Property could do with a major refresh, only ok considering the price. The dining room was positively lugubrious.
Great central hotel handy to everything. Stuff at the desk were helpful
No complaints about the hotel at all except for the awful shower. Every time we showered, it soaked the bathroom and we had to use our towels to mop it up. All they have to do is put a shower curtain around the whole thing to fix it. We would stay here if they fixed the shower situation.
The hotel itself was wonderful, it was walkable, clean and nice. Make double sure that your reservation covers the continental breakfast though, as even though we asked on the way in, as we were checking out the staff at the front desk charged an extra $30 because it wasn’t included in our original reservation.
It is a beautiful old hotel with friendly helpful staff. Our room had lots of closet space and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning works well and is quiet. We slept well as there was very little street noise. Unfortunately, the shower and bath was not good. The shower had lots of pressure, but when you use it, water splashes all over the bathroom and we had to use most of our towels to mop it up. They need to fix this. In addition, the Wi-Fi is not good, and twice we blew breakers when we plugged in our phones to charge them. Great location with lots of dining and shopping options. Fix the shower and Wi-Fi issues and we would definitely stay here again.
Comfortable hotel around the corner from Plaza Trinidad. The room was bright and clean. The bathroom was large with a tub.
Lovely old hotel. Very practical and very close to everywhere . I shall come back!
near everything, shopping, restraunts, train, hop on hop on hop off,
Staff very helpful. Location was close to areas of interest. Off site parking a little challenging but close by. Beds were not too comfortable. Breakfast buffet not very good.
This hotel was Fantastic! TIP: if you are driving, there is a 15 min parking spot immediately to the right of the front door in the alley so you can check in and get instructions to the parking garage. Streets are narrow so do not upsize your rental vehicle! The hotel is in a perfect spot next to a small square where you can have a coffee and breakfast. Easy walking to every attraction you’d like to see, but to save some foot fatigue, you can take a bus or Uber to Alhambra. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful to recommend things to see and do. Buffet breakfast starts at 7:30 and has a good selection, but you could buy fruit across the street and eat in the square for half the cost. I highly recommend Reina Christina and would definitely stay here again!
I stayed only for two nights. While I found there were some signs of wear, there wasn't anything particularly concerning. The decor did seem out of date, but that seemed to enrich the aesthetics of the hotel. The bed was comfortable and there was ample space in my room. It was convenient located within a walkable distance between the train station and city centre. The only issue I had was the behavior of other guest who decided to have loud conversations in the hallway while I was trying to sleep. I have no reason to belive this was the hotels fault, but perhaps greater policing of the public areas would be helpful.
This place is a dump. We decided in ten minutes to go to another hotel, as we could not stay. The room had a low set of beds even though we asked well in advance for a single large bed. The window looked 2 metres over to a blank wall. The furniture was old and tired; there was only one chaur
Excellent hotel, friendly helpful staff. Central location. We had a room with window overlooking the street, noise disturbance, particularly Saturday night.
The first room with view on the street was extremely noisy. I got a second room with view on the inner courtyard. Even though, the room was quieter, it was extremely stuffy having to keep the windows closed as not to hear the noise in the reception area. The breakfasts were hit and miss. The first morning, the eggs were cold. The waiter brought them back to the kitchen to be warmed up. Nevertheless, they came back still cold. The second morning, breakfast was much better. The staff at breakfast and at the restaurant was wonderful. These gentlemen were professional and helpful. The staff at the reception desk was a mix; some were grumpy, others were welcoming and helpful. The location is perfect, you can walk to most attractions. The hotel is older and needs some freshening up and care.
A very well located property for exploring Granada.Friendly and accomodating staff.Whilst the property is reminiscent of a bygone era the rooms could do with some modernisation.
Helpful staff, disappointing room
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the public areas were wonderful with lovely art work and decorations. The room was a little shabby and we were surprised to have no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Great stay
Very interesting hotel very clean with great staff
Central location and istoric building
Excellent stay in the heart of Granada!
Good choice value for money
Very well located! very friendly staff
Nice, but noisy
The lobby was pretty and the room was a decent size. The hotel is in a convenient location, but the rooms had poor sound insulation so we heard noise from the street and other rooms which made it hard to sleep, and the curtains didn't close completely. The AC was pretty weak and left the room a little too hot to sleep well in.
I have stayed here before; it is my favorite hotel.
Hotel full of history. Lobby particularly attractive. Bed comfortable and room quiet. Staff friendly
Nice place to stay, great location for walking to all the important sites.
It’s a beautiful old time hotel. The restaurant is great. The location excellent. The AC worked well.
Very well positioned. The links with the murdered poet Lorca make it interesting. Very friendly staff especially in the Bar. Very generous Tapas. On the downside, no English Language Television. Rather sparsely furnished, only one chair.
I was in the front section with a room overlooking the lobby courtyard. I expect to be able to sleep in a hotel but the noise severely limited that. Voices from the lobby were so amplified that it sounded like they were right outside my window. The door locks require a clunky key and are so loud. Guests pull the door close which sounds like it is being slammed. Walls are thin. Add the annoyance of many small broken things and disinterested staff. The back section may be better. The hotel was clean. I get crabby when I don't slerp and I was very crabby when I unfortunatly stayed here. NOT RECOMMENDED
The location is perfect. WE are tourists so were able to walk to see all of the sights. The front desk people were very helpful and the bar next door served delicious tapas and reasonably priced drinks with friendly waiter. The hotel is historic so lots of antiques. The room floor was not very clean- you could feel grit on your feet as you walked. They didn't replenish our shampoo or soap so we conserved on the last day- but we could have asked for more. The bathroom is very small. Overall it was pleasant and served our needs. It came highly recommended by our neighbor who has stayed there a number of times. Price is great too!
Room at the back was incredibly noisy due to machinery, all night long. Hardly slept. Coffee machine at breakfast was playing up and guests had to help each other. Grumpy desk staff. Never again.
I always stay here when in Granada. It is ideally located and is very friendly with good facilities.
Old Style Hotel
This was an old style hotel, but the location was close to the Cathedral and not a long walk to the C3 bus for Alhambra. The wifi was terrible - basically useless. Although there was a safe in the room it was unusable unless you paid an additional 3 Euros a day for an "activator". Got really cold in the room the first night but there were no extra blankets in the room.
Very central. Rooms overlook nice central atrium
A nice hotel. Clean, centrally situated in a quiet street. Almost next door to a useful mini market and in a network of interesting streets.
Charming but a little frayed around the edges
Clean, modest rooms in a fabulous location just meters away from the Cathedral. The amenities e.g. air conditioning/bathroom/hair dryers etc were all a little old and worn but still functioning. Excellent service from reception staff. The hotel was very quiet when we stayed but I'd get the impression that during busy periods the noise from the tiled floors in the corridors/doors slamming would be quite noticeable. All in all a great price for a very charming hotel with lots of history - just don't expect any mod cons.
Comfortable 3 star in Granada
Clean and comfortable, well located for exploring the town on foot. Easy walk to downtown. Friendly and helpful front desk. Cleaning staff fine. An interesting and attractive building. Associated coffee shop OK for light meals; associated restaurant looked stuffy, and so didn't go in. Good selection of cafes around nearby plaza. A good to very good 3 star.
Good central location, next to a quiet square.
Very pleasant stay, close to cathedral and other central attractions.
Hotel in Granda
It was an efficient 3 star hotel, I enjoyed the stay but in the best European tradition the comfort and space of US hotel was lacking.
Close to centre and shops and places of interests.
A nice classic hotel with a lot of effort in adding to the character . However the big issue for me was guests smoking in hotel room which seems to be a european thing. My room stank of smoke and it was disgusting. Room was cleaned very well and hotel staff were very pleasant. Wifi worked brilliantly. Breakfast was standard european food.
Beds not the best kind but the overall was great
I would stay there again. Love the staff and neighborhood.
Great breakfast.
Great location but difficult to get to by car. Great breakfast.
Poor value
The location is perfect. The hotel is. Be teally located near the cathedral. The lobby is very nice looking and the showers have good water pressure. Unfortunately the rooms leave much to be desired. They are tiny and the beds feel like cots. This is not up to standard for a three-star hotel.
Not a three star hotel
The location is great. The lobby makes the hotel look nice but the rooms are awful. The rooms need refreshing, they are tiny, the beds are among the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. Good things - the staff are friendly and the water pressure in the showers is ok.
TV not working; shower not working; charged very high commission(over 1000%) for AlHambra entrance tickets;
Excellent location - convenient to everything. Would recommend it to all.
Beware traffic and parking
Conveniently located. But traffic in Granada is heavy, on-street parking is essentially non-existent, the street pattern is confusing, and GPS often gives misleading information due to road construction. So visitors should discuss the best place to park with hotel management before they arrive - otherwise you can waste a lot of time.
Disappointing - needs maintenance
We were excited to stay here due to its location and history (interesting connection with Lorca's "demise"). Unfortunately, it appears the hotel has not been well-maintained. The lobby is still quite attractive, but our room left something to be desired. There were large dust bunnies on the floor throughout our stay (indicating a lack of care by the cleaning staff), and the shower and shower curtain were hit and miss. It did appear that a section of rooms near ours was nicer and may have been renovated. If the (remainder of?) the hotel is renovated, it would be a great place to stay. The location can't be beat (5 minutes from the cathedral) and the staff were all quite personable with most if not all speaking at least some English. I don't make negative comments because of being picky - stayed in a very similar hotel in Seville (Hotel Maestranza - highly recommended!) right before this. However, the hotel in Seville was spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained, though possibly the room was even a bit smaller and the double beds could not be pushed together there.
Great, central hotel.
Loved the hotel. It was so central too. The beds were a little bit narrow. Also, the decaffeinated coffee was only from a sachet. The water for tea wasn't hot enough. Having said this, the buffet breakfast really was very, very good-apart from the tea/coffee experience. We had coffee and churros in the café downstairs too. Both were delicious! Staff were mostly friendly, though some were a bit serious. I would have liked there to have been more information about the fact that Lorca had stayed there before his death. There was a display cabinet, containing some memorabilia (and other random stuff?)-but I felt like I needed to know more. This was the reason that I had chosen the hotel.
Great
We hadzagreat stay! Nice hotel and perfect location !
ok hotel, wonderful location.
the hotel itself looks good and has a small water fountain in the middle. the decor of the lobby is nice and worth taking photos of. the rooms are too small and beds are small as well. the cleaning lady will clean the room whenever she does even if it's not convenient for you. if you ask her to come back another time, she will refuse and won't clean your room. the breakfast is bad. not much to choose from. there are some eggs and sausage but tasteless. the juices are not good, the bread is hard. in 2 words: breakfast is crappy. the location of the hotel is amazing. centrally located and allows you to go back to the hotel for a short break during "siesta" time when all the shops are closed! in front of the hotel, there's a small bakery shop that bakes fresh breads, cakes and pastries. really nice. there's a "plaza" nearby where there are some fruit and vegetable stalls and there is an amazing tea shop nearby where you can buy wonderful tea. the tea shop is on the corner of the street and right next to it there is an amazing music and souvenir store that sells wonderful flamenco music CDs. the store is called Los Madriles. i recommend it. the major shops are nearby (Puerta Real and the arab souk) but overall, the hotel is just OK. don't pay for the breakfast, and has a nice cheap bar that has a view of the main street Tablas.
Wrong choice!
Nowhere comfortable to sit. No bar or lounge. Room small with odd bolster type hard pillows and with just one upright chair. No international TV channels even though they are advertised in the room. Slung proofing non existent when neighbours come and go or move their beds - can't sleep late or early!. In the end I got the advertised free wi fi but only after an argument - otherwise you have to go to their cafe next door and buy a drink to have free access. Two of the reception staff very good and helpful - the two women - the third a man was rude and unhelpful. Breakfast plentiful but poor quality with undrinkable coffee in a dark and gloomy windowless room. They charge €2.50 an hour to use their computer (again dark and windowless room) even when you give up after five minutes because the mouse is so poor.
I was surprised to find a daily charge for using the safe in the room. The toilet was running and I notified the front desk but it took them over 24 hours to have someone come up and fix it. The rooms are too cramped, but I guess for the price, that's what you get. It is definitely a 3 star hotel.
Clean, comfortable, well located
Received by helpful staff, who made extra effort to arrange car parking. Nice rooms, small but comfortable. Good breakfast, and nice cafe downstairs. Very well located for major sights!!!
Reina Cristina - great, central location
A bit noisy as it´s an older property (part of it´s charm) with little noise suppression btw rooms and hallways. Also trash collection seems happen around 2300 and loud motorcycles at all hrs. Would recommend earplugs for rooms at the front of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and most spoke excellent English.
Lovely
Reina Cristina is a lovely hotel right in Granada. It is within walking distance from many sights in the city. (Keep in mind that the Alhambra is quite a walk, all uphill.) Our room was very clean, very comfortable, and very quiet. The bathroom was small, but that is to be expected in Europe. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The reception area is beautiful! I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
Reina Cristina - Lovely!
A charming hotel very close to the Cathedral, Reyes Catolicos (main drag with all the shops), and the Carrera del Darro (the narrow road leading up to the Albaicin and the caves). Very clean and very helpful front desk. I would stay here again.
Best feature is location
We only spent one night so didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel. The room was clean and small but adequate. It is within easy walking distance of many attractions. The staff was helpful in securing taxi service for us. The quality was good considering the reasonable price.
Good enough
Pro - The reception and dining areas of the hotel were very beautiful. Very close to the cathedral and the other central attractions. Free internet. Parking. Helpful, English speaking staff. Con - The room itself was fine, but the bathroom was very small. The internet was only available around reception. There was a 18 euro per day charge for the parking. Verdict - I would use this hotel again
Nice hotel, fancy lobby and public areas, breakfast included with my stay was good. Room adequate for me, a single traveller, bathroom on the small side. A/C was weak (I was there in Sept and it was hit 90 degrees) so I had to open the balcony doors at night to finally cool off the room, even though it let in the noise from the cafe below.
Excellent location
The Reina Cristina is in a brilliant location near the Cathedral, restaurants, cafes and bus stops (ideal for airport, Alhambra and city tours). The hotel was extremely clean, our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was available until 10.30am, so we avoided any morning rush. Service was fairly impersonal but polite. There was no tourist information available but we had done our research and pre-booked Alhambra beforehand anyway.
Very nice Hotel in very central location
The Hotel Reina Cristina is a delight . It is located a stone's throw from the Cathedral and shopping streets etc. Rooms were good 3 star quality. Breakfast was good with a great choice from the buffet. Overall, a fine place to stay. Will definitely stay there again and tell others about it.
A good base
We arrived at midnight and the receptionist was very helpful, as they were at all times throughout our stay. The rooms were perfectly adequate and clean except we had asked for quiet rooms and we were facing the street where there was noise in the night. Overall though good value, and very good location
Not particularly impressed
The Cristina Reine is an attractive hotel but, on the whole, we felt that it was over-priced. Here are some of the things that gave cause for dissatisfaction, in a three-star hotel: 1)Bedroom pretty poky, with only one chair, while the toilet/bathroom was possibly the tiniest in any three-star hotel on earth! (only a child could have sat comfortably in the area provided for the toilet-bowl). 2)No double-bed but only two singles, side by side. 3) Access to the bedroom-safe only allowed, for some inexplicable reason, after payment of a 10-Euro deposit. Similarly, fridge-Bar unopenable, presumably unless a deposit was paid. 3)Breakfast food satisfactory but access poor, with too many people queuing up for it, in too small an area, with insufficient staff on duty.
not impressed
Expedia advertised hotel as 4* but it was a 3*
Outstanding Hotel
A very fine hotel in an excellent location in Granada. Staff was very friendly, and helpful, and everyone at the front desk spoke English. Rooms were large enough and very clean. Breakfast was very filling with alot of variety. Good value for the money.
Room was very noisy (other guests and reception).
Soleado y silencioso. Personal muy atento y educado. Inmejorable, seguro repetiría si volviera a granada.
It is a beautiful place, a very traditional Spanish place, like a movie I love the foyer! The room very clean and comfortable, and the attention very nice, we were very early and they accomodate us right away. Thank you.
Joli et confortable
Hôtel confortable avec un superbe hall. Petit déjeuner de qualité (buffet)
Parking
Hotel básico, bem localizado e cidade maravilhosa
Hotel básico, bem localizado numa cidade maravilhosa.
Mye for pengene. Enkel, men god frokost. Aircondition på rommet. Enkelt å parkere i p- hus nærme hotellet.
