Luxury by the sea

By far the nicest hotel we have stayed in, beautiful views and great staff. The breakfast was delicious though they could mix up the hot food part a bit as it was the same everyday.

The start of a week in Spain. We were here for only one night, but would have loved to stay longer!! The property is beautiful and the views are amazing!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful with a great selection to choose from. An absolutely fantastic place!!

The property is unique and very picturesque. But be prepared to walk around the hills to the pool, beach and tennis. It’s like hiking resort. But the view are breathtaking. Service is great, people are very nice and friendly

This was our best stay in Spain. It's secluded but excellent beach access with a short walk down. Excellent breakfast, probably best one we had, so many choices. The views were too beautiful. Staff was very nice and helpful. Property is on a cliff so the views and the restaurant has breathtaking views. Restaurant made our night amazing with great cuisine and experience. Everything was 5 stars for our family stay for 2 nts. The only thing I would like to suggest is, to offer a shuttle service to and from the small town close by. We waited in the heat for a taxi for about an hour at the Lloret town taxi stand. Same thing going to town, no taxi came to hotel for 1.5hrs as it is too secluded so not many taxi want to come down. To return to Barcelona airport, I booked a private shuttle through hotel and that was perfect and on time with AC and very comfortable ride but it was expensive 180 Euro one way Lloret to Barc Airport. I would stay here again from Canada for the relaxation, views, pool and beach! All excellent & peaceful

Fabulous indoor pool and sauna area but not used as they wanted another 40euros per person each time we used it - unbelievable given how expensive this hotel is.

The location of the property is amazing - the beach front and pool area is great! The property is run down - rooms and common areas need updating - and the service is not anywhere close to being 5*.

Beautiful Sea Views

A beautiful hotel nestled remotely on a hill overlooking to sea. The sea views from this resort are spectacular. You can still hear the waves lapping up on the shore with the patio doors closed. For those renting a car, there is a large parking lot.

Terrible service. They will much rather discuss why you're wrong, instead of trying to fix your problem, or at least acknowlegde it and be friendly about it. Some of the facilites can only be used for an extra fee, such as the indoor pool. This is not made clear before reservation. The view is absolutely stunning!! The food is generally good, not the best but definitely not the worst. It is however a bit expensive, and with no other options in walking distance, it can feel a bit annoying to be "forced" to eat at the restaurant hotel. Good breakfast, with a bit of variety each day. The juice is not cold, which seems a bit odd to me . Good possibility for room service, and it didnt seem like they charged extra.

Picturesque property ... with 5 star service. Beach access made for a convenient trip. Suggest a car to explore the area if time allows. We will definitely look to book again.

Great location on Costa Brava beach. Hotel is old though they do a good job of keeping it maintained. The staff are mostly nice, some exceptionally nice (reception, guys at pool) but others quick and dismissive (restaurant staff). Room was at best 4 stars. Ours smelled of dog, and indeed there was dog hair on floor that went uncleaned for 3 days. No coffee or tea in room (was told to order room service) and water bottles only provided the first day. Never had enough towels, and the shower leaked and got the entire floor wet. Walls are pretty thin, so expect to hear your neighbors throughout the night in their rooms and in hallways. We expected better value for what we paid for the room, based on what we experienced in other Spanish cities at 5 star resorts. The beach is public and the Santa Marta provides no services there (no waitstaff, umbrellas, chairs, etc). Overall there aren’t many resort options in the area, especially during peak summer season. I would book earlier and hope to stay somewhere else next time.

Look no further and book your holiday in this wonderful hotel! We just came back from a week there. First off, ignore any previous reviews regarding the Annex being dated - it's all been refurbished to a high standard and we would choose it over the main hotel. You get the comfiest bed ever and beautiful views over both the forest and the sea! We didn't at first realise this and changed rooms - twice! - the staff were /all/ friendly and accommodating. The beach is superb and the poolside area well kept. We didn't eat at the hotel because there are some great choices in town - Xaloc in Fenals for instance. Breakfast is a good buffet spread and if you are Keto (you should be), it'll last you the whole day. Couldn't manage to communicate well enough to get a proper latte but that seems to be a Spanish thing ;) Note that you /will/ want a car here and the drive up and down the winding entrance road is fun in and of itself ;) Very highly recommended *****

Simple, yet luxurious!

Do not be deceived by the hotel's dated exterior! We had a renovated room, and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel is essentially on the edge of a cliff, with access to a private beach. Extremely luxurious at a very affordable price. Food was great, service was great. The hotel's definitely a great place to relax and enjoy the Spanish coast!

We were overwhelmed with the beauty of this resort!!!!! Book it!!!! Private property all to yourselves -spa tennis dining pool private stunning beach bars waterfront rooms great staff. A perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful area. This property is a must we are from US and highly recommend!!!!!

Fantastic get away!

After spending several days in the city, retreating to the country side was a necessity. This hotel was exceptional. The perfect location and everyone was wonderful. (Especially Carlos, for putting up with my husband during meals) The atmosphere was very relaxing for the most part. Our one and only issue was the disruption of peace and tranquility caused by several very young children. There was a great deal of crying and carrying on while trying to enjoy the pool/beach area. Napping was out of the question due to the constant crying. It didn’t seem like an appropriate resort for children, more of a couples destination. I know I wouldn’t bring mine there just to respect the other guests. Other than that minor downside,we truly loved this place and will return on our next trip to Spain.

Excellent hotel in private location

Beautiful hotel property; fantastic views of the sea if you have an ocean sea view room. Staff uniformly helpful,and efficient. room extremly comfortable. Food at restaurant, including weekend sea food buffet -all outstanding as was the service ! It is a walk downhill to the beach-easy and there is hotel transportation back up the hill that shuttles back frequently and on request if late in the day. Rather secluded, uncrowded beautiful beach at Santa Cristina where tour boats arrive and depart from nearly the hotel . All together-a wonderful,memorable stay !!!. Only comment-the winding road to/from the hotel is unpaved and a little difficult to navigate, especially at night

Best Holiday In Years

Incredibly beautiful location, attentive staff, great facilities. Views from the terrace are stunning, I'll miss the sound of the waves breaking in the beach. Food excellent and the a la carte restaurant is outstanding for when you really want to push the boat out. Interiors are a little austere and dated. Some minor imperfections with the rooms, but these were immediately dealt In keeping with the high service ethic. Until the next time!

Your own almost private beach and lovely hotel

This hotel is an oasis away from the bustle and tackiness of Lloret de Mar. It has everything you need right there. Beautiful fairly quiet beach and a pool area with a bar. The hotel restaurants are pricey for the area so you can go to the restaurants along the beach for lunch to save some $ and eat something more laid back. We stayed in the annex, which was fine and we had a large room but would rather have had an ocean view.

Wonderful Resort

The resort was beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-equipped. The beach area associated with the hotel was relatively quiet and picturesque. The pool was clean and well-maintained. Note, the pool closes at 7pm, which seemed early for the summer season. We did not dine at the resort. The menu seemed moderately limited and a bit overpriced. Overall, the resort was beautiful, the staff was friendly and the surrounding beaches were gorgeous. I would absolutely stay here again. Oh, and the sea-view room was worth the extra cost!!!

Outstanding Hotel

I would recommend a stay at the Santa Marta Hotel to anybody who wants to break away. The staff were great and the service was outstanding. The room was open and the Sea Views were amazing. I would definitely book again. The main centre is a drive away but not a problem because you have an amazing hotel to come back to.

Quintessential Costa Brava and away from the hustle and bustle of Lloret-De-Mar. Off season so can't judge beach facilities and service @ the beach. Restaurant was good but very overpriced.

Nice hotel, reservation department cheating client

Nice place, far to the pool and beach. The staff promised a discounted rate due to a wedding but didnt want to tell the rate over the phone ( we already had a reservation and wanted tomuphrade and att extra nights) . When we arrived i asked for the total price and they said it would be ready at departure. Finally they tricked us on the price. I argued the price was not logical and they finally made a correction but sneaked in a an extra breakfast line etc. I stopped there as this told me enough of their mentality. No balcony; a shame

Really nice hotel

Went there for weekend, was a relaxing break. The seafood buffet during lunch was definitely a highlight with fresh grilled lobster, razor clams etc. Delicious!

Wonderful long weekend at Santa Cristina Beach

We wanted to visit the Costa Brava region of Spain as an extension of our visit to Barcelona. We were not disappointed with our decision to go to one of the closest beaches, Santa Cristina in the Lloret de Mar district. Santa Marta Hotel overlooks this beautiful beach and provided a wonderful and restful stay for me, my husband and our teenage daughter. Upon arrival, I requested a room overlooking the sea and they accommodated us. The room had a spacious balcony and plenty of room for all three of us. The bathroom even had double sinks, a bidet, and everything was impeccably clean. On site was a wonderful restaurant which served dinner on a terrace overlooking the sea, a breakfast buffet on an equally beautiful terrace, and a lunch buffet on the beach. The food was amazing. We loved the complementary appetizers at the start of each dinner, and the complementary glasses of cava. The Hotel also had a wonderful salt water pool, a hot tub, tennis courts, library, and live performances in the evening. The staff was attentive and engaging. We loved every aspect of our stay and would highly recommend this Hotel for all types of travelers.

More attention to the details needed

The location is very good and calm. Beach is nice, swimming pool ok and tennis courts looked fine. Parking is perfect and you are allowed a small fee to bring your dog. We had our own car and would not recommend staying here if you are without own transportation since you will need such to go to the nearby cities. The hotel is 5 stars and with that in mind one would expect all to be in perfect order, but unfortunately this is not the case. The air-condition did not work, there is no light on the verandas connected to your room, the bed light is weak and makes reading difficult. Internet connection is only really reliable in the shared areas and not in our room - it could only connect in the hall, which makes reading/working from the room a bit complicated. We did not manage to find the key to the safety box and the closets were hard to open & close. We went there in the low season and understandably there is less service people around and some of the facilities close to the pool and beach are closed, but one would expect to find enough available towels ready for the quests. Generally the personnel needs to act more proactive in their attitude towards helping the quests and inform about all the facilities upon arrival. Would like to mention that the breakfast and the service here was excellent.

Great hotel and staff

The only downside is that you have to drive if you want to go anywhere cause the hotel is a remote location, it's a short drive downtown but you can't walk it. If you are ok with staying in the hotel and the beach the entire stay than it's perfect.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand Santa Cristina, 10 Minuten mit dem Auto von Lloret de Mar oder 13 Minuten von Blanes. Man ist vom Taxi oder eigenem Auto abhängig. Da das Hotel Santa Marta tatsächlich ein Traum ist, nimmt man das gerne in Kauf.

Tudo otimo, hotel excelente, serviço impecável. Recomendo!!

Hotel excepcional con una ubicación inmejorable y un personal excepcional. Probablemente el mejor equipo de personas que jamás he encontrado en un hotel. a todos los niveles, eficientes, resolutivos, amables.

Bel hôtel, dans un parc, avec un accès à la belle plage de santa cristina. Très propre. Personnel plutôt agréable. Mais beaucoup de chiens (ils sont admis) et d enfants, rendant l endroit bruyant. Tarifs des déjeuners et dîners excessifs . Bon petit déjeuner, avec une vue magnifique sur la mer.

Le site est vraiment magnifique. La restauration et le service de très bonne qualité. Seul bémol, le prix des chambres côté mer est trop élevé.
