Beautiful hotel centrally located in Zurich
Lovely hotel close to the Xmas market. Got a free upgrade to a family suite with a balcony.
Fantastic location and small economy room. No ac.
Staff were very helpful and room was extremely clean and quiet
Hotel management went above and beyond to accommodate. Very pleased we stayed here overall and the location is really lovely. The balcony units are great if you can get one of those. Would stay again in the future.
This is a wonderful quiet neighborhood to stay in Zurich. Yet, it's conveniently located for access to trams and trains.
Location and property is good. But the check out process was bit annoying. Asked to print a receipt and it took 15 minutes, almost missed my train.
Rooms are a nice size, clean, and provide good amenities. I would recommend this place to family and friends.
Overall, property was nice. There are limited shopping options around the hotel. The property is located one block from the river, which made for some beautiful views. Check-in was a rather less than enjoyable experience. Perhaps it’s a difference in culture, but in hospitality, you are supposed to feel welcomed - I didn’t feel that checking in to this hotel. The breakfast was very delicious. The room was very clean, albeit on the small side.
Convenient, close to river and opera house. Very friendly staff and helped us get an early taxi. Very clean and comfortable stay.
Good
Very helpful staffs and very comfortable bed. Wish every room would’ve an air conditioning. We were not alert of no ac in our reserved room but the manager was very helpful and changed our room. Thank you so much for your effort. Great stay! I would stay there again.
Nice hotel, great location
Under renovation. It should be better once their work is finished.. Some issues with their record keeping.
Nice clean room - better than I expected
Great stay
great location, really well appointed. Could do with proper coffee machine in the room as it's the only thing it's missing.
Good value, close to all things Zurich
Nice hotel close to the opera house, the lake. Good value
Very friendly staff! Great location!
Below average at best !
Horrible experience ! Average property that shuts down in evening and check in managed by neighbouring hotel. Room has no AC and poor ventilation .. no staff in eve If you need an additional tower or iron. For first time ever, I left hotel and checked in to another hotel. Total waste of money.
Check in staff were very friendly. There was no breakfast at the hotel due to COVID - it was at a neighbouring hotel instead. The room size is fine, but the rest of the hotel areas are very small, so certainly not a place to 'hang out'. But the location is great and price is very good for central Zürich.
Great little modern boutique hotel with a fabulous location, very helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and great food at the Japanese restaurant just downstairs. Just know the rooms are small but very functional.
Great location, beautiful room, friendly and helpful staff
Pretty OK
The hotel was a great affordable option. The bed was 2 twins put together that kept separating. The bathroom was very tiny, but nice. The street was a little noisy on the 2nd floor, but you are in a city so.... it’s a great hotel for one or 2 nights stay but not really for a comfortable romantic weekend.
Checkin was easy and the room was quite large and tastefully decorated.
A great hotel in a super location. Rooms are not huge but are very well designed with excellent amenities. Thoroughly recommended.
Convenient and reliable location, short walk from Stadelhofen station, so easy to access by connections to train station and airport. Also close walking distance to the city center and to the lake. Rooms on the small size, but well-maintained.
Love the decor and personalized service. Fabulous unique touches in the rooms. Beds very comfortable.
Great Hotel
Great !
EVEN without AC for AMERICAN visitors: was really happy with the service and the hotel.....I recommend it for the Fall or Winter months.....IT WAS HOT during my stay. BUT I loved the hotel and the location.
The hotel is value for money. Good service and helpful. The ramen shop in the hotel is amazing.
We had the room 404. Clean and cosy.. Staff was very helpful
Nice small hotel in the old quarter. Very friendly and helpful staff . Close to the Opera, small boutique shopping and some fabulous restaurants. Three minute walk to Stadelhofen train station, one stop away from main Zurich station.
The staff was beyond helpful with everything. Very pleasant. Rooms clean. Great location.
Swiss clockwork
Typical Swiss efficiency. Not the easiest place to find, but a good location.
Love that Seehof
I love the Hotel Seehof....great location, great service, very nice breakfast buffet, fine rooms with exceptional showers....really enjoyed my stay!
A good experience
Nice location a short walk from the lake. Easy walk to the city center and the tourist sites.
Great position. Near the lake and Opera House
Easy walk to restaurants and shops. Very clean.Bit pricey, but think Zurich is in general. Thoroughlyy enjoyed ur stay
The room was lovely and immaculate. Staff was extremely helpful. We arrived at a very warm time in Europe...even Switzerland! Most Swiss hotels in Zurich are not air conditioned. We requested an additional fan in the room to help with keeping it cool. Our request was filled immediately. We opened the windows and slept like babies! They have a wonderful breakfast overseen by a lovely woman who keeps everything fresh and serves coffee and cappuccinos.
Great staff and location but no AC
Great hotel in a central location. Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Since we were leaving early for a flight, they exchanged breakfast for a free parking space. Would have given this hotel 5 stars, but they have no air conditioning which left us anxious to leave the hotel at 6 am.
Cute little hotel close to the lake and old town. Welcoming and helpful staff. Beautiful breakfast and natural personal products were much appreciated.
Pleasant stay.
Spent 4 nights at the Seehof. The staff were very nice and the location was great. It was a 30 minute walk from the train station but very close to the shops in Old town.
Nice Zurich Option
Nice boutique style hotel with a sailing decor in good spot in Zurich near the Opera House and just a short block from Lake Zurich waterfront and 10 minute walk from Old Town (Alstadt). Friendly staff at check-in. Friendly service at continental breakfast with decent selection of food. We were a family of four, layout of room was good with sufficient amount of space. Free wifi with individual access codes for each family member's device. They offered reduced overnight parking rate at the Opera garage nearby, which was convenient, but still roughly $40 USD per night as Zurich is an expensive city to visit. The one con was no air conditioning, so during the two warm summer nights we had the windows open for hopes of a breeze.
Very friendly & helpful staff which made the stay even more pleasurable. Thanks for looking after us.
Perfect location!
Hotel Seehof was amazing! The staff was so friendly and accommodating – even allowing for an early check in AND breakfast after a red eye flight. The location is great and so close to public transit to whisk you off on a day trip to the alps or back to the airport (less than 5 minute walk to the station). Highly recommend!
No AC = a terrible sleep.
I was really excited to stay here, I particularly like staying at smaller privately owned hotels, and this one on first impressions was great. Everything was fantastic, the only let down, which for me was huge, is no Air Conditioning, and a lot of noise outside the room. Even with the windows open, the room was far too hot for a comfortable sleep. I would love to stay here again, if they had AC! The room must have been about 25degrees Celsius all night.
Zurich stopover
The hotel was in a good area close to restaraunts places of interest and the shopping precinct. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Favorite kind of city hotel
Hotel Seehof is exactly what I look for when staying in a city. It’s in a great location - very close to train stations, lots of food options and the river; the room is clean and modern with a full-sized bathroom and shower; and it doesn’t break the bank.
We were so impressed with every detail of this amazing hotel! From the speedy check-in to the immaculate room and attention to every little detail to the delicious breakfast and friendly reception staff, we loved our stay here and hope to be back again.
Great location, and excellent customer service
Very charming and fabulous little boutique hotel. Excellent location, close to bars, restaurants, shops and public transportation. 15 minutes walk to the old town. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean.
Great hotel!
We love this hotel. It's very clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice.
Very nice hotel staff. Superior room is well designed and pleasant. Good quality breakfast. Location is also good, behind Opera House. #4 tram goes to train station. Highly recommend the Superior room.
Pillows too soft, otherwise awesome
Pillows were too soft. But the receptionist went an extra mile to get me a different pillow upon request; which apparently were not many available. So you might want to request upon booking. Awesome breakfast, cleanliness, and location.
Comfort small hotel in great location
Small hotel in great location, very comfortable rooms although a little on the small side, would consider staying again
Great place to stay
Friendly staff Easy parking - but make sure you call ahead Good location Very nice breakfast Good value
Perfect stay
All was great from the warm and friendly reception through to my efficient check-out. My only small comment is that the room I had was really tiny. Not much bigger than the double bed. It wasn't a problem for me because it was only a very short visit and only one person. If it had been 2 of us for a weekend, then it would have been very cramped. I am sure they have larger rooms so I suggest you ask for one if needed.
Opera House adjacent
Extremely friendly and helpful staff made this visit a pleasure. Hotel was incredibly close to Zurich Opera House, which was the main reason for my visit. Also close to all transport. Delicious breakfast and super fast WiFi were also highlights
Great location to town and river
New year celebrations were amazing, beautiful scenery , very clean
Great value! Overall, terrific!!
Fantastic. All around. Hotels with good value are tough to find in Zurich are difficult to find. This is fantastic value. Especially for business.
A great hotel with such nice staff. The breakfast is really good as well.
The BEST hotel experience in all of my Euro trip!
10/10 perfect
Great Location
I stayed for 5 nights there for conference and tour, the location is superb. I got a double room for myself, but it is really VERY small by any US standard! Only one set of towels were provided and even when the room was done, the did not change the glasses provided in the room. Maybe this is European standard? But for $ 230 per night, you are paying mostly for the location. The breakfast was better than two other hotels I stayed at while I was in Switzerland. Stay are helpful and courteous.
Modern and clean. Great location!
Great staff and great location. Room was a little cramped but was clean and had all main ammenaties. Breakfast was spectacular! Great spread and delicious!
Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the service was excellent.
Great hotel
Wonderful staff! This hotel in an ideal location provided great comfort and spacious room!
2 nights in Zurich
Great hotel in a good location, good breakfast. We did struggle on one evening as it was a hot day in Zurich (30c high and 20c low). Although there was a fan supplied it was a very hot sticky night. The rooms could really benefit from AC in the summer.
Comfortable and central value for money
Very good breakfast, room small but clean and quiet. Good value for money (for Zurich). Fan in room but still quite warm in summer
Nice hotel close to the train station.
The amenities here was the best compared to all the other Swiss hotels we stayed during our trip. It was very close to the station and favourite vedetaruan restaurant is around the corner! The room had a cool nautical theme to it and really felt comfortable. The size is not that small as someone else mentioned here. Perfect size.
We are very thankful for the front desk staff's efforts to deal with the airline regarding our delayed luggage. The Hotel Seehof is a 3 star hotel that lacks the architectural appeal you might expect. It is small and intimate with a small Japanese restaurant. The lobby is a hallway, the elevator is small, the rooms are small but efficient. We paid $230 per night here, and later in our trip we spent a few days at a nearby 4 star hotel, the Romantik Hotel Europe, for $265 per night. The Hotel Opera and the Ambassador Hotel are also nearby in this neighborhood next to the Opera House.
comfy for a night stay
reception is helpful and friendly
Well-located and managed hotel close to central areas (and Stadelhofen train station for easy access - 5 minute walk). Room is on the small size, but not unreasonable for the price. Breakfast buffet had many good options.
Good value for money
Good hotel: clean, quiet, small but well organized rooms, good location, breakfast nothing special but sufficient, very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent for a business traveler or a tourist on a modest budget although Zurich is expensive... On the (-) side: no air conditioning which was a pity during the heat wave. However, a good ventilator was very helpful. Located further from Central Station than what was indicated on the site.
Good after refurnished
Always good staff and new room was clean ,nice amenity.
Great location , stylish interior, delicious breakfast and friendly staff, but room size is pretty small. If you re fat or claustrophobic, think of other options.
In the Center of it all...
Perfect location! There was smoking outside my window... This negatively effected my rest. Lovely and simple Breakfast. Rather compact room, bathroom, and shower. Nicely appointed decoration and design.
Great Location,
The hotel itself is on a small side street and while there is no lobby or large entry way the staff at the check in desk were very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, modern and a good size . The lake, shopping and other sites are all within a 2 minute walk.
Great location
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable.
Delightful hotel near Opera
Delightful hotel with very warm welcoming reception Excellent breakfast with good selection Good location for whole of city and particularly the opera
Good hotel. Very friendly staff and good clean room with excellent shower.
Great hotel location...especially for the winter!
The room was nice, the pictures available on their site don't clearly indicate what you're getting so it was slightly smaller than I originally assumed it would be. That said it IS still the entire top level. The balcony is at the back of the building, so not the best view, but still relaxing. The staff were phenomenal, very informative, and as an English speaker, very easy to communicate with. The location was great and convenient to the lake and tram lines. Loved it overall. Only two real complaints, first...the room was hot. There is no apparently air conditioning, and only one desk fan, and one small table fan. We left the windows and balcony door open the majority of the time just to try to cool it off. Second, the bathroom has a glassed over wall next to the toilet, which is a wall mounted unit. I'd assume from flexing slightly it caused cracks in that glass surface. Not too terrible, but it was visible damage and kind of off putting.
Reasonable and good staff
Most of expense hotel in Zurich, Seehof is reasonable and good enough room for two.Room is clean .Shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion.Hair dryer ,ear plug, opener, slipper and Wi-fi is ready. Free for drink in refreg coke ,coke-light ,beer , sparkling and water . Rich breakfast of ham ,bacon ,scramble egg, more than 10 kinds of bread, fruits ,yogurt coffee and juice . Good smile staffs are kind for us. Only entrance key(locked in the night) was hard for me to open. Every time staff helped me. Soft and comfortable bed.
A good value
Breakfast, location and staff friendliness as excellent. The room was a bit run down and could use a minor facelift regarding the shower tile and mattress.
A very nice hotel for a quick Zurich trip
This is a nice and clean Hotel. It is idealfora business trip for oneor two days. It centraly located in Zurich and offers a nice breakfast. Also at lunch and diner, the restaurant turns into a nice Chinese restaurant.
Better choices in the area
I booked this hotel based on the proximity to a business meeting and for the use of the hotel's claimed wifi. I was on the 3rd floor of the hotel and didn't a signal. The bed was also uncomfortable, something that is a must in my travels abroad.
Superb hotel, just a street away from Lake Zurich
Great hotel, a short walk from the lake and the Old Town, perfect for anything in Zurich. Very friendly staff, good room and breakfast, will certainly book this hotel again.
Great location; Nice hotel
This small hotel feels "cozy" and I liked the character of the place. The location is great - a 3-5 minute walk from Bellevue, a train stop and the Opera house. The room was average size, though the bathroom was a large size for a small older European hotel. The amenties in the room were good, including free Wifi, a desk to work at, it was clean, and quiet. I liked the breakfast - good variety, indoor and outdoor seating and included in my room price. I am a frequent business traveller to 10-12 countries in Europe every 2 months over the course of a year. I will stay there again and would recommend it to others who want a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of Zurich.
Fantastic Stay in Great Location
We had a fantastic time at Seehof. The hotel was very central to just about anywhere in the old town. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with fresh croissants, breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurts, and other delicacies. Overall, a great value for the money, esp. in Zurich.
A great stay
Spent four nights here. The staff was absolutely fantastic. They are so wonderful. Would definitely recommend.
Boutique Hotel - Awesome Location
Excellent location just minutes from lake and public transport is everywhere and very easy to use, the staff were fantastic at the quirky boutique hotel. Only 5 floors and we had the junior suite which was the entire 5th floor including a balcony. Breakfast was great and big pots of hot fresh coffee.
simple but expensive hotel near operahouse
I was diappointed because there was only one wall light in the room and no side light so reading in bed was impossible - surely bedside lights are a requirement in even the simplest hotels and this was not cheap although I know Swtzerland is expensive...Also no English speaking channel on the TV - again surely in an international city like Zurich one tv channel in English should be guaranteed...
Near the opera house
The hotel was undergoing refurbishment when I was there which I didn't know about in advance. When I arrived they were sanding the floor in the bar and dining areas and these facilities were not available during my stay. There was also some noise from 8.30 to 5pm. I was sent tot the next door Hotel Opera for breakfast which was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. My room, a single one, was quite small with only a shower, no bath ( which I like to have but didn't check in advance). The day after I left the lift was going to be out of order which would have made getting my bag down from the second floor difficult. I think there should be a warning about this type of activity and think that perhaps they should not accept bookings while carrying out renovations.
comfy beds
Our stay at Hotel Seehop was far better than we had expected. Some of the previous reviews hadn't been that good, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were wonderful and very helpful in getting us organised. The location is fantastic, so easy with the train station so close. Internet access was good in our room and in the common areas. Overall a great stay!
very conveniently located to all must see sights
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. WiFi was free and worked well. Breakfast was lovely with eggs, bacon, croisants etc. You could walk to all sights very close to hotel. Train station 2 blocks away.
Nice hotel close to the trains and old town
We stayed at the Seehof for a few days at the end of November. The rooms were basic--simply a bed and a clean bathroom. Our first room had a tub which was a bit awkward to get into and out of and we were unable to switch languages on the remote to watch some occasional TV at night in English. When we inquired about this at the front desk they arranged for us to switch rooms. The second room had a shower without the tub which we preferred as it was more roomy. We also got a different TV with a remote that you were able to change languages if available. The best part of our stay was the personnel in the hotel. They helped us book our tours, gave directions to the trains, make dinner reservations and made us feel welcome. The breakfast (this was included in our room rate) was fine. Good scrambled eggs and bacon, yogurts, lots of breads, cheeses, meats and excellent coffee. This was very convenient for us. Another perk was the complimentary minibar--nothing fancy but a few drinks and snacks which came in handy. If you want luxury this is not the place but if you want friendly, helpfulful staff and a good location then I would recommend Seehof. The hotel is very convenient to Old Town and the trams and trains. Overall we had a comfortable stay and I would return if we are in Zurich again.
good location
The location of this hotel is very convenient. It is located close to the train station with many restaurants nearby. Lake Zurich is very close to the hotel and the city center is also within easy walking distance. The free breakfast in the morning was very good. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
Quaint, access to everything
Small, but well managed hotel. Very convenient to see Zurich from. Excellent staff and breakfast service. The restaurant was closed while we were there, but the sign said it would reopen. There were also some noise factors from the courtyard, from other hotels, restaurants and construction.
Good location
Good location, within walking distance of most Zurich sites. Very helpful staff. Not many amenities, so it's a great starting place.
Great location, great price, excellent staff
The taxi driver from the airport could not find the hotel, going around the 4 block area many times, so try to get a landmark that it's even closer to- or ask before departing the airport if they know that hotel. The breakfast was awesome. The service great. The room was just fine. The location was perfect for a saturday dinner across from the opera house (Santa Lucia italian wood fired pizza with seating outside was exactly what I wanted) and sunday am run along the lake. Train to airport was 4 minute walk. Will go back to this hotel next year for Zurich overnight.
close to the beach
We had a very short overnight stay at the Hotel Seehof. It is not an easy walk from the Bahnhof, so get a cab. The location is great if you want to spend time walking to old town or along the lake shore. There are plenty of dining options near the hotel. Our room was perfectly fine, but had no air conditioning. The street outside our windows was a bit noisy at night and there was road construction early in the morning. None of that was the hotel's responsibility. Check in was a breeze and the clerk was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice and there is an outdoor seating area that is very pleasing. On check out the clerk called us a cab and was very helpful.
