The hotel was nice and staff friendly, but a nightclub next door blasted music from 10:00 PM to 2 AM. It was so loud our windows were shaking. We were not able to sleep. I would not stay at this property again based on the noise of the nightclub next door. It is a pricey hotel, I expect to be able to get a good night's sleep.
This was my second day and the HVAC controls are incomprehensible. Each suite has a mini split and the controllers do not make much sense and they never seem to do what you think they are doing. This is the hotels only short coming and they should address it immediately. in a hotel room is critical to Pleasant stay.
Our stay at the Weyanoke was amazing! The front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind. We can’t wait to return!
It was a great property and peaceful atmosphere.
Very nice. Clean spacious rooms. Huge shower. Balcony very nice! Loved it will return!
Great place to stay!
Beautiful old hotel. Our room was spotless and appeared to be recently remodeled. Many dining options walking distance. We will go back again.
Beautiful historic hotel steps from Longwood and historic Farmville.
The property was very comforting. Elegant and warm
Hotel clean, quite and great staff.
Mostly good. Friendly staff. Need some routine maintenance on plumbing and hvac.
The hotel was very quaint - nicely decorated and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. There were plenty of dining options both at the hotel and within walking distance. We spent time riding bikes on the High Bridge trail. It was very easy access from the hotel. We had an excellent stay and hope to stay there again!
Beautiful room, breakfast was not so great
Day trip
Hotel Weyanoke is a great place to stay while you’re in Farmville. It’s centrally located and has its own restaurants in the hotel. The staff is great. The only downside to this hotel is that there are no bathtubs in any of the rooms, only showers.
Great location.
We had an excellent stay. We were nervous because the price was reasonable but we ended up extremely happy once we arrived. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff was accommodating and even better, the restaurant attached to the hotel was great. Usually hotel restaurants are overpriced and not tasty - this one was great dinner.
It was a cool hotel.
Property needs some minor repairs. Our room had a busted bed frame that squeaked when you moved, also the closet door was off the rails so I had to lift to open. Maybe most disappointing was the rooftop bar closed on a Saturday at 11, they were supposed to be open till 1am but were “slow”. This is unacceptable. Also somehow they ran out of soap for the sink. The “order hadn’t come in”. So step in the shower to wash your hands I guess.
Wonderful front desk staff- examples of stellar customer service. Gracious hosts . All around beautiful hotel.Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was large with an amazing shower. The only complaint-- is that after being told the rooftop bar will be open till 1am, husband and I went for a drink after a show around 1050 and were told they were closing, no explanation or eye contact as the person was on their phone sitting at the bar while 2 others were shutting down the area- Disappointed- also wished they would have put a sign in elevator or told front desk. As we were leaving ran into more guest wanting to get a drink as well, we let them know and they too were slightly surprised that they closed so early. Otherwise lovely stay Also the breakfast attendant- amazing . She was kind and friendly. Went out of her way to help guest
Good hotel updated
This is a really cool older boutique-style hotel. The rooms could use some refreshing (new carpets, paint, repairs to the shower), but are overall quaint. The hotel is convenient to Longwood University and Main Street is very walkable. The gentleman who runs the breakfast was wonderful and a pleasure to chat with.
Nice hotel overall, it was a little dusty but mostly clean. The staff weren't super friendly (except the cleaners, who were lovely) but not outright rude or anything. I'd stay again.
It’s okay
Stayed here years ago and it wasnt quite as awesome this time as last. Checkin was understaffed. No ice bucket in the room and ice somewhere in another wing in the basement. . Quiet and trendy.
Hotel Weyanoke
The room was average. The hotel front office staff were amazing. The continental breakfast wasn't very good.
Mostly pleased
Beautiful hotel everyone was very friendly the rooms were nice the only thing I had a problem with is house keeping didn’t provide clean towels every day I stayed there for 5 days house keeping only came in once other then that my stay was lovely. And I would stay there again .
Southern Comfort
We had a great stay! Clean and comfortable! The breakfast was so good and even included turkey bacon, which was a relief for two people who don’t eat pork and were traveling in the south! If you like to use a gym, know that it’s not in the hotel. You get a day pass for the Longwood University facilities. Amazing building and equipment, but .5 miles away. As a gay couple, we mostly felt very welcome, but did have some weirdness with one person at the front desk who frowned and asked multiple times if we were in the same room when I requested a gym pass. Overall, it was an awesome stay and we’d love to stay there again!
I loved that that it felt historic and a product of it's enviornment. It was super hot in the hallways and the elevator was awful in the 400 hallway. Fortunately the rooms were very cool. Our carpet felt damp for our stay, so not sure if they were cleaned before we arrived and had not dried. I also felt like the menus were too Posh. We looked at the menu for all 3 places, and ended up at Charley's which was amazing. The eggs were also green at the breakfast - lol, so the joke of Green eggs and ham was moving thru the group that was sitting there eating. :-) The girl taking care of the food noticed it and the kitchen person removed the eggs and brought new ones out. It wasn't terrible and I love that we walked to orientation etc, and we would stay again, but just thought I would mention what we were thinking.
This property has southern hospitality with a very nostalgic property
I just have one FYI comment before a glowing review: the parking lot is not accessible to the hotel. It's behind the building with many stairs going up to the lobby. So if you have mobility issues, have someone drop you at the front if you can. I didn't have issues at my stay, but I'm always conscious of it for loved ones that I often travel with. It's in the heart of the downtown area, so I definitely don't blame them for using what they have in terms of space. This hotel was lovely!!! In many ways, it's as nice as some luxury hotels I've stayed in. So many small touches that make you feel at home. A very charming historic building that's walkable to downtown shops and restaurants. There are 3 restaurant/lounge areas, so it'd be great for groups. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. It was very peaceful in the room, with an amazing bathroom. I'll definitely stay there again.
The hotel is beautiful but the room I was assigned wasn’t so clean. I’ve stayed here before and loved it at first sight. There was issue with parking this trip which was very annoying.
Lovely
Very well kept. The staff are so welcoming, and understanding. The stay made it feel like we where at home with how friendly everyone was.
Rough start, a quick recovery but one more lapse.
Things got off to a rough start as the front desk only had us down for one room reservation when we had reserved four rooms. They quickly recovered, though, and got us the other rooms at the same rate as the one they got correctly, even though two of the rooms represented upgrades. However, one room had not been properly cleaned (dirty towels had not been picked up or replaced); we put the dirty towels outside the door but they were not picked up until morning, despite front desk promises of prompt attention. The hotel location in the heart of downtown was great, as we went bar-hopping to 4 different bars/restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was fine.
Nice hotel
It was great for a visit to Longwood University. We enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and the campus.
Nice and quiet room. Easy access to restaurants in hotel.
Nice property at a great price.
Great hotel
Bailey history tour
Beautiful hotel. The bed is nice and the bathroom is the best I have ever stayed at. I have not ventured to breakfast yet but all else a 5 star
Very modern hotel that began in an historic building.
Hotel Weyanoke in Farmville VA is in its own class as THE place to stay! Beautiful and wonderfully comfortable. In addition to its smiling staff and 3 restaurants, the renovated style of and amenities in the rooms of this historic hotel are uniquely charming plus uniquely functional and superbly "user friendly"! The bathroom shower and towel ladder are particularly, VERY helpfully noteworthy!! Unique also are the style and selection of artwork throughout the rooms. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Very nice property. Beautiful bathroom.
This is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are big and nicely appointed. The staff is very nice. The parking is unique in that it’s somewhat separated from the hotel. They do have handicap parking that makes access much easier. Will definitely stay here again!
Nice place
It was great!
Older hotel, but beautifully restored. Room had USB ports readily available, and a nice shower. A little hard to load and unload, but that’s not a huge thing. Really nice rooftop bar. Would stay here again.
Beautiful property. Wonderful spacious rooms. Excellent roof top deck. Please let us walk from the main floor to the breakfast floor—taking a tiny elevator one floor down is strange. Also great pizza!!! And it’s great to have free breakfast. The bacon was odd, but it was great to have real milk for coffee.
Just a great old property. It has been updated. The restaurants are also nice.
Not very clean / beware of basement rooms
We booked a suite and it was in the basement. There was barely a window and the the room was very dirty. The hotel obviously had some sort of water leak and the entire room smelled like sewage. It was extremely difficult to get the hotel to move our room. There were loud fans in the hallway trying to dry whatever had leaked. We were finally able to move rooms after complaining several times. The new room was much cleaner and actually had a window.
The people at Hotel Wyandotte are pleasant, courteous and professional. I accidentally left a spare shirt in the closet and they called me to tell me it was at the front desk! That’s great Housekeeping and management! Thank you
Great hole in the wall hotel. Worth traveling into the city and not taking the easy way out with a hotel near the highway. Parking is easy but not connected directly to the hotel. Restaurant next door was an easy walk and great variety. Hotel restaurant for a Tuesday night did not have much variety on their menu.
Lovely place to stay
We stayed in the newer part of the hotel. Our room was super comfortable and immaculate! The spacious bathroom boasted generous vanity and huge shower. We enjoyed wine and cheese on our private balcony. We had dinner in the restaurant off of the lobby. Choices were limited, but staff was courteous and our veggie pizza was delicious. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. We didn’t get to visit the rooftop bar/restaurant as it wasn’t opened. Desk staff were friendly.
See above
Lovely hotel in a lovely little town.
The entire building (new) had a very strong smell of rotten eggs all weekend. This was never mentioned when we checked in.
I liked the rooftop restaurant
The room was hot the AC didn’t work as it should have.
We have stayed here a few times but this was the worst. There was a TERRIBLE odor on our floor (1st), eggs were cold (circuit breaker was tripped??) and apparently there was loud music beyond midnight at a local venue.
Awesome hotel! Clean room, great amenities, thoughtful layout. Next time, I will reserve a balcony room!
Very clean and well-appointed hotel that mixes historic ambiance with modern conveniences. Shopping and dining options close by, onsite, or walkable. However, the parking can be challenging in the evenings because of a restaurant that shares access to the parking lot. It is my choice hotel location when visiting Farmville, VA.
Our room was right above a club. The music was so loud until 2am. We were there to celebrate our Anniversary- so not being able to sleep until 2am was miserable.
Less than stellar stay
Check in was slow due to not having enough staff and once we got our room the door handle and locking mechanism were barely held together. It took a took a significant amount of time to get another room, a slight downgrade from the one we originally had booked and no money was credited back to our account. We were comped a free appetizer at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately next time we are in town we will be looking for other accommodations.
Great location across the street from Longwood University and 2 blocks from downtown area about a 10 minute walk to Green Front.
Lovely boutique hotel with nice restaurant.
Ask for a room in a quiet part of the building. Several nights a week there is loud live music playing next door at the Press Club until very late.
The walls are very thin and I did not get a good night’s sleep due to loud neighbors. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful hotel and I just recommend bringing earplugs.
Everything was up to par
The hotel was very nice. Offered 3 good restaurants for dining. Room was very spacious and well appointed. Overall, just a nice place to stay.
Parking is a little inconvenient.
Very clean and comfortable!
Hotel was lovely. Vent in the room needed cleaning. Free breakfast was terrible. Overall, a nice hotel. Get breakfast elsewhere.
Best hotel in Farmville
Hotel Weyanoke is always superior! Staff is friendly, very clean, great food options including breakfast. Close to campus and town.
It was very relaxing and the staff was very professional.
Unique property, old building that was renovated. Great location, walking distance to shopping and restaurants.
Great old hotel! Friendky staff! Great location
We like the facility very much, this is our 2nd visit. However, there is a new bar/club right across the alley and the club music went on until 2:00 am. We won't be staying there on our next visit.
Room was by elevator - wish that was clear with reservation. Recommend 2nd or third floor in Cumberland wing. Asked for room change due to location and basement level - told it could not be done as reservation by “third party” and occupancy. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Breakfast acceptable. Clean.
Highly Recommend
We had a great stay here. The hotel is great. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Staff was friendly. There are lots of walkable options for dining and shopping.
Love this hotel! Staff is wonderful. Restaurants are great. Rooms are very nice. Fantastic place to stay and enjoy Farmville!
We had a great stay! Bed was so compfy and staff was excellent.
Very nice decor, big rooms, good lighting, and a friendly staff. Hotel Weyenoke exceeded my expectations. Bravo
I love this place.
During our stay, the restaurant was closed due to “a small fire”. The Hotel itself was very nice and we enjoyed the historic displays. The staff was also fantastic! The king suite with balcony was nice and had plenty of room. The soap, shampoo and hair conditioner bottles were disgusting. There was a buildup of mold/mildew between the bottles themselves and the metal wall bracket that held them in place. Lastly, our room was next to the elevator and the door to the room did very little in the way of blocking noise, let alone louder people. Despite any of this, we enjoyed our stay and would probably do it again, but with a couple of changes.
Parking is inconvenient and behind the building but that's ok because you can handle the bags yourself. Enjoy staying in the basement level where the sewer gas smells will waft from your shower drain to complement the rusted out splash guard in the sink and broken electrical outlet. Fall asleep to the frantic racing of the upstairs guests in this sound amplifying lower level. We don't dust our decor that's historical dust. You don't need anyone to replace your towels or remove the trash because you enjoy that food carton smell, it mingles with the shower off gassing.
Great room
poor parking and breakfast was not that good of selection
Great hotel
Love this hotel, we stay at Hotel Weynaoke every time we are in Farmville.
Everything was great but the beds were super hard but other than that it was a great stay
Wonderful stay! Incredibly nice employees! Great service! Convenient location access from the university.
You must stay here!!
Amazing hotel! We’ll definitely stay here again - beautiful, historic building & gorgeous rooms - The renovations were done to perfection! It’s also walkable to the adorable downtown area.
Clean and refreshing place to stay
Loved my stay at this beautiful hotel right in downtown Farmville!
Historic old hotel with added modern charms! We enjoyed our 1 night stay. Very convenient to Longwood University (we were here for a campus tour)
The property was clean and the rooms were big. I loved the walk in shower. The room was beautiful.
Ideal Downtown Farmville stay
Hotel Weynoake is the perfect place to stay when visiting Farmville. Well apointed, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice restaurants on premise as well. Great location to walk to shops and other eateries.
In Farmville visiting Longwood University and enjoyed an amazing stay at the Hotel Weyanoke. Beyond the beautiful and very comfortable room, we enjoyed a fantastic meal while watching the “Big Game” at Effingham’s. Will definitely be back to the Hotel Weyanoke!
Always an excellent stay! Note: Only disappointment was the quality of the “hot breakfast” which fell below what is offered at the less-expensive chain hotels. Hopefully they can improve!
Always professional
Longwood Visit
Stayed for a visit with my son at Longwood. The room and hotel were very nice.
We checked in and our room was exactly across from elevators. We could tell it was not heavly populated so we asked for a room further down the hall away from elevators and were told they couldn’t do anything and we would have to contact expedia to change our room. We thought that was not an appropriate answer. We had just come from a funeral and we were not in the mood to argue. We went to dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and got the best pizza ever. That made us feel much better. The hotel was quiet and we slept well. The kuric was broken but they had great coffee in the lobby. The room had black marks on the walls, needed a new coat of paint but the bed was VERY comfy. This hotel is historic and beautiful. I am just a little sensitive due to my sad circumstances. We will be back and give it a second try. Not to overlook I still wanted my room changed when asked.
