Unique ambiance

Great place with warm hospitality.

My wife and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The staff and patrons staying there were great to talk with. They helped us with finding additional things to go see and do. We would definitely go back and stay again. Food and service was great!

It’s very expensive menu, and with limited options available to new visitor it makes it hard. If you wish to use the kitchenette in your room, it costs to have it turned on. There’s no coffee or tea in the rooms, you have to pay for them. Beer garden next door not opened at all as per opening times. Very cluttered in beer garden grounds. The soup was good, the breakfast was lukewarm to just above cold. Close to trains and buses. I wouldn’t recommend staying there

The place was lovely! We enjoyed our stay. It worked perfect for us to visit the area and stay out of the city. They were having issues with front desk help on our check in date. So check in was a bit rocky. My only complaint is… we paid extra for a superior room with a kitchen but, we have to pay to use the kitchen.

Easy to get to from central station…10 minute train ride, then 10 minute walk or two stops on the bus. The bus stops right in front of the hotel.

Very spacious and lovely rooms, the included breakfast had a good selection. A bus stop is just 3 minutes away.

We booked this hotel and expected a calm and quiet night given its location. However, what we got was exactly the opposite. There was a wedding happening at the hotel with loud music until after 1:30am and we were not informed at all. To make it worse, we were given a room in the 1st floor just above the tent where the wedding was happening. At check-in the staff didn't inform us and when we got back to the room the reception was already closed. The hotel was nice and rustic, the breakfast was really good. The location has bus really near by, but not a lot of things around. It could have been a great stay if it wasn't for the noise. At check-out, when I complained about it I was told to claim it to Expedia because the hotel couldn't do anything for me except offering me a coffee.. I could recommend it but first call them and ask if weddings are planned, otherwise you won't get any proper sleep

A modern, yet cozy hotel in charming surroundings. We enjoyed being able to walk to the train station and take the S-Bahn to the Marienplatz for a day. Breakfasts each morning were a delectable feast! We had an issue with the plumbing in our bathroom, but the hotel management did their best to fix it and gave us a small credit due to the inconvenience. We would definitely stay again!

What an amazingly unique property with a river running alongside the restaurant & thru the property to the beer garden which had great food & wonderful ambiance. Loved the whole experience.

Easy car parking, very clean rooms and comfortable bed. Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent and the best we have had in all of Germany so far. Easy walk to U bahn and Munich central only 6 stops away. Highly recommend this hotel in Munich especially if you are driving a car.

Nice room, good food and perfect location!

Three night stay in Munich.

Room is rustic. Bed comfortable. Staffs are very nice and friendly. Breakfast very good. Hotel is quiet and away from the city. Transit is very convenient. Garden around the hotel is very tranquil.

A unique older style German building, on a river with lovely gardens, including a beer garden. A 15 min easy flat walk to the nearest rail station at Untermenzing. A very good breakfast selection, and a restaurant for dinner if required. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Lovely Hotel, shame no hot water during stay

Lovely place to stay, apartment we were allocated was spacious and beautifully decorated. Our only criticism is that when we stayed there our room had no hot running water and the bathroom had a terrible smell coming from the toilet or drains. When we reported the hot water and smell issue unfortunately management did not offer any form of discount or compensation for the inconvenience caused which was extremely disappointing hence why I gave the property low star ratings on some areas. Staff were lovely, management severely let us down with the hot water and smell issue. No resolution was given, only an apology

Everything about our stay was wonderful!! The property is absolutely gorgeous, the room was perfect, and the staff was incredible! The hotel is also right next to a bus stop so you are able to get anywhere you want to go by bus, u-bahn, and s-bahn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at Insel Muhle and it will be a sure stop when we visit Munich again. At check in, the young lady could not have been kinder or more helpful. Our room was absolutely beautiful and so clean. Full kitchen (which we did not use) had every appliance including a dishwasher, beautiful bathroom, comfortable area for lounging. Not the most comfortable beds overall, but suitable. We did not even leave the hotel as we thoroughly enjoyed dinner and the atmosphere at the backyard beer garden. The food was tasty, the beer was plentiful and even the ice cream and pretzels were delicious. Easy for non-German speakers to navigate. People were always willing to help. A memorable evening for our family. Breakfast the next day was plentiful (contrary to other reviews) and delicious. We were very pleased. One of the most reasonably priced hotels we stayed at during our trip to Germany and, by far, our favourite and one we hope to return to again. Thank you Insel Muhle for making our vacation so memorable. (If there must be a negative, it is the awkward entrance to the hotel, off a busy street, that takes some precision driving, patience and a GPS. Also, parking spaces near the entrance fill up very quickly).

Great stay. Very quiet area with peaceful soumd of brook that runs just outside of hotel...enjoyed listening to it. Room was very nice and breakfast great. I would definitely return if back in the area.

We made the right choice for us staying out of the city center and staying here. Was quiet and within a 30 min drive for most of what we were wanting to see. The staff was super helpful during our stay as well.

Clean and modern hotel, perhaps the most aesthetic and spacious hotel I’ve stayed in Europe. Highly recommend for those who don’t mind being distanced from the city center and want to enjoy quiet stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is amazing, and the food is high quality. Fast internet and smart TV added fun to our restful nights. Beautiful balcony and glass window that gives the most relaxing view of the surrounding nature. I would definitely want to stay here again when I am back in Munich.

We had a great stay at Insel Mühle, we chose to be away from the city centre as it was much more peaceful and yet an easy walk to the S -bahn and buses. The hotel is full of character and yet our bathroom was modern and looked brand new (also the appliances in the kitchen area). Everywhere was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was great with a good range of food. We ate in the restaurant on our first night, the food was lovely and service good, we also found a great Italian restaurant just minutes away called Papa Francos which we enjoyed so much we went twice! We can definitely recommend this hotel for a perfect stay in the Munich area.

No AC

My wife and I stayed here for two nights to go to Octoberfest. The hotel is old but well taken care off. The beer garden is nice and the hotel has a free breakfast. Our only issues were that there was no AC and no elevator.

We absolutely loved this hotel. It has an excellent restaurant right on the premises and super easy access into Munich by the bus right in front of the hotel to the train (Untermenzing) which is just like seven stops away. The superior room we got was phenomenal! The bathroom was clean and huge with a wonderful shower! The Biergarten out back was closed when we were there, but looked really fun. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and hope to be able to return someday. Don’t hesitate to book!

Room exceeded all expectations. Nice patio area for each room on the first floor. Nice living room and kitchenette areas. Free breakfast was very good with hot items such as eggs and sausages/bacon. We were the only vehicle parked in the below ground parking garage. The restaurant did not have menus in English, but the waiter explained the specialties and their expert chef made us one of the best dinners we had during our trip. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I cannot comment on transportation and walkable as we had a rental card and did not need to make us of public transportation but we did note both bus stops and a commuter train station within easy walking distance.

What a great find in Munich. We were in Munich for Oktoberfest and all the hotels close to the grounds were either sold out or ridiculously expensive. The Insel Muhle is only 6 stops on the S Bahn to the centre of Munich. It is a beautiful place with very spacious rooms (ours had a patio) and a kitchenette. They also had a very nice restaurant, with free breakfast and an amazing beer garden next to a Brook where you can easily sit for hours with the new friends you'll make. Staff were cheerful and friendly and we're able to answer all our questions. My only complaint would the pillows, I found them to be way too soft and they totally flattened out in no time. This will definitely be where I stay the next time I find myself in Munich

Exceptional Value, Spacious and Comfortable

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A mere few minutes drive from the city center, it's a haven of tranquility and comfort. The apartment is incredibly spacious and provides all the amenities one could wish for. The king size bed in the bedroom guarantees a restful night, while the well-appointed bathroom adds to the overall convenience. The living area is wonderfully welcoming, a perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing or work. The addition of the balcony is a delightful bonus, offering a lovely space for relaxation and fresh air. The provided breakfast deserves a special mention. The selection was vast and tasty- a great start to our days! In terms of value for money, this place is unbeatable. My only regret is that our stay wasn't longer. We loved our time here and can't wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort and value in near the heart of the city.

Nice hotel on outskirts of Munich. Easy walk to suburban train - S bahn - into city centre. Nice old gasthaus which looks newly refurbished. Huge new and well equipped suite - almost a small apartment. Quite a nice breakfast. Would recommend.

Alles perfekt. So stellt Frau/Mann sich ein Hotel vor. Preis/Leistung absolut ok. Ich buche da wieder, Gute ÖPNV Anbindung . Beginnt schon am Hotel. Es gibt aber trotzdem immer jemand der das Haar in der Suppe findet. Und wenn es das eigene war.

Wunderschönes Hotel, sehr ruhig und idyllisch gelegen, sehr freundliches zuvorkommendes Personal, die Anbindung zu öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel optimal

Sehr großes Zimmer mit Balkon (Blick auf die Würm/ ins Grüne), modern eingerichtet, hell. Mit Sofa, Esstisch und Küchenzeile (keine Bereitstellung von Kaffee oder Tee allerdings). Wir waren fünf Nächte da und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!

sehr schöne Location vor allem im Sommer dann mit Biergarten. Doppelzimmer wie gebucht im Dachgeschoss bekommen, tolle Renovierung in den letzten Jahren. Frühstücksauswahl ist nicht riesig man wird aber durchaus satt. Die Preise fürs Abendessen waren mir als allein reisende Person aber definitiv zu hoch - ist aber nur meine persönliche Meinung

Mittelmäßig

Beim Check-in und Check-out gab es Wartezeiten, weil das Personal telefonierte, bzw. anderweitig beschäftigt war. Das gebuchte Zimmer war leider nicht sauber. Altes Sandwich im Kühlschrank, Spülmaschine mit Schimmelspuren, Aschenbecher nicht geleert und der Fußboden im Bad nicht richtig gereinigt. Das Ersatzzimmer war etwas sauberer, aber nicht wirklich vergleichbar mit dem gebuchten Zimmer. Das Bett war sehr klein und stand an der Wand, sodass eine Person vom Fußende hinein krabbeln musste. Die Toilette im Bad fiel zu einer Seite ab und der Türstock der Eingangstür in der Nähe der Dusche war durch Feuchtigkeit beschädigt. Eine Entschuldigung gab es nicht wirklich. Das Frühstück war okay. Das Hotel ist an einer viel befahrenen Straße.

Klassisches Bayrisches Hotel, gemütlich & sauber

Sehr schönes und hochwertiges Hotel zum fairen Preis. Leider ohne Aufzug der sich beim Umbau von einer Mühle zu einem Hotel wohl nicht realisieren ließ.

Das Bedientableau neben der Zimmertüre ist unübersichtlich und leider gibt es nirgends eine Beschreibung welchen Knopf was kann. Aber das ist auch der einzige Mangel den ich hatte.

Wir haben ein phantastisches Zimmer bekommen. Ruhig, riesengroß und gepflegt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

In reception non c’era nessuno. Abbiamo dovuto attendere molto tempo prima dell’arrivo di qualcuno. La pulizia non era delle migliori. Ottimo posizionamento nella città.

Bello, ma disorganizzato

Check in scadente, non era presente nessuno alla reception ed il personale del bar non sapeva come scusarsi. Una volta arrivata una signora, dopo quasi 1 ora, mi ha dato una stanza già occupata per poi sostituirmela. La pulizia non è il massimo. L’hotel è ben posizionato, a 10 min a piedi dalla fermata della S2. Il ristorante ha un’area all’aperto molto bella con annesso un ruscello ed un piccolo laghetto.

Wir hatten Zimmer Nummer 303 direkt über dem Wassermühlrad. Es war heftig laut, so dass man Nachts kein Fenster öffnen konnte.

Gute Unterkunft

Wenn man beim Personal den Jungen Mann an der Rezeption beurteilen müsste würde dieses Hotel keinen einzigen Stern bekommen . Emphatie Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit sind hier fehl am Platz. Im Januar habe ich ihm nach 1 Woche Aufenthalt bereits diese Mankos aufgezeigt aber leider hängt er wieder hinter seinem Rechner, als würde er zu Hause Spiele auf der PlayStation zocken . Das Hotel ist einfach fantastisch aber beim Frühstücken oder Abendessen reden die Gäste genau über diese Person am Empfang…. Der Empfang repräsentiert das gesamt Hotel . Die Junge Dame abends ist da das genaue Gegenteil. In dieses Münchener Hotel mit Charme, gehöre freundliche Menschen …. Am besten in Dirndl oder Lederhosen die ihre Gäste offen und Ehrlich ihre Gäste empfangen . Bitte Bitte ändert hier eure Einstellung …..

Sehr schöner Gartenbereich!

Manchmal ist es einfach besser, eine Unterkunft etwas außerhalb in einer Stadt zu buchen. Tolles, historisches Gebäude und mit sehr nettem Service als Hotel geführt. Der angeschlossene Biergarten rundet das Gesamtbild ab. Wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer, Frühstück war sehr gut und wir kommen wieder...

Das Hotel hat uns sehr gefallen. Es war einfach zu finden und liegt Nahe der Autobahn. Die Umgebung war großartig. Es war sehr angenehm ruhig, auch der Fluss und die Natur hatte etwas sehr charmantes. Die Zimmer sind in einem top Zustand und waren größer als erwartet. Es gab eine angemessene Auswahl zum Frühstück. Alles in allem kann ich das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren mehr als positiv überrascht von dem wunderschönen Zimmer. Unsere Erwartungen wurden mehr als übertroffen! Tolle Einrichtung, wahnsinnig groß und eine schöne Terrasse! Rundum: klasse!
