Great location! Walkable to restaurants and shopping areas.

No need to look elsewhere

A perfect place to rest your feet and mind in Taxco. Ideally located. Quiet and quaint. Only a short, almost flat walk to the cathedral and all the shops and restaurants. Also a view of the valley or the cathedral from the room. Staffs are friendly and attractive. The room and the courtyard are spotlessly clean. No need to look elsewhere if you travel to Taxco.

Scarce hot water.

My friend and I liked the colonial style of the Hotel. I was disappointed to find out there's no restaurant, bar or terrace. The Hotel is in a great location close to a lot of restaurants and stores. Church Santa Prisca is also very close.

Good for families. Easy to walk to the main points.

Todo muy bien. El staff siempre fue súper amable desde el principio. Quizá lo único malo es que el colchón estaba muy duro (claro que eso depende del gusto de cada huésped).

Location. I only stay here when visiting Taxco

Perfectly situated rustic hotel. Not as "elegant" as MonteTaxco hotel, but much, much more conveniently located. Location is the main reason why I stay here. Also, there are some great people that work here!

Clean and central. Central location comes with a price. Live music from adjacent restaurants carries down the slope.

Good location and friendly service. If you have a car, they provide free parking.

Coming home

Once again, arriving for a stay at the Hotel Santa Prisca was like coming home. I am so lucky to have found this hotel decades ago, and it improves over time by maintaining such high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and service. It says a lot, I believe, that so many staff have been there for a long time. The room, simple but with everything a traveler could need, serves well during visits to the charming town, and the beautiful patio, full of gorgeous trees and flowers, is the ideal retreat, one I often think about when not in Taxco. I wouldn’t trade it for any of the newer and pricier places, which I have tried, much to my disappointment. Hotel Santa Prisca will be my home in Taxco for as long as I am fortunate enough to make the trip.

Good base for exploring an interesting little city

A traditional hotel, close to the cathedral and main square in the heart of Taxco. The hotel provides a relatively quiet haven from the bustle of the main city. I really enjoyed visiting Taxco. It took three hours to reach it by a good quality coach from Mexico City. It's worth staying for a couple of nights, as there is plenty to do, exploring the narrow streets with their colonial architecture and using a taxi to visit El Cristo Panoramico statue, where you will experience great views of the city. Taxis are cheap and plentiful in the city and the old VW Beetles are full of character. There's also the opportunity to refresh your self or dine in one of several rooftop restaurants and shop for silver gifts in the numerous shops and arcades. Santa Prisca Hotel is a good base for exploring all the delights of this little city. I received a good welcome and the hosts were very happy to look after my bags on check-out day. Apart from the drawback that you can only use wi-fi in the reception areas, rather than your room, I would certainly recommend using this hotel as your base.

Located in colonial downtown. Colonial style hotel well maintained.

The hotel is very charming and the staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel has its own parking lot which is great in Taxco were strees are narrow and having a car is more of a hustle. I recommend everyone to stay here just a couple of minutes walk from the main square.

Enjoyable place in a great location.

Beautiful historic building, just one block away from the central plaza. Plenty of food and entertainment options around. Clean and well kept. We enjoyed the patio and the rooftop terrace with an amazing view of the city.

A hotel that defines hospitality

I have loved this hotel since finding it about twenty years ago. Yes, it is very basic, but it has everything I could ever want in a hotel and more: clean, simple but charming rooms with a terrace with a stunning view, ideal location in a beguiling town, great service, decent Wi-Fi in the beautiful, always blooming patio, loads of purified water (a must, and many Mexican hotels—-even the “fancy” ones—-give only a couple of smallish bottles), and the kindest people who truly define hospitality. I have stayed almost yearly, and they always remember me and make sure I have all I need. Last year, they were booked for one of the nights I wanted to visit Taxco, so I went to another, newer hotel that gets rave reviews—-except from me. Ugh. When I returned to the Hotel Santa Prisca this year, it was like returning a welcoming home. I have been lucky to do a bit of world traveling over the years, and at times I even stayed at the four-star places while on business, but the Hotel Santa Prisca ranks among the best I have found. I look forward to returning, enshallah.

Lovely Mexican feel to the place, wonderfully located in the centre of things yet exceptionally quiet. Great library with exceptional view to the Cathedral, and pleasant garden sitting area too. Would recommend this place to others.

Good location, very friendly people and an interested old town

Would definitely stay again

The hotel was perfect. It was right in the center of town. We got a room with a balcony on the first floor, and the view was awesome. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were super friendly and helped us figure out our bus situation. We have no complaints!

Great location wih authentic old style Mexican style and patio garden!

Great location and economic

Centrally located, less than 5 min walk from the Zócalo. Many restaurants and shops near by. Has a nice quiet patio. Stayed in a room with a double and single bed. Room wss small, but clean. Beds are a bit firm, but comfy enough. Good value for the price.

Hotel close to all activities

Great breakfast. You can have a Mescal in the Bar at night. Everything is near and the staff is very friendly to advice you of the area.

A very good choice

I had not been here in 30 years and the place looks even better now than it did then. The hotel is right on San Juan Plaza but my room was quiet. Alas, the wifi signal did not reach my room and the mattress was hard.

Lovely colonial charm

Hotel Santa Prisca is a short,FLAT, walk to the main square where the lovely church of the same name is located. The hotel serves delicious breakfasts and there are numerous restaurants in easy walking distance. Excellent silver shops abound near and far. The view from the room of the town and surrounding valley is stunning. The room itself is adequate, but you probably won't do more than sleep in it.

A classical Mexican hotel and a good choice

Wonderful! In some ways like going back in time; everything is of an old style but very well maintained. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The in-house cafe is open for breakfast only and was a good value at M$ 50-75 depending on choice. We enjoyed the use of the huge patio and lounge areas. VERY inexpensive for what you get.

Simple yet almost perfect

This hotel is a hidden gem in the beautiful city of Taxco. Two years ago when I was passing through, my uncle got us a room here for the night. We enjoyed it so much, that we made sure to stay here for 4 nights this time around. It's a nice quiet hotel a stone's throw away from the Zocalo (City Center Meeting Place) with a lovely garden patio. The rooms are nice and cozy with everything you need. If you're worried about drinking the water, all the rooms have water pitchers that you can fill up at the multiple filtered water stations found right outside your room. But for me the best part by far is the spectacular view of Santa Prisca Cathedral and the rest of the city from the rooftop terrace. I could spend hours up there taking photos

Nice colonial style hotel in the centre of Taxco. Lovely double rooms with small balcony overlooking the town. Location convenient for shops and not far from both bus terminals.

Hotel bien ubicado pero viejo

El personal amable, hotel bien ubicado, es muy viejo y las camas incomodas son de resorte, el baño no para uso sin chanclas y en la noche y madrugada mucho ruido de carros, motos y perros.

Todo bien a la llegada, llegamos a las 11 pero nos entregaron la habitación hasta después de la 1:30 pm, se que el check in es a las 2 así que no tuvimos problemas con eso simplemente dejamos el carro en el estacionamiento, nos cambiamos y llegamos ya en la tarde, el hotel en general está en buen estado, solo el colchón un poco duro pero en general bien, agua caliente y todo

Es un hotel muy céntrico y a pesar de que había mucha gente en la plaza y había mucha fiesta, el ruido no llega a la hab a pesar de que teníamos valcón hacia la calle. Volvería a ese hotel!

Para mí punto de vista, solo una recomendación, cambiar los colchones

Lovely Place, I would come back. Only the living room and dining room were closes, it seems like since covid. That was a bit of a pity. But altogether I recommend the place!

Hotel colonial. Antiguo, fundado en 1940 pero muy limpio, buen trato del personal, único en el centro con estacionamiento. Muy recomendable. A unos pasos del centro y de los mejores restaurantes de Taxco; Santa Fe, Doña Calla, eetc.

El hotel muy bonito del exterior, en sus patios, sin embargo el baño está un poco descuidado y las camas super duras e incómodas, el colchón tiene un protector o plástico que hace ruido cada que te mueves, es muy incomodo.

UN HOTEL CREADO EN UNA CASONA ANTIGUA, CON UN EXCELENTE SERVICIO Y LIMPIEZA, ES SENCILLO PERO CON BUEN MANTENIMIENTO. POR ESTAR A UNA CUADRA DE SANTA PRISCA HAY MUCHO TRÁFICO, PERO LA VENTAJA ES QUE ES CÉNTRICO. EN LA ENTRADA AL HOTEL SE ENCUENTRA UN OXXO. Y EN LA GLORIETA DONDE SE ENCUTNRA LA ENTRADA LLEGA EL TRANSPORTE COLECTIVO.

En general todo bien, la estancia cumplió con lo básico, sin embargo, en el google maps aparece una ubicación como 1 cuadra antes en un edificio abandonado, hablé al hotel para pedir indicaciones y el chavo que me contestó muy sangron no me quiso ayudar y me terminó diciendo "pues no sé donde está usted, búsquelo en google maps", a lo que le dije "ok, seguiré buscando" y antes de colgar se alcanzó a escuchar que se burlaba. El resto del personal muy amable, limpio y céntrico.

Buen Hotel

Hotel con amplia historia dentro de Taxco, construido hace mas de 80 años, lo conservan bastante bien y casi original. Si buscas precio, ubicación y donde dormir es el lugar ideal. Si buscas modernidad, mejor ni vayas a Taxco. Lo antiguo es lo hermoso del lugar.

Excelente hotel, el personal es muy amable y el lugar es muy agradable, un 100 en estas características, lo único que podría agregar es aumentar el número de almohadas.

Me agrado......excelente trato y facilidades en la recepción.....el hotel es antiguo pero muy cómodo y placentero......si quieres vivir la experiencia completa de Taxco tienes que visitar este hotel......lugar céntrico y accesible a todas las diversiones que ofrece Taxco....ya sea que te desplaces en coche propio, caminando y/o transporte público

Es un hotel que conserva sus instalaciones con muy buen mantenimiento a pesar de ser un hotel antiguo, pero es muy cómodo,yo lo consideraría como un hotel muy retro, que tiene todo para descansar,muy buena ubicación por su cercanía al Zócalo
