The staff was lovely and helpful. Would recommend.
Very friendly staff and convenient location.
Nice clean hotel with wonderful staff. Location was good but would have preferred something closer to Old Town. Good value for money. Good breakfast if you like continental style. Breakfast was €18 but charged an extra €3 if you wanted something hot to eat besides hard boiled eggs. I would stay here again for sure.
I am beyond satisfied with my stay at this hotel! The staff truly stands out—they are incredibly attentive, kind, and always go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and cared for. The atmosphere is nothing short of magical, offering a perfect blend of romance, tranquility, and peace. The location is unbeatable, making it easy to explore the surrounding area, while still feeling like a serene escape. The breakfast is absolutely spectacular, so complete and delicious, it was the perfect way to start each day. The bed? Pure heaven! So comfortable that I slept better than ever. I have absolutely no complaints—quite the opposite. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. 💖
Classy, well-appointed room within easy waking distance of the Old Town and U station.
Very good place for the price. Quiet hotel.
Great location and vibe!
Great location next to Lehel U-Bahn station. Very nice vibe, cool classic rooms. Convenient lounge area downstairs.
Its near the Tram. I wish they had the following: Safe, coffee maker and fridge. Then it would be perfect. Room is spacious.
Wonderful staff; great breakfast area with variety of items to choose from. Very walkable to many tourist attractions.
Excellent location!
It was a beautiful hotel and centrally located.
The hotel reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The suite was spacious, clean, comfortable and inviting. I liked the classic ambiance, decorations and music, which made me fell in tune with the surroundings. It was a bit pricey but it was according with the quality and being Oktoberfest.
This is a nice quaint hotel within walking distance of Marienplatz, and a lovely 'huge' park that is also within walking distance where you can hike by the rivers...they even have surfers in the heart of Munich there!! Wow! The hotel is reasonably priced and the room was very nice, clean and quiet, breakfast is good, and the front desk staff is very helpful. I will come back.
Great service
Great location in the quiet neighborhood of Lehel.
This is a fabulous area to be in Lehel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking is not available but ask at the desk and they will give you a parking permit to put in your car. This hotel has character and met our needs perfectly. This a upscale quiet area and we will definitely be back!
Small room good location bed was comfortable
The Hotel is in a quiest but very accesible area to the Old Town. The Train station Lehel is directly across the road and it's two stops or a 10-15 minute walk to MarienPlatz. We had to single rooms to the rear overlooking the garden and they were small but very quiet and entirely what we required. The staff are very friendly. All in all a very good experience. Would definately recommend staying here and in this aea.
Hotel was nicely situated but when it’s warm and you need to leave the windows open the street is very noisy due to the tram that runs most of the night and early morning. If you close the window then it is okay to be fair, but as the rooms have no air con that is not always an option. The hotel itself was nice but probably not to my own personal tastes. The lack of a room safe and tea and coffee facilities was an issue for me. Apart from one complimentary bottle of water on check in there replacements are not free and without a fridge in the room it’s not easy to have a nice cold drink unless you go to the bar. The room I had was a nice size though and apart from the minor issues I outlined above it was ok but on my next visit to Munich I may probably consider something more to my more “modern” tastes.
Really lovely old building. Super helpful reception staff. Terrific basement breakfast options (not cooked food but lovely fruits, cereals, cold meats, cheeses etc), about 50 metres away from an underground metro rail station, cafes and bars all round the area. Only a few stops away on the train from the main Munich rail station and centre of town and possibly a 10 min walk to the English Garden which is absolutely sensational (and vast!)
Lovely hotel and great location but cannot recommend the single room I stayed in. The bathroom was dismal. The website photos showing toiletries that are provided must be outdated as that’s not what was in the bathroom. In my room, the curtain liners had brownish stains on them and even the duvet cover had what looked like an old blood spot. There is no safe or fridge.
Unfortunately, this hotel was not what I expected. First, there is no a/c. I should have checked before booking. Second, the conditions were old and dated with very small quarters. I felt like the price was comparable to other hotels that seemed like they would be much nicer. We moved to the Munich City Hilton after staying one night.
Great location! Charming hotel
Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and very comfortable room. This was a great base from which to explore Old Town and the parks on foot.
Is right on tram line. Ask for garden view side. Lost a lot of sleep. Also no air conditioning.
Wonderful quaint hotel in nice neighborhood central to all of Munich. The lobby and room were immaculate and the balcony off the room was an added benefit.
This is an older but overall pretty decent hotel. We were able to check in early at no extra cost. Room was comfortable and in proximity of our area of interest. One caveat is the air conditioning. Hotel is advertised as having ac but there is only a portable cooling unit that didn’t seem very efficient.
Old world elegance a short walk from most everything. More spacious rooms as opposed to the modern European hotel rooms where there is hardly room to open a suitcase. Delightful breakfast—not included, at least for us, but worth the cost.
A hotel with character and a friendly team
We had an excellent stay here! The hotel is very conveniently located (5-8 min walk) to multiple forms of public transportation, but sits on a very quiet street. We opted for a garden-view room and would highly recommend this as it is quiet enough to leave the windows open to get a nice breeze (we went in mid-June) and the room stayed very comfortable. There’s also a small table fan for use. IMPORTANT: there is not A/C, but even staying on the top floor we did not find the room ever got uncomfortable. The courtyard behind the property is nice. We didn’t end up having the breakfast, but it looked good. Will definitely return here our next journey to Munich!
Good overnight hotel in Munich
Very comfortable Hotel in a central but quiet location
I loved this hotel! I was in Munich for the weekend so just a two night stay. The hotel is beautiful and although the single rooms are small they have so much charm! I had a complimentary copy of Romeo and Juliet on my bed upon arrival. I had a little bookshelf and a balcony. Bed and pillows were comfy. Bathroom was a little on the small side but just one person no big deal. Staff was great and they have a little bar downstairs if you need a late night drink and they will charge to your room. Front desk went out of their way to send my laundry out on a Saturday (they normally do Mon-Fri same day service). It was very expensive for the laundry but it was a necessity. All in all great stay and loved the character of this beautiful hotel - would stay again for sure!
Beautiful hotel in a great location downtown Munich
Elegant beautiful hotel in crested from a mansion, is furnished with antiques but with modern bathrooms and exquisite bedding. My stay was completely comfortable and lovely.
Perfect boutique city centre hotel.
This is a small hotel ranged over four floors with a library / bar next to reception. The style is classic: plain painted walls on which hang antique mirrors, lights, prints and oils. This extends to the bedrooms - ours had a French antique desk and carved chairs. The service is understated and friendly. The highlight was the exceptional breakfast in the garden.
Great location in a quiet area within walking distance of main sights. Property is a little tired, bed was not comfortable. Staff was pleasant.
The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was thoughtfully and conveniently arranged. It was also quite beautiful.
Classic European hotel in a great neighborhood away from the busy city center. Great dining options in a cute neighborhood. Close to subway and tram options. Large room with a small bathroom and tiny shower. Did not try the hotel breakfast but it was available for a fee. Was unseasonably warm when we arrived (80F) and the room was quite warm and stuffy. Couldn't get the aircon to work - I suspect it doesn't get turned on until summer? Only way to cool down room was to wait until evening and open the windows. Hopefully the aircon works in the summer.
Fantastic hotel located in a great part of Munich. Close to public transport including a subway station just across the road. The hotel itself is clean with attentive staff and a wonderful decor. Only negative I found was the breakfast is not worth the €18 price point. Would stay here again.
What a lovely, lovely hotel. The location is perfect. Close enough to Old town with shopping and museums, far enough away from the crowds. The neighbourhood has wonderful cafes and restaurants along with a little grocery store and fruit market that also sells very good salads if you want to take a lunch for the day. We did a day trip to Dachau and the underground station is just steps away. Staff are very kind, friendly and super helpful. I love how special this hotel feels along with the beautifully decorated rooms. This was a treat to stay here.
excellent location. walking distance to city centre. Close to the Isar river where one can run or walk along the river banks. Good coffee shops and bakeries close by. Inconvenience..walk up to reception. Difficult if one cannot carry a suitcase because of surgery etc.
A lovely family run boutique hotel, well placed for exploring Munich. Breakfast is a little pricey (18€) for what is offered & we found it inconvenient not having kettles in the rooms, but other than that a highly recommended hotel.
A gem in Munich
Amazing hospitality and wonderful room. Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful setting.
Beautiful property, great location for our itinerary and fantastic staff at front desk and bar
Helpful staff and gorgeous room in a beautiful neighborhood.
This was an incredible find. Very happy with this hotel in a cool spot of Munich. will definitely use again when in town.
Nice boutique hotel. Friendly staff.
This was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed in during our honeymoon but that was because of the time of year- Oktoberfest! We’d stay here again because of the staff, access to transportation, cute neighborhood, breakfast and aesthetic.
Excellent staff, friendly, accommodating. Great breakfast! Furniture a little tired, but comfortable. Great location!!
What a lovely one night stay in a lovely walkable neighbourhood! The staff and service were wonderful. I love the old world charm and elegance.
I left with a smile on my face
I used to live in Munich and know it well, so Lehel was a no-brainier. A largely residential location, a short walk into the centre of town and to galleries and museums, quiet, safe, with a choice of nearby restaurants and bakeries/coffee shops, not to mention good public transport. The Splendid-Dollmann was everything that I wanted: a boutique hotel that was classy but not snooty, with friendly, professional staff, free wifi, a good-sized room that was spotlessly clean, with curtains as well as blinds to block out light, and a very good breakfast buffet in a relaxed atmosphere.
A nice hotel, located in a nice area. The rooms don’t have AC and in summer is too hot. A fan is available and helps a little bit. If you open the window the noise of the tram is loud. Maybe the rooms with a garden view are more convenient than the rooms with street view. Breakfast (not included) is served is a beautiful area.
An excellent hotel of you want to enjoy the city center of Munich away from crowds and near everything. Extremely nice staff. Thoroughly recommended.
Train in front of hotel very noisy 24 hours. Otherwise the hotel was nice. Not close to main attractions.
Handy for a flying trip to Munich!
Great quirky hotel and handy for my business trip. Fabulous room. Friendly and helpful staff.
I love this small German Hotel. I have been staying there for years. It is steps from the Lehel subway station. You can go too and from the airport without a cab in 40 minutes for $7. It is an easy walk to everywhere - a few blocks from the English Garden, MaximillianStrasse, the Isar, the old City - Everything you come to Munich for.
Convenience to Maximilianstrasse, where two Oktoberfest parades passed during our stay. Subway station is just across the street, providing ready access to many locations (including easy in and out of the Oktoberfest area). Well decorated common areas and rooms, friendly staff made you feel welcome and that you had come to a special place.
The location is perfect. Near to the most important places to visit. Very beautiful hotel.
Lovely staff, great neighborhood, Old World charm, and early check-in after arriving on overnight flight. I’d stay here again anytime.
charming, old world sophistication and helpful staff.
Excellent location. Everybody was heelpful and kind. Thanks,
beautiful boutique hotel
Great location and quaint accommodations
I will be back.
Lovely old fashioned small hotel in a great neighborhood only a short walk to the Englischer garden. Breakfast was a great combo of fruits and yogurt and cheeses, fresh breads, and very good coffee. Pretty seating area and sweet little garden area. Service was kind and efficient.
Good stay
Lovely hotel. Needs a little work to bring into the super modern world but good Wi-Fi etc and a pleasant stay. Great location and super friendly staff
The entire staff was very friendly and were very accommodating.
Wonderful location, super clean, and excellent service! Such charming, elegant decor I would most certainly stay here again.
Charming!
Beautiful and charming! Amazing hotel with amazing staff!
The hotel is tastefully appointed and is in good quiet neighborhood. The staff is very helpful and is always there for you. Very honest - they actually give you a discount if you choose not to have your room cleaned everyday!
Great location, attractive room, tiny bathroom
Centrally located hotel with walking distance of the Marienplatz. Room was immaculately clean and tastefully furnished with antiques and paintings. Very comfortable bed. First 'Deluxe' bedroom was on the small side with a very small bathroom (shower only, not shower/bath combination as booked). After some discussion, the hotel eventually agreed to move us to a (very nice) room with a bath. Some problems at checkout with miss-charged items on both our, and our friend's, invoices - these were quickly sorted out.
A quiet location but not too far from anything. U Bahn on the corner so very convenient for getting around. Restaurants close by. Staff were very helpful. Would stay again.
Excellent quiet location, beautiful lounge and comfortable bedroom. Couldn’t ask for more.
I loved the interior decoration. Lots of interesting well-framed antique prints with a particularly large and dramatic one in the breakfast room. Fresh blackberries, raspberries and strawberries were delicious at breakfast but there was no scrambled or boiled eggs
Excellent hotel. Very clean, firm mattress, good shower pressure and temperature (just a little small- but that is what you get in an old European hotel) and a very nice staff. Close the U-Bahn station and only a 15 minute walk from Marienplatz and many other sites.
Exceeded expectations.
Very nice hotel, better than expected. Easy to park on the road and pay the meter.
The Splendid Dollman was a very nice boutique hotel. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the room was spacious and beautiful. Would recommend.
Mr
Really friendly , good location
Amazing place
Good location and great service
Perfect place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful ambience. Great location
Perfect location, friendly and efficient service. Delicious breakfast!
I like the building and the staff treatment of me as a guest.
Excellent location and traditional hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The Suite was amazing!!
Great hotel. Clean and beautiful. Bathroom was a little small. Parking was very difficult to find, but not unexpected being in city Center.
Old historical hotel close to downtown, clean and no complaints
Exepensive but ordinary hotel near to center
Overpriced room (due to exhibitions) lacking separate shower and airco. standard breakfast. noisy on streetside due to streetcars; quiet but no view on garden side. decent bed though.
This hotel was incredible! We had the best room and it was so close to everything we wanted to do.
Great hotel, mediocre service
I loved the hotel itself. Very reminiscent of a Classic German hotel. The first staff member we encountered was a bit brusque, but everyone else at the hotel was very friendly. The WiFi was atrocious. You just could not login and that first staff member was dismissive when I asked about. We had fans in our room when we arrived. They were removed without explanation and when we asked about them, we were told it was the last day of summer so the fans had been stored away. It was still quite warm that day so we asked to get them back. We were told that they were stored offsite. In the hotel’s defense, we did learn there were smaller portable fans in the closet and it did cool off considerably the next day, so we didn’t really suffer.
Nice clean hotel Central location Good value for money
Super hotel in a quiet location near the U metro
Had a lovely welcome on arrival at 11am and was very lucky my room was avalialle. I had a small single room on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard. It had a comfortable bed, side table, desk and chair to write notes and a separate chair. The bathroom was off the corridor into the room with an excellent shower, toilet and small corner sink with soft fluffy towels. Toiletries were hair/shower gel, shower cap, cotton buds and facial pads, shoe shine brush and sewing kit. The rubber duck is a sweet gift to customers as well as the book (in German unfortunately) of poetry ((I think!). A complimentary bottle of sparkling water was provided each day. Oh and the electric oscillating fan, a must as there is no a/c in the building! Perfect for a three day stay. The staff on reception were very knowledgeable, made travel recommendations and couldn't do enough to assist with a smile on their face. Breakfast was a delight with cereals, fruits (apricots, blackberries, diced pineapple and melon, blueberries) muesli, yoghurt nuts and seeds, hams and cheeses, cucumber, tomatoes, smoked salmon, a wide variety of bread rolls, croissants (with apricot, fruit and chocolate fillings) small cakes chocolate and apple pastry bites. They also had boiled eggs in warming containers, orange, apple, grapefruit and tomato juice. The coffee/tea are served by the staff to tables indoors in the lower ground floor or outside in the cool courtyard area. See the replica of Wagner's dog Ross outside too!
Shall return
Friendly and good atmosphere lobby. However, shower area is too small to move and wash body
Very comfortable. But on a noisy street.
Located in nice quite area of the the city centre the hotel is perfect distance from the busy inner city and near all attractions. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We were with car and had to find a parking spot on the streets near by which was easy and costed 6 euro for whole day. There are Multi storey car parks near by in case you dont find parking on the street.
Great location and very comfortable
The hotel in in a great location, only steps from the Lehel subway station which is only a few stops from the main station in Munich. Its easy to walk to the Marienplatz area but is sufficiently far away so that it feels nice and peaceful in the evening. The hotel itself is very nicely appointed and feels well built and we did not hear too much noise from other guests. The staff were really very nice and spoke english too which helped us. We had an excellent bathroom and really the only negative thing i can say is that even with the heating in the room turned off it was too hot snd we had to sleep with the window open, even though it was practically snowing outside, i also think this is partly as a result of the bed having some kind of plastic sheet on the mattress which felt like it was reflecting my body heat back at me, never experienced it before...
Perfect location. Attentive staff. Impeccable home away from home feel. Beautiful and very clean.
Elegant hotel in quiet area
Beautiful hotel, elegantly decorated, in a quiet location but also close to public transport and walkable to city center.

Wonderful staff and breakfast
The staff absolutely made my stay wonderful; so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was a traditional European breakfast in an elegant, Old World setting. The bed was comfortable and clean with the best selection of different types of pillows in the room that I have seen.
