Meh. Room and decor are cute, but room is dark, stained carpet, dusty. Couldn't get a second pillow on my first night. I'd try another hotel if I ever return to Kyoto.

Great spot for exploring Kyoto. Short walk to the Gion District, plenty of trains and busses stopping outside so a perfect base. Free teas and coffees in the lobbies and small pastries at breakfast. Check in easy and staff relatively friendly. Room was lovely - everything we needed and nice and clean.

The hotel is super convenient and it’s perfect if you’re looking for a place to just sleep after a long day exploring Kyoto! It’s basically a bed and a shower and the daily amenities are collected every day from the lobby area. There’s free drinks and a baked good for free every morning. And there’s a 7 eleven connected to the hotel which is GREAT for late night snacks or breakfast. It also offers luggage forwarding which is super convenient when moving cities. It’s a unique design and very playful and a central location to all our destinations. If you’re looking for a simple place to sleep and get going through out your day, this is the place!

Modernized, and a walk in shower. Cute design and concept as well as a nice lounge area for guests to hang out in. Room was also spacious!

Mattresses were good. The pillows are so uncomfortable. The room ac would warm up and you’d have to turn it off and then on again, ac was really loud too. Tv kept lagging. Enough space for luggage, not much counter space. Connected to a 7/11, laundry on site. Free bite sized croissant or danish for breakfast.

Close to transit. Staff is great. Room was good, only thing was there is no fridge in the room, other than that everything was good. Would stay here again.

New modern hotel with a fun theme. A nice middle ground between attractions. Walking distance Gion district and a walk plus subway ride to things like the bamboo forest. A light free breakfast is provided which is always a plus. 7-11 is below the hotel which is obviously amazing. Would stay again.

Tavinos was just as expected. I had seen videos of people staying at the place. It has everything you need. Being able to have luggage storage and laundry is super convenient. Only negative thing would be that the dryer takes a long time and maybe filters needed to be cleaned. Which there was a sign to ask staff, just didn’t get a chance to. Honestly, I really don't have anything negative to say.

Cute little property, a bit difficult to find reception because you actually have to go into the building and up the elevator. Rooms were relatively clean with the occasional carpet stains; however they are very dim. The common lounge area is nice, convenient and well stocked.

A great base for exploring Kyoto, close to 2 subway stations and around a 20min walk from Pontocho. Rooms were clean and there were plenty of amenities, including free pastries for breakfast

Really loved this hotel! The design, decor, and convenience made our stay in Kyoto pleasant and memorable. Would recommend this to anyone as the room is a perfect size for a couple. I was able to easily fit our 2 large suitcases and bookbags. Would return to this place if I ever go back

Hotel is well located. However, we had issues at the property due to the laundry. There are not enough washing/dryer machines and at night it gets really crowded and it’s very chaotic. Guest arguing to use the laundry service and the management is not trained to deal with these situations. It happened to us all the night that we stayed there. It was very uncomfortable. Plus, I got the impression that the staff tried to deal with the guest as less as possible.

Excellent location to get around the city easily, and very clean and relaxing rooms. The lounge area is nice, and the reception staff were very helpful and ready to assist with any questions. Really like the wall and carpet art, too!

Great location and price!

Mattress was super firm, but that’s pretty much the case for Japanese beds in general. Other than that, we loved our stay! The room was much larger than most hotels in Japan. 7/11 downstairs and the cheap restaurant across the street are both major pluses.

Great location as it's walking distance (12 minutes adult walking) from Nishiki market and 20 minutes walk from Kyoto station. But there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that makes Kyoto station a 8 minutes distance and 3 minutes walk from the train. The staff were super polite and helpful. The rooms are a great touch and experience and there is a lot places where to eat very close.

Great location very cute rooms and loved the staff and common areas

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The only things we would reccomend are a better selection for breakfast, the surrounding can get noisy at times, and the rooms could use better lighting.

The hotel had a cool design style and was connected to a 7/11 which was super helpful. Points off only for being a little far from most attractions or busy areas, and the room style was a little hard to adjust to.

Great hotel and so cute. They dont really offer breakfast aside from some bread but personally i like going out and exploring the city, to find something to eat. Front desk staff was super helpful and kind when i went through a hard time. They have a great area where you can relax and read. Pretty central to a lot of local attractions and walkable from Kyoto Station.

what an amazing hotel rooms where a really nice size for our week long holiday, the breakfast was really nice, loas of teas and coffee to have all day and also supplied us with pajamas as well as wash stuff including tooth paste and tooth brushes! the location was amazing as you are more or less in the center of kyoto and there was a bus stop and train station outside of your hotel. When you arrive you also get to pick your room which was a nice touch so if you didnt like highs you could pick the lower floors. We really cant wait to come back on our next trip would recommend for anyone wanting to go to kyoto

Bathroom was good, and room excellently clean to typical Japanese standards. Ask for extra pillows! Enjoyed Kyoto in general, but needed more taxis as transport in Kyoto is not as easily accessible as Tokyo. Younger travellers under 30 seemed to love the anime vibe.

Excellent accommodation, location a bit remote

This hotel is wonderful. I was amazed of how beautiful this property is. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and nice. Staff welcoming, speak very well English. They allowed storage of luggage while we already check out to explore furthermore of the city. Location was a distance walk from train station and buses. 22 minute walk. Probably will reconsider in future our next stay while it can be a distance from transit and train station.

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly & helpful, hotel had unique design, with the hotel located only 10 minutes by foot from Nishiki market and the main strip, with the train station close by & nice scenic views of the river just round the corner, with a 7/11 just under the hotel. Overall it has so many good aspects that I would highly recommend.

My boyfriend and his sister had asthma issues due to the amount of dust in the rooms. Easily the dirtiest hotel I've ever experienced. We requested a humidifier and the front desk gave us one with mold inside. We asked for extra pillows and the front desk told us there were no extras available.

Room was a bit larger for Japanese standard but no fridge. Shower was amazing! Check in was automated which was neat. 7-11 in the building for ease. Bus stop and train very close. Commons room very neat with kitchen and games and had outdoor patio that was amazing. Breakfast breads were tasty. Decor was cute as well.

Cute tiny room. Fast check in and check out. There is nothing in the room except for bathroom, but they have a big guest room by the lobby with the tv, huge manga collection and a dining room. Plenty of room to eat at with some kitchen stuff.

The connected rooms were perfect for our family, the kids loved the bunk beds and the rooms were very spacious with storage under the beds.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel it’s in a great location walkable to the shopping area of Kyoto and to the station , the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions asked would definitely recommend staying here if you staying for up to a week in Kyoto

Really loved this quirky and fun hotel. Rooms are somewhat small, but the design makes the most of them. Showers are spacious and an experience in themselves. All amenities are provided, except for tissues. The breakfast offered is really a coffee and pastry. Otherwise, a 10/10.

We have a family of 5 so it was difficult to find a place for all of us especially in Japan. The rooms are usually very tight but the connecting room that we had was perfect for us. We had a bathroom for each room. The rooms were very clean but a little dark in terms of lighting. Very cute decor so the kids loved it. Best part was complimentary coffee, tea, hot water in the lounge. The kids loved the free breakfast bread downstairs and connecting 7-11 was their daily breakfast. Staff was very polite and helped with fancy luggage storage unit .

Good location which is central. However sites are a bit of a walk or require transit. Wish it was located in Gion. Distance from subway line which is connected to Kyoto Station is a 10 minute walk.

El hotel muy lindo, no hablaban mucho inglés, pero se esforzaban mucho para entenderte. No tiene tantos servicios como otros hoteles.

Standard rooms are small but got a better room at a small extra charge.

Sehr coole und moderne Einrichtung. Lage ist ganz in Ordnung, man braucht 20 min in die City zu Fuß, mit dem Bus geht es natürlich schneller. Die Einrichtung ist sehr modern und cool, das einzige was gefehlt hat, war das die Raum etwas mehr ausgeleuchtet hätten sein können und ein Kühlschrank/Minibar im Raum wäre schön gewesen.

Excellent hotel

The hotel is just 1.5 km away from Kyoto Station and you can take a bus for 8 mins or just walk. The hotel location is great as it’s near to most of the touristic areas which is just a walking distance away. The rooms are very clean and cozy and give the authentic experience of being in Japan. The price is reasonable and they provide laundry service as well.

Das Hotel hat meinen Wunsch für das Hasenzimmer berücksichtigt und es sah genauso aus wie auf den Bildern! Direkt neben dem Hoteleingang war ein 7 Eleven, die Straße gegenüber ein Restaurant und ein Cosco. Sehr cool waren die automatisierten Kofferfächer für die Lagerung vor Check-In! Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig war, dass es keinen Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer gab. Es gab aber den Hinweis, dass man bei der Rezeption fragen kann um etwas zu kühlen. Haben wir allerdings nicht genutzt.

Literie horrible j'avais l'impression d'être en garde a vu avec ce lit dur et fin et des coussins plus raide que la justice. La chambre était sale beaucoup trop de poussière nous étions venu séjourner 6,7 jours nous avons eu une période de 3 jours sans un coup d'aspirateur. Je regrette de ne pas avoir de fumoir malheureusement obliger de ce cacher dans un coin pour aller fumer sinon 15 min de marche pour le plus proche. Ne laver pas votre linge a l'hôtel mais plus a la laverie pas très loin j'ai voulu un soir me lancer une machine j'ai du passer 4h en tout pour pouvoir accès a une sécheuse car j'ai compris après quelques heures que le sèche linge était trop usée j'ai mis 3h a sécher du linge inadmissible

Barriera linguistica assolutamente alta. Nessuno delle persone dello staff con cui ho parlato per i quattro giorni del mio pernottamente sapeva parlare inglese/o altro. Assenza di qualsivoglia servizio. Avevamo la colazione in hotel: composta da caffè, acqua e due merendine (super piccole) imbustate. I tavoli della sala comune non venivano mai puliti. La moquette dal bianco che forse i primi mesi era, ora di un grigio/giallo molto inquietante, macchie di sporco ovunque. Nei cestini della differenziata ogni cliente gettava quel che voleva, assolutamente nessun controllo. Su 10 piani di hotel, con 20 camere a piano, solo 3 lavatrici e 3 asciugatrici. Praticamente sempre occupate impossibile da utilizzare. Assenza di zona fumatori. Non fornisco il servizio per spedire i bagli. Lati positivi: -puoi usufruire del microonde per scaldare la cena e mangiare nella sala comune (se non schizzinoso) sarebbe carino che fornissero anche dei panni per ripulire i tavoli. -combini sotto l'hotel sempre aperto e che offre il servizio per spedire i bagagli.

Vi var meget begejstrede for Hotel Tavonos. Beliggenheden var fin og hotellet var moderne og virkede nyrenoveret. Rummelige værelser, dog lidt mørke, men en smart stil. De tilbyder morgenmad, men det er kun i form af snacks. Det skal man være forberedt på. Personalet var imødekommende, nærværende, hjælpsomme og søde.

Superbe hôtel et personnel très serviable et toujours près pour nous aider. La chambre était très propre, les lits confortables et la salle de bain impeccable. Je recommande fortement.
