Great location, good breakfast and friendly staff
Not a 5 star but better
Everything was good
Basic and clean..perfect for early morning trains
The Ibis is friendly, clean, and quiet. The room is a very basic setup but works if you are just staying overnight as a train transit. Its locality to the central stations is perfect for those early starts. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
I always stay here
Everything was great
The hotel is well placed literally within the main Hbf buildings in Dusseldorf. The immediate area outside has a lot of visible poverty. The hotel inside is modern, clean and easy to get around from reception. My room was one floor below ground; however this looked out onto a nice courtyard. Breakfast was very good. Information, however, was not so great as I had to ask about breakfast location and times. Also there was zero information in the room for the hotel or wifi (I don't think there was a wifi). The privided shower gel/soap dispensers were hard to use with the plastic-end coming off. I resorted to using my own gel/shampoo which I always bring!
based in the main train station
Very small room but locates in the central station, which is very convenient to travel around the city.
Its standard minus safe box, kettle, or Iron. Rooms are relatively small and building condition, specially hallways are average or below.
Dirty carpet
Very well located being attached to the main rail station. Convenient ticket sales for local and distant rail tickets just opposite hotel entrance in book shop. Lots of food availability in station concourse attached to hotel.
Standard iBis, pretty basic but rooms were clean. Convenient for the station but the area around the station isn't particularly nice.
Great location next to the train station and great staff
Not a very clean hotel. But location next to the main train station was very useful. Staffs were helpful. But spent very disruptive night with false fire alarms twice in a span of 1 hour.
I had one night in IBIS, the location was very convenient, just next to the station.
The hotel location is very good, almost connected to the central train station. Area is safe enough. Many restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets around the hotel. The hotel is clean, it has what you need, though would be amazing if hotels consider adding a bidet in the toilets since people from around the world visit it, because it can be irritating not having it in toilets for people who need it. Cleaning staff are very kind and polite, even staff in the breakfast area are kind. Breakfast is good enough, you can start the day with it, for me it was really good. The reception girl that checked me in was kind, I wish I knew her name, but other receptionists could smile a little bit more, it wouldn't hurt anyone to make the client feel welcomed in the hotel and in the country, for a foreigner the hotel is their safe point, so make it feel so please. Maybe one or two of the receptionists will answer questions gladly, but others will make you regret asking with their attitude, they will also ask you to google it, sure I can google it, but it is also very helpful to ask a local, not any local, an employee of the hotel local, google is not always clear with enough information especially about HOTEL area and transportation. All in all, it was a nice stay, just with some kindness from the receptionists, as clients should be treated with kindness, would have been perfect.
Quite studenty so a bit noisy. But the room was fine enough. Breakfast was okay.
Average
Hotel is in a perfect location if you have a train in the morning with multiple eateries within 2 minutes of the hotel. I arrived through the night and the member of staff was attentive and spoke good English, which was appreciated. The room was basic and very no frills. What was disappointing was there the room having no kettle, thus meaning I could not have a hot drink overnight. Overall, if you’re looking for a cheap stay near Dusseldorf airport, this will do the job.
Whilst there were many issues with the room (215), most significantly, following a shower in the morning, the entire floor in the bedroom flooded. This meant items on the floor were soaked through, and in particular, a handbag worth €150 . I do have photos of the extent of the flood which I am happy to share. Due to catching an ICE to Berlin, I was unable to fully speak to reception beyond informing them that the room had flooded - of which they were apparently already aware? If so, I don’t understand why someone had not come up to check on the room, or myself, sooner? Clearly, this is absolutely unacceptable and I would very much like a full refund for the room. This is on top of other issues including: money being taken and refunded before arrival; the heating being on so high the room was essentially a sauna; dirt on the floor, especially in the corners; the bathroom door (slider?) not shutting completely and significant light and noise pollution from the outside. Note - the above has been shared with the hotel via an complaint email.
See for yourself
Definitely not the ibis we know. See pics which tell thousands of words. Due to jetlag after flying for close to 20hrs, we wanted to take a afternoon nap upon checking in. But room was very stuffy with sunlight coming in. Though it was already supposedly spring time and they refused to turn on the air conditioning and had no standing or table fan to lend us. All they could say was all the rooms are the same. Didn't allow us to change rooms too. Luckily, evening came quite fast, we open the windows to let cold air in so we could sleep. Room is really in need of repairs or deep cleaning.
Noisy, cramped, great to catch a 6 am train.
The room spelt of cigarette smoke, thats the only thing that let it down.
Dropkick murphys
Great location right in the train station Quick check-in and out Friendly staff
good option for staying near the train station
Very comfortable clean basic room and a very helpful staff member. Some confusion about whether I had prepaid (I hadn’t) but it was sorted out and I was able to pay what I owed. The entrance to the Hotel is on the station concourse which was unexpected but I found it in the end.
Proximity to train station was most important for me.
Not a Good Feeling
It Was not good. They Say that there is Air Condition but there was not. In Fact when I ask them they say now its Autumm we can't Open AC that was Rubbish. It was 19 Degree Temperature and I felt Hot but it was not an Option for me.
Fantastic location, ultra convenient if you're coming to DUS by train and just need somewhere to sleep. It's clean, but the hotel is very tired, has seen better days. At night it's noisy around the station as well.
Convenient location
I hope the hotel can equip water boiler for the custom who needs that, as well as more towels in bathroom
Good location, friendly staff
Convenient location, if travelling by train
Hotel is inexpensive and in the train station.
I liked so much
Very good location for travelling in and around Germany. You can use the facilities on the railway concourse ( various restaurants, take away food etc and a supermarket). There’s a taxi rank just beside the hotel/ station, there’s nothing that I didn’t like.
Friends visit - Duisburg May 2022
Myself and a friend travelled to Dusseldorf to visit friends in nearby Duisburg. The Hotel, although right next to HBF, is very good as we heard no noise whatsoever from the train station. Breakfast was of a very high quality and the staff could not have been anymore helpful.
Great location right at the main station. Perfect for a short stay. Very clean and surprisingly quiet considering where it is located.
Ibis in station
Standard Ibis with entrance directly from the station. A bit tired inside, but functional. Good breakfast. Excellent value.
Clean and modern and in the center of the city, close to everything
Very Accommodating
The hotel was very help during my stay.
Highlights: Italian TV, Very nice breakfast and very nice staff. The location couldn't be better for people travelling by train.
It was amazing experience in ibis hotel Hauptbanhaf Dusseldorf . The hotel stick to Covid 19 health standard . The breakfast is basic but very high quality. Rooms are very neat and clean. Roberto in the reception will take care of every single inquiry you will be lucky to meet him. All the staff are friendly and polite the location is perfect near to the main landmarks altstad, kings avenue Rhine river.
The overall stay was good value for money. The cleaning was only upon request which I would say was surprising for Germany. Breakfast was good.
Alway a great place to stay, 2 minutes walk from the Platform at the HbF
The location is good but the room is not 100% clean
The location is perfect after a late flight as it is accessible from inside the main railway station which has a direct connection from/to the airport. The check in receptionist was first class and the room was clean and soundproofed so you would not know that you were in a city, let alone in a busy railway station. We would stay here again if the price was right.
Good stay
Excellent
Budget hotel with convenient location
Great location, reasonably comfortable though basic hotel. Super location for catching the train, you don’t even have to step outdoors. There is a public open air carpark very close by in front of the train station. Room is basic though the essential items are there. No tissue paper aside from toilet roll, no kettle, no coffee and tea, no fridge. My bedsheet had some suspicious bits of dust on it so I asked the housekeeping to change the sheets again just to be sure they were fresh.
Perfect location
Location is excellent , built on to the main railway station. Easy access to buses, trams, trains and U-barn. Rooms are a little on the small side and a kettle would be nice addition. Breakfast good and all staff very friendly and helpful.
Good location
Good location
OK stay at great location with very good service.
Our stay was ok. Beds comfortable, room clean, but small. No coffee/tea makings provided. Location great right at station. Restaurant good, had lunch there. Staff friendly and helpful.
It's good to have screen on café in ground floor. I enjoyed watching rugby match even I didn't expect to watch it in Germany ;) One drawback of this hotel is luggage room was limited. You may encounter you cannot leave your luggage before check-in or after check-out.
I chose this hotel because it is attached to the main train station, thus, very easy to get to when you've departed from your train. It's not a luxury place but it's comfortable, clean, and sooo convenient. The bed, the shower, front desk--all great. Need to catch a train?--just walk out of the hotel into the station. Need U-bahn to get around the city?-- also walk out into the train station and then look for signs pointing to stairway down to the U-bahn. This place suited my needs very well and I would definitely stay here again.
Super location, clean
Superb location
Reasonably priced hotel with good breakfast
Hotel has good location on the top of the railway station, but surroundings questionable. Very well trained and attentive front desk personnel and can make your arrival very welcoming! I must admit, breakfast was also good and with diverse choice and real coffee! Sleep quality fine and also well cleaned rooms!
Great location, clean room and nice staff. Good value for money
Staff were very helpful The hotel is right in the train station makes it convenient for a traveler to sleep hang out in the city or have a nice dinner before taking a train or connecting to the airport
The staff was friendly and helpful..love the service. Keep it up ..just awesome
Right above the central station. Clean, small, functional, convenient. Good place to stay
Pleasant and central
Pleasant and central
Clean rooms and the AC works!!
Everything was great except for Internet access. I was never able to connect to it. The staf was great in trying to help, but something was wrong with the routers. No computer or phone could connect. Otherwise, it was a great stay and I will use ibis again!
Excellent Location at Hauptbahnhof for stop-over transit rail/air. Also central transport hub and walking distance to main shops. Furnishing basic but adequate for a single night stay. Big problem was the aircon was so ineffective I could only detect any airflow from the grid by wetting my finger. As a consequence room was far too hot for a good night's sleep. Good Buffet Breakfast.
Can't beat the location
Very convenient for the train. The hotel is right in the train station.
A few days in Dusseldorf
This hotel is in a great location just outside the main railway station. It took us 12mins from the airport and only cost 2.9 euros. There is plenty shops bars and eating places. Would stay again. We were put off a bit by the entrance but once inside it was a nice place. The breakfast was good and very filling. We even purchased a coffee and a beer when we arrived and we were served by friendly staff. I asked for a local map which was quickly given to me.
Great location, clean and pleasant room
I needed to stay in Düsseldorf in order to catch an early flight the next day. Location excellent, no need even to get wet after leaving mainline station. Would stay there again without hesitation.
Super convenient location directly next to Dusseldorf Hbf and very knowledgeable and attentive staff. Great bar and breakfast amenities! Pleasant and clean stay.
Good clean and close to public transport
Overall very good and close to transport. No tea or coffee or mini bar inside the room.
Handy for the Train Station
Absolutely Fine
Convenient location to railway station, clean and tidy room, friendly staff.
Conveniently located in the main station. I have had better rooms here. This one was functional, with a rather cramped bathroom. Good breakfast.
very convenient location, right inside the Dusseldorf train station. Walking distance from eating places.
As Ibis always is clean, comfortable and in good location Couldn't fault
Always a goof place to stay, next to the railway station.
It had all the basics, was quiet and in a very convenient location. The glass shower door had a hole in the area where a door knob usually sits but it was manageable. The room # 400 was a little tight but ok.
Budget hotel at an excellent location
Location cannot be any better right at the entrance of Dus HBF! Check-in was smooth and nice staff. Room was very budget, not even had an electric kettle - which is a basic everywhere. There was a sofa but it was so small that could not figure out its purpose. The bed was big and comfortable with good mattress.
Very nice for the price point. Actually better than expected.
Reasonable pricing, located in the station so an early morning train to the airport was easy to catch. Good snacking facilities in the station too.
Overnight stay prior to early morning flight home
Basic clean hotel located within the railway station. It was handy for taking the train to the airport and only 10 mins walk from city centre
Good business hotel for 1 night
Good business hotel, with a direct access to the adjacent train station. Small but clean room, with a comfortable bed. Too bad the drapes let in some outside light in the morning.
Great location Wonderful breakfast Clean Helpful staff
it's location is unbeatable, just like the other IBIS. I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel, and I will surely choose to stay here again if come visiting again.
Good convenient hotel stay located within the hauptbahnhof. A walk away from the main town center but a good choice if you will be travelling out of the city.
good location, friendly staff
Awesome hotel, perfect location / only gripe was it was noisy through the night in our corridor. Otherwise lovely - lovely outside seating area and suited our trip perfectly. Thank you
The hotel was very convenient -- right above the train station! It was clean and the breakfast was wonderful.
Excellent location
This is a standard ibis hotel, basic but clean. The major advantage is its location, right by the side of the train station. There is even a door to get into the hotel from the inside of the station. Major tourist interest points are within walking distance and access to public transportation is very easy. We stayed there for one night and took a flight at Dusseldorf Airport the next night. we walking to the Promenade to enjoy the sunset at the Rhine River. This was a straight walk of about 25 minutes from the hotel but we visited most interesting points of the city along the way and so it took us much longer. That was within our plan. We returned by public transport. In the next morning, we took a train to visit Aachan. The airport is less than 10 minutes by train. So the location is ideal for us to visit Aachan and go to the airport. For those, who do not need a luxurious hotel, this hotel is highly recommended.
Good hotel. Very basic rooms, no T&cs. Only a pillow each and not any extra in room so had to ask for another. Breakfast good, plenty of choice of meats, cheeses fruit, yoghurts, bacon, bread and eggs. Really lovely outsideterrace. All rooms look on to the terrace. Quiet despite being on top of the train station and shopping mall. Could improve outside entrance to make it more noticeable. Some local pictures in corridors/rooms would give it a more personal touch outside of main areas felt a bit bland, but thats just nit picking as have stayed in a few ibis' and they had a bit more character. Hotel price good snd good location. Overall would stay again for sure.
Helpful staff. Room and bathroom small but adequate. No minibar or safe. Good breakfast
Just up stair of train station-great location.
Extremely convenient location
An excellent location next to the station. The rooms were serviceable and met expectations for the price point (which is very reasonable). Recommended for travellers who are seeking convenience and relying on the trains for transportation.
Middle of night loud banging and screaming. Rough neighborhood
My biggest problem was water pressure in shower, very low.
Good two. Days
Good Hotel in the place handy to town
Basic hotel in Düsseldorf main railway station
OK hotel for the money and good location. Staff was helpful. Room was small but clean. Free internet was working OK, but the signal varied and the speed was not very fast. Toilet seat "ring" would not stay in up position. Thrashcan was in bathroom only. Breakfast was quite good. I stayed in the basement floor and noises from the room above could be heard.
Convenient hotel in a train station
Overall it was good except the cold wave sweeping Europe at this time. If the weather Is better Dusseldorf is a quaint city to explore, plenty of shops near the promenade area.
never again
this hotel was unfriendly and unhelpful. I was constantly interrupted...I could not ever finish a sentence.this made my stay so bad.
handy hotel for station
location is great for station and only 15 min walk to Altstadt - hotel staff were ok but shower didn't work properly although this was fixed pretty quick - need room key to use lift but it didn't always work - average hotel for the price
Good location for transport links as connected to station so train and underground easy plus taxi, bus and tram stops outside. Hotel is clean and tidy and does the job for short trip / stay in the city. Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Comfy, convenient room for short stay
Loved that we could walk right off our train and into the hotel. We were able to hop a tram/subway to the Christmas Market and Wonder Wheel for a few hours out in the evening and come back to the hotel and get a good nights sleep and grab our rental car in the morning just on the other side of the train station. The room was clean and comfy and the staff was friendly.
Good value
