Adequate Hotel/Service Could Be Better
The hotel was clean. The rooms are small but adequate. The location is very good. The breakfast is satisfactory. Good for the price. The problem is that guests are allowed to use the elevator during certain hours only. We checked in at approximately 3 p.m. and had to carry heavy luggage up a steep narrow marble stairway. This could have been a major problem for someone unable to lift, since the hotel is unattended after early afternoon; therefore, no one is available to help. Also, we had Hotels.Com check the daily charge for parking our car on the property before we booked the room. They called the hotel and were told the charge would be 10 euros per day which was satisfactory. We stayed 3 nights. When we checked out we were told the charge was $50 euros. We paid the charge and then called Hotels.Com who then contacted the property. Hotels.Com told us that the hotel agreed to credit our credit card the extra 20 euros charged. We’ll see.
Great location to catch the water transport to beautiful venice 5min walk...then 15 min boat trip to Venice
We loved our stay here. I would definitely stay again. The owners were wonderful, the location was wonderful and the breakfast was wonderful.
Charming, modest hotel on Lido. Good value for the money. Very Italian feeling. About a 10 minute walk from vaparetto stop but near stores and restaurants. Lovely Terrace for breakfast. I
This is a good choice when visiting Venice on a budget - transport links to and from the city city and the airport are excellent.
Pillows weren’t comfortable
Nice quiet hotel.
Nice hotel in quiet street, just off the main street in Lido,, where you will find plenty of shops and restaurants. Room had a fridge and safe, and bigger than most in Venice. Breakfast was good but same everyday. Only thing which was a little strange were the towels - which are cotton bed sheets ?! But they do get you dry and were changed everyday. TV had no English channels.
Great little hotel in a convenient location for the beach, the Vaporetto stops for Venice, shops and restaurants. Room was spacious and the air conditioning was a bonus given us Brits weren’t used to 33 degree heat!! Staff were friendly and spoke good English. Small criticism was that the breakfast buffet wasn’t always replenished , so if we came down later for breakfast there wasn’t much left. Would definitely recommend this hotel though.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean and in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. 8 min walk from Lido vaporetto stop, and quick from there to San Marco. Would definitely return :)
Lovely Venetian villa in Lido
Very conveniently located, 5 minutes from the vaporetto. Close to cafes, restaurants and other services in Lido. The personnel was very friendly and welcoming and always helpful to answer any questions regarding vaporetto timetable, events in the city, etc. Old villa with the typical Venetian charm.
Small hotel, lovely people, authentic feel. Great stay.
Lovely hotel in lido
Good three star hotel in a good location & good value.
Perfect hotel!!!! Close to restaurants and beach, friendly staff, beautiful terrace , delicious breakfast.
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, great breakfast. You have to boat taxi to the island it's on, which costs extra and takes up to 45 minutes. Beautiful scenery around hotel. Great restaurants nearby.
This is a lovely hotel in an ideal location for travelling around the lido and an excellent base for seeing the rest of Venice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic hotel on Lido. This was my fourth time to Venice and I have tried different hotels each visit but this is the first hotel I will return to for future visits to Venice. The staff is top of the line and location is fantastic. Only complaint would be the pillows are thin. I never talked to the staff about it but I'm sure they would have provided additional pillows had I brought it up.
Villa Cipro Lido
The rooms were OK, mattress very firm. No air conditioning in one of the rooms family members stayed in. For the $25.00 charge, the breakfast should have been better. You can do much better in the local cafe’s. Charge for WiFi, coffee, and the TV didnt work. Location was great however.
I found that all of the staff at Villa Cipro were very pleasant and helpful, not something you experience often when traveling. I had a great 6 nights in Lido Venice. Patrick Winter Australia
Room is ok. Breakfast is below average and expensive.
Reasonably priced Venice hotel
Great location on Lido, away from the madness of Venice but still within easy reach. We enjoyed the water bus in everyday. Hotel stay was good. Room was basic but comfortable (pillows hard but got used to them eventually). Plenty of food at breakfast and staff always happy to help. Lots of good restaurants in the area, the Gran Viale was really good, reservations needed.
Feels like home!
This place is cozy, clean, fast check in, and great staff. Bed a little firm but didn’t bother us since we only stayed one night. A short walk to the ferry and many restaurants around. We will stay here again next time we’re in Lido.
Well situated hotel for the beach and Venice
The hotel is in an excellent position for getting around. It is 5 minutes from where you can get the water taxi to Venice and 5 minutes walk in the other direction takes you to the beach. The rooms were dated, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast though was a big disappointment. We had to ask a couple of times for the coffee to be replenished and when I asked that we have some brown bread and croissants as there was only one croissant left on the tray - we were a party of 5, the first day it was done, but the second day there was no brown bread and when I commented that that wasn't very good, was told 'if it's gone, it's gone'. All in all I probably would recommend the hotel, but if staying again would consider whether buying the breakfast is a good option. We were room only.
Spent the weekend..very convenient to water shuttle.Nice quiet neighborhood with good restaurants nearby..very easy to get into Venice..enjoyed staying there
Venician villa
Great location for a Venice vacation. Many great restaurants in lido. Vaparetos are easily accessible to all of Venice.
Nice quiet hotel.
Second time I have stayed here...quiet location and small. Nice wee find.
Lovely Venitian style hotel
Great location, away from the crowded main islands. A stone's throw from the beach. Very friendly, lovely eateries.
Have just returned from a 5 day break, lovely, friendly hotel. The room was a little small and bathroom tiny, it was adequate for our needs after all on a city break the hotel is just a base. Breakfast is basic but plentiful with lots of hot tea and coffee and a variety of fruit juice. The staff extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location near to the water buses, getting into Venice really easy. We felt we had the best of both worlds, a lovely beach and exciting city. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Hotel Cipro
Room 306 was given to us as a double room - but was really a single as there was very little space for 2 people to move and the wardrobe door didn't open properly with the double bed in it. Our children had much more space in their twin room - but weren't prepared to swap!
Hotel service punches way above it's 3 stars.
We received such a wonderful reception and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely hotel staff. The bedroom and bed were very big. This is the best 3* hotel I have ever stayed in and so much better to catch the frequent ferries into San Marco from Lido than to stay in the overpriced, terrible hotels on the main island of Venice. Highly recommend. One more tip - make sure you book your dinner in Lido if you are going to a restaurant on the week-ends as the locals will book out all the good places otherwise and many of the restaurants won't take walk-ins on Friday and Saturday nights, even if they are not full.
Nice simple hotel
The hotel is nice but simple. You can see that it is somewhat outdated, but everything was clean. The location is perfect, because it is located close to the taxi boats to Venice and on the otherside also close to a nice beach. The staff is very friendly and very helpfull. We had a late departurev on Sunday and we could store our lugage in the hotel and we could even use a bathroom to refresh ourselves before we left to catch our flight.
Pleasant Villa Hotel in Good Location
This was our 1st trip to Venice and we chose to stay on Lido after reading reviews; we weren't disappointed. The staff were all excellent; friendly, helpful and pleasant . The vaporetto stop was an easy, flat walk away and the service was frequent and reliable. We bought a 72 hour pass so we could hop on and off whichever lines we chose over that period. continuing past the hotel was a lovely beach area - very quiet at this time of year. A variety of restaurants and bars were just around the corner from the hotel, generally offering better value for money than those in Venice city. Breakfast was 'do it yourself' with hot water, milk, coffee, juices, eggs and a pan of hot water, cheese ham, cereals, fruit , rolls, bread, toaster, butter , jams. This suited us fine. Our room was comfortable, but a bit 'tired'. We requested extra pillows and these were provided straight away. We had two small balconies which were pleasant to sit on with a drink. There was a mini bar in the room with water, soft drinks and beer. The prices were expensive, but between the vaporetto stop and the hotel was a supermarket 'Conads' so we bought water etc in there and cooled them in our mini bar, leaving the original contents untouched. There is access to wifi in the lobby and on the terrace but, unfortunately, not in the bedrooms. There was a mirror in the bathroom and a full- length one in the entrance to the room, but one over the dressing table would have been useful. We would return, though !
Highly reccomend
We enjoyed our time and stay. Hotel staff very friendly.
Hotel was comfortable, staff helpful and very conveniently situated. It was five minutes from the Water bus and five minutes from the beach. Local restaurants available. Breakfast supplied was what is expected for continental. Would stay again. Had an e-mail from hotel after booking to welcome us and to check times of arrival etc. very helpful.
Alternative to crowded Venice
A relaxed place to stay at the Lido in Venice away from the crowds in Venice proper. Very nice staff. Just down the street from the Lido Beach on one side and the Waterbus port on the other. Very nice and friendly neighborhood
perfect situation on venice lido
Hotel is just a short walk from water buses, ideal for restraunts, and also very close to the Adriatic coast.
VILLA CIPRO STAY AUGUST 2015
Booked a 'family room' for 3 and arrived to find a camp bed in the corner of a pretty small room with an inadequate mattress (too thin for a 12 year old to sleep on) which was a bit disappointing. However, when this was explained we returned from the beach to find a full size mattress had been duly installed. The room was OK overall but really the size is too small for 3 but we managed OK. The room had en-suite which had a very powerful shower and was stocked and cleaned daily as expected (strange flat absorbent towels that worked remarkably well!). The hotel is in a great location off the main street on the Lido (Elisabetta) with very easy access to the beach and ferry (vaparetto and Alilaguna) port within a 5 and 10 minutes saunter and loads of restaurants and shops (inc supermarket) to choose from - Note the restaurants/cafes on the opposite side of the road to the hotel are of much better quality!
Great place
Highly recommend this place. It is close to the square and the staff is excellent. Breakfast was terrific and at night we had wine in the gardens. They were so helpful with my husbands lost luggage.
Great location!
This hotel was in a great location. 30 seconds and you were on the main street that was filled with restaurants and shops. Yet at night, you couldn't hear anything. The staff was very nice, very nice breakfast.
First visit to Lido
Stay was great. Excellent staff!
Good value for money.
Aged but pleasant. No time for staying in the hotel and bed comfy enough. Just a short walk from the waterbus station. Great alternative for budget stay. Clean, yummy breaky, friendly service. Stayed with 1 and 11 years old.
Great hotel 5mins from the beach
Great hotel breakfast was good and the staff very friendly,The hotel was 5mins from the beach and restaurants and 10 mins from the water bus.I would stay there again
Worth for money spent..
I stayed at Villa Cipro for 3 days. Pros 1) Easy to access 2) very calm and silent place 3) Good complimentary breakfast 4) 5 mins walk to boat station 5) Lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and a supermarket nearby. 6) 2 mins walk to beach. 7) Good service and helpful receptionists. Cons 1) Just an average room, not very stylish and jazzy. 2) Wifi was not free and they charged 10 Euros which I never faced in any of the hotels I stayed at Europe.
Quiet location away from the hordes of tourists vi
I enjoy my stay. Quiet location away from the hordes of tourists visiting Venice.
Nice hotel, but.....
The hotel was nice, as well as the Lido island, however I booked this hotel due to being able to drive to the hotel since most Venice hotels are not vehicle friendly. No where on the description does it say you have to take your car on a ferry to reach the island. It was my fault for not looking at the map and just assuming there was a bridge... Lesson learned!
Nice location. Friendly staff.
Nice location about a 20 min boat ride to st marks square. Friendly staff. Had some ants in the bathroom and the towels were like table cloths. The island is nice a bit less hectic than Venice.
ideal location
spent ten days in September at this hotel the water bus and beach are a short walk away, the staff were friendly and helpful and its in a nice area, plenty of places to eat nearby we enjoyed our stay there
Great Hotel....
Does exactly what it says on the tin!!
Ideal base for visiting Venice on a budget
I spent a very happy week visiting the Venice Biennale at the beginning of November. The Villa Cipro made an ideal base for us to enjoy all that Venice has to offer without the expense and crowding of staying in the historic centre of the city. It gave us a pleasant 'retreat' after the route-marches of each day.
Wonderful city break
This was perfect for what we wanted. Conveniently located near vaporetto and local restaurants, which were reasonably priced. Absolutely delighted with this offer.
Good location but that's about it
A good job we decided to squeeze our own towels in at the last minute since what we found in the bathroom fitted the description of crisp, white tablecloths - hmm! We are seasoned travellers and this was a first. As a child I remember some green & gold shiny diamond-design curtains. Now jaded and dated, this was exactly what appeared as the bedcovers! With matching curtains (almost), the room looked shabby. If they had replaced these (which we spotted in other rooms too) with thin white quilts and brighter curtains, it would have looked so much cleaner although I can't say it wasn't clean, it just looked shabby. We had booked a triple room - 3 singles so there is clearly some miss-selling going on here with the third 'bed' being a pull-out single sofa-bed and not, -- most definitely not - a bed in its own right. We were told that was all they had. The only reason we chose this over the Grande Albergo Ausonia at similar price was the advertising of three beds! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. We arrived late and had to go out down the street to find a drink - no tea/coffee-making in the room and only a bar which appeared to be closed anyway. Breakfast was continental serve-yourself and was ok - a boiled egg steamer & toaster available but only thin-sliced white bread (& rolls) and cake - no brown. Overall, staff were pleasant and accommodating but provision was basic.
Needs an update
We stayed at Hotel Villa Cipro for 3 nights. The staff was less than friendly and never greeted us when we came through the lobby. Our room was on the first floor, off the patio, and got very noisy at night. People would drink on it every night and I'm not sure if they were friends of the owner or guests at the hotel. Our room had very streaky walls that hadn't been cleaned or painted in years. The double bed was 2 twin beds pushed together. The room looked like it was from 1960 with original everything. The breakfast at the hotel was good and had lots of options compared to other European hotels I've stayed at. Don't pay more than 70 euros s night for this place!
Just about alright
The Hotel is well located and has a beach at walking distance. Unfortunately, the rooms are rather small plus the air-conditioning was just barely working, if at all. On complaining about it, we were told there is nothing that they could do. Also, while some of the staff was helpful, for the most they either could not speak English at all, or were not inclined to assist guests. On the whole, the service could have been a lot better.
Great location!
We stayed here for three nights in April 2013. The location of the hotel is great; a five minute walk to the water bus (where you will be in St Mark's square in ten minutes) and a five minute walk from the beach. There are lots of restaurants closeby. Our room was adequate - nothing amazing but clean and comfortable and a good base to explore Venice from.
Good option to stay in Venice
Great location, just 5-7 minutes walk from the water bus and quite close to the sea and public beach (although we traveled in March and the distance to the beach was not important for us) Clean, quiet, warm room. However, we booked a triple room, it was really small with a very small bathroom.
Best in spring or fall
Stayed at this hotel many times. Very good for the money spent. Venice is just 15 minutes ride on Vaporeto water bus and Lido is a very quite comfortable place to enjoy vacation ans the sea.
Weekend in Venice
Hotel was easily accessible from the lido water bus station- around a five minute walk and had everything you could wish for. Room was clean, staff were knowledgable and polite and for the price we paid we couldnt have asked for a better experience. Brilliant to come back to the quieter surroundings of the lido after a busy day exploring the sites of venice,
Very good value for money!
The room was nice, clean but a little dusty, no problems with the room at all and clean towels every day! Situated conveniently next to all shops, restaurants and seafront and water taxis. Staff were always very friendly and breakfast was ok as well. Literally only one issue we had was that the old man who worked the front desk, did not know how to process card payments on check out! This almost made us miss our water taxi to the airport because he also couldn't understand English (and became grumpy when I spoke to him in Italian - after explaining the rush we were in, he actually asked me to RUN to the cashpoint! - hilarious!) word of advice - checkout early! Apart from this, everything was really good at this hotel and I would stay again!
They had my €10 for WiFi but didn't work.
We loved our stay at Hotel Villa Cipro
Stayed for a weekend with my girlfriend in the off season, mid-October. Staff were very nice. Beds were very comfortable. Contrary to the negative reviews about the thin towels, we found them to be very absorbent and dried quickly and therefore satisfied us both greatly. (not sure what else you want from a towel). Breakfast was sufficient but we found it difficult to arrive within the strict time frame. Twice we arrived back to the hotel at around 5-6am and we were warmly welcomed by the porter. Its a great location on Lido. Water bus-ride away from Venice. Buses run all the time. Nice to get onto terra firma and away from the hustle and bustle of Venice for the evenings and enjoy breakfast/ lunch in the afternoons. Great beach only a walk away too.
Poor
My room was the smallest I have ever encountered. The bed filled the room and there were no chairs - it would not have been possible to have any in such a small space. The minibar fridge did not seem to work when I arrived. After two requests for the staff to check it nothing happened and I gave up on it. The breakfast was poor quality e.g. the same batch of fermenting kiwi fruit continued to appear each day. The hotel had an overall air of having had better days I estimate that I paid more that twice the price that I paid for much larger rooms with better facilities in comparable destinations at the height of the summer tourist season this year (I stayed in the Cipro during early October 2012).
Quaint but hot (temperature)
Very cute and quaint but off the beaten track - which unless you are planning on staying for a couple of days is a bit of a pain to get to via water bus. They have the smallest elevator I have ever seen. We were placed on the top floor which was hot - no air conditioning. There are no screens on the windows and the mosquitos were bad. Buffet breakfast was really nice with a lovely selection of foods
Good price, quiet & good breakfast.
Hotel was perfect for 2 budget concious travellers, the price for 3 works out to be that comparable to a hostel. Great breakfast, the first place so far that has eggs on the menu. Located on Lido Island, the food is a lot more reasonably priced and less hustle & bustle of tourists. It is close to the water vaporetta station, and the food strip at night. The best gelati store "magnific voglie??". It's on the main street and has the best gelati we have tasted so far.
Lido is nice
If you are looking for a quite place to stay and still want to be near to the center, then Lido is the place to stay. And this hotel is a grelt choice. 200 m from the boats, nice atmosphere, good quality.
comfortable rooms- poor breakfast
Hotel room was clean and comfortable and what we would expect of a three star hotel position was good on lido. We found breakfast very disappointing tea and coffe was always lukewarm, fruit choice poor with fruit that looked as been hanging around for days.Croissants and rolls were ok and two choices of cereal-we felt that all could have been improved with little effort on breakfast front
tiny room
room size is unbelieveable small!!!!!! you can never imagine a room can be that small. no room for any luggage case!!!! but good breakfast.
Villa Cipro near the beach
Its location close to the main beach area is great, 10min walking to the vaporetti station also. The room in the 2nd floor was nice but small going on to two balconies with nice views. An air condition kind of noice of a house opposit, was a bit of a throw back at night, if you like the windows open. Some traffic was to be heard. The breakfast area could be open to the garden, but was not. Breakfast considering overall italian breakfast was good, only the fruit juice was no recommandation. The personel could be more friendly. But it is a nice well kept place that you feel they renovated some years ago with some good quality room doors.
60th Birthday Break
We stayed at the Villa Cipro for the first time, and we were very happy from the moment we saw the beautiful hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room (205) was great with a small balcony overlooking the garden, and the breakfast service was also very good. The location is great, just off the main street so none of the noise but all the convenience of local shops and restaurants. Just a 5 minute walk in one direction to the water bus stops and 5 minutes in the other direction to the Lido beach. This was our fourth time in Venice, second time on the Lido so we have experience of other hotels and I have to say that Villa Cipro is the best for overall value, service and location. We'll be staying there again on our next visit. Ed & Celia from England
Could do better considering price
Staff were extremely pleasant, helpful & polite. Room was clean but small for a double but comfortable bed although hard pillows. Not enough drawers or cupboard space but wardrobe sufficed. Main doors to rooms have a 'slam shut' mechanism which causes a loud bang going in and out unless guided slowly by hand. An idea to let all guests know. Problem with the drain plug in the wash basin was reported on day 1 but never got fixed by day 6. Breakfast food was on the whole fresh but fruit was in a sad and tired condition. Reported particular drink in mini bar list was not present. Didn't get put in the bar by day 6. Asked about air-conditioning not working and was told it was. No it wasn't. I noticed fuses that appeared to marked CLIMO for such in fuseboard on landing were switched off. Re-circulating air duct switch did not actually operate and never heard unit in ceiling work. We asked and were told it's automatically controlled from the top one...whatever that meant! Very noisy some mornings as recycling bins were opposite main gate.
We specifically called hotel.com to make sure that we would get the room with french doors to the balcony. When we arrived the guy just shrugged his shoulders like I'm sorry; it's too bad you don't get that room! The room we did get smelled funky and was just for sleeping purposes - very average experience for our honeymoon.
Realy enjoyed stay
We had stayed at this hotel some years ago, so new what to expect we were not disappointed. Hotel was clean and generally comfortable, however the bed was a little hard. Breakfast was typical continental. Location is excellent being only 250m from Lido ferry port, with numerous restraunts on the way.
unbeatable price for the location
Small rooms but nice , as well as the bathrooms . Great location , easy to find . Tons of places to eat in walking distance and only a 2 minute walk to the beach . They where friendly and helpful. Included continental breakfast and had FREE internet .
Enjoyable stay, nice breakfast
A great location away from, but still close enough to Venice. Lovely main boulevard with many cafes and shops. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the continental breakfast.
This hotel is a little far away from the principal atraction, 30 min by boat, but for one night is ok.
Lido Boutique Hotel
We opted to stay on Lido island due to the expense and crowds of Venice. We found it comfortable and convenient as it is easy to get to Venice using the water buses. The Water buses are a bit expensive though. It would be nice if the hotel could offer discounts and advice as to how to tour Venice. Room was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom with the exception of a very small shower. Breakfast offered proscuito, cheese, poached eggs, fruit and "excellent" coffee.
Increíble lugar. Súper bien ubicado. Volvería a ir.
We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Cipro. We stayed for 3 nights. What stands out is the location of this cute little hotel. It is within really short walking distance from the boat station and the main beaches. The staff was nice and accommodating. The service is a little spare, but we did not miss anything in particular. It is just really simpel and easy going.
alles is prima
Friendly service with great location
The staff was amazing, the location was great and overall experience was great. Old style house very central. Some rooms have balcony access so that's something to look for on booking. It's a classic hotel with classic rooms. Clean rooms and staff is very helpful.
Fantastico!!
Super agusto
Bastante buen , muy contentos
Authentisch, zentrale ruhige Lage.
Trevligt hotell i äldre stil nära stranden
Varje dag!!
Nochmals danke an alle freundlichen Mitarbeiter! Weiter so!
Ligging hotel top.

Perfect balance of everything we wanted
A quiet retreat close to the best beaches, dining, cafes, transportation to the Venice. Staff/ owners were wonderful to talk with and they were so happy to fill us in on what was happening in town and in the city. Wonderful place for a long weekend.
