in temperature I had to use both air conditioning and heater during my stay and both worked perfectly. I had a very nice stay.
In the center of Jerez close to everything- nice spacious room, clean and comfortable. Helpful staff.Unique property was once a convent.
Comfortable hotel in a good location between the town centre and railway station. Nice building. Just disappointed by the unwelcoming reception on arrival. Good breakfast buffet but terrible coffee.
Great location, good price, and good breakfast. Hotel advertises free parking but that is NOT the case. There is only free street parking late night through early morning.
Convenient hotel-train & bus
Not a 4 star hotel anymore, still OK though. Close to town center. Our room was quiet, bed comfortable. Good stay for the money. Good breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.
Good for station and City Centre
Nice hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. A little over a five minute walk to the train and bus station - excellent services to Cadiz, Seville and Chipolina. Comfortable room but slightly basic. Good to have a fridge in the room with reasonably priced soft drinks. Nice reception area and quiet location. No view from our window - some may have looked over the local square. Jerez is pretty compact and an interesting walk through the market to the centre and lots of restaurants.
Good location
Decent for a couple of days, great location walking distance from the train station and to the town centre.
Great location.
Very close to centre of Jerez and only a short walk to the train and bus station for trips to Sanlucar and Cadiz
Very appealing hotel in a converted convent
This hotel has lots of character owing to its past history as a convent. Many unique architectural touches and the renovation is quite modern and stylish.
Good central location. Close to rail/bus services.
This hotel is NOT worth 4 stars. It is a poor B and B. You enter the hotel via a dark and forbidding foyer. Welcome! The breakfast selection is limited. A fried egg is 'impossible'. We eventually decided to pay for breakfast at another hotel. The lounge is cramped and unattractive, the roof garden is unfurnished, and is not used. We shall not return. Ever.
The air conditioning kept on shutting down, so it was difficult to sleep.
Very good hotel in Jerez
Great location between the rail / bus stations (9 minutes) and the town centre (5 minutes). Car Parking could be a problem though, metered streets and underground parking in town. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Everything clean and tidy. Good breakfast in the old chapel, of what was a convent, nice atmosphere and character throughout the building, which has been thoughtfully modernised. We enjoyed our 7 night stay, visiting Seville, Cadiz, Sanlucar and of course the Tio Pepe sherry centre in Jerez. Great centre for a short break using public transport.
Lovely hotel near to the centre of Jerez
Had a lovely one night stay here. Room was very comfortable and the hotel was so unusual and full of character. Jerez was full of history with great tapas bars.
Great Jerez Hotel
We stayed overnight at this hotel for a short visit to Jerez. It is located on a lovely square with flags over the doorway, very easy to find from the train and bus station and a short walk to the main sights. Staff were friendly at check in, our room was spacious and the bathroom was very nice with a good shower. We were staying on a room only basis so did not breakfast at the hotel.
Very convenient location, near Rail and Bus station and easy walk to centre. Restaurant menu looked quite good but we didn't actually eat there. No outside seating but nice garden square with plenty of space to sit in the sun opposite Hotel.
Great central location
Situated close to the city centre in an old building that has been completely modernised to a very high standard. The Itaca hotel, Jerez was exceptional value for money.
Great location, comfortable, friendly staff
Overall, a really nice hotel. It was in a great location. A 10 minute walk to the train station, and 10 minutes to the main plaza with lots of fantastic restaurants. The air conditioner worked really well, which was important since the temps were near 40C. I only gave the room a 3 for comfort because the bed was 2 twins pushed together. They slid apart easily on the laminate floor. The room would have received a 4 if the bed was an actual King or even a Queen.
Nice hotel on a quiet square
The Hotel Itaca was in a good location on a quiet square within a short walk of some good restaurants and bars. The hotel was very good, the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with excellent choices to suit all tastes. Walking around Jerez is very easy and interesting with lots of lovely little streets and squares and plenty of cafes and restaurants. The Bodegas are worth visiting and Cathedral and Alcazar. We didn't manage to visit the Equestrian School, but plan to visit Jerez again soon.
Good overall but a very disappointing bar and restaurant in evening
Good Stay
We had a good stay at Hotel Itaca. We had three rooms on the ground floor. All of the rooms were large and clean. The people who worked at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We parked our car in an underground public lot a few blocks away and walked during our stay in Jerez. The daily charge was about 15 Euros, which seemed reasonable. Breakfast was pretty standard and good. They had several different types of pastries each day. The hotel is pretty close to the train and bus stations and not far from good restaurants, which were recommened by the hotel. It is also convenient to sherry bodegas for tastings. Overall it was a good place to stay.
Nice hotel in beautiful Jerez
Nice modern hotel with old elements just outside the heart of the old city. Not too far from the train and bus station. Service in the breakfast room could be more attentive!
Ideal for the centre of Jerez
A welcoming hotel, located conveniently for the main sites of Jerez and also within easy walking distance of the railway station if you plan to go further afield.
Fab location and superb staff!
The staff was fantastic and the location was superb. Easy walk to everything we wanted to see, including a couple of the bodegas for sherry tastings. Only issue for us was that the air conditioning was weak and therefore we had a hard time sleeping with how hot it was. When we opened the windows there was too much street noise, so that wasn't an option.
Ideal hotel for Jerez sightseeing
Great location for sights, and lovely rooms in an old monastery. Good value for money, but parking pricy - over €14 a day.
central location for centre and train station
A pleasant modern hotel conversion from a monastery , but is now due for some attention in many quarters , example beautiful statue in reception sitting on a glass floor ,the glass has large crack in it ,our air con ducting grill hanging out of wall , our coffee maker in room was broken but swiftly replaced. we stayed here 7 days half board which was a mistake as the menu never changed and I think all food was just microwaved on saying that it looked good and tasted ok.if you was only staying a couple of days it would be okay, but there so many excellent tapas bars in town and prices are great . The breakfast is excellent if you are a big eater, plenty of choice ,staff were ok . Not a place to stay with a car unless you are prepared to pay parking .
Surprised this is 4 star
Room was very basic and the bathroom was a bit of a state (the bath tube had large black stains). For a one night stay it was ok, but I am sure there are nicer hotels out there, I am very surprised this has a 4 star rating.
Good location
Pleasant hotel close to Station and the town centre so ideal for shot stay. Friendly staff
Convenient location
Easy walk to Teatrovillamarta made it an ideal hotel for Flamenco festival.
Sherry Country
The location alone is worth the money, effort and the time, as the Hotel Itaca is walking distance from the bus/train station and several remarkable restaurants, tabancos, and sites. Aesthetically the hotel is rather modern and maintains such characteristics very well. More than any other notable feature however, is the staff. They could not have expressed greater kindness, understanding, and accommodation. This detail is especially important as several of my transportation plans went a rye while traveling throughout the iberian peninsula. I highly recommend this hotel. And to the hotel staff that helped me throughout several of my travel plans, i cannot thank you enough.
Hotel,.
Do not eat in the Hotel`s adjoining Restaurant. The service was appalling and the food had to be returned. PLUS:- Do NOT order the Hotels HOUSE WINE, Vinegar, decanted from boxed cartons. Check the cork!!!! Breakfast was excellent, although the bread/rolls were being laid @ 10pm the night before, cling wrapped of course.
Great hotel overall
Great hotel overall but the air conditioning in the room was absolutely terrible, and barely had any impact on the room temperature---something which was crucial for us in 40 degree Celsius weather. A fan would have even been better. Otherwise, the room itself was very spacious and very clean. The hotel had a nice, clean and modern feel and was very close (within walking distance) to the main sites, great restaurants and the sherry tours.
Switcho-Changoo
We arrived at the hotel and, after waiting for someone to come to the front desk, were advised, for some unexplained reason, that our reservation had been switched to another hotel. We selected, booked, and paid for this hotel specifically for its location and convenience (close to the train station and the sherry bodegas). However, our "new" hotel was much further away and not convenient at all.
Short break away
The hotel ... is really good value .. and i enjoyed the stay . It is postioned in a great position in Jerez so it is easy to get around ... Parking is nearby and is a reasonable cost .
Spacious room with comfy bed, convenient location
Had a lovely stay at this hotel, conveniently located at 10 min walk from the railway and bus station (for day trips to Cadiz, Arcos de la Frontera and other surroundings) as well as to the city centre. Good service, super spacious and quiet room (though overlooking the street) with comfy bed and massage shower, only one con: very weak wifi signal in the rooms. Also check the fridge is working, mine was not. On the aesthetic side, this hotel is mainly a modern fit out of an old building of traditional character and personally think that character should have been better retained.
close to the Villamarta theatre and train station
It is our fourth stay at the hotel. It is always excellent. Location, fabulous breakfast, friendly staff and great location make this hotel a treasure.
excellent value
Very happy. Great city. Very good hotel
Good value for money
Good hotel, centrally located. Good kitchen. Comfortable room.
Good hotel
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was in a good condition with a comfortable bed and a useful express breakfast option. Located close to the centre and train station.
Overall a very nice stay
The hotel's location was absolutely perfect for our purpose, which was to spend a couple nights in the city to visit both it and Cádiz. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the train station, plus very close to the main plazas downtown. Overall, the hotel was very nice. The rooms were comfortable (one of ours came with a sofa, which we were not expecting), their size was good, and the climate control worked very nicely. My only complaint was that you could easily hear everything going on in the hallways - they echoed quite a bit, plus my room happened to be right next to the room on the floor where the cleaning staff keeps their supplies, which was quite loud as they were getting everything together early in the morning. For someone who's not a light sleeper, however, I don't think it would be a problem in the least. Even with that one issue, I would definitely stay here again if we ever came back to Jerez.
Good location
Good location midway between station and old town. Very easy to get around. Would stay here again
Jerez
It was a good hotel. It was a good hotel. it was a good hotel. is this long enough. How bloody stupid.
great hotel, great room and great breakfast. Close to Villamarta theatre and even train station. All walkable. We stay here every year.
Quiete and
I loved my stay at this Hotel. The personnel was very kind. It is well located, between barrio San Miguel and Santiago, 5 min walking from Teatro Villamarta and 3 min from Train station, by taxi. A good place to stay during the Flamenco festival. The place was very clean, but the cleaning personnel was coming a little too early for me (9h30 in the morning). Good for those who want to be a little away from the action, but still near from the touristic spots. Perfect for business trips. Very quiete.
GP Testing
Was a short stay the hotel was very nice and in a good location
Great place to stay
Our first trip to Jerez and we picked a beautiful hotel. Very tastefully modernised but retaining the character of the old convent. Will definitely stay here if we come back to Jerez..Very convenient for the railway statiPaulon nd city centre.
Great value
A stylish hotel in a converted convent....beautifully and cleverly executed. Rooms very comfortable. Good location for walking around central town. Was difficult to find good eateries nearby or indeed anywhere in Jerez. Staff particularly helpful.
Very convienient for centre
Our stay was very enjoyable with charming staff, good food and spotless rooms. Will certainly return.
Friendly Comfort In Jerez
Itaca is a very pleasant hotel, well located within walking distance of the city center and the chief tourist attractions of Jerez. Staff are competent and friendly. Most have good English. We had a room at the front overlooking the square. Road traffic was a bit noisy at night and the wifi signal was rather weak. You could always close the windows but I loved the cool fresh air and decided the traffic noise could be tolerated although not everybody might agree. The weak wifi was more of a pain after one has chosen a hotel that proudly boasts free wifi - but that would be our only complaint.
close to everything
We loved this hotel!! Its is ultra modern but in the heart of the old town of Jerez. Only a one night stay but would def return!! Very close to everything and easy to find and park nearby.
Modern, great service, close to old town and train
The front desk staff was excellent. The rooms are clean and modern. Biggest room during my trip in Spain. It is really close to (2 block) old town and is within walking distance of the train station.
A very good centre for any Odysseus & his Penelope
A very good hotel with a very helpful staff. Ideal location for getting around the town, Lack of parking was irritating. The hotel needs to find proper off street parking for all its residents. The bathroom was very smart but a bit awkward to use. An armchair would have been useful in the bedroom.
A great stay.
Our visit at the Itaca Hotel Jerez was tops from beginning to end. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. Even though our son spoke Spanish, the staff gladly spoke English with my wife and I. The hotel was clean, attractive, and well maintained. The check in and check out process was excellent. Our room overlooked a beautiful plaza. The Wifi worked well.
Itaca Hotel, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain
Itaca Hotel at Jerez is very conveniently located within 5-10 minutes of the train and bus stations. The only bus to Jerez from Granada on Easter Saturday arrived at 11.30 pm. A friend had called the hotel to explain my late arrival time, and the staff had no problem with this. When i arrived in Jerez, I could see no taxis. With the assistance of a bus passenger who pointed out which road i needed to take, I walked from the station to the hotel and felt completely safe. The Domingo de Pascua (Easter Sunday) processions all happened within a kilometer or so of the hotel, so the location was great. There are also many great cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, as well as key places of interest to visit. Jerez was my favourite city in Spain, and I would definitely stay at the Itaca Hotel again.
itaca hotel jerez
nice hotel. the service is not so good. One of the the 2 parking places situated in front of the entrance is permanently ocupated with a white seat station propriety of a hotel employee.
Very pleased, especially for the price
I have definitly paid much more for far less. This hotel was very nice, and clean and stylish for an extremely good price.
very modern hotel
I got a good feeling as soon as i entered the hotel. the person at the reception was very helpful guided us well on what to see. everything is within walking distance. I would definately recommend the hotel
Hotel Itaca Jerez Spain
Booked on the recommendation of a friend and not disappointed. Booked room only, for one night, so can not comment on quality of food. Ideally situated for centre of Jerez 10 min walk from main square. Twin bedroom with plenty of character. Hotel has a lot of charm both inside and out. Staff very friendly and their English was much better than my Spanish! You have to pay 11 Euros for parking in nearby underground car park that is 5 mins walk from hotel (you get a swipe card that you place against the ticket machine to gain entry) but this was only a minor inconvenience compared to the overall location of the hotel. For the price paid this was a good deal and made our stay in Jerez very enjoyable.
nice clean and good location
easy to get to and from, location down town 15min to airport. with car. Small rooms and bathrooms but quite.
Great location for a great price
The hotel was a very pleasant surprise, the modern interior contrasting with the outer facade and local area. Very quiet a great place to unwind after festivities. The location close to the local shopping areas and sights make this a great base for discovering Jerez, convenient to the motorway network also.
The Itaca Hotel - worthy to be recommended
close to see sights, clean, not expensive hotel, ten minutes walk from the bus station ans five minutes walk from the old town
Nice hotel, room a little on the
Nice hotel, room a little on the small side but still adequate. Very small bar but a great breakfast. Great location for visiting the old town area. Car parking a few hundred metres away in reserved bays in multi storey but no great problem. Would stay here again if back in Jerez.
Beautiful & central
Jerez is a small city, so central location is relatively easy to accomplish. This hotel is a short walk from the train station, and we arrived without any trouble. This hotel was a great find, at a fraction of the usual price. We saw a price list for the room and almost fainted.. so make sure you go for the discount!
Nice hotel in central location
The hotel is an attractive old building, although the rooms have been furnished in a modern style. It's convenient for all the main sights - the Alcazar, Tio Pepe bodega, the cathedral and the shopping area, and it's also only a short walk from the train and bus stations. The rooms have air-con/heating and also a couple of UK/US TV news channels, but the shower wasn't particularly powerful. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of breads and pastries. Overall a good choice for a stay in Jerez.
Room was fantastic.
Room was fantastic.
Lovely retreat right in town
good hotel, good value. good location from town centre, and to bus and train. good breakfast. If you use google to look for it, it was called Barcelo group.- do not be confused
Friendly and helpful front desk, wonderful service! The staff here really what made our stay at the Itaca a positive experience, they really make you feel comfortable and at ease. The rooms are starting to get a bit tired now, and I imagine that a refurbishment won't be far off as it seems t have been bought recently by a chain, but they are still nice and clean. The main issue we had was that we couldn't get the shower over the bath working, and ended up changing rooms about 4 times that evening until we (and the concierge) gave up and moved into a shower only room. I am sure the first few showers did work, it is just that neither us nor the hotel concierge could work out how. But it was all dealt with in such a pleasant and friendly manner, that it is difficult to hold it against them. The beds are a bit odd, as they have a tedency of sliding forward on the wooden floor if you lean against the headboard, but comfortable enough. The location is brilliant, very close to town with a nice plaza nearby, the only thing that isn't that close is the equestrian school and the bullring, but distances in Jerez are never that far.
Amazing service
Front desk lady was extremely friendly and helpful (and good looking - according to my husband...). Cool modern decor.
Great hotel
Very nice hotel -- extremely convenient for those wanting to see sights and are traveling by train
Right near the cen3if town for the sherry bodegas, dining and shopping. The train station is a quick 10 minute walk from the hotel.
