You get what you pay for, lice and ticks

You get what you pay for, 60€ and it was absolutely horrible, bugs on the bed, smoke and condition of the place is very run down. It's insane how these places exist like this. The area has some nicer places for €40-50 more!

Budget friendly hotel. But I would not recommend. Sketchy neighborhood, next to a strip club. Loud all day. There were people yelling inside the building, woke me up at 3am. Uber driver warned me to stay away from area.

Unsafe and horrific experiance

The hotel was absolutely horrific. Located in the red light district with streets full of drug addicts and homeless people. I literally felt my life was in danger every time I walked in. The hotel services were poor. Receptionist making unsolicited remarks, knocking way before check out time to tell us to leave. Room itself was dirty, with broken lamps, bathroom doors not closing properly and dirty shower room. I think the worst and frankly most unsettling was the nights. People shouting, screaming, knocking on the doors, chucking things around. It was an actual nightmare. I felt so unsafe in my room I was considering calling 112 ( German equivalent of 911) several times. I was happy to leave the place and would not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed there for one night only, it was convenient that hotel is in 5 walking distance to railway station, BUT it’s located in a terrible area - red light quarter, all drug addict and drunk people, also homeless were walking/ lying on the streets. The Reception man I assume has consumed Cannabis, at the reception was Cannabis smell, he was a bit strange. The rooms are tiny, which is not a problem, cleanliness was ok, but I’m the night we had in our room smell of cannabis again, needed to close windows. I would have rather stayed in hostel for that price

Make sure you know what you're getting for your $

The price was right for an urgent 1-night stay. VERY friendly and helpful gent at the front desk for check-in. I neglected to select 'air conditioning' as an amenity for my search for lodgings. I won't make that error again. There is an out-of-order buzzer to get on to the property, and my calls to the number shown for building access would not go through (fault of my phone, not the property-but others may have the same issue) The optional parking can be a challenge getting in and out of the spaces, especially since so many people seem to be unable to keep their vehicles within the lines – or worse yet, have vehicles that are just plain too big to be there in the first place.

We liked the hotel, it was very clean and staff were very friendly and professional, but we found getting to the hotel a bit difficult due to the neighbourhood where the hotel was located. The entrance for the hotel was difficult to find without crossing the street to look back, and then when we did find it, the entrance was a bit sketchy. We did appreciate how it was gated, which made it feel safer.

Didn't stay as unsafe and not sure what infection and diseases we would have caught if stayed the night. More than happy to lose our money. At least I will live another day. Which would have been debatable if we had stayed at this place. Avoid at all costs.

We got what we paid for! Considering the rate, we were pleased. The location was a few blocks from the train station which could be good for some people. It was in what we would call the "Red Light District". That said we didn't feel unsafe. We did return to the hotel by 8:00. We could walk to the Christmas markets. We would stay there again.

The hotel is in a seedy part of town, and is behind a expanded metal locked gate. Once you are in the room, you can only lock it with a key. If there are two of you and one goes out, the other is locked inside the room. The room was clean, but very dated. The beds must be over 20 years old.

Small sweaty room with druggies outside the entran

The location made me feel very unsafe every time I entered and exited. Around the block is where druggies shoot up drugs with the government provided needles. The entrance is next door to a strip club bar where there is a man who aggressively tries to make you go in. No thanks. The room was small and had no air conditioning so I was sweating every minute there. I could barely get in the shower. But when I did, I burned myself with the exposed pipes. First time visit to Frankfurt.

The hotel is fair to good, for a cheap efficient place. The room, bathroom and sheets were spotless. Breakfast (free with your stay) is good, and WiFi satisfactory. Be aware the area is a red light district, but the street people didn't approach me. Gated entrance with buzzer, so it's safe. Just walk briskly with your head up and no one bothers. Frankfurt is an easy city to get around, not so many people as it was Feb, but museums, cafes and bars all open and welcoming.

All the four days I stayed here in private single room, there wasn't hot water. You may imagine taking bath in cold water when the outside temperature is around zero degrees. In spite of many reminder, no action from the hotel team.nor ready to change the room claiming all are full. Nobody owns the responsibility. If I inform morning staff, he says please inform to the next shift. If we inform to the night shift, she says that she is not responsible. I am a business man used to travel very often. This is a very bad experience I has ever. Fifth day I changed to another nearby hostel.

Basic hotel near main train station

While it was convenient to the train station, it is in the heart of the Red Light district. The hotel itself is set back from the street with a secure entry. But one must walk through area with questionable characters milling on the street. Once inside, the receptionist is pleasant enough, there is a lift, the room is OK. But the pillows reek of cigarette smoke and the neighbors were loud and boisterous with lots of door slamming.

Hotel is behind a gated parking garage's gate. There is a button you need to push to get buzzed in... Took me a bit to figure this out.. Hotel room was fine, shower was a bit weird and I think people larger than me (waist 42) might have a tough time getting into it. You have to leave the key at the front desk whenever you leave the hotel. It is in the Frankfurt Red light district. Sketchy, a bit dirty, but very convenient for traveling to Frankfurt or other destinations. Easy walking to the HBF or subways. Breakfast was German hotel traditional; pastries and deli meats and was included.

the hotel is very clean, the staff is kind & friendly, when I needed their assistance, they were very accommodating. the free breakfast is really a nice bonus which I didn't expect. the hotel is heavenly quiet at night. but the neighborhood is a completely different ball game! if you're looking to buy drugs then you are at the right neighborhood! if you're into brothels, strip joints and adults clubs, than that’s perfect for you. The hotel is in the worst imaginable neighborhood on the planet!!! FULL of noisy junkies, beggars, drunks, drug dealers, working girls, pimps & street dwellers. the neighborhood is very filthy and stinks. It looks VERY dangerous at night. on the upside, there's a heavy presence of police 24/7, which gives a sense of security.

It was just okay. I probably won't stay again

Breakfast was okay, which included toast, jams, butter, hard boiled eggs, meats and cheeses, rolls, coffee, juices, water and tea. The staff was nice, but not overly nice. The one maid only spoke Russian, but once we got thru the language barrier, she was great. The room itself was a problem. We sneezed and coughed the whole time we were there, and I believe it's from not vacuuming the rug. The hotel is smoking, and that was also a problem for us, but we left our windows opens for the day and that seemed to help. The pillow and bed were a little uncomfortable and I made an extra pillow out of my clothes. The street that the hotel is on is not suitable for families or women, I would say, as well as the cross street and the street behind the hotel. The location itself though is fantastic, Easily accessible to the train station, which is a block away, and everything else is probably between a 15-30min walk away.

Hotel within easy reach of main station

At first, the location of the Rossija Hotel may put off the visitor as it is on the edge of the red-light district, but the site is within a short walk of the main railway station and thus very convenient. The hotel is not directly on the main street but accessible through gates, which provides more security. Reception and breakfast room staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Rooms are spacious, modern, comfortable, there is an excellent large worktable. Breakfast is comprehensive and there is a calm and cosy atmosphere. It appears to be a 3 star hotel but from the comfort and facility aspect, it should really have a 4 star rating. There is a large car parking area in the inner courtyard, behind the secure gates. There were two things that detracted from the overall positive impression: as it is in a lively area, rooms facing Mosel strasse can be noisy, so it is best to keep windows closed and then it is nice and quiet. Also, being near the railway station, after 7am, the room guest will hear a deep rumble which occurs regularly as the trains thunder past. Fortunately this sound stops after 23.00.

My stay was ok except that the hotel is located on a high street with so many bars pob centers and other drinking joints that makes it prone to drukards and other people of like minds

this hotel is in a poor area

Gated, barbed wire hotel in the red light distrct of Franfurt. Rooms are small. If you want low cost accomodation say for a couple of young guys backpaking, it may be OK but there are more choices quite close by in less dangerous areas. Experienced traveller's would be better off to look around the local area a bit more.

Clean, and affordable. location not for all..

This hotel was very clean and affordable however it is located in a questionable neighborhood, it is located close to many adult establishments (strip bars, sex shops, etc) . Based on other reviews this is popularly called the red light district, i did not see any sign of actual prostitution going on, I did not feel threatened at all when i stayed here but some people may not be able to handle it, there is questionable individuals near by who keep to them selves, there is drug activity in this area but like i said as long as you keep moving and just mind your own business no one will bug you, once you get passed the negative area which takes 2 minutes to get though you immediately run into a very busy downtown filled with restaurants, phone/internet shops, coffee shops, convenience stores, pharmacies, and also all the transportation room was very clean and comfortable building has lift (elevator) small tv with local channels quite towards the back of the hotel, the front may be noisy from nearby bars breakfast buffet included, orange juice, tea, coffee, toast, other bread rolls, thin sliced meats, sliced cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, many options of jelly/chocolate spreads and butter, unlimited, spacious breakfast room they have alcohol available in the lobby free newspapers activity and tour flyers in lobby 24 hour reception it is too bad that this nice hotel has to be located in what some people consider a bad area, i would guess this is why it is affordable, i would stay here again no problem, like i mentioned i did not have any issues but cannot guarantee this to everyone, hotel staff was friendly and did recommend being aware of the surroundings specially at night recommended for young people open minded people single men groups of open minded street smart girls people on a budget people who are used to living near questionable areas not recommended for older people and old fashioned folk families/children single girls (unless your open minded and are street smart)

Too expensive and dirty room

It was obvious that there hadn't been a vacuum cleaner in the room for some days. In addition, when I woke up in the morning I realised, after finishing a shower, that the hotel had forgotten to give me a towel. Rather inconvenient! The hotel is situated right in the middle of Frankfurt's "red light district" and is definitely not a hotel for families.

This so called hotel sucks----unbelievab

[...] I have never responded to a survey before but I have to after this stay. First of all to get to the hotel one have to pass drug dealers and prostitutes and callgirl houses and there is your hotel right in the middle of all this--Surprise. I wish someone would have put this out there for the unsuspecting traveler. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay here...you will feel very unsafe and scared to go outside at night or get to your room after dark. This was an awful experience. [...]

The hotel is unfortunate in being

The hotel is unfortunate in being located in the redlight area and my first impression was one of concern. However I stayed there with my wife and teenage son and we went sightseeing without anyone troubling us. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. If you are expecting 5 star hotels at 3 star prices forget this one but if you are realistic and want value for money this is ideal. They also have very secure parking at a reasonable charge.

Not all it's cracked up to be...

The hotel location, although walking distance from city highlights, is really NOT the best. Our journey from the train station took us buy many strip clubs, casinos, and drug addicts directly across from the hotel. The hotel itself is behind an electronic gate! The price is very affordable, and they do offer a breakfast, but based on what we saw, there are better places to stay for maybe $10-15 more.

The hotel was easily found in

The hotel was easily found in relation to the Frankfurt Hbf, which is what we wanted. The hotel is located in the Eros zone with all the attendant sleaze and crime (shooting up at the front gate). The Police seemed to have given up on crime this time compared to previous visits to Frankfurt. Easy walk to the old town area where good meals were to be had.

Basic, clean and affordable @ HBF

It was a forced choice when airport was closed down due to volcanic ash. We needed a place close to Hauptbahnhof - and it is very close. At the same time it is Red Lights district with all the related things. Did not feel unsafe, but of course not the regular family ground. Basic shower, hairdryer is not in the room, but it is readily available from the reception desk. Rooms were cleaned up regularly. Breakfast/ coffee OK, orange juice was below average. There is Starbucks on the parallel street one block away

As others have said the hotel

As others have said the hotel is smack bang in the middle of Frankfurt's red light district but it is kind of locked away in its own little compound with security gate making it very safe. The main railway station and shops are a few minutes walk away. Staff are pleasant enough. Rooms are very clean but walls are quite thin so you hear a lot of noise from the corridor outside and adjacent rooms which can be annoying. WiFi internet access is available but not for free. Breakfast is served daily from 7-10am.

dirty, filthy, w horehouse

this hotel in the middle of the redlight district is terrible. I chose it beause I thought the location is perfect for me. In between the trainstation and the fairground. But, the hotel is shabby and not cosy at all, there was somebody elses hair all over the room and bathroom. I told the lady at the reception to advise the cleaning lady to vacuum clean the room. When I returned in the evening the bed was made, but all the hair and crumbs where at the exact same place. Disgusting! nasty! I could hardly get some sleep, because people where coming and going and having s e x all night. I guess that the girls from the street come to do their business in this hotel. I will never ever, ever stay there again !!!!!!!!

Anything but elegant...

Rossija was not bad for a single traveler, but if you are trying to impress your partner, I would go elsewhere. There are several other hostels and hotels that offer similar rooms with similar perks at lower prices. The staff was friendly and spoke English... but they threw away my roach while cleaning my room. During the summer, Rossija doesn´t use its airconditioning... so its sort of hot.

Dreadful hotel - more like an

Dreadful hotel - more like an army barracks. Middle of sex district with drug addicts hanging around. Tiny beds - impossible to keep small duvet on. Bedside table located by door as there is not enough room by the bed! Basic bathroom. TV with tiny screen and only German programmes - no satellite. Ridiculous price for a very poor hotel. Do NOT recommend
