Wow. This inn is all about the past but with a modern, friendly approach. The building is very old and the furnishings in the communal areas are in-keeping with the building. The owners and the La staff (Mary, John and Christina) are just amazing and cannot do enough to ensure that your stay is the best it can be. The bedroom was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and should not be missed. The afternoon, homemade cookies are simply divine. It was a shame to leave, but our travel plans meant we had to. Do not hesitate. Book this hotel!
Beautiful property on a creek with serene views all around. The staff was wonderful!
pleasant stay
This property is very homely. There is a vintage and home feel in each and every object in the property. Our apecific breakfast preferences were taken care of. John & Mary are very warm and serve fresh breakfast every morning. The room is clean and the property has amazing birw on backside where amazing pictures can be taken. The maps and helpful guides in the property helped us navigate beautiful places around. Overall a comfortable and warm stay.
The staff were great! Window AC. It was quite loud.
Mary and John made us feel right at home. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay!
We were in town for a wedding and stayed moving, so really did not get to utilize most of what was available, but checkin included a personalised tour, the breakfast room was beautiful. There was tea/coffee service 24/7, pool table, and pool. You're never more than a few minutes from anything you'ld need around town. Friendly, helpful staff. Great place.
Super friendly and welcoming. Family owned. Very cute, old home. Rooms were decent sized. We received a tour when first arriving all the way to our room. Very clean. Only complaint is the bed was too soft. lol
Great place to stay. Highly Recommend Host’s where awesome.
The whole experience was exceptional. Everything from the staff, cleaniness of the room, the landscaping, the food, etc Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to friends and family.
It was very nice
New England road trip
My husband and I were don a New England road trip and stayed at the Ellis river inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The owners were great. The AC in the room we were originally supposed to stay in was not working so they moved us to a different room. The inn itself has nice touches and the breakfast each morning was great! The only thing that could’ve made the stay better was a little more comfortable bed but other than that we loved our stay at the inn.
A lovely Inn with exceptionally friendly owners and staff. Absolutely loved our 5 night stay. Can’t recommend a stay at the Inn at Ellis River highly enough 😊
Lovely inn with great ambiance
Outstanding Hosts.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who wants to stay in a warm friendly and homely place. A different breakfast each morning, nothing seemed too much trouble
Such a beautiful Inn! The staff was amazing! The breakfast was delicious and food allergies were accommodated. I would highly recommend The Inn at Ellis River and am looking forward next time!
It was wonderful!
Peaceful riverside location- lovely welcome from John and Mary and staff together with a great breakfast.
My wife and I stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for 3 nights while we were Cross Country Skiing in the area. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, the staff very friendly. There was a ski place right next door, and a great place for ice skating nearby. Nice Irish pub down the street. Last but not least the breakfast was absolutely fantastic. All the elements of a good place to stay for a winter getaway.
Clean, well maintained
Very cozy inn with a wonderful full breakfast. Staff is very welcoming
Winter Get Away
Our stay at the Inn at Ellis River was wonderful. The best part was the delicious breakfast in the lovely dining room! The staff was so friendly. The bath towels were amazing! Perfect location, close to everything. We will be back!
Great place to stay, it had a really nice feeling! The owners were so nice and friendly 😊I had added a 2nd grandchild for total of 3 who was sick and she refunded me!! Delicious breakfast! Real clean room. Loved it!
The experience we had was wonderful. The property is quiet with easy parking. We met Mary, John, and Christine and they are all extremely hard-working individuals dedicated to making everyone's experience excellent. The rooms are clean and cozy. Do NOT miss out on the breakfast, you will regret it! As someone who is gluten free, they were incredibly accommodating which was refreshing and greatly appreciated. Some of the other guests we met at the Inn were returning after having such great experiences on a prior visit... since we had such an amazing time, we think we just might follow suit with return visits of our own!
This is a quaint Inn bybthe Ellis River. Beautiful setting. The iwnees and staf were great. They served a full, delicious home cooked breakfast every morning as well. Higjly recomend it. The area in Jackson is beautiful.
Wonderful Inn Keepers and clean !
we absolutely loved our stay a the Inn. everything was wonderful from the owners and staff to the accommodations and the food. It was a most memorable experience and highly recommend it.
Great B&B!!
Wonderful stay with friendly, helpful staff. Steep stairs but knew about them going in. Quiet and close to town. Safe walking area. Wonderful breakfast with access to coffee/tea/ht chocolate. Homemade snacks every afternoon. Handy parking.
Great Inn, wonderful staff, beautiful area!
They pay attention to the small details - cookies set out for a late night treat, small bar to grab a drink at the end of the night, and an amazing breakfast. They were always available to answer questions or provide a suggestion on where to hike or to have dinner. A truly amazing place to stay.
Great B&B
Mary and the staff were awesome. So helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing! Good location for exploring.
Excellent breakfast! Lovely property & friendly people. Would definitely recommend
Friendly inn, comfortable room and sweet treat breakfast choices.
We had a very nice stay and we’d definitely stay there again if we’re going back to Jackson. All owners, innkeepers and staff were super friendly and nice.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, even before we arrived, providing excellent advice regarding reservations on the Mt Washington Cog Railway. The friendly enthusiasm continued after we arrived, despite a sudden staff shortage. We had two of the best breakfasts on our two mornings!
Lovely. Inn
We had a two night delightful stay at this Inn. The owners were very helpful in planning our activities. The breakfast was fantastic!
Enjoyed our stay over the Labor Day Weekend. Warm hospitality. Wonderful bed and breakfast place to stay. Breakfast provided was excellent. Centrally located for access to activities in the White Mountains.
The room we stayed in was very clean and quiet
Comfortable inn in a great location
The inn keeper was very friendly and helpful, and even put together a to-go breakfast for us so we could get an early start hiking in the morning. The beds were very comfortable and the property gas’s nice spots for sitting and relaxing.
The Inn is a charming family owned business perfectly set in the Conway region of New Hampshire. John and Mary and their staff were wonderful hosts, and the breakfast alone was worth the trip. We would definitely recommend this to couples staying in the area.
It is a very comfortable "homey" environment that we have visited several times over the years. The inn keepers (Mary, John, and Christine) are super friendly. We look forward to returning to the Inn again!
Good place to stay
Staff and inn keepers are excellent. Breakfast was superb
A Superb Experience
My son and I stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for one night before leaving early the next morning for a challenging mountain hike on the Moriah—Carter Trail.I wish we could have stayed a week! The Inn at Ellis River is no cookie-cutter, personality-lacking hotel/motel on a busily trafficked road.It is what anyone would hope for when escaping the city and looking for a place surrounded by nature and historical charm. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and given a tour of the beautiful Inn; from dining room to sitting area to bar, the public areas begged us to stop for a while and enjoy the accommodations. Our room had all the amenities we needed: full bath/shower, free wifi, and air conditioning. Outside, the Adirondack chairs by the river looked inviting—a place we could sit for hours and enjoy the peace. The pool was another missed opportunity for us, but only because we were leaving early the next morning for our hike. All was clean and ready for visitors. As wonderful as the resort itself was, the folks who run the Inn were absolutely fantastic. They asked about our travels and answered the questions we had. When we noted that we would not be there for breakfast, we were given a “to-go” breakfast the next morning so we had something to eat before heading into the mountains. The Inn at Ellis River deserves my highest recommendation. When we have the chance to return to the area again, we most certainly will look here first; in fact, our wives have insisted that they go, too!
Large deck overlooking the river
We stayed in the Paradise Falls room at it was fantastic. There is a large deck overlooking the Ellis River. Breakfast was delicious the 2 mornings we were there. Will definitely stay again if we find ourselves in the area.
Loved the atmosphere, the homemade cookies were fantastic, as was the delicious hot breakfast daily, thank you!
Excellent hospitality and home cooked breakfasts. Convenient location. We already plan to return.
Breakfast was great and included in room rate.. Afternoon snacks were a nice touch
A lovely inn, kind and caring owners and staff that work very hard to provide personal service to make your stay enjoyable.
Hospitality and comfort
We so enjoyed our getaway to Jackson and the hospitality of our innkeepers Mary and John and their friendly staff. They have a very comfortable but not stuffy inn and they have anticipated everything their guests might need. They're helpful in connecting people with what they want to do and they had nice little touches all through our stay. The breakfasts were full and delicious with lots of choices. We loved the location right near the village center but tucked away beside the river. For a cozy, friendly getaway we recommend a stay at Ellis River.
Outstanding
This was a great place to stay in Jackson. Beautiful location on the Ellis river. Very nice and clean accommodations. Home cooked breakfast. Very friendly staff and owners. Lots of nice common areas to relax and enjoy the weekend. A++++ I highly recommend it
My Wife and I were at the Inn for two nights and had a really nice stay! The location is great, the Inn is very quaint and was exceptionally clean. Mary and Christine made us feel very welcome during our time there. We'll definitley come back!
Great location, wonderful hosts and breakfast
Great location for hiking White Mountains, hosts are friendly, cozy and clean room, yummy breakfast. Highly recommend it.
It was everything a New England experience should be, very enjoyable.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay - great breakfasts too!
We had a pleasant stay. We had one of the cottages and the stairs were a bit challenging. The breakfast here is lovely.
Very friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. Peaceful environment
This is a lovely, well-run property. The owners and staff are very nice. Breakfasts are excellent and the rooms are comfortable. I did think the room we were in was a bit tight (Diana's Bath), but we certainly had room for everything. The location couldn't be better - outside the chaos of Conway on a leaf-peeping weekend, but right where you want to be. Both my husband and I would highly recommended this B&B.
Quant beautiful inn
This inn was very clean and welcoming. The owners were wonderful. Although they were short staffed everything was perfect. The breakfasts were unsurpassed. You will not be disappointed.
Great place to stay
We are very pleased that our room is very clean and the staffs are very friendly! Breakfast was delicious and the facilities are well maintained. We would book here again when we come back to Mount Washington next time!
Very clean and well maintained, super friendly owners and staff, delicious breakfast, tea and coffee available 24/7 and fresh homemade cookies at 3:00!
The owners John and Mary, and innkeeper Christine, went above and beyond to provide a comfortable stay with delicious breakfast options. Grounds were clean, quiet, well kept and the inn itself was exceptionally clean and welcoming.
Great B&B
A lovely B&B. An older building well maintained. Beautiful pool although we didn't use it. The breakfast was excellent, and the service was friendly and great. We liked the deck facing a quiet, wooded area.
Absolutely charming B&B. breakfast was amazing. a real Gem!!!
We had a great stay! Sorry to say it was only two nights, but we had everything we could ask for. The Inn is very clean and quiet. The owners and staff are very cordial and down to earth, the type of folks who make you feel very comfortable and welcome. The Inn is right on the Ellis River and although the area was drier than usual, the sound of running water was incredibly tranquil. The daily breakfast was better than restuarant quality and served with smiles and genuinely friendly conversation. I am looking forward to going back soon!
The staff and owners John & Mary were awesome. Friendly, helpful, accessible. It's a lovely place to spent time in the White Mountains.
Owner was very welcoming. The property is very clean and staff very nice. Beds are comfortable.
Nice staff, good food and the room was comfortable and homey with the real fireplace by the foot of the bed.
Great place to stay!!!
We have been staying at this inn for many years and our experience has been great every time. Very friendly people.
The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable of the area would definitely stay again
Romantic getaway
This was such a quaint place to stay. We had river view from our room, and it was absolutely beautiful! The hosts were so personable and treated us like family. The home cooked breakfast was amazing, and it was included with room. We felt like we were having a Hallmark movie experience!
Nice Inn
Nice inn. Very hands-on management and ownership. Room was comfortable if a bit small when accommodating bulky winter clothes and gear. Breakfasts were nice. Note that while on a map the XC trails are situated right behind the inn, they aren’t able to be accessed from the in without crossing or walking across a bridge on the main road. There is no bridge at this property across the river like there are at several other properties in the area. But other than that, for the money it was a nice place to stay and close to several nice ski trails.
Very nice quiet place to stay. The staff are very friendly as well.
This place is awesome!! Easy walk to restaurants in Jackson. Terrific common areas -- easy to read, watch NFL playoff games, relax. Staff is really friendly and helpful.
The Inn at Ellis River is lovely! We stayed for 3 nights at the Inn, in the Flume Gorge room. We loved the big jetted tub and view of the river from our room. The staff are friendly and attentive. All the breakfasts were generous, each morning there was always an option for an egg dish or a pancake/waffles dish. We appreciated being fueled up before skiing at Cannon and King Pine each day. We loved the location, very quiet, but still could walk to dinner at Thompson House Eatery and Shannon Door. We hope to return again soon.
Mary and John’s Inn was the perfect getaway from the in-room fireplace to the fresh baked cookies to the breakfast the next morning! Can’t wait to stay again soon!!
We had a wonderful weekend at this unique, warm and welcoming B&B. Also, breakfast was delicious.
This is a charming inn with a superb staff. The breakfasts are fantastic and my room accommodation was clean and comfortable. Would love to return here on my next trip to New Hampshire.
Excellent time at The Ellis Inn!!!😊
We had a lovely time. The owners and staff were super friendly and went out of their way to ensure we have a pleasant stay. The Inn is cozy and warm with plenty of games to play, a nice bar. The room was pretty and clean. Breakfast each morning was delicious and well thought out. Loved having a coffee bar with lots of choices and the afternoon snack was thoughtful. We would recommend the Inn to others and will return ourselves in the near future. It’s proximity to local attractions is perfect.
Relaxing in Jackson
The Inn is a real treat! A throwback to a simpler time and place. The staff is welcoming and warm. It had a little bit of everything for their common space and the bar area. The breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. A very quaint older facility that is well maintained. Just a great place to begin your exploration of the Jackson-Conway area of New Hampshire.
We had a lovely time at this terrific location. The staff make it very special for their guests.
This place was incredible. It was so well kept, and the staff was so much fun. We walked in the door and we immediately said that we were gonna love this place. We loved it!
What a wonderful experience! One of our best B&B stays of ALL our travel experience. We just kept talking after we had to leave about how all the other places we stayed just could NOT measure up to the Inn at Ellis River in Jackson NH
Beautiful old Inn
The inn is beautiful. Located next to a river, had chairs nearby to sit. Friendly staff, beautiful inside. Sitting areas, games room, bar, coffee and tea 24/7. Room good size for 2 people, clean, comfortable. The breakfast was deliciious and generous. The only thing we didnt like was that we had to let them know, 48 hrs ahead of time, whether we were going to eat dinner there and what we wanted to eat. Our reason for being there didn't necessarily allow us to know if we were going to be able to eat at a specified time, let alone what we were going to feel like eating. I understand it's to conserve on costs but the arrangement didnt work for us. Otherwise, I would whole heartedly recommend staying here.
Our room was delightful - perfect in every way. Slept comfortably in fresh, soft sheets. Loved the delicious homemade breakfast each morning - especially the bacon! Enjoyed a delicious glass of wine at the pub after a day of adventure in the area. Owners were exceptional, taking the time to give my husband and I special attention. We can't wait to go back!
A true hidden gem
We booked based off of reviews here- and we were blown away! Mary is a wonderful host, the property is beautiful and the accommodations are welcoming and adorably put together. We can’t wait to come back again, this is a MUST if you are stopping in the area.
Cleanliness, and Quiet.
It is a amazing inn. The owners and staff are excellent and friendly. They make you feel at home and always made sure we had everything we needed. It was very quiet and view was beautiful. We would definitely stay there again when we want to go to the white mountains.
Positives: cordial innkeepers, convenient, climate control, riverfront, amenities, breakfast!!!, service. Negatives: tight room, tricky stairs Overall: Our stay was quite pleasant and I would definitely return to stay there again.
Awesome - 5+ stars!
Absolutely amazing stay. Owners and staff couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. Very peaceful, relaxing atmosphere; super clean charming room; comfortable, soft bed; sparkling clean pool. But what really put it over the top - breakfast! Amazing, talented chef who cooked up gourmet choices each morning. I went to bed each night looking forward to the next morning's breakfast. This is not just a counter with stale pastries. You are seated and waited on very attentively. There is some kind of egg dish (frittata, quiche, scrambled) or choice of pancakes, french toast, scones, bacon, sausage. Everything is made to order fresh. The grounds are beautiful, with a stream behind the Inn with chairs, far enough away from the inn itself for my husband to enjoy his morning cigar without offending! I highly recommend, and found the price very reasonable for what is offered.
So peaceful & relaxing. Love the river right behind the property.
Nice property in beautiful location. Efficient, friendly and attentive staff. I would come back!
The grounds around the property were quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Parts of the Inn are more than 100 years old and so creaky floors and thin walls are to be expected. The room was small...tub was big...balcony was nice to sit out on. The hosts/staff were very attentive and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent...and there were cookies and tea/coffee in the afternoon. There were several areas within the Inn for socializing or just relaxing. The location was close to many of the area's "things to do". We'll definitely stay again if we return to the area.
This place is fabulous. cozy room, fun people, great breakfast. We will definitely come back and stay longer next time.
I loved my stay and only have good things to say! The owner (Mary) and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast each morning was so delicious and filling. Perfect start to a day of hiking. The room was spotless, very nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable. The Inn was within walking distance to a superb farm to table restaurant, The Thompson House Eatery. Delicious! I would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful getaway, great owners, highly recommend!
My wife and I have come to the Inn at Ellis River several times over the last few years, and we love it. In fact we just stayed and on our way home, booked our next stay. The owners, Mary & John, and staff are just wonderful. We recommend a room with a balcony so that you can sit outside and enjoy the sound of river. If you don't have a balcony, there are seats down on the lawn by the river, and even a fire pit to hangout by in the evening. The pool area is great, and an excellent way to cool off and wind down after a day out enjoying the white mountains. The breakfasts are delicious! My wife raves about the bacon and can't get enough. Highly recommend staying at the Inn at Ellis River!
Beautiful building, with character. Nice pool, lots of seating beside the river. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff.
Great hospitality
Everyone working at the inn was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Cozy retreat
Inn at Ellis River was perfect for our getaway into the White Mountains. Everyone was so warm and kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Rooms are clean and cozy. It was a great place to unwind after long days out exploring and would definitely book again!
