I felt I was being dealt with rather than treated as a guest during check-in and out procedures. The amenities were okay; there were only a few bathrooms for many people, and one didn't even work. This is the first hostel I've seen with a kitchen, and no one can use it. I couldn't even fill up my water bottle. Its location is excellent, and it's decent enough if you're only using it to sleep.

Good stay. Basic place so if you’re looking for fancy not a place for you but amazing location and I felt like it was a good price for basic.

Perfect location, horrible bright white room that feels like there is a 300w bulb shining in your face the moment the sun comes up. Didn’t care for the baggage policy of charging 5€ for bags left after 2pm

Spent over $450/night & room has no toilet and bath. Next room snoring was so loud and bkfst was sucks!!!

I'm Castello

Room was clean and near city center which was convenient to all of the city action. The place was a challenge to find but once found never forgotten.

Nice location

Location is but the noise from other guest kept me up. The common area supposed to be for breakfast but several guests use them as socializing spot, until 10:45 pm, I had to come out to lower their voices. Shouldn't they be going out to restaurant or bar to socialize? Hotel is nice, friendly staff.

Location and Stuff, the only good thing

The hotel is located in the city center close to all attractions and the staff are friendly, here ends all the good things about this hotel. The room was very small, and it is on the first floor however the window is almost on the street so you can hear people walking and talking outside all night. You can also hear anything happening in the other rooms as sound insulation is very poor. Breakfast is poor as well. The value of money compared to what you get is not worth it. Disappointed from everything except location and staff!

Great location to the sites.could do better

Close proximity to the main sites,about a 20 minute walk to the train station.staff could be more friendlier.more facilities would be nice.unfair that you have to pay a penalty of ten euros if you arrive after 7pm.Not much you can do if you flight is after this time.

Stay somewhere else.

Extremely difficult to find. Very poor signage, and it is in a building with other businesses. Embarrassingly meager excuse for breakfast. Not very helpful, and often downright mean staff. Pitch black in the hallways when you come back at night, no lights in the hallways at all. Try to upsell you for everything. Additional fee to check in after 7pm. Dont expect any soap or shampoo, it is in a vending machine. I'm pretty easy going, and dont expect alot. But this place was a bad experience from beginning to end.

Do Not Stay Here - Terrible Service

DO NOT STAY AT IS CASTELLO. I have been in Italy for thirteen weeks and this was truly the worst place I stayed. The service is terrible. You know how the website says there are croissants, cappuccino, and omelets on request? That's a lie. You get a thin piece of white toast and an apple. When the woman next to me asked for a second piece of toast, she was met with "only one per person." And even worse, when I was in Bologna I fainted in the street and had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance, making me late to pick up my bags. When I got back to the hotel and explained what happened, did they ask me how I was doing? Express sympathy? Nope, they didn't say a thing, but told me I had to pay the 5 euro late fee for not picking up my bags on time. And lest you think, oh, maybe it was a communication issue, nope. The hosts appear to speak better English than Italian. I wouldn't have much to complain about with regard to the infrastructure itself, it's clean and the neighborhood is great, but the decor is weird. There was barely anything in the room except a giant (I'm talking 1 meter by 2 meter) headshot of a woman looking down on you like she's Jesus or the dictator of some small Latin American country. It was creepy. All night long.

È un ostello, camera condivisa mista, letto a castello. C'è un'area comune con caricabatterie e attacchi USB anche in camera, e WiFi. Ci sono ben tre bagni, sono in comune, ma più che sufficienti

Personale abbastanza dipsonibile, anche se il check-in a pagamento dopo le 19.00 è assurdo. Le stanze sono divise da plastica opaca trasparente che lacia passare la luce della stanza accanto (e se restano svegli fino a tardi .... niente riposo).

posto letto in camera condivisa totalmente insonorizzata. Si riuscivano a sentire le voci delle persone che ci dormivano nella stanza a fianco a causa di una porta finestra sottilissima presente nella nostra camera e mimetizzata dietro ad una tenda. In uno dei bagni, piatto doccia scocciato con del nastro isolante. Colazione inesistente, nonostante si presenti come un room and brakfast. Receptionist scontrose e poco preparate a dare risposte utili a rendere il soggiorno il più gradevole possibile.

Vomgens de info zouden we gratis ontbijt krijgen. Bed en breackfast. Bij aankomst werd me gemeld dat er geen ontbijt is voorzien. Geen geluidsprivecy in de kamer. Gemeenschappelijke badkamer werd niet dagelijks gepoetst, je moet het met 1 klein handdoekje redden.

Esperienza tremenda!

Relegato in uno sgabuzzino ricavato da una stanza adiacente, parquet rovinato, sporco e graffiato, mura sporche, ragnatele e polvere sul tetto e nelle griglie dell'aria condizionata probabilmente modificata per immettere aria esterna visto che entrava calda nonostante fosse impostata al massimo, piattino giallo sotto di essa con mosca morta e tubo della stessa che fuoriusciva dal parquet. Armadio a muro che immetteva in un piccolo spazio polveroso con dentro una brandina e anta dello stesso senza un sostegno. 70 euro al giorno!

il minimo indispensabile in un'ottima posizione

Negativo: Scomodo avere un orario per il check in. Non ero stata avvisata della cauzione per le chiavi. Camera minimal, con parte danneggiata della pavimentazione. Bagni pochi rispetto al numero di posti letto, quindi molto probabili attese la mattina. Sono necessari dei ganci, degli appendini e uno spazio minimo dove appoggiare le proprie cose in bagno! Necessari i tappi per le orecchie perchè di notte si sente sbattere il portone d'ingresso. Necessario portarsi le posate se si decide di prepararsi qualcosa con il microonde..(in condizioni non proprio adeguate). Positivo: economicità. Posizione ottima. Personale gentile, anche se c'è solo in certi orari. Che dire, una soluzione minimal, abbastanza spartana, per spendere poco ed essere vicino a ciò che si desidera.

nice little hostel in good location

I stayed 5 nights in this hostel/B&B. I arrived later than the reception opening hours, which was no problem as we arranged a time for check in and even with half an hour delay from my side everything worked out well. The stuff is friendly and helpful and the hostel is clean.It is quite a small place, no loud party people etc. All in all I really enjoyed the stay and the location is really good as it is in the center and and all important places can be reached by walking.

La posizione è buona, l'interno è decente, ma c'è molto di meglio.Visto il mio arrivo dopo le 19, c'erano 10 € in più da pagare, una condizione che penalizza le persone che hanno treno o altri mezzi che arrivano più tardi perché..?.dopo aver chiamato dicendo che quest'ultima condizione mi sembrava assurda e che non volevo pagarla, il posto mi ha detto che non mi avrebbe fatto il check-in, cosa che posso rispettare perché ognuno è libero di fare quello che vuole,e inoltre avevo letto solo la pagina della prenotazione dove questa clausola non era specificata (sul sito c'è), dicendo erroneamente che non era scritta da nessuna parte;però non mi è stato assicurato un rimborso,cosa che per correttezza mi sarebbe spettata, visto che la decisione era una scelta arbitraria del posto.Mi è stato detto che se immediatamente avessi cancellato non avrei pagato penali, nonostante sul sito ci fosse chiaramente scritto che per non pagare penali bisogna cancellare 3 giorni prima, mentre io avrei cancellato il giorno stesso. si sono giustificati di questa loro contraddizione dicendo che i soldi vanno ad expedia e quindi le penali dipendono da expedia, non da loro. ma allora perché dirmi di cancellare??? tra parentesi su questo stesso sito c'è un commento di una persona che ha detto che non ha pagato i 10 euro spiegando loro il perché secondo lei/lui fosse assurda. Quindi questi soldi in più vengono chiesti in base alla simpatia del cliente??alla fine mi hanno fatto pagare 5 euro. mah.

Ubicazione perfetta, economico

Soggiorno accettabile, camera pulita, colazione molto "essenziale". Ho cercato di starci il meno possibile perché non riesco ad accettare i bagni in comune e mi sono sentita a disagio per questo, ma a questo prezzo non potevi fare altro che "adattarmi".

Mauvais séjour, nous avions 2 petits lits simples alors que nous avions réserve un lit double...chambre minuscule et petit déjeuner très simplet et pas assez de salles de bain pour tout le monde

B&B carino e in centro storico

Ho pernottato per una notte e la camera assegnatami era molto comoda e pulita, i bagni invece lasciavano un po' a desiderare. Colazione solo dopo le 08.15 ma, dovendo andar via prima, gentilmente mi hanno fornito brioche confezionata e un frutto. La posizione della struttura invece è perfetta in quanto a due passi dalla piazza principale.

eliminate penalita'

la struttura non e' male, pero' consiglierei una colazione con offerta di verdure o frutta. sono intollerante a tutti i cereali quindi ho potuto prendere solo un caffe'. La penalità' non ha senso anche se dopo una profonda discussione al telefono e' stata accettata la mia argomentazione che un B&B non può' applicare una penalità'. E' controproducente per l'esercizio. Inoltre c'era parecchio chiasso dopo le 1230 per un gruppo di giovani. Quindi dormito poco. Sinceramente il prezzo applicato potrebbe offrire condizioni migliori. Un bagno privato sarebbe utile

Schnell alle Sehenswurdigkeiten zu Fuss erreichbar. Rucksack kann problemlos 2-4 Std vorher u nachher abgestellt werden. Wer eine einfache kostengünstige funktionelle Unterkunft m Frühstuck sucht, der ist hier richtig.

Avevo bisogno di un hotel economico al centro, l'ho trovato anche se ero fuori quota (50 anni)non mi ha dato fastidio dividere bagno (ci sono 3 bagni con docce e antibagno ampi) con altri ospiti e soprattutto ho potuto lavorare alla mia presentazione negli spazi comuni al computer sino alle 3.30 del mattino. Dopo poche ora la mia colazione servita con gentilezza. Consiglio di portare le mascherine perchè non ci sono gli scuri e la luce filtra.
