Dipesh and team were wonderful. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Even added some perks and complimentary upgrades! Wonderful staff. The view from our room was absolutely gorgeous. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family. One area of improvement - I wish they would allow hotel residing guest to make reservations at the dining places, especially when guests pay to enjoy the view. One of the reason I picked this hotel was for dome. But couldn’t get a preferred seat so was a bit let down.

Comfortable stay at Intercontinental Mumbai

Superb service, helped us check-in early too. Our room was spotless. Our sink broke during our trip and whilst we were out for the day a new one was installed. The staff are very attentive here too. Breakfast options at Intercontinental Mumbai offer a wide variety. The rooftop bar also offers great views of the bay. We would stay here again!

My husband and I booked the king suite for our wedding night and were extremely disappointed in the staff. The service was terrible and we were surprised since we expected the intercontinental to be one of the better hotels in Mumbai. Although the room was beautiful the employees are not trained properly. We did not have coffee cups in our room. The In room dining menu was not linked to a website and the website had a lot of typos. We only stayed for 9 hours after our wedding and had multiple bad encounters in such a short stay but the worst was that we had dropped of a bottle of Dom Perignon the day before the wedding and requested to have it stored in the fridge and when we came on our wedding night we wanted to have it with the glasses and a bucket of ice. We had called before dropping the wine off explaining our request, we explained the request again when the bottle was dropped off and then even after dropping it off we called again to confirm that the bottle would be stored in the fridge. That night after our long wedding we were not congratulated by the staff and were given the champagne warm. We were very upset as you would imagine a hotel of this caliber would know that a wedding night bottle of Dom Perignon would want to be enjoyed cold. This is something we won’t be able to get back. No effort was taken by staff to make our wedding night special, not a note, a word or a rose and our request for cold champagne were ignored. Embarrassing service.

staff tries but hotel miss the mark for 5 star

The front desk staff were great and tried to help me get my luggage from delhi to goa. However, the biggest misses for this stay were 1) woke up at 3am to banging noises from ceiling, when shared with supervisor, i had to send whatsapp video as proof and then they didn’t make a fair compensation 2) they gave me a 2nd floor room that directly faces another old building, i did not feeling comfortable as a female guest changing in that room, they should be more considerste of their guests’ privacy. 3) breakfast buffet was great but the dome’s food was mediocre (music and cocktails were great), lunch menu was so-so 4) pool was closed for construction while I was there

The pleasant, courteous and professional comportment of the staff. This create a uniquely agréable and welcoming atmosphere. The variety and quality of the food was generally very good. We have no negative comments or suggestion for improvement.

Loved our stay here. Property is in a perfect location. Walkable to trendy restaurants and tons of shopping! Stayed here with my mum for 4-5 days and we had zero complaints! The best part of the hotel is it's staff...lovely and helpful. They were beyond wonderful!

Full marks to Habib - working at breakfast time great customer service and very encouraging at trying indian breakfast food. During our stay one restaurant was booked by a private party - fair enough - but would be good to know in advance so that us hotel guests can plan our eating arrangements!

The staff was very hospitable every step of our trip from check in to dining to hailing rides. The service at the breakfast buffet was the right balance of attentive and speed. One of our servers also recommended local eats and prepared special local dishes for us that was the best food I've eaten in Mumbai. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Very nice property.

Liked the location. The room had an awful view and despite requesting an upper floor we were assigned a room on the second floor. I suspect that may be related to the "expedia penalty" (i.e., getting second class treatment for booking through Expedia rather than directly with the hotel. I will keep this in mind when I plan future trips.

NOT up to Inter-Continental standards, although the staff is very friendly. Numerous problems during the stay.

Amazing stay

The staff is very welcoming. Checkin was easy and we were served with a welcome drink. The stay was comfortable and the view from the room was spectacular. They have a restaurant on 2nd floor, a nice rooftop bar and in-room dining option too.

Liked Everything 10/10

Disappointing

The room did not have enough lighting for my wife to do her make up. The only place was the bathroom and even there the lighting was dim. One of the reception staff, when asked for anything, the answer was no, sorry., due to the virus the hotel was not even full. The breakfast was ok but not to 5* hotel standard. We were at airport Holiday Inn prior to Inter-con and the breakfast there was fabulous. I booked expecting Inter-con standard but was dissapointed and further I would not rate this as 5* Sorry for the negative review but these are my observations

Overlooking the Promenade and the sea. Within walking distance of The Gateway to India and a short taxi ride to the Cruise Terminal. An excellent Dinner and Breakfast available in the Restaurant and the adjoining Terrace. Would definitely stay again.

A hotel fit for royalty.

Magnificent.

We stayed here for 10 nights in April-May 2019. The hotel was in a great location. Wonderful staff and the room was amazing. It was much bigger than the Taj Tower down in Kolaba. However the pool is only open till 5pm so I didn't swim since I was busy all day. Breakfast was good but after 10 days, it would have been nice to have more variety. This hotel would be much better if their prices were slightly less than competitors in the area.

Friendly staff, very clean, nice mix of food and restaurants. The roof top bar was very nice with a great view. Manish who works at the roof top bar provided excellent service.

Overall great experience, would definitely stay again. The buffet and food is very good, and they made sure to meet my special food requests as closely as possible. Thanks so much for the mangers there.

excellent hotel

Everything about this stay was faultless. Great staff, rooms, amenities (loved the complimentary 20 min massage). Breakfast was fabulous. Only downside was poor WiFi and A/c could be better. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location and the staff are very helpful. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would stay there again, but there were some minor issues with our room that caused some inconvenience--electrical outlets that didn't work; bathroom privacy blinds that were broken; unreliable WiFi connection. The hotel staff were responsive to the issues once I made them aware of them, but for a 5-star hotel, I would have expected them to have noticed them before our arrival.

OK but it smells sometimes

The hotel smells too much. The room also has too much scents in it, and sometimes the air-conditioner brings in a whiff of cigarettes smoke. The corridor smelled terrible in one point, like petrol. it seems they do some renovating in the floor while guests are staying there.

Nice hotel, expensive extras.

Nice hotel in good location, rooftop bar has good views but music too loud for a good conversation and drinks are expensive. Breakfast but get offers good quality yet limited fare and all the good stuff is extra. One complaint.. no free wifi anywhere and is $5 for 30 minutes.

Great location and views but old and tired hotel

The hotel is in a great location on Marine Drive and if you have a sea view room the views are amazing. The rooms are very tired and in need of a refresh. The beds are uncomfortable. I booked a king room but was given a twin and told that they were full so couldn't move me. Breakfast food was good, but service was extremely slow and I was bought the wrong order on both mornings. Good views from rooftop bar but is again in need of an update. Overall I'd rate this hotel 3.5

Ask for Sea View, ‘City View’ is the back of a crumbling building so you will have your curtains closed the entire time

An Old school charm yet classic!

A dated property yet still withstood the test of time. It still possesses the old glamour and charm but will need to spruce up the interiors progressively to catch up with the new kids on the block who will give it a run for the money. Otherwise, an establishment with a great view.

Great area for tourists as it is open

Lovely area of India with none of the draw backs of other parts of the country. Money is flowing and good new changes are happening every month. It is changing very fast and it is exciting. No tuc-tuc on sight so traffic is manageable compare with the rest of India. You see the new India.

Located on Marine Drive in bustling Mumbai, The Intercontinental is a luxurious oasis with a stylish rooftop bar and comfortable, sophisticated rooms for the weary traveler. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the restaurants serve an enjoyable menu. I have stayed in three 5-star hotels in Mumbai, and room service at The Intercontinental was certainly the best. An enjoyable, comfortable stay in a seaside location.

Good hotel in general

Hotel room décor was a bit old, perhaps it is time for refurbishment. Rooms are very spacious however. Check in was excellent, staff friendly and accommodating. The lobby unfortunately isn't much; far from grand. A nice little extra is the free welcome massage they offer to all their guests, although the slots get booked up for the days from early in the morning so we weren't able to experience this on our one day stay. The swimming pool is tiny, and access to it is through the the roof top bar, therefore not very child-friendly.

False advertising

Came to the hotel and had paid for a room with a view but was put in a room facing a construction site. The staff was not willing to reaccommodate. The room smelled dirty and there were used sanitary products left in the bathroom from the previous visitor. The wait staff kept ignoring orders, leaving guests to sit for 30 minutes waiting for coffee. This is the single worst hotel experience I have ever had and will never stay at an intercontinental again!

A special and memorable stay.

Can not say enough good things about this hotel!! From the moment we entered the door the service was top notch. All staff were amazing and the food was fantastic.The Head Conceirge, Nestor made our visit to Mumbai memorable by seeking out and arranging tours for us. As well he helped us plan the rest of our tour of India. He took such a special interest in our needs he felt like family, He was remarkably caring and professional!! As for the hotel - clean, comfortable beds, attention to detail - fresh flowers in room. We felt truly special staying here!

Stunning location. Splendid views of Marine Drive.

Alert, vigilant, friendly staff. Excellent comforts and facilities. Walk on Marina Drive, the Queen's Necklace by day or night, eat at the fabulous restaurants and cafes on Churchgate and nearby Cuffe Parade. I have stayed at this hotel before and like it more and more every time I come here with my family. The lobby is too small but comfortable and well decorated with lights and rangolies for Deepavali. The breakfast is awesome. The chefs make you anything that you want. The local cuisine is well represented in the menu. I was awake the whole night watching all the Diwali fun and bursting of crackers on Marine Drive from my room window.

Beautiful Sea view at the best location in Bombay

The check in formalities was fast & quite impressive. The room was beautiful with the best views in Bombay of the entire marine drive. The day view is better compared to the view at night. The room service was prompt & the rooms were clean at all times.The customer service & hospitality was excellent. They made my stay a memorable one with a complimentary birthday cake.A really nice gesture which delighted me.I would recommend this hotel strongly if you are looking for a luxurious stay in Bombay.Surely would visit it again.

Conveniently placed hotel - comfortable stay

The best feature of this hotel would be the location; its close to all the attractions and arguably in the best place in Mumbai. The rooms were clean and comfortable ad staff were professional with personalised service, as one would expect from a hotel from this hotel chain.

Air pressure disturbs your sleep

The rooms were good but lot of staff disturbance. Every time some other room door closed my room door would feel the pressure as if someone is knocking on the door

Too expensive and not a 5 stars !!

Bad service, bad front desk and hotel too expensive considering the quality!!! Wi-fi no free, no real spa, unclean pool and close at 7 p.m The breakfast isn't good the food is not fresh !! But the room is nice to stay and the TV movies are nice :)

Truly exceptional staff

They took a personal and incredibly helpful initiative when my husband left his computer at the airport on our arrival and facilitated its retrieval with kindness and promptness. Quite exceptional. They were all very thoughtful and professional in all our other dealings.

Very poor front desk. Otherwise nice

Front desk was very poor. (i) They made a big fuss about requiring an id with a proof of address for both me & my wife while all the instructions we had received by email was to bring a government issued id for the person who booked. (ii) while checking out they made us wait while they checked the mini-bar. This is the first time I've experienced this! Otherwise the hotel was quite nice. The breakfast was very good.

Boutique Hotel Luxury

Hotel was recommended to me by a business associate, and I was not disappointed. Rooms are large, smartly appointed, and very comfortable. The Marine Drive location was also most convenient for my business appointments, most of which were relatively nearby, a critical consideration given the chaotic traffic in Mumbai. As I was on a tight schedule, I often dined in the hotel, and was surprised at just how excellent everything was. I understand many locals like to frequent the Intercontinental restaurants simply for the excellent food. Hotel staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating. They are a perfect example of how a hotel staff should be. I'll be frequenting Mumbai for business henceforth, and Intercontinental is in my plans to be my Mumbai home.

excellent staff, beautiful room. was a bit disapointed by the room first given to me because i had paid extra for the "bay view" and there was none, but was quickly upgraded to a sea view that was perfect. the hotel's thai restaurant was not as good as expected and a bit over priced for the quality of the food.

Nice Hotel

This hotel is overall quite nice. The room was great, and most of the staff was very nice too, although one of the managers in particular was quite difficult. The bar and pool area were nothing special, and they charge way too much for drinks considering the place is kind of dumpy. The gym is a joke. Food was very good.
