Great hotel! Super close to the metro station, bars, Nishiki market and other cool spots. Great restaurant too!

Simple and decent hotel with not much frills. No amenities are provided in the room. It needs to be collected from lobby but nothing much there too very basic items. Room and corridor has a strong musty smell due to poor air circulation. I had to switch on the air purifier. AC is centrally controlled and so whatever you do in the room doesn’t get cold quickly in the August heat. Early mornings the rooms gets cold due to the temp setting control in the room. Room size was adequate for one person with not much luggage. Water is not provided in the room if you book online. I assume most of the people will be booking online only. The lift takes a long time to come and doesn’t indicate which one will come out of the two and the lift arrow light, on 5th floor doesn’t light up to indicate if you pressed it or not. Since I was traveling alone all these didn’t bother much but for 10k per night during obon holidays it was quite ok, nearest station is 7-10min walk. There are no bus stops nearby.. the 204 and 205 are 15 min walk away. Kawaramachi is at walkable distance and so is Nijo castle. For any hotel dining there is Matsuya within the hotel premises which is the very convenient. 7-11 and Lawson stores are nearby. Hotel Location is good as it’s in a residential ally so quiet peaceful too. No parking available at hotel so if you rent a car you need to park in paid parking.

really enjoyed my stay here! the location is so convenient, its just a straight walk to the shopping district and train station. breakfast is good - but there's 7/11s and family marts close by for food options. staff were exceptionally friendly and amenities were lovely. room was quite spacey for japan as well. i would stay here again

This is a comfortable hotel and reasonably close enough to connecting transport. Apart from being inexplicably given a room at the furthest point away from the lift the room was otherwise good. They have free breakfast but if it wasn’t free you probably wouldn’t have eaten it 😂. Much better options available locally for dinner as well. Close to the market which has virtually everything.

We could no see through the window. The double rooms do not have transparent windows. That was the reason we left after only one night (we had 4 nights booked). Besides that, the staff was really friendly and the hotel was clean.

10階は女性専用ラウンジもありリラックスできてとてもよかった。お部屋も1人にしては充分なサイズでベッドもよかった。女性専用ラウンジ内に洗濯機もあり便利だった。朝食は隣接している松屋食堂で選択肢は多くはないけどボリュームもあり満足できた。2泊したが値段も大変リーズナブルでまたぜひ利用したいと思います。

Very clean and cozy, and the hotel staffs are all polite and kind. The location is convenient from subway, and many tourist spots. The breakfast was amazing for that price.

Hotel Unizo was located in the perfect spot. Several places were easily walkable (nishiki market, nijo castle, gion area, pontocho alley, etc.) And the metro and buses were easily accesible to get to other further areas without any difficulty! We would absolutely return to Hotel Unizo the next time we come to Kyoto and would recommend it to family and friends.

Stayed here for two nights. Really great location and easy to get to from public transport. Did a lot of walking from here and found it very easy to get around. The room was small but had everything I needed. I could just about open my cabin bag sized suitcase out flat. Air con was super quiet which was great! Bed was a little hard for my liking but otherwise I enjoyed my stay a lot. Staff were very friendly and spoke some English.

Over all very nice hotel, could add more each and dry machines though, there were only two of them, long wait time.

staff was friendly and nice - could also speak english couple minute walk from Karasuma Station. room was a bit more spacious even for the standard basic room compared to other Japan hotel rooms. amenities were able in the lobby to help yourself - the bath salts were a nice touch. location is close to multiple bike shops if you were looking for any rentals (the hotel doesn't allow bicycle parking FYI)

Super friendly desk staff with excellent English, convenient location, comfortable beds. Nothing fancy but ticked all the boxes. Would recommend!

Affordable and well maintained property in excellent location.

Room was decent size! Had a cute little table and chair to use as a living room area which provided extra space in the room overall. Staff helped us send our luggage to next hotel, very helpful and kind!

Really clean hotel in a stone throw away from Shijo shopping street. Very friendly staff and spacious room by the Japanese standard. It would have been nicer if there were a bit more variety in breakfast menu.

I stayed on the women's floor. It had a cozy lounge to have tea or coffee and magazines and blankets. There was a security door between the elevator and access to the rooms. Very safe and comfortable.

Overall experience was excellent

Overall experienced I had at this hotel was excellent. Room were clean and the bed was firm. Like all rooms in Japan, they were small which was to be expected. The only real complain I had was the laundry services. Even after two dry cycles, my clothes were still damp. No amount of dry cycles would’ve made my clothes to properly dry.

Excellent hotel that has everything

The hotel front desk is always fully staffed and greet everyone. Check-in was incredibly because it’s always sufficiently staffed. Across the desk there are an assortment of amenities for yoI to take up to your room. Room itself is very clean and extremely quiet and so nce you have all the amenities you need, there’s nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was nice, and the same restaurant chain serve good dinner

Had a wonderful week-long stay. The hotel had everything you could need, was well located, great wifi, and the staff were lovely. Would absolutely stay here again.

The staff were welcoming and the rooms were quite large by Japanese standards.

Location was very good. Air conditioning didn’t work very well, but that might be because I didn’t set it properly since the controls were in Japanese. The safe also was not working. Still the room was nice and clean.

The staff is kind and attentive. They truly do their best to provide guests with great service. All staff, including the cleaning staff who make up your room every day, make sure to put attentions to the small details.

Best of the 3 Japanese hotels I've stayed in so far on my first trip. Friendly reception, kept my bag as I arrived a couple of hours before check-in, which is always nice but not a given. Provided iron and desktop board no fuss when requested next day. Got a room on the 9th floor (out of 10 I think) but no view to speak of as semi-opaque surface applied to windows (better than the complete blackout one applied in the previous hotel). Room fine, aircon and mini fridge as usual. Bathroom was great - bigger than the others with higher quality fittings. Shower was powerful. I had a single room but bed was 3/4 double which seems to be standard here for singles. Safe in the room also, which was a first on this trip. TV was fairly big, although at 90deg to the left of the bed so I had angle myself to watch it, but as usual just Japanese TV channels Location is good, a few mins walk from metro and about 30mins from the railway station. Plenty of amenities, restaurants and bars etc nearby... Definitely would consider staying here again next time I'm in Kyoto There's an attached fast food place that did a great breakfast for £2.50 ish

Friendly and approachable staffs from the day we check in till check out They also extended help on our luggage courier to Tokyo. It was helpful as they assisted to fill up the form for me Near by to subway station and there's a nice cafe inside there if you need to grab some munchies/bread

I highly recommend this hotel especially for solo female travelers! The woman's floor was amazing with the additional amenities and it is in a cute neighborhood near Nishiki Market with lots of great restaurants and shops! 10 minute walk from Ippodo Tea where you can enjoy traditional matcha. I feel sad that I can’t stay longer ! I have really enjoyed my stay and I will book this hotel again the next time I visit Kyoto. Thank you for such a nice stay!

Very clean, nice smell all around , I was on women only floor and had its own lounge with a nice free coffee machine and a water tank and a washing machine . Personnel was very polite and friendly

There were a lot of amenities - it felt like I did not even need to bring anything. The room was perfect for a short stay and a great place to crash after a day of walking around. Pretty central and nice area. Close to stations and bus stops. Staff were very kind and helpful. I enjoyed my stay.

It would have been to nicer to have basic cosmetic amenities for ladies. But in overall, clean and new facilities, with very good wifi connection. Perfect for a business stay.

3連泊でしたが窓から外が見れない閉塞感を感じました。 京都はやはり外が見れる部屋が良いですね。 又、部屋へ行くのにエレベーターを降りてから約1周しないと行けないのは不便、考えるべきでは？

스탭분들이 친절하고, 객실 등 모든 컨디션이 깨끗하고 깔끔했습니다. 특히 여성전용층이 있고, 카드키로 출입이 가능한 점, 라운지에서 간단한 음료와 맛사지체어를 즐길 수 있는 점, 별도 코인세탁기가 존재하는 점이 좋았습니다. 침대가 넓고 좋았습니다.

因為連續住宿，所以把使用過的浴袍及毛巾放置在房門口，但沒有補給乾淨的浴袍與毛巾，不曉得是不是因為連續住宿所以沒有

原以為房間會偏小，但其實不會，床還蠻大的，行李箱也可以完全攤開。房間有對外窗，可直接開啟，保持室內通風，下次還會想來住，真的太舒適了
