One of my 'go to' places
Reliable and convenient for a one night stop-over. A short walk from Piccadilly station, and handy for all parts of the city centre. Friendly and helpful staff
Cobwebs on leg of bed and up the wall behind the base and mattress, dust and things under the bed. Hairs on the sink area - disgusting!
Ok as a budget place to sleep
Check in was easy and quick. The guy who greeted us was friendly and polite Room on entering smelt nice and clean. However there were hairs in the sink, ring marks on the side, slats missing and in the wrong position so the bed dipped and the coffee cups were dirty. Shower took ages to warm up and overflowed into the rest of the bathroom. For the price you pay for a room you’d be better going elsewhere. Definitely not worth £140. Our room overlooked 2 bars which we wasn’t told about and the noise was a little annoying Breakfast was awful. Cheap bread to use in a 4 slice toaster and the boiled eggs were all well done and green inside. Bacon was streaky, fruit selection poor and the hash browns were tasteless. We are not fussy eaters but that really was the worst we’ve had in a hotel.
Ok
Good location. Easy to get to city centre and university. Room was in excellent condition, also very comfortable and spacious. Good breakfast that had a choice of cooked food, cereal and pastry.
Great staff, very helpful and cordial. Kitchen staff excellent and dutiful. A bit of expected downtown area night time noise but not too shabby.
Cgeap
Value for money
Good location and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was good although probably not worth the money. Cant have any issues otherwise. Good location for getting about manchester whether by foot or tram etc
Nice place for a stopover in Manchester. The staff were really excellent and friendly. 12pm checkout and the baggage storage made things much easier. Everything was great with the room.
All great!
Room smelt, tv didn’t work properly, no one answered phone.
We don’t all wake up at the crack of dawn!
I checked in late, as I had a work Christmas do, and told the man at check in I’d be getting back around 2am, so he knew I’d probably want to sleep in. The next morning I was awoken to drilling and hammering right outside my room, there was a sign at the desk but it was small, not particularly obvious, and the man at check in made no attempt to inform me this work was going on. I managed to get back to sleep but then woke up again at 11:40 so I was rushing to get out for 12, and then just as I was getting ready to leave someone unlocked my door and came in without asking. You REALLY must do better, I understand works have to be done, but either pre-warn before the guests arrive, or make sure the work starts AFTER checkout, because not everyone has the same body clock or sleep hours! Unlikely to stay here again
Unhygienic
Dirty towels and unclean bathroom! Avoid
The room needed a deep clean and a maintenance man to fix the current DIY job eg. The sealant around the sink area was like like a child had done it. The dirt on the window sills had clearly been there a long time, there was hair and dust on the bed base, stain on the wall. There was a poster in the lift that explained maintenance was happening that week due to fire reg changing. This poster was screwed up, ripped in one corner and doodled on for my entire stay. Plus side...the initial entrance area looked welcoming. I didnt ask for a change of room while i was there as it seemed unlikley the rest of the rooms would be any different. I'm now having trouble reaching manager to share photos after initial convo via Expedia. They're not replying, so hoping this will help.
Hotel was ok nothing special breakfast was rubbish .
Will not be back here
Unfortunately, my daughter has autism therefore loud noises are a problem so should’ve been notified that there was building work being carried out on all floors. Even a breakfast you had to climb over the guy working in the cupboard to get a coffee. Receptionist was rude. You can even stay or cancel. No sorry no apology.
It’s was bad experience
The electricity socket in the room weren’t working and in morning wanted to have. Coffee both cups had stains in them and glued paper of PG tea bag inside I felt disgusting and in the toilet there was stains on lip stick on the sink
The hotel was in a convent location for our trip to Manchester and the staff that we interacted with were helpful and polite. The construction work going on didn’t affect our stay and there were a lot of signs explaining the timings and what to expect. It was our room that was lacking, the bathroom door did not close probably and the shower also didn’t close probably so the bathroom would be flooded.
Gorgeous stay in great location
Window didn’t close, bathroom smelt like wee. Expensive room rate for quality of hotel
Didn’t expect the world for what you pay understandably but we arrived and there were works going on in the hotel over a four week period. This wasn’t told at the time of booking and I personally think there should be a discount for anyone staying during that period as with the noise and engineers drilling above your room at 9am in the morning I think it’s safe to say you’re not getting the normal experience. The bed had a broken wooden slant in it that my partner noticed in the early hours of the morning but I didn’t even bother mentioning it (that’s on me I’m aware) as the two times someone was actually on duty they didn’t seem the most welcoming and I’m not even sure I wanted the hassle of moving room. The car park id planned to say in across the road had now shut permanently as of last weekend so that threw a spanner in the works but luckily there’s a NCP car park round the corner with a Premier Inn alongside it. I’d say if you’re banking on the area probably stay there as the location is good itself but the quality will be better there I imagine.
Comfortable and good shower. Comfy bed and good service.
An Ibis hotel, a little way from the city centre
A well run, friendly Ibis. It's fairly handy for the city centre and public transport, about ten minutes walk from the main nodes. The hotel is simple but properly appointed.
Great location and the reception staff were very friendly. Overall I enjoyed the stay. The only not so good thing is that the bathroom was very small and humid. Opted in not cleaning everyday which means I had to use the wet bath towel the next day which I didn't like
Hotel was perfect location to attend the Manchester Psych festival being a stones throw from a couple of the venues. The late check out was an added bonus. Room was comfortable & I had a peaceful night's sleep. The shower was hot & powerful & didn't soak the bathroom as happens in so many hotels these days. Check in & out was perfectly swift & I had no trouble being let in after midnight. I would definitely stay here again if attending something in the Oxford Road area.
Nice hotel fair price
Ibis Manchester
Close to everything, public transport, restaurants, historic sites
Property is located in a fantastic area, very close to shops and pubs. The bed is clean and comfortable, however there’s a weird smell from the bathroom. Staff unfortunately weren’t the nicest.
Ideal for me for a couple of nights. Hot weather so window open - noisy traffic especially police cars! Not hotel's fault..
Would stay again
Convenient for local amenities. Friendly reception staff. Good breakfast. Would stay again.
Amazing friendly staff, nice clean rooms,
Great food, nice location, the staff is friendly and amazing.
Good hotel , chaotic breakfast
Good hotel and friendly staff , breakfast was a bit chaotic , there did not seem enough staff to keep everything topped up as a result I had breakfast in stages as when something was restocked !
N
Nice room in a good location.
The hotel is fine. It was in a good location for a conference. The rooms are surprisingly nice, compared with the lobby area.
Ibis you were here
Positioned centrally for all our needs. 02 Apollo Arndale Shopping Centre The Blue Kitchen Just a few places visited. Hotel clean, friendly, everything you need. Definitely stop here again and again.
Dont bother
Had a room which smelt of sewage No alternative room available so provided an air freshener
Great stay
Hotel was very clean and presentable, would definitely stay again if staying in Manchester. Although we didn’t opt for breakfast, the area seemed very basic with limited options.
Comfortable and convenient
Comfortable and tidy room in a great location for the train stations and the universities. It's a bit of a walk to the northern district where the best selection of restaurants is, but there are some great spots around the area too. Everything with neat, tidy and working; no noise issues.
stayed here for one night whilst inbetween moving uni accom, staff were friendly, room was nice and just what we needed. would recommend and stay again :)
The hotel was perfectly situated for what I was doing the next day. For me it was a bit dated, ‘tired’ and the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable, meaning I had a bad night’s sleep.
Pretty basic, but clean, comfortable, great location and lovely, helpful staff. Slept extremely well and breakfast was very good. Can't ask for more than this. Thank you to all the team.
Good location in Manchester city centre
Good location about 10-15 minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road train station. Room was fine, with large bed.
Easy to get to from Picadilly. Helpful staff. Comfortable stay, but you are right near a train line which may not be suitbale for some.
Not my first time staying at this hotel and unfortunately this time I was disappointed about how I was treated: I arrived early (1:30pm) and went in to have my bag stored. I simply asked if early check-in would be possible. Frederic, the staff who talk to me, said no. I asked if I could maybe come earlier (~2:45pm) and he said no. When I returned at 2:55pm (many people were already given their keys) I was told to wait 10-15mins which I refused and so was given a room on the ground floor. I learned the next day by a colleague that when they came in with the same situation on the same day and about same time, they were offered early check-in for a 10 GBP fee. I would have happily paid for it and wish I was offered too. I'm assuming that it is because I look different... I won't be staying there again. Note: the other staff were great.
Area around looked blrak
Clean. Helpful staff. Walking distance to Manchester Central. Would recommend
Great overnight stay
Was only there overnight hotel had everything we needed clean spacious room staff really friendly and helpful close to everything we needed
Great inner city location, room was a good size, all furniture was fit for purpose, best shower in the past several hotels I've used. Quiet with good sound insulation. Accessible, certainly would choose Ibis hotels again.
Room was cold. Thermostat was not working. Bathroom / toilet room door needs some tightening up. Loose on the hinges. The 3rd floor 'lift' bottom for 'down' does not work. One has to push the 'up' button and when the lift arrives, one pushes the down button after standing in the lift.
Typical budget hotel but not particularly budget. Too expensive for what it is
The hotel is very convenient for exploring central Manchester, museum, art galleries and universities. However, it is in a fairly run down area with its rough sleepers and intoxicated teens. I didn’t feel I was in any danger but it is visually threatening. The car park opposite the hotel which is where you are likely to park, has seen better days with pools of water and gushing streams from upper floors to those below. (Water feature?) Nevertheless, the rooms, though compact, are comfortable and clean. The bed was firm but I got a good nights sleep. I was not disturbed by other guests suggesting good sound proofing. Breakfast was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and decent size, nice white bedsheets and comfy pillow. Downside was the bathroom, it wasn't clean I had to clean it when I arrived and there was stains in the sink and walls.
Hotel was in good location and room was great
Decent, quiet, comfortable
I would never stay again or recommend it to anyone. They were in helpful.
Dirty room, not be properly cleaned in ages, mouldy grapes under the desk. No staff in reception in the morning to discuss, just had to drop keys and leave. There's a reason this place is cheap.
Nice hotel
Friendly helpful greeting. Nice room. No issues.
perfect mid-week overnight
Great hotel to where we were attending a conference. Somewhere to eat nearby and lovely staff. Very good price
As it was only a short 2-night stay for us, overall the hotel served its purpose nicely. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was perfectly situated in the city for our needs, there were some decent drinks available in the reception bar, the bed was comfy and everything from the TV and wifi to the shower and kettle worked well. The room could have been cleaner (we came across several stray hairs in the shower when we arrived) and there were construction works happening across from us, which disturbed our sleep. But despite these small drawbacks, we'd definitely stay in an Ibis again
Not so cheap and cheerful
Good location, bathroom mingin tho
Overall this place a I good place to stay. I would not mind staying here again and hope the next time, I stay there, these minor items will be fixed. 1) Reservation system is not linked to Hotel.com. This caused a delay in checking in. 2) The room were in was hard to close. The location is good, but another ibis location in Manchester is better if you are a tourist.
Skid row
For £100 a night it has to be 100% the worst place we have visited by far was that bad that we paid £100 for our last night and stil left and paid £90 for a different hotel witch was amazing! We will not return ever! Place was disgusting and falling to peace’s and to make things worse staff hardly spoke English and also I’d like to add! Blocking tvs to take fire sticks is absolute madness and pathetic! Unblock HDMIs on your tvs take my advice
Fault in sink waste reported, actioned within thirty minutes. Well done.
Friendly helpful reception staff.
The room was no-frills, but a decent size and clean. Basic amenities were provided, and staff were friendly and helpful.
Close to all that you will need for a short stay in Manchester. Overall the hotel is great however the rooms are rather aged. Staff were attentive and kind this made up for the aged rooms.
Train noise disturbs sleep
Windows dont appear to he double glazed. Very noisy from the trainline opposite the hotel especially if youre on the 5th floor at the dame level as the train bridge
Great location, room and price
Central location, clean and comfortable room. I didn't have any food or drinks but the cafe area looked attractive.
Ibis
The hotel is great for value, I use ibis quite often, and Manchester has a lot of them. The bed was comfortable, I had a soft and a firm pillow, however the interior if the room is dented here and there, and I thought the toilet seat will not last.
Staff were great and really helpful. Easy walk to both Oxford Road and Piccadilly stations.
Good stop for a business stay. Quick and easy check in / out. Would recommend as a stay if you need the close amenities and ease of walking from Piccadilly!
Lovely staying
Easy check in, nice staffs, comfort bed, quiet room, perfect !
Comfy room, welcoming staff. Fine for short stay
Quiet and comfortable although the TV did not work
Wont be back again
Rude staff at night time
Excellent location for a gig
My partner and i were attending a gig at Yes which was just down the road. The location was fantastic for this. Check in was seamless, the charles street multi storey parking across the road was closing that night for xmas (would have been £16 for 24 hours) but the NCP multi storey car park around the corner on princess street a 2 minute walk away was £14.95 for 24 hours if you downloaded and paid in the app.
Good budget hotel. You get what you pay for. Conveniently located
Not the best
Good location but a very basic hotel for the money
Well placed in the city andclose to ample parking. Room was fine, although a little worn.
Room was good never stayed in an Ibis before. Had the breakfast it was nice. Probably will stay in another one. Not too shabby.
Good service, awful rooms.
I was really disappointed with my room. Stuffy unless the window was open onto the main street. The bathroom looks like it had burn marks on the top unit and the shower lacked pressure and cleanliness. The room itself smelled as if it had been smoked in and there was a Glade airfreshener in the wall that has promptly made my bag and clothes smell of the suffering of a thousand damned hotel greeters. The service was great on walking in, it's just the rest that needs a lot of improvement.
Blood, stains and more oh my! .. asked to get new changes of sheets and towels and dirty, reused same stained sheets. Terrible this was the worst hotel in the world that I have ever been to. Would not recommend this to anyone.
Rude reception ladies, DON'T STAY ON 5TH FLOOR
At the beginning the reception lady arranged us to 5th floor. There are two lifts in the hotel, when we went into the left side lift we found ONLY the '5' button is not working,so we decided to go to 6th floor and changed the lift, but both lift are using the same button so the same lift opened the door again,we sent that lift down finally we can take the other lift to 5th floor. We entered the room, even the window is fully opened we can smell a strong stink of cigarette, the washroom door cannot be closed, there are hair and dust on the bed.It is totally unacceptable so we went down and asked for changing the room. The first lady said she will ask the maintenance team to sort it out but no one answered the phone. We said the lift is not going to 5th floor, the other lady said 'you can change the lift on the other floor' without looking at us(but smiling like a dog when she was serving other local gentlemen, we think it is racist actually). We said we are not only staying for one night so absolutely have to get the room changed, and we are going to trigger the fire alarm every night during shower as the washroom door can't be closed. They shut their mouth up and changed the room for us unwillingly. You can see they are not protecting people's privacy and human right. We got a room on the first floor and the AC was on, everything is good. After we went to dinner and come back we found someone entered our room WITHOUT permission and switched the AC off. Very noisy at night. NEVER again.
Excellent value for money. Super friendly and helpful staff
It us in the middle of the university and close to downtown
Everything we needed for a reasonable price
Quick and friendly check in. Great location, no free parking but not unusual in city centre, plenty of paid options nearby. Everything we needed in the room. Traffic noise was loud with window open, but again to be expected. Pillows were pretty flat but everything else fine.
Nice comfortable stay …
All in all a very pleasant stay … small but comfortable room and bathroom … could have had an extra pillow and breakfast a little limited but ok.
Great value for money, really comfy bed and good sIlene rooms.
Old hotel in need of update. Staff unfriendly.
Excellent stay. A special mention for the male French receptionist ( didnt get his name unfortunately!). He was very welcoming, friendly and attentive, making a very positive first impression!
So noisy outside
Really noisy from outside in the street. The window did not shut tightly and there were people shouting throughout the night and bidvest deliveries each morning at 05:30, which sounded like they were being stored right under my room. By far the worst sleep I've had in a hotel in a long time.
Room was ok just for a few nights, but the bathroom was not very clean and a dreadful smell would be in the bathroom after running the taps or flushing the toilet, also the pillows were not comfy at all which gave me and my partner neck ache, would of been nice for spare pillows in the room only given one pillow each
Great location
We really enjoyed our stay. We were walking distance to the city centre and there were loads of great restaurants around.
Convenient but around too noisy
It is fine, clean, but room really suffers from noise from outside until 3am. TV in room didn’t work.
The room was not well prepared,
Quick & easy great location
Quick easy clean hotel! Very impressed.
Safe
Excellent staff & clean rooms

Check in and out were low stress, it was convenient to several things that I wanted to see and the price was very fair on short notice.
