Excellent staying

Everything was excellent. Very professional and kind staff. We especially liked animation program and super cool animators. Excellent food and alot to choose for all tastes. Room is nice, clean and cleaning ladies are very nice and friendly. We were on our honeymoon and the staff gave us a welcome drink to the room and nice decoration with towels.

The property is lovely surrounded by palm trees. The rooms are spacious. We liked that the various buildings of rooms were only 2 floors and each had a veranda. We were especially impressed with their buffets. Incredible variety of foods and very well prepared. The only thing it lacks from our perspective is a couple more a la carte restaurants. There is only one in the resort, the rest are buffets.

Funana Fantastic

I stayed for a week with family. The hotel has everything you could wish for, it has African decor, to give you a true authentic African atmosphere with terracotta and dark wood, African paintings, The cleaners and maintenance workers never stop. The restaurants are great, the pool is fabulous, the beach is a stroll to the back of the hotel grounds. I highly recommend

I liked the buffet. The variety of food is endless. The staff are very friendly and super hardworking. I liked everything.

We loved the night entertainment, especially the kids activities, the food at the buffet restaurants and the cleanliness of the property. The gardens are immaculate and very well looked after. Two out of three A la carte restaurants should not be closed 3 days per week, by the time we checked in they were fully booked. The rooms are in need of refurbishment, they don't meet 5 stars standards. The mini fridge in the rooms only offer two bottle of water, we stayed for three nights at a different 5* hotel in the island and they were offering a selection of soft drinks and beer in the room. Air conditioning in the room works fine but again, the vents are dated and you cannot switch between different modes such as dry, cool, fan.. or intensities. Overall a very good experience, expecially for families with young kids, but if you are a couple or looking for a 5* experience and comfort you might find other hotels in the island meeting your expectations fully and a better value for money.

The hotel is nice, the pools are huge, good restaurants, good animation team. The woman at the reception kept speaking Spanish to me, I don’t know why. She gave me a room that was very far and no one helped me bring my bags in. Plus she forgot to give me the bracelet so security stopped me later questioning if I was a guest. The biggest drawback was that the beach is too far. I tried to go and find it a few times but was swarmed with men sitting outside the gate and selling tours. I didn’t feel comfortable walking the super long desert road alone to try and find the beach. It’s so far, you can’t even see it from the gate. There are plenty of amazing hotels right on the beach in Sal so this was a huge disappointment. The Riu hotel I stayed at on Boa Vista was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at so I had high hopes for this one but it doesn’t compare. I left after one day.

I love it, I think the pool closes pretty early.

Riu Funana is a very well kept and family friendly resort. We came first more than 10 years ago, and were happily surprised to see that the resort had only improved, particularly the service and activities. Highly recommended for families with young children.

Great beach and dunes in a walking distance

Spend here 2 last days of our Cape Verde trip before the departure to Europe. Good place to take last sun and ocean treatment. If your departure is late in the evening ask for late check out (possible to 18:00) to have all inclusive services non stop Reception staff can make you feel mad if you'll try to ask for smth unusual (beach towels when you check-in in the evening), so please be patient, just keep all receipts they gave you (paid government tax)

Great for families

A big resort with all the conditions for a good vacations. Ideal for families with kids. The sea water is absolutly great! Warm, calm and very very clean and transparent.

Good value all-inclusive hotel with nice beach

Riu Funana is a huge resort with level of amenities and services. Although the level of entartainment could be better. Good value of money!

we were forced to book a night here because no other hotels were available. I know it;s just this type of all inclusive, but really, if you ever want to get to a place that has NO local charm, do go one of these riu hotels. Horrible. We were glad we were there only for 1 night. Friendly staff though

Great hotel for couples

The entertainment staff worked very hard. Lots of food but not great quality. Best thing about this hotel is proximity to best beach in Cape Verde.

Hotel avec un buffet de qualité (sauf pour les boissons: alcools et sodas de trés mauvaise qualitè) et assez diversifié: equipe d'animation toujours souriante et hyper investie (en journée comme pour les spectacles, de qualité). Bemols: 2 piscines principales ou les gens boivent, mangent, envahissent l'espace avec d'enormes bouees pour enfants...bref, trop bruyant, impossible de nager ou d'etre ranquillement dans l'eau. A 11h, il n'y avait deja plus de serviettes a la piscine...et ce, jusqu'en fin de journee. Personne ne nous informe que l'on peut reserver d'autres restaurants que le buffet et au SPA, malgre l'achat d'un massage, personne ne nous informe que nous avons acces au jacuzzi ou au hammam. Bref, pour un 5 etoiles, beaucoup d'a peu pres, difficile de se reposer(mais plutot lié au manque de civisme de certaines personnes, trop nombreuses)

Pésimo

A limpeza no hotel a zona fora de quartos era pésima. Muito sujo e cheiro muito forte a volta dos bares da piscina, cheirava sempre a álcool e vómito. Junto à piscina alguma criança dlse lembrou de fazer suas necesidades la e demoraram e ninguém ia lá limpar, o cheiro era insoportavel. Filas para tudo, pouco pessoal para atender as necesidades das pessoas. Se tinha que andar inmenso até chegar a praia. As comidas sempre eram as mesmas. Não recomendo para nada este hotel, foi a. Outros muito mais baratos que superou as espetativas. Este hotel muito caro para a má qualidade que ofrece.

Très bon séjour mais check in compliqué...

Nous avons passé 4 super jours dans cet hôtel. Cela avait pourtant mal commencé : Adèle à l'accueil ne trouvait pas notre réservation, une autre personne a du nous prendre en charge puis elle a repris le dossier avec très grande lenteur. Elle a eu de grosses difficultés pour nous faire les réservations de restaurants et les horaires d ouverture des restaurants communiqués étaient incorrects ! Bref ne perdez pas votre temps avec elle ! Elle n est vraiment pas compétente ! Sinon hôtel super sympa surtout avec des enfants avec les aires de jeux aquatiques. Très bon repas, déçus de ne pas avoir pu tester le restaurant gastronomique car tous les créneaux étaient pris sur notre période. Magnifique plage atteignable en 5 minutes à pied

Très bel hotel, nourriture vraiment bonne et variée, personnel hyper attentionné, très agréable dans l'ensemble, seul hic, les personnes qui font les chambres et qui ont tendance à parler fort de bon matin, pas top pour les grasses matinées !

Hyggelig hotell med grei beliggenhet og veldig mye grønt beplanting. Noe eldre men greit vedlikeholdt. Madrassene på sengene noe harde. Vennlig personale, forventningen til tips fra vaskepersonalet var noe plagsomme, noen kunne gå inn på rommet og spørre om alt var ok flere ganger Ila en dag, vi ble også oppringt med samme spørsmål. Ettersom vi sluttet å gi tips, minsket det på vann flaskene inne på rommet også. Drinkene var ferdig blandet og lite mulighet for valg. På Strand serveres kun øl, vann/brus og en utvalgt drink. Mat serveres kun på hotellets området. Veldig stor utvalg på matretter både til lunch og middag. Noe innsnevret frokost stod i kontrast, men var ikke dårlig. Kvaliteten på maten var god. Generelt var maten lite krydret men det var en hylle med diverse sauser. Hele tiden var det masse aktiviteter både ved bassengene og på stranda. Kina restauranten og grill restauranten har vi vært på og maten var ganske bra, en så litt lite krydret til å være asiatisk. Gourmet restaurant må en bestille bord med en gang etter ankomst, pga for få plasser. Så det rakk vi ikke. Pleier ikke å reise med all inklusive vanligvis så dette var nytt for meg. Helt grei hotell for dette formålet.

El resort está bien; personal de servicio, animación, servicios…. Comida; normal. Siempre faltaba algo y no la reponían. Por mala suerte nos retrasaron el vuelo cuatro horas, queríamos seguir disponiendo de la habitación y nos cobraron 35 euros a mayores. Es un resort donde se está agradable y cómodo

Ferias tranquilas

Hotel com ótima estrutura, porém tem alguns pontos negativos, bebidas não são originais e são preparadas de forma rápida não sendo saborosas e não fazendo bem quando toma , exceto a cerveja que é chopp, praia fica distante tem que caminhar quase 1 km para chegar na praia, a Pacha o dia que fui não tinha ninguém , esperava mais agito no hotel, talvez seja mais indicado para familias, shows também não são muito cheios e esperava mais animação. Pessoal do hotel , todos muito simpaticos, atendimento impecavel, quartos são confortáveis porém nada de muito luxo e hotel em si não é tão novo, piscinas muito boas e restaurantes com bastante opção porém para quem fica muitos dias acaba se tornando repetitivo. Retaurantes selecionados tem 3 porém é difícil conseguir marcar horário nesses. Na praia do hotel tem um bar que também é all inclusive com cerveja, refrigerantes , agua e sucos de maquina.

Ottima posizione , buon servizio , cibo abbondante e molto buono!

Pulizia impeccabile, cibo vario e di ottima qualità, personale discreto e professionale, posizione fantastica a 5 minuti a piedi dall' oceano (con lettini e teli mare inclusi nel prezzo dell hotel), spa e jacuzzi.

Todo muy bien, pero todo el mundo jugaba con pelo tas en lá piscina y no puedes banarte

Hotel internazionale di grandi dimensioni perfettamente organizzato e quindi in grado di garantire un servizio celere nonostante la contemporanea presenza di moltissimi clienti. La spiaggia, distante trecento metri dal resort, ed il mare favolosi. Le piscine del resort sono affollatissime e per chi ama fare 4500 km su un aereo per starvi in ammollo potrebbe essere un problema.

Tout était parfait. Tant le personnel que la chambre que la nourriture. L’endroit est magnifique

Resort davvero ben fatto. Pulito e con personale gentile. Sulla spiaggia. Con molto verde e giardini curati (la non piove da 3 anni). Le camere vengono pulite e riordinate tutti i giorni. 2 bottiglie di acqua lasciate in stanza tutti i giorni più altre 2 bottiglie in frigorifero. È All inclusive su tutto qualsiasi cosa da bere e mangiare ed in qualsiasi ristorante. Si ha la scelta di 3 ristoranti su prenotazione e 1 self service a libero servizio ricchissimo di scelte sia a colazione che pranzo che cena. Cucina davvero ottima. Piscina con molte sdraio a disposizione. SPA con entrata a idromassaggio e bagno turco gratuito. Animazione per nulla invadente. Siamo stati pienamente soddisfatti del nostro soggiorno e sicuri di voler soggiornare su un altro resort della catena RIU.

Fantastico aunque con alguna mejora

El hotel es estupendo. La única pega que pondría es que hay demasiados mosquitos (fui en el mes de abril). Como recomendación pondría en las habitaciones algún tipo de aparato anti mosquitos ya que toda mi familia acabamos acribillados a picadas.
